saw ur desi miku and fell in love, it's so so cool

Aw thank you so much 🥹 it’s really lovely to hear how well loved my desi Miku was! Honest to goodness, I’m very happy her design landed well.

I keep seeing really horrendous comments and negative videos online about desis more and more these days, so I’m hesitant to make more desi styled artwork. I can’t take the heartbreak over and over seeing how mean people can be. Racist comments are so normalized these days, it’s actually quite alarming.

Here’s to hoping it’ll go away someday, but it breaks my heart that young desi kids are seeing all that nonsense too. We should love who we are and be able to share our culture with the world without being ridiculed.

question: how do you go about drawing embroidery and prints and patterns on the outfits?

A very good question!! Sometimes I will be insane and try to do it by hand, so most of my work on prints and embroidery is me buckling down and trying my hand at the symmetry tool -> then liquifying it to fit an area.

When I’m not trying to be insane, I have come across a pattern brush set that is really lovely! I’ll link them here:
