Olivia had just exited Honey’s Bakery with a to-go bag filled with croisants and a large iced macchiato in one hand, and her phone in her other. She was texting her sister. She felt something touch her leg and she jumped, still feeling a bit paranoid from her night in the jail cell thanks to her apparently illegal stun gun. She looked down and saw papers being scattered about from the women’s bag in front of her. The redhead quickly reached and stopped a small stack from blowing away with her foot. She tucked her phone away as the woman turned and saw all her papers. “Let me help,” OIivia offered, crouching down to gather the papers. She glanced down at them as she gathered them and saw they looked like notes or something.
she’s already made peace with the idea that she would have to go around collecting papers off the street, most likely blocking the sidewalk for the people that were in a hurry to get somewhere. it’s fine, she’s told herself. this is the city life. she’s gotten used to it ... kind of. she almost expects nothing anymore, yet when a redhead decides to lend a hand and prove her wrong, she can’t say she’s disappointed. “ oh, you don’t hav--- ” too late, but courtesies are always welcome. “ this is very nice of you, thank you. ” it gives her the motivation to speed up her pace a little and to cleanse the sidewalk just a tad faster. at last, she rises to her feet, inspecting the papers she’s reclaimed so far. “ not for nothing, but i need these to get paid this month, so ... if they got lost? yikes. ”

revelaare:
papers go flying, the moment catches lorelai off guard. a sea of white sheets slice through the air, momentarily considering whether she should reach out and grab the papers, catching the source of documents flying past, “—excuse me!” finally, she catches the attention of the brunette, offering a weak smile, “looks like it.”
she almost dreads getting closer, but she obviously has to. most of the papers are easy enough to collect ; it seems it’s only been one short breeze, so they stayed put right where they landed. one of the reports, however, she has to pluck out from a big puddle ----- and she winces as she straightens herself back to a standing and watches as the water drips from the paper. “ i’m sure this is salvageable in some way ... right? ”

ofxdcath:
He was on his way down the street towards the bakery, usually he wasn’t the sort to eat anything sweet this early in the morning, but he had an itch for it this particular morning. He had an early start that day, and usually when he did he was too busy to get anything but drive thru coffee from a chain, which meant shitting and over hot coffee too early in the morning. This time, he managed to get everything he needed to get done early so he skipped on the coffee to be picked up later, which had lead him to where he was now. He’d pick up what he needed from the bakery before heading over to the house. Maybe he was feeling in the mood to share, but not likely.Â
As he was about to head into the shop something caught his eyes, well, several somethings blowing with the small morning breeze. The white of the paper really stood out against the concrete of the sidewalk. Instead of heading inside, he turned and began to pick up the ones he could when he heard the voice, presumably from the person who’d lost their work. “Seems to be that way.” He said, as he stood up with the papers in hand. “At least the breeze isn’t a strong one right now. Would have been even worse had it been.”
this isn’t the worst thing that could have happened today. an idle comfort to some, but something particulaly efficient for salome. the moment she’s seen the papers go flying, she decided she was just going to pick them up, walk away, and move on with her day. that partly explains the slight ease in her tone as she finds the man holding the reports in his grip ----  the other is just the fact that she is oh, ever so grateful whenever random acts of stranger kindness occur. ( cities aren’t towns, especially when it comes to the community. )
“ yeah, i’ve ... had that happen to me at some point too. it was a school presentation and i had my whole town looking for them for a few hours. one page was never to be seen again. ” she reaches for the papers and, with a relaxing exhale, placates her face with a thankful smile. “ thank you, though. i’m glad these ones were easy to find. ”

location: near honey’s bakery
territory:Â neutral
open to:Â anyone!
tagging: @crimsonstarters
it’s been a particularly tough week, with salome spending most of her time scooped up inside of her apartment to oversee the evolution of her mother’s wellbeing. the doctors did successfully explain what it was that’s caused her health to deteriorate so quickly, but truth be told --- concern deafened and blinded her. she even took the week off from work, but no more. understandably, she couldn’t wait to get back home, even at the risk of a couple of babbles she made during the live transmission.Â
this day, she doesn’t even stop for a bite at honey’s bakery, like she’d normally do, instead rushing past as she reaches into her purse for a chapstick. it’s only the soft gasps of some people behind her that make her stop. she does, turns around, and sees quite a number of papers scattering on the sidewalk. absolutely no way. “ are those my reports that definitely shouldn’t be on the ground? ” it’s a mumble to herself mostly, but definitely for passerby ears to hear. the papers must have flown out of the bag when she opened it for the chapstick. GREAT.

