TW: animal death / animal neglect
I wanted to draw this comic for a long time, but I never knew how to approach this issue. In my childhood all my friends had budgies, all of them were put aside somewhere and left alone. Treated like “annoying” decoration. Don’t get a bird if you can’t meet its needs.

I am currently reading uprooted and so far i think it’s so boring. Like honestly there is nothing interesting going on and im almost half way through the book. I just don’t want to continue with it anymore😑. But at the same time i want to finish it so i can put a review up. I really dont want to keep reading this but if i do there will be a review on it. Probably not going to be a very nice review😂
(Btw the photo isn’t mine i got it online, i read most of my books on my nook so i don’t actually have a physical copy of it)

This is my 1st review on my blog, i am reviewing Caraval by Stephanie Garber. I really hope you like it, i know im just starting and everything but i would love it if you also leave an opinion about what you thought about the book (if you read it) because i like to hear other peoples opinions on books and talk about the books which is why i made this blog.😊 Anyways thanks for taking the time to even read this and hopefully you will enjoy my review💜
So i read caraval in the last few weeks of april and i really liked it i gave it 8/10.
Summary: Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.
But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.
Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.
What i liked: I liked the circus (or whatever it is) just the whole idea of this “Caraval”. I enjoyed Julian and Scarlett’s character alot and i thought that the plot was very interesting. I also thought that the world building was good as well.
What i didnt like: The ending. I feel like if this book had a better ending i would’ve given it a 10/10.
Thoughts on the book: Here im going to explain why i didn’t like the ending. 1. Legend: So at the end it turns out that the guy who was “Legend” wasn’t actually Legend. And Legend is actually Julian’s brother and the love story with their grandma is real but there is no curse on them as scarlett thought. Honestly wtf. Like that’s the lamest plot twist ive ever seen. It’s like the author started not to give a fuck towards the ending and just wanted to finish the book already and that’s how that “plot twist” ended up in the book.
2. The Magic: So it turns out THERE IS NO MAGIC! You just have to believe and thats basically it! I can not explain how dissapointed i was with the ending. Basically the fake Legend kills Julian and he’s dead like actually dead then Scarlett goes to this tower where her sister is and basically “Legend” pretented to be in love with Tella. Tella was horrofied when she found out and then her dad came in and was like “lets go we’re leaving” and tella commited sucide because she would rather be dead than go back with her father. So she’s dead and later on “Legend” tells Scarlett there is no wish. Then she goes to where Tella is and “believes” so that her sister will come back. Longstory short both Tella and Julian come back to life and Tella tells her that she knew all along that she could bring her back to life so that’s why she killed herself. ???? How the hell are you so sure she’s going to bring you back to life? Like ok but what if she didn’t?? Honestly it should’ve been that she actually got a wish and wished for Tella’s life and Julian’s life back. Which is another thing like before she got told that there was no wish she was like struggling on deciding whether she should save Julian or Tella. She literally could’ve used one wish and saved both of them, nobody said that she could only use one wish on one life like its never that hard.
3. Julian: After Tella comes back to life or whatever they go to this like after party and that’s where she got to talk to Julian for the 1st time since he’s been dead. He tells her that he’s Legend’s brother and that he was an actor there and all this other crap that were just the worst excuses for acting how he was with her at caraval. Then the ending with Tella was like fine or whatever but personally i dont care enough about Tella to want to read the next book.
Overall i enjoyed it but the ending just sucked idk maybe it was just me who didn’t like the ending. I dont have anything bad to say about the writting i thought it was good as well. Thankyou for reading this review i know im like a nobody😂 but i really appreciate that you took the time to read this💜💜 . I would certainly love to hear about your opinion on the ending and just caraval in general.
