Hello :)

I have a few questions about Oliver because I'm kinda new.

Why did you pick the name "Oliver"?

Which season did Oliver join the ninja? How long has he been a part of the team?

All I know is that he is (or used to be) the Overlord but the golden weapons redeemed him or something?

If these questions were answered before, then you can gladly just send me the link of the post. I hope this ask doesn't bother you too much but I got curious!

Hello! I'll gladly answer your questions because I love rambling about this AU

For the first question, it's actually pretty simple. I picked the name Oliver since it sounds similar to Overlord.

And for the second question, Oliver was found by the ninja between the events of season 4 and 5. Technically he didn't actually join the team as a ninja until after Crystalized because from season 4 to Seabound, he was in the form of a child.

I have an old post going over the basic premise of this au which I will link here but to give a basic rundown, Oliver is the Overlord, the golden armor gave him amnesia and suppressed his evil nature which is how he became good after the ninja found him. (He did get his memories back eventually btw) I also have a fic that I wrote about the ninja finding Oliver for the first time if you're interested in that (link to fic)

But yeah, I'm really happy to hear whenever people get interested in my aus, especially the Purified Au, this one's really close to my heart. I hope my response helped clear some things up, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask :3

2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.

Thinking about how Arin and Oliver mirror each other.

How Arin has no powers and he feels useless because of it, meanwhile Oliver is basically a god and therefore has a lot of power.

Arin is afraid that he won't be good enough to help the team because he hasn't improved at all, and he thinks he's just a burden. Oliver on the other hand is terrified of hurting the others due to his immense power and because of how closely his power is tied to his darker side and the fact that he's the embodiment of evil.

Hell, even the fact that Oliver can't do spinjitzu meanwhile Arin's whole deal is that he taught himself spinjitzu.

I've been obsessing over these two for a few days now and I really just wanted to ramble about it real quick. Things like this also really make me want Arin to have a villain arc, or at the very least a moment of him choosing to do something not so heroic, because the idea of Oliver having to see an evil Arin makes me go crazy in the best way possible.

I should really post about Leo more so I'm just gonna ramble and info dump about him for a little bit

He grew up in Ninjago before the merge but has very little knowledge about the ninja. Obviously he knows who they are, but he was never too interested in them like most kids.

His powers manifested after the merge and he didn't actually become an elemental master until the merge happened

He didn't realize he had actual powers until Lloyd showed up and told him. He just assumed that every artist got the ability to manipulate the colors on a canvas after getting skilled enough.

He's not stupid btw, he just lacks a lot of confidence in himself which results in him doing mental gymnastics to explain certain things like him having powers.

One of the reasons he likes making art so much is because it's the one thing he actually feels confident in.

His favorite video game is Splatoon (or at least the Ninjago equivalent of Splatoon)

Also his main would be the Inkbrush

When training to become a ninja he asked Lloyd if he could have a giant paint brush as a weapon. Lloyd had to tell him that's not really a thing.

Leo still hasn't settled on a main weapon and tends to rely more on his powers. I think deep down he's hoping to find that giant paint brush he can use.

He is often the one in the group who questions why they're doing the crazy things that their doing. For example, he'd be the one to point out how crazy it is to jump into a fight with no preparations while the others say it's just what ninjas do.

There are times where Leo regrets being a ninja because it cannot be good for his anxiety, but at the same time it does wonders for his confidence.

He's actually very similar to Jay when it comes to the whole confidence issues thing. Maybe someday they'll get to meet and Jay can help him with those issues.

As of now, Leo doesn't really have a main mentor like the other kids. Lloyd is sort of the main one teaching him, but Nya helps out too since his powers work a lot like hydrokinesis.

Speaking of the other kids, Leo isn't super close with any of them since he's a bit of a loner.

He's probably the most friendly with Arin. Arin likes info dumping about the ninja and then being surprised when Leo doesn't know what he's talking about.

Leo thinks Sora is really cool and I feel like they would bond over being child prodigies (Sora with her tech and Leo with his art) but for the most part they'd keep to themselves.

Leo is kinda scared of Wyldfyre since she's so... well, wild. Leo probably thinks she'd try to bite him (which she probably would)

That's sort of everything I feel like rambling about for now. I feel bad that I haven't done more stuff with Leo because I do like him a lot, I just get sidetracked by so many other things. Maybe when season 2 comes out I'll make more content with him since he doesn't even join the team until after season 1, so yeah.

I find it so interesting how so many people seem to have different interpretations for how old Cinder is supposed to be (which to be fair the show doesn't really tell us so I don't blame people) And now I'm curious what the general opinion is

Nya's design for my Scorched Au. Also this is my first time drawing Nya with her short hair so that's neat!

Nya's pretty important in this au. With Kai off doing his own thing, Nya ends up training to be a ninja/master of water WAY before she does so in canon since Wu thinks her abilities will be very useful. Which makes sense since you know, Kai is the master of fire. Having a master of water to deal with him would be pretty useful.

Although most of the time when fighting, Nya is trying her best to reason with Kai since she thinks if anyone can talk him down it's her. And while it's true that Nya's really the only one left that Kai cares about, he also sees the fact that Wu started training Nya as a way of replacing him which does not help his mindset at all.

Overall, it's complicated between these two. Obviously Nya doesn't like seeing all these places getting burnt down in Kai's path, but she also doesn't want to lose her brother. Meanwhile Kai doesn't want to hurt his sister, but he also wants to prove that he's good enough to be the Green Ninja so badly that he will burn down anything and anyone standing in his way.
