had the thought how funny it would be if the first dream he had would be about kaveh and he cant stop thinking about it whenever he looks at him or smth, so i doodled it (sorry for mess kajcbjk)

some random stuff about my kvthm fantasy AU:

kaveh

✦ no one knows really when and how the curse spread, only that people fall sick and slowly wither away as it spreads over their body. the bodies cant handle the curse feeding on its energy and they die from weakness and their organs failing before the curse can fully devour their soul next. coma is the final stage.

there is no easy way out of it; unnatural death while the curse is still active, powerful and feeding will unleash the curse on anyone and everything around it.

✦ kaveh feels pain and on some days weakness where he can barely hold anything; those seem to be days the curse advances on his body to devour some more. unlike the others, hes still withstanding it though and doesnt show the usual signs (permanent weakness and fatigue, sickness,etc) its because he was born cursed and his body seems to be used to living with it; the curse has started devouring his body and soul simultanously already. it means his body will hold out until all of him is devoured.

there are records of people who were like him, born cursed, and those have turned into shadowy mindless monsters that roamed the lands, killing everyone and everything in their way, once body and soul were devoured. the day kaveh dies to the curse, his body will be controlled by the curse alone and hurt everyone too. kaveh wants to stop that with all his power; not to have a peaceful death but to save people from the curse and himself.

✦ the mourning flowers bloom as long as the curse is active and festering, and they start to wilt more the closer death is. people use these to measure the time left they are able to spend with their loved, cursed ones until they die to the curse.

people believe the curse is what keeps the flower blooming, and as soon as the body gets weaker which in turns makes the curse lose its power as well (since it cant feed on the body any longer), the flower starts to wilt more and more as well just like the cursed person until both die. this is why some people buried their loved, cursed ones along with the flower as a symbol of protection from the curse in the afterlife.

(so far there seems no way to cure or fight the curse other than succumbing to it and taking it to the grave)

✦ kavehs mother keeps the mourning flowers around to check on the time they have left with each other; it was a depressing sight.

✦ once kaveh sets out to find a way to break the curse, he keeps a few mourning flowers in his hair as a way to track the time he has left until he dies and turns.

✦ he set out in the dead of night and in secret, only with what he got on his body. did he remember to bring mora with him? nope.

✦ kaveh enjoys drawing and painting; because of the curse he can no longer hold a quill for too long though.

al haitham

✦ hes the most proficient one in spells and curses; some say hes able to speak all the languages known - though if that is true, only he knows. however, if you ask him how many languages he can actually speak, he will answer with a random number each time or none at all depending on his mood.

✦ kaveh seeks him out because of that, in hopes he knows the curse and how to break it. haitham does not, however hes able to come up with a spell that keeps the curse in check for a bit but needs to be redone regularly. he accompanies kaveh to keep the spell but also because he is interested in this curse.

✦ because of the spell giving him short relief from his pains of the curse, kaveh manages to draw a little again. his first drawing in long time is a bird that awfully resembles a certain witch.

haitham secretly keeps it in his spellbook.

✦ he keeps a tab of his services to mess with kaveh (since hes broke as hell) and makes sure to bring up the mora owed to him every now and then to mess with him some more (hes not interested in his mora)

✦ haitham does the barest minimum out of comfort and doesnt reveal anything about himself which often leads to people (who dont know of him) to mistake him for the feeble mage he calls himself, greatly underestimating him.

✦ he knows perfectly well how to wield a sword (he has a sword) and can kick ass in melee combat with no magic needed.

✦ hes able to understand animals and other creatures.

other stuff

tighnari and cyno join them later on when they meet them; they both also try to find a way to break the curse plagueing collei.

dehya as well tries to find a way to save the cursed dunyazard who had fallen into a coma, offering to be kavehs bodyguard and helping hand as he struggles to fight more and more (but doesnt give up)

mehrak is some sort of forest spirit who found a liking to kaveh and sticks with him and likes to argue with al haitham (the only one who can understand her)
