Sidetrack(ed)
On the last Album, India.Arie does a lovely cover of âThe Heart of the Matterâ by Don Henley. Which led me and the husband to on an adventure to listen to Don Henley's greatest hits. The End of The Innocence was one of the albums I would listen to with my Dad.Â

Testimony: Volume 1, Life & Relationship
I think that this is a case of me buying the next album because I loved the first album so much. I donât hate it... but I also am not in love with it. While listing to a cover she did of a Don Henley song (Yeah, the guy from the Eagles), we got sidetracked and ended up listening to his tops songs halfway through... Sorry India.Arie.

Missy Elliot
Under Construction
Sunday's cleaning extravaganza was sponsored by Missy Ellior. I was really excited about this one. It was one of my favorites in high school. My best friend from HS, Nikki, loved it too. It was another one of those albums we would blast on full volume throughout town.
Upon closer inspection of my CD case, I saw that I had 2 copies. Odd... One was the actual disk. The second was a burned copy. This is what it looked like.

It says âI â¤ď¸ U nicâ â¤ď¸Chris. I was like, ok, first... this is Nikkiâs copy. Second... Who the fuck is Chris?! Then it hit me!
Itâs Nikkiâs Ex. I must have gotten it after they broke up.

I, of course, immediately sent a text with the photo and we had a good laugh. Because that is what best friends do.

A Rush of Blood To The Head
It was bound to happen. A good amount of these CDs were acquired in the early/mid 2000s, when I spent a lot of time with my best friend which was then my boyfriend. We spent a lot of time together riding around in his white Ford Escort hatchback listening to music. This was one of the albums we really liked listening to together. There were a lot of good memories tied to that time and that car. I learned a lot about myself in the summer of 2004. Were bad decisions made? Yeah. Do I have regrets? Absolutely not.

John Legend
Get Lifted
I sang along to this album like I listened to it last week. It was probably the only R&B album that I really enjoyed. I mean... there was a lot of Piano and we know how I feel about that. John has an amazing voice. Itâs hard not to like.

MIX CD!
I Believe In A Thing Called Love
Amongst my collection, I found a few mixes. Some with titles that give me a hint of what is on them. Some flat out unlabeled.Â
Bold move past me, Bold move.
I had no idea what was on this one but was excited to see what weird collection I curated for myself.
Since this is the first mix, I am still trying to figure out how I want to list the tracks. So Iâm just going to (for time's sake) list them. Maybe Iâll make a playlist later.
Track 1: âBreak Outâ ⢠Foo Fighters Track 2: âYou Donât Love Meâ ⢠The Kooks Track 3: âFeeling Goodâ ⢠The Muse Track 4: âFortune Fadedâ ⢠Red Hot Chili Peppers Track 5: âOn Topâ ⢠The Killers Track 6: âAll My Lifeâ ⢠Foo Fighters âTrack 7: âGet Your Hands Off My Womanâ ⢠The Darkness â Track 8: âBury Me With Itâ ⢠Modest Mouse Track 9: âIf Onlyâ ⢠The Kooks Track 10: âCochiseâ ⢠Audioslave Track 11: âOle Black âNâ Blue Eyesâ ⢠The Fratillis Track 12: âI Believe In A Thing Called Loveâ ⢠The Darkness Track 13: âBetween Angels and Insectsâ ⢠Papa Roach Track 14: âRaido Songâ ⢠Jet Track 15: âEverybody Knows You Cried Last Nightâ ⢠The Fratillis Track 16: âReptiliaâ ⢠The Strokes Track 17: âDonât Go Awayâ ⢠Oasis Track 18: âOn Callâ ⢠Kings of Leon Track 19: âRoad Trippinâ â˘Â Red Hot Chili Peppers Track 20: âFire It Upâ ⢠Modest Mouse

This album exists in my collection and I am not sure exactly why. I could speculate... but I don't feel like it.

System Of A Down
Hypnotize
No matter how my taste in music changes, SOAD remains to be my favorite band. I just love them to much!
via GIPHY
Itâs been a dream to see them in concert. So when they were playing a concert in Rio and airing it on tv, Jem and I stayed up to watch them. It was as close to that dream as I could get. I danced around the living room and sang my heart out. It was a blast.Â
Up next was Guns Nâ Roses. We waited until 2 am to watch them because I never liked Guns Nâ Roses and knew Axl was a wreck.
So he came out in his cute little yellow raincoat and proceeded to just bomb. It was so bad. Look at him. Isnât he adorable?

Copeland
Beneath Medicine Tree
Back in college, someone said to me, âyou really like piano in your music, huh?â Well, I guess. What's wrong with some Piano?! Then I noticed it. Nearly most of the music I was listing at that time featured some rocking piano. So I had a phase. Not mad. No Regerts!Â
I saw this band live a couple of times. My college hosted concerts every now and then. Copeland made an appearance a few times. I was a Christian school so of course, they would have a Christian band play. Please note that at the time I didnât know that they were a Christian band. This information didnât change the fact that they made good music.
This was a good listen. I was particularly calming after the whole R. Kelly Listen.

R. Kelly
TP-2.com
Out of the gate... I learned that R. Kelly is good at counting. Knowing what i know about R. Kelly... it was hard to not feel uncomfortable during some songs, i.e. "Feelin' On Yo Booty." If you recall, at the end he just repeats "feelin' of yo booty" over and over. I'm gonna go shower now. A regular shower... get your mind out the gutter.
Also, I am slowly learning that my love for R&B has not held up... or maybe my taste in R&B was bad. I guess weâll have to wait and find out.

Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!
I definitely sang along to this entire album. If I werenât tied to my desk, I would be dancing around my home office. I should take a dance break... I could probably use the exercise since I have been moving less due to self-quarantining.

I only recognize one song on this album. "Don't Let Go (Love)." Not sure it really warented the purchase of the full album on a middle schooler's income. Also not sure why I still have it. Guessing I was under the influence of young love or something.
Overall, I'm not into this one. Moving on to the next #.

Kings of Leon
Only By The Night
This album. THIS ALBUM! This album accompanied me to my first year of grad school. It was almost permanently in my car for the first few months. When I close my eyes I can feel the chill of the fall air, the smell of the crisp leaves, and hear myself belting out the lyrics as I sing along.
