ONE YEAR OF DEMONETIZATION: A SUCCESS OR FAILURE:
On November 8, 2016, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, while exercising his powers under Section 26 of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, had declared the currency notes of Rs 500/- and Rs 1000/- as being derecognized as currency. With this declaration, he set a panic within the citizens, when such de-recognition was made with effect from midnight.
While stating the reasons of increasing corruption, scams and tax evasions, he had stated that this step was in furtherance of bring the cash flow back in the economy. The ministers had also argued that this step would have a long term effect and would gradually help in the increased GDP of the nation.
However, as could be observed, nothing as such happened, the term of demonetization was only met with large serpentine queues, a large number of deaths due to nervous shocks, cashless ATMs and helpless banks, who were not even prepared for such huge crowds.
One year has passed since this blasphemous declaration and in that one year, this step has been rightly called as “organized loot” by Mr. Manmohan Singh. Unlike the estimated revenue growth of 15-20%, it has merely reached up to 6-8% and has also been accompanied by a drastic drop in the GDP, which was supposed to grow.
Further, it is also to be noted that the Central Government did not think twice before applying the provisions of GST in the nation, which, rather than helping the economy, only made things worse. With the lowered GDP and the suffering middle and lower class, GST only helped in increasing the tyrannical states of the struck people.
When RBI reported that 90% of the cash had been submitted to the banks, questions arose towards such an unplanned step taken by the government, which was supposedly meant to bring about accountability.
After one year of demonetization, all that can be stated is that, as rightly stated by Mr. Singh, demonetization was a “monumental mismanagement”. It was nothing but an improper and unplanned political policy by a government, who has still not been able to satisfy the reasons for taking such a drastic and problematic step.

Making most of ur mobile apps
Engagement isn’t a term you hear mobile developers talk about a lot, but with thousands of apps being introduced into the Apple and Google ecosystems every day, competition is fierce and maximizing the time spent in their app is top of mind for many developers.
Focusing on engagement is a huge step to taking advantage of that growth, especially for the Free-to-play (F2P) games offering In-App Purchases (IAP) that have risen to dominance in their category. F2P games games account for about 90% of the estimated $30.3 billion dollars in mobile games revenue over the course of 2015.
To put that in perspective, that’s slightly larger than the U.S. coffee industry.
The wider app economy is even bigger. Developer Economics estimates that the total market size for apps will be $143 Billion by the end of the year. That’s a huge number, but every single user has a finite amount of time and money, making maximizing engagement the best path for developers to get their piece of those mobile gaming billions.
Think acquiring users is tough? Turns out that just getting a user isn’t enough. According to Teradata, 70% of people who download an app have either deleted or completely stopped using it within 30 days. This is where engagement comes in.
A good engagement solution integrates seamlessly with an app and actively incentivizes users for doing what you really want them to do: use the app. The big winners in mobile right now win consistently, and they do so because they know that the install isn’t the end of the journey for a customer. They rely on the customer engaging with their app.
Using Engagement Makes Monetary Sense Great engagement can definitely increase revenue, but it’s not always a straight line. Enhancing engagement complements traditional user acquisition methods and well-executed ad implementations for maximum lifetime value (LTV) per user without taxing development resources.
It results in higher direct revenue in the form of IAP, which makes it ideal for the many F2P games dominating the charts.
Higher engagement also boosts ad views which incrementally increases developer revenue. Experienced developers can use engagement tools not only to reward their best players, but also give everyone more reasons to keep playing.
Ultimately, good engagement tools are great for both players looking for more, as well as developers seeking healthy ways to support their businesses.

