Superhero: Kathryn Newton
Here is a interview given by Kathryn Newton from Ant Man to L’Officiel Arabia:
With over a decade in the industry, Kathryn has proven time and time again that she is a force to be reckoned with. As Cassie Lang in the highly-anticipated Marvel film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Kathryn has brought a whole new level of energy to the superhero universe. In this exclusive interview, she takes us behind the scenes and shares her journey as an actress, her preparation process, the challenges she has faced, and her thoughts on the impact of social media on her career. Kathryn also gives us a sneak peek into her upcoming projects..So, grab your popcorn and settle in as we delve into the life and career of the ever-so-talented actress, Kathryn Newton.
What was it like to join the Marvel universe and to work with such a legendary cast of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania?
It was a dream come true! I’ve always wanted to play a superhero. I remember seeing Iron Man with my dad in theaters when I was eight years old and saying I wanted to be the “biggest superhero of all time.” I find it ironic since Cassie Lang grows to be 40 ft tall. My dream really did come true so never stop believing in your dreams!
What drew you to the role of Cassie Lang, and what has been the best part of getting to interpret this character?
I love how much Cassie Lang cares about people. She leads with her heart. The best part of playing Cassie Lang has been finding parts of myself in her. She’s very impatient just like me. That leads to a lot of trouble sometimes!
You have grown so much as an actress since your first role on All My Children back in 2002. Now with over a decade in the industry, how do you personally prepare for a role and make it your own?
In every role, I approach with openness. I know that every movie set will be different than the last. I take bits over from every project and character to the next role. I will say, I always start with what is on the page of the script. The deeper I lean into what has already been written, the more I discover. I like to leave room to play.
What have been some of the biggest challenges you've faced as an actress today, and how have you overcome them?
I think the biggest challenge is staying in the moment. These opportunities fly by, and I have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the ride.
Can you share with us your favorite moment on set during the filming of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania?
Every day was better than the last. I have never laughed or broken character this much in any movie. One of my favorite scenes has to be when Cassie has her moment to “go big.” That was special to me, and I was thinking of the fandom the whole time.
What do you think is the most important message in Quantumania?
I think the heart of this movie is about a father and a daughter reconnecting. They are making up for lost time. I like to joke and say it’s basically a father-daughter road trip through the quantum realm. The most important message is that time is precious, and don’t hold back when it comes to the ones you love.
You've played a wide range of roles, from comedic to dramatic, what has been your most challenging role to date and why?
The most challenging role to date has to be just being myself. I have no idea who that could be tomorrow.
Fashion plays a significant role in creating and developing a character. Can you share your thoughts on the role of fashion in the development of your characters?
Fashion is everything. It changes the way I stand, walk, and speak. Once I put on my costume or super-suit, Kathryn is left behind and the character begins.
Can you share your thoughts on the role of social media in promoting or hindering one’s acting career in today’s society?
I love using social media to connect with fans and to see what resonates with them. I care about what they think and I love interacting with them, especially when I go Live. The overwhelming support I receive from fans is everything. It inspires me. I have fans that have been on my socials since Supernatural. Their loyalty means everything. I love them.
How have you managed to balance shooting for a major movie and other projects over the last few years along with your personal life? Do you have a daily routine or motto that you live by?
Since filming Ant-Man, my motto has definitely been “Don’t Hold Back.” I manage shooting a movie and balancing my personal life because I have great friends who understand and always make time for me when I’m home.
Can you talk about any upcoming projects or roles that you're excited about?
I’m so excited to show the world Lisa Frankenstein directed by Zelda Williams, written by Diablo Cody, and starring my friend Cole Sprouse. It’s a zom-com (zombie romantic comedy). We created our own genre, and I love this movie!
Lastly, if you could choose any fictional realm to live in, what would it be and why?
I’d love to visit Alice in Wonderland or Tinkerbell in Neverland. I think I would get along just fine in a place like that. I do feel like I rush about like that white rabbit does…”I’m late! I’m late! For a very important date!”
From playing a superhero in the Marvel universe to a zom-com movie, Kathryn Newton continues to take the industry by storm with her captivating performances and magnetic personality. There’s no role too big or too small for the extraordinary actress.

Stanley Tucci: Searching For Italy showcases the culinary scene in fashion-conscious Milan
Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, the critically-acclaimed six-part CNN Original Series that follows Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci in Milan as he travels across Italy to discover the secrets and delights of the country’s regional cuisines, continues on CNN International this weekend.
In the fourth episode, airing on Sunday 11th July, Tucci eats and drinks his way around Milan, Italy’s second biggest city and the business powerhouse. Tucci visits the largest cathedral in Italy, meets one of Italy’s biggest fashion dynasties, and goes fishing on Lake Como.
Episode Synopsis:
Milan is the capital of Lombardy. It’s Italy’s second biggest city and the business powerhouse.
Stanley’s first stop is the Duomo, the largest cathedral in Italy where he meets Italian journalist Beppe Severgnini. Beppe explains the Milanese eat food for work. But in recent years Milan has become a culinary mecca. Stanley heads to Ratana', a buzzy restaurant led by chef Cesare Battisti. Cesare shows Stanley how to ace a schnitzel, which he contends is Milanese, not Austrian despite the Germanic sounding name.
Milan is home of the aperitivo - a post-work drink served with a light snack. Stanley goes for aperitivo with social media star Tess Masazza and afterwards they head to one of Milan’s super cool bars where you need a password to enter. Here he drinks a refreshing black martini, prepared by one of Milan’s best mixologists, Morris Maramaldi.
Milan is one of the four fashion capitals of the world. While there, Stanley meets one of Italy’s biggest fashion dynasties, the Missonis. Family matriarch Rosita, her daughter Angela and her grandson Francesco cook Stanley some family favorites – tender succulent brasato, creamy polenta and freshly foraged mushrooms.
Next, Stanley heads to the Orobic Alps to meet cheese maker Paolo Ciapparelli. Paolo makes Bitto Storico Ribelle – an ancient cheese made from the milk of alpine herds. The cheese is so incredible that Stanley feels inspired to make pizzoccheri – a noodle made from buckwheat. His film crew try it and love it. But it’s only when the locals give the thumbs up that Stanley is happy.
Stanley then goes fishing with amateur angler William Cavadini on Lake Como. William has formed an association to protect Como from global warming. Stanley catches perch and they head to William’s to cook it with rice, butter and sage.
Stanley’s wife Felicity joins him in Como and together they head back into Milan to Osteria del Treno, a former HQ for the rail workers union. The menu is classic Milanese – veal chops and risotto, good quality but reasonable prices. All classes of people eat here at the huge tables, often to the sound of live music, singing and dancing. It’s a far cry from money-driven fashion-conscious Milan - but a wonderful tribute to the people who built Milan from the ground up.

Located in the ABC department store of the Achrafieh and Verdun branches, the Elisabetta Franchi in Lebanon will display the brand’s latest collections.
Thanks to its position between the two provinces of Greater Beirut and Maten, the location of Achrafieh constitutes a significant lifestyle destination, which attracts several customers from Antelias to Downtown.
