shooting day - 8/23/24

Not much to say about today, woke up at 5:30 only for us to leave for shooting at 8 (we planned to leave at 6), doesn't really matter though.

We hit up circle K on the way there, naturally I stole (sour skittles and white cheddar cheezits if you're wondering), and then we found our spot and set up! I got to shoot Cameron's shotgun, revolver, 1911, and this gun he calls a "hellcat"? I have no clue what it is, he uses it for everyday self defense, so obviously it's just a pistol but it definitely has some kick to it. Mag dumping Nate's glock was fun but it doesn't compare to shooting that AR—I gotta say, I was scared to shoot that at first but it's really not so bad, and when he has it loaded with .22s it honestly feels like a really expensive toy.

I really do understand the people who spend so much of their lives thinking back on high school and college. I just graduated and of course I think about it all the time especially now that the new school year has started and my younger friends are back in classes but more than that those are such important formative experiences for us and we have so much safety and ironically so much freedom even if it doesn't feel like it at the time, how could we not long to go back? How could we not long to return to a time when we saw our friends and families and were fed every day?

Maybe I won't feel this way in 5, 10, 20 years—but it's how I feel now, and I don't think I'll ever be able to forget this feeling
