Wiki stuff update

I have tweeted at the original owner of the Fandom batim wiki to ask him if a claim, saying he plans to move it to wiki.gg, is true.

I'm curious though - If he doesn't respond, what then ? Would it be disrespectful to start a new wiki, knowing the original does have time and effort and community as well ? Or would it be better to do so knowing all people I've seen so far are in support of my plans and idea ? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thank you for the insight !! And I'll keep you in mind if I ever do need a hand with anything.

Even so, I think it is more than possible to state when things aren't explicitly said.

For example - Is Norman the Projectionist ? Well, we have the audio log in game, the tweets from meatly himself, the fact he is said to be an actual projectionist as a job in life too. We can state that he is allegedly the Projectionist due to these reasons.

Bendy's creation, much more unknown. In tiol, Joey says that allegedly Henry helped him create a vision he already had. However, we also have an audio log from Henry in game that states otherwise, that he created Bendy and Joey would "Love this" implying he hasn't seen it at the time of recording.

There are ways around this to make things more reliable for sure, we just have to word things correctly and clearly !! Also perhaps find ways to not just say "Allegedly" and "Implied" hundreds of times over pff.

I hope this makes sense and didn't miss anything !!

I want to make a new wiki for a few reasons, many can be found in this post (including the reblogs, good additions /gen). The simplified points for this being-

The Fandom wiki is badly moderated

Ads make the site unreadable

A different host would allow for better design

Full of misinformation and taking implied things literally

Images, model sheets, etc need updating and new additions

The pages about anything Book related are ignored

Fandom itself used AI "fun facts" on a wiki that moved, all false

And many more reasons !!

If this does turn out to be an ok thing to do, I would Greatly appreciate support and words from people who know a thing or two about how to make this project possible. Host suggestions (alternatives to fandom), potential future volunteers, and any general advice. If not, perhaps it's a possibility to contact the fandom folk to help move and improve the already existing wiki too, as lots of facts on it are already accurate and useful.

Dreams do come true !! If we want this to happen it absolutely can.

I am an artist, I have an interest in science (mainly biology, zoology, psychology, palaeontology, basically anything concerning life) and I am learning music theory and literacy. Also a fan of historical things from the 20s-40s (as a result of batim).

PSA - Tag things correctly !!!!!!!!!

I keep seeing certain things untagged when they should be, or at least would benifit from being tagged properly.

Some people want to avoid certain content, such as-

Specific ships in fandoms

Specific characters

Gore and body horror

Sexual or suggestive content

Common triggers

Specific medias (games, series, franchises, etc)

While some Want to see these things, and being improperly tagged means they may be unable to find the specific post (or just finding the post in general)

I ask you all to please tags things correctly to be considerate. For example, if you post about a ship, include-

Character A x character B

Character B x Character A

And their combined name, or their shipname if they have one

I know many people (including myself) who benifit from proper tagging on posts and I just want to remind people that tags and the ability to block them are essential to many. Please try your best to remember.

BSOTM REVIEW !!

I liked it !! Not loved or anything big like that but it was enjoyable and effective for what it is.

Things I personally liked -

The story was well executed for how small the game is. Since the game is meant to be a treat/starter for the fans between bigger, main games/spinoffs, they had to think about how to present the story in a good readable but interesting way that's in their budget for it, and they did !! I liked all story parts I remember. The age and time being told through a height chart on the wall was creative and the way they had the hallway outside change from school to studio was also good. I also liked the silhouettes, they added an artistic feel to the game despite being really simple. All of it was fairly creative and I liked how they composed each scene to be abstract but still clear. I feel like the story itself is also more of a blurb than a one off thing too, just explaining the main parts of it/perhaps even a backstory to what happened to Riley in gent. This has potential and it would definitely be something I'd like to see made into a more developed story down the line.

I think the can mechanics were fun too, not anything huge but nothing in this game really is.