5 Things to Consider During eCommerce Website Development
Web development is complicated. In any project, there are a multitude of aspects to consider, from user experience to performance. Development of any enterprise website is a large-scale, complex process, but an eCommerce site presents its own particular challenges. Since users will be coming to the site to learn about and purchase products, developers will want to do everything they can to make this process easy and intuitive. But alongside the considerations of usability, here are a few other aspects of an eCommerce site that developers will want to be sure to consider during the development process:1. RESPONSIVE DESIGNThe use of mobile devices to access websites is continually growing, and eCommerce sales are a large portion of this traffic. In fact, statistics show that by 2017, over one fourth of eCommerce sales will be made via mobile. This means that it is incredibly important to make sure your eCommerce website is optimized for mobile, providing the best experience for users no matter what device they are using to access your site.Implementing Responsive Design to make a website accessible and usable on every device is important for the success of an eCommerce site. The customised OYE CMS is an especially powerful tool for eCommerce sites, and OYE boutique eCommerce is designed to automatically implement responsive design. Other CMS platforms can utilize responsive design, but they require extra configuration. But whatever platform you use, you’ll need to be sure you keep mobile users in mind for every aspect of the site, from basic navigation to checkout and payment, since this ever-growing group of users can’t be ignored.2. SUPPORT GUEST CHECKOUTSCompanies with eCommerce sites will often want to require users to create an account in order to make a purchase, since this allows for follow-up communication that encourages future sales, as well as tracking customers’ demographic information to analyze sales. However, it’s important to remember that not everybody wants to go through the process of creating an account in order to buy a product. Repeat customers will want to register and get the benefits of having an account, such as saving their information for future purchases and receiving notifications about upcoming sales, but it’s still a good idea to provide an option for people who just want to make a one-time order.OYE tip: Since you’ll still want to try to encourage users to create an account, you might try to design the purchase process to allow users to complete a guest checkout, and upon completion, allow them to create an account using the information that they just entered.3. SITE SEARCH IS IMPORTANTStatistics show that 30% of visitors to eCommerce sites use search to find the products they are looking for, so it’s important to make sure the search functionality is available and easy to use. In addition, it’s a good idea to utilize features like autocomplete to help users find popular products or items related to their searches.Faceted search is another important way to help users find products. This functionality allows them to narrow their search in a variety of ways, including by department, size, price range, manufacturer, etc. Providing this functionality gives users more power to find what they need, letting them limit their searches to exactly what they are looking for.OYE tip: In order to make sure searches return the best results, make sure product information is fully defined and well organized, which will allow for faceted search and better search results in general.Learn more about how Episerver Find provides powerful site search capabilities.4. SECURITY IS ESSENTIALAll eCommerce sites should support SSL to encrypt information that needs to remain secure. This is especially true for credit card and payment information, but also any customer information like address, phone number, email, etc. Customers have an expectation that their personal information will remain secure when they make a purchase online, so ensuring that SSL is implemented is not just a good idea, but something that is absolutely essential for ensuring that your customers trust that their information will remain secure. In addition, security is required to meet PCI compliance for any business which accepts credit card payments.OYE tip: Don’t store credit card numbers in your site’s database. While it might seem like a good idea to keep card information on file to make purchases easier for customers, keeping this information stored on your servers is a huge security risk, and if your database is compromised, you will be liable for that loss.Is your site secure? Learn more about SSL here.5. OPTIMIZE SITE PERFORMANCEIf your site is slow, you’re likely to lose customers. Statistics show that 40% of users will abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load. This is especially true for mobile users, who are often multi-tasking as they access websites and are more likely to move on to something else if a site is too slow.In order to keep from losing customers due to slow load times, you’ll want to make sure your site is optimized to run as quickly as possible. Here are a few ways to help your site run more smoothly:Combining a site’s JavaScript or CSS resource files into single files will speed up their interaction with the site, because users will only have to download one JavaScript file or style sheet rather than five or ten.Compress images, which will allow them to provide the best visuals at the smallest possible size, reducing download times.OYE tip: Use caching to reduce the time spent sending data between the web server and the database server. Are there any User Experience (UX) issues negatively impacting your site? Sign up for our Mini UX Review to find out!Keeping these aspects of an eCommerce site in mind during development will help you ensure that you are providing the best experience for your customers, but there are many more elements to consider when developing your site. You’ll want to make sure you are planning for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and keeping your product data organized, as well as considering how to target your content to different users, and any number of other aspects to keep in mind.Do you need help understanding how to get started developing your eCommerce site? How has demonetisation slowed our economy
Yes demonetisation has definitely slowed our economy here are the reason for the same: India is an agricultaral, mostly unorganised cash economy. The GDP share of agriculture was 75% in the 1950's. Today it is down to 15%. The population depending directly or indirectly on agriculture, in 1950's, and in 2016, have remained a steady 55% (please take into account that we are now close to 2.2 billion). Now mind you, The demonetization was announced at the start of the Rabi season, when the farmers need the cash flow the most. (We did not have a cashless economy, and they need hard cash to buy seeds, saplings, manures, and what not) So apparently, the indian farmer with a lack of cash wasn't able to get the output that usually is there. You must be aware of farmers commiting sucide. That is not at all the same as people dying in the queues for new currency. The unorganised sector was destroyed. The craftsmen never had bank account. Many of them went broke and where out of business. Not condeming niether appreciating the move, very bad timing of the decision and even pathetic application. And mind you, India's chief constituents of GDP are our unorganised sector (cannot deny it, we are still a developing nation.) No wonder we are at an all time low of a GDP growth rate of 5.7% I am not an economist but a media analyst by profession and study buying trends of customers so am exposed to these facts and figures when we study the rural figures deeply.