( aslihan malbora, 23, cisfemale, she/her ) have you seen SALOME KIRAC around ? i hear they’re an REPORTER AT CNS who can sometimes be FRETFUL & GULLIBLE. but i also heard they can be POSITIVE & UPBEAT if you catch them on a good day. they’re usually hanging around HONEY’S BAKERY in their spare time. i sure hope they’re alright !
ello mates ello full disclosure that i have NO idea what im doing always and whatever follows next is trash bc i suck at intros so pls enjoy my garbage <3
salome’s parents are of turkish origins but grew up in the usa. subsequently, so did she. she’s the youngest of two children and has an older sister who she’s always looked up to.
salome grew up in the countryside, in a small town where everyone knew everyone. this must be what contributed to the development of her personality, seeing how a spirit of community, warmth, and gratitude were values deeply rooted not only in family life, but in town life too.
as a child, she was very fragile and it all had something to do with a condition that made her more prone to all kinds of diseases and injuries, especially colds and bruises. as her immune system developed better, it became less dangerous.Â
the first time she went into a sunflower field, at the of five, she was almost killed by an allergic reaction. the incident motivated her sister to become a doctor when she’d grow up. for salome, it meant that she was reborn again and more appreciative than ever.
her father left home when she was ten. he took off into the world with his mistress. not that her mom ever told her that.
her mother took on a second job and her sister started work, in order to sustain the family. wanting to be of help somehow, salome learned how to take care of chores around the house and became very fond of various domestic tasks. she’d often gain a buck or two lending a hand to the townspeople. as long as it wasn’t around sunflowers.
when her sister, five years older, turned eighteen, she left for university. their mother fell ill because of stress and workload and it fell into salome’s hands to take care of her, while taking on her first part time job at the age of fifteen.
both salome and her sister worked to save up money so they could afford moving to the city and provide their mother with better healthcare access. the dream came true when salome, after years of intense studying, earned a scholarship to university of chicago.
the money saved up managed to provide a year’s worth of rent for her and her mom, whose situation got bad enough she’s now bed bound.Â
it’s been five years of chicago, during which all her time was consumed by studies, running errands, and taking care of her mother. with the help of her sister’s new job, they can now afford a caretaker for their mom.
TLDR:Â country girl with an older sis, a sick mom, a dad that fucked off with his mistress. moved to chicago when she turned eighteen and lives with her bedbound mother.
→ headcanons.
after spending so much time in one place, salome loves running around, discovering things, and travel. it’s one of the reasons she became a reporter. in spite of that, she’s kind of camera shy and sometimes bumbles her way through live interventions. the higher ups might get fed up one day.
personality wise, salome is upbeat and optimistic and it’s this positive attitude that gets her through the exhaustion and essential lack of a real social life. she spends most of her time worrying about her mom, or rent, or her job. just generally worrying.
she’s been often scammed because of how gullible she is. she’s also the kind of person that has trouble saying no. it’s a work in progress.
salome is oblivious to the ugly side of the world ( and the city ), so maybe that should change. for reasons.
her hobbies include baking, sewing, and other various forms of diy’s. a lot of objects in her room are handmade.
v v v sweet she just wants everyone to be happy and bake rainbows together. once gave her coat to a trembling stray dog. it was winter.
sexuality wise, she’s bisexual. had two relationships: one when she was seventeen ( he was only with her to swipe her v card YIKES ) and another when she was twenty ( a nice lady tho they realized the flame just wasn’t there and they were better off as friends ).
→ wanted connections.
the caretaker: whoever it is that’s getting paid to look after her mother while she’s at work.
the two exes (0/2):Â find descriptions above.
work contacts: reporters have contacts in a lot of fields. they can be people she’s collaborated with for various stories or whatever.
best friend:Â a person who first showed her around chicago and the only one she finds time to hang around with once in a while.
her sister:Â obviously, but this is coming in the shape of a wc soon too. <3
bad influence:Â anyone that could accidentally ( or not ) drag her into the ~filth~ of this place.
indebted: someone that she’s helped ( in some way ) during a critical moment in their life. you know, a good samaritan kinda vibe. they would’ve been strangers.