Things I didn't like/would change -

Ragtime Guffie seems like a great guy but like. He doesn't Do anything. A lot of problems, even in batdr, are that characters don't have significance and are just There. What I would've done is maybe have him be a link or symbolism for something relating to Riley's story ? Maybe make him represent a parent of hers or something, maybe even get rid of him entirely. If he appears in a game in the future perhaps make him an easter egg in bsotm like the other teasers in a way.

The oldtime theatre was kinda useless ? It feels as if both the theatre and teaser tv room could've been one, so if I were to change that I'd make each teaser poster seen on screen just a poster in a single theatre room framed like upcoming movies/the toon promos in other games (and the One in bsotm) would be. I remember seeing that lone wolf was a physical poster like that but I feel the other games could've had the same treatment. I also think the screen itself was fairly useless and didn't show anything of value. I would've at Least had it play the bendy toons that already exist on it or even just add different glitchy things that appear each time you hit the screen. Maybe mix the two up and have the toons themselves glitch in various ways while showing off the messages like "submit" and "obey" between frames.

Having to walk into and through the darkness for a good minute to get to the open shack feels... unnecessary. It's interesting in concept somewhat but it's just a waste of time to walk all the way over. Maybe making them closer together would've helped ? Or just have one shack and something hidden in the area to break the wood panels with.

Having a jumpscare for pausing just doesn't feel right. What if someone Needs to pause the game for a break or for other important reasons and they just come back to their game being over in some way/in the beginning again (keep in mind I avoided any jumpscare from the ink demon so I am only assuming what likely happens). It just doesn't sit right with me. Also, the accessibility of the game is Not good at all. There are no warnings for the flashing lights or the themes of car crashes, and the lack of any settings can make the game impossible to play for some I'm sure. No brightness settings, sensitivity, flashing lights to be turned off, anything. What should've been done is Have warnings on the steam page and have those options in game too as the lack of these can cause serious harm to some people.

In Conclusion -

I enjoyed the game and the story was executed well, however, the other parts of the game were oftentimes unnecessary and the accessibility needs to be improved.

Honestly i don't think secrects of the machine was Meant to be as good as people expect. The way I see it ? It's a little starter for the feast to come. It gives you the barebones of a small story that seems possible to expand on and it gives us some small easter eggs and other stuff like guffie's existence and the rave easter egg. I understand that critiquing can be very fun and it can help others avoid those mistakes but !! This game isn't meant to be good. It will have bigger more apparent flaws as it's only meant to tease other games and give us Something as we wait, since they're focusing on the main games, so it's a likely reason why this one was so lackluster compared to previous stuff.

PREV I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR POST WHEN IT COMES OUT. Also MAN I THINK I REMEMBER THE ALICE BOOK PAGE ?? SHIT'S FUCKED ALSO TO ADD. So much of the stuff on the wiki needs updating SO BAD. For example there are gifs of animations and model sheets and rips and stuff but a lot are very low quality ? I have a feeling it is possible to get more higher quality content of these things though. Anyways to reiterate WE NEED WIKI REVOLUTION !!!

First, the fandom wiki is badly moderated and I'm fairly sure does Not always have accurate info. If we created a wiki outside of the fandom website, we could make sure it's moderated well by willing media literate people and have info that's up to date and accurate !! Also info without bias and stating when things are implied, being neutral with factual information etc etc.

Second, I remember when the Minecraft wiki moved to Weird Gloop (the website host), the wiki became much clearer, easier to read, felt more structurally sound and was more pleasing to the eye. Visually it improved a lot along with accessibility.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to structure it or how to make this a possibility, please do tell !! I'd love to see this idea come into fruition

Also fandom wiki has been known to replace wiki authors with AI

I remember how the Zelda wiki moved off fandom so the people behind fandom wiki just kept the wiki going by replacing all the authors and moderators with AI

(I think they also once completely kicked off all authors and moderators of a wiki and replaced them with AI but im unsure of this part)

True !! I really do feel sorry for them and other wikis who were treated badly, it sucks to see so much content on such a bad site when better exists. I wish so badly to see everyone start to move on from it and I'd love to aid that change