How to Create a Brand that Attracts New Customers Like a Magnet.
By Sanjeev Kalia So there you are – you’ve developed a marketing campaign designed to drive prospects to your website. The results have been pretty good and you have a lot to be proud of. The problem is that none of the new visitors are doing what you want them to. Whether it’s getting them to download an eBook, sign up for an e-newsletter, or buy one of your products, they aren’t converting. If you’re like many people with this problem, the first thing you do is to examine your marketing campaign to find out what the trouble is. Are you targeting the right people? Are you sending the right message? Are you driving the clicks you’re looking for? Tips and techniques to make your brand stand out. Perhaps the starting point in any discussion about a brand is to define what a brand is. There are hundreds of definitions for a brand, so I came up with one myself that has held up pretty well over the years. Here it is – a brand is composed of the spoken and unspoken messages a consumer receives about your product and/or service. In other words, a brand is the essence of your company articulated through your logo, your ad campaigns, your color scheme, your tone of voice, your corporate culture … pretty much anything that touches the consumer in one way or another. A good brand takes many years to develop, but there are some steps you can take to ensure that your brand is as attractive as possible right away. Want to take a look at the steps? If so, check them out below. Step 1: Look at companies within your industry and identify best practices. If you’re like most businesses, you have 3 to 5 competitors who are about your size and who are competing for your customers. Visit each one of their websites and take an honest look at their messaging, their aesthetics, and their overall approach. If you’re in marketing, you’ll instinctively be drawn to the one or two best ones. Figure out what they’re doing better than you are … and copy it. Yup, that’s right, copy what they’re doing but put your own spin on it. (It’s not illegal, provided you’re not stealing intellectual property.) Step 2: Look at companies outside your industry and explore their techniques. The best companies work very, very hard to ensure their brands look pristine. A good place to start is to look at what Apple, Coca-Cola, Starbucks and other top brands are doing with their websites. Examine what you like and what you don’t like about each website. Take note of the best stuff, and toss out the rest. Step 3: Take an honest look at your own brand. How does it stack up to the other brands? Are the other brands more polished? Is their messaging clearer? Do their websites hold together better than yours does? If so, keep re-visiting their websites for several days in a row. As you come back for another visit, you’ll start noticing more and more of the things they do to make their brands sizzle. Step 4: Begin incorporating what you see from the best brands into your brand. As I said, there’s no law against being inspired by your competitors and the best brands in the world. Keep an eye on what they do to differentiate their brands. In some cases, you’ll be able to incorporate their best practices into your own brand. In other cases, you’ll want to hire a marketing firm or a designer to take your brand to the next level. Final point – remember, none of what we’ve just talked about matters unless you take action on what you’ve learned here. Don’t just read this blog post … instead, do the work. By taking action and doing the work, you’ll end up with more prospects converting into customers. And that would be a good thing. Master the art of negotiation in 7 simple steps.
