With the existence of Hydrapple, Flapple really does seem even more like a middle point evolution between Applin and Appletun that somehow broke lose in the development stage. There's no reason for the Applin evolution line to exist like that without horribly overshadowing the first two so like most things in Galar they kinda fumbled the bag 😔.
