ok so in the tag it seems like people are freaking out over Edwin being the one to "invent everything." and like, maybe I'm missing something (I haven't read the books and I haven't watched the full game yet; I'm watching Fuhnaff's) but... why are we assuming Edwin invented everything in MCM?

I know he says he did, but there's also a whole class of employees called "creator," and a bunch of order forms strewn around the entire manor. It seems to me that A) he is often taking credit for his employees' inventions, as corrupt businesses often do, and B) he is often hired to do contract work, such as building the costumes or endoskeletons for other businesses' intellectual property.

So there's already two options there. One: Henry or William used to work for MCM, created the Fazbear characters we see there, had their work used by Murray, and then took back the rights once Murray disappeared. Two: Henry or William came up with ideas for their animatronics and hired MCM to create the costumes/endoskeletons for them. Like, this is what I think the Party Chica blueprint we see in Dolly's section is. It's a commission. They're not saying Murray created her, they're saying he was commissioned to build her. Which would make sense for a business to do in many situations--sometimes you have the ability to build everything from scratch, but you don't have the time or resources... things like that.

There's also the option that Henry, William, and Edwin worked together in some capacity to build several of the creations we see--like they had a mutually beneficial relationship between their two companies, or something. Maybe they traded ideas or blueprints back and forth. Something like that. I don't know business details, but this seems like the type of thing that could be real.

As for the springlocks section--I said this in another post, but all this really "confirms" is that more people than just Fazbear Ent. use springlocks. Fredbear's Family Diner clearly already existed while this place was active; the pizza boxes are everywhere. So what we have is a case of two different locations both using springlock suits at the same time. There's no evidence who did it "first" or who created what or whatever. We might feel thrown off because they've been associated with FazEnt for so long, but if you really think about it, this... just kind of makes sense? Springlock suits are made out to be cutting-edge technology. It makes sense that Fazbear Entertainment wouldn't be the only tech-forward company using them.

...Also, right before the Dolly section, Edwin literally says he invented recycling. Given that recycling as a concept has been popular in the US since the 1930s, that's kind of a stretch of reality, even for a very stretchy series like FNAF. I suspect that this was meant as a sort of hint to the audience, like, "hey, by the way, he's bragging about all this stuff he's invented--but he didn't actually invent all of it. he's lying."

Why do people on the internet think that saying "it's just my opinion" automatically shields their opinion from any sort of criticism or other people's own opinions?

Because let me tell ya honey, people are allowed to have their own opinions, but just because it's an opinion doesn't mean it's immune to criticism, people are going to disagree with your opinion and you're just going to have to accept that.

So quit saying "it's my opinion" whatever someone doesn't agree with your opinion