Here are 7 simple steps to help you win every deal. Step 1: Smile (and have a sense of humor). Remember, after the negotiation the people at the table do not disappear. When the deal ends, you'll be doing business together so be nice, have fun and make friends when ever possible. Step 2: Sit together (be on the same side of the negotiating table). When you sit across from others, you're often seen as the challenger. You want to be on the same team, and friends sit together. Lose the table, or find a glass one because transparency and closeness is the key to friendship. Step 3: Find out what problems they want to solve (then help them solve those problems) In 'one-win-everything' we have added a new technique to negotiating, it's called 'helping'. Discover the other side's problems, then help them solve them. Simple. Step 4: Never get angry (No matter what - don’t get angry). Someone will probably offend you, it’s nothing personal so don’t get mad. Take a calming breath in, then out. Think, one-win-everything. Step 5: Ask 'how does this effect the rest of the world'? If this is a win for all, move forward. If not, figure out if and how you can make it a one-win-everything before moving forward. And if you cannot, walk away. Step 6: If someone is rude, start over (return to Step 1: Smile). Begin again - never let others influence you in a negative way. Instead, do your best to influence them in a positive way, or just walk our politely. Step 7: Never say no (instead, give the other person an 'mpossible "yes, if"). This is a very sly Dalai Lama negotiation tactic... never say "no". Always say, "yes, if", then add an impossible clause and walk out of the deal. I hope you'll only use your new found negotiating powers.

Seven new tech innovations that will save your business time and money
Seven new tech innovations that will save your business time and money Have you ever had a day when you were crazy busy but still felt like you didn’t get anything important done? If you spent most of the day attending meetings, answering emails, or doing administrative work, you probably didn’t get a chance to focus on high-effort, high-impact tasks. If you feel you too often find yourself spending a big part of your days on low-impact tasks, it’s time to explore new ways to stay productive. At the end of the day, the quality of the tasks you approach and size of the problems you solve will dictate how much money your business brings in. Low-impact tasks, like meetings and staying on top of correspondence, can provide a break from high-concentration work, allowing you to get back to your desk refreshed and more productive. However, they can also quickly get out of hand. In 2014, consultants from Bain & Company made a chilling discovery about how much time can be wasted with meetings. In analysing the schedules of the employees of a large company, they found out that a single weekly meeting was taking up 300,000 hours every year. 300 thousand hours! Just imagine what the company would have achieved if the employees had spent those 300,000 hours working on important tasks! And what about email? A 2015 study concluded that workers at companies with 1000+ employees spend 40 per cent of their time on “meetings, administrative tasks, and ‘interruptions’.” 1. Make sure you are using existing software efficiently Everyone uses programs such as Microsoft Excel, but few of us know how to use them efficiently. The vast majority of Excel users will happily waste hours a day conducting repetitive tasks and never question what they’re doing. If you don’t have an Excel prodigy on your team, you may want to consider the ROI you would get from hiring a part-time consultant. Companies such as Excel4Business will pair you with an Excel consultant to help you automate processes, solve one-off problems or provide training to save you hours every week. 2. Optimize your sales efforts If you took a hard look at your sales process, what would you find? Is it lean and efficient or do you often find yourself inundated in unqualified leads, forgetting to schedule follow-ups, confused by analytics, or losing track of prospective customers at the top of the funnel? Luckily, great software exists to address all of these problems. Take a look at this list of the best lead management solutions for 2016. If you don’t feel like installing and adapting to new software, HubSpot’s free CRM for small businesses would be a simple solution to help you keep track of your interactions with clients. 3. Keep your team updated Remember the company that wasted 300,000 on a single weekly meeting? People often don’t realise that meetings should be used for discussing possible solutions, not giving information. If you feel that you waste hours every week updating your team members on what you’ve been up to or keeping track of overlapping deadlines, try Asana, a project management tool that helps you organize projects, allocate tasks and track progress in real time. 4. Make emailing easier Sorting through email can be a slog. Remembering when to follow up, finding out if your email was ever opened, sending emails at the best time of the day – who can keep track? Actually, Followup.cc, a Gmail plugin, can. This tool will send you notifications if someone has opened your email, send you reminders for follow-ups, and control when your messages land in someone’s inbox. If you think that sending emails in the middle of the night is unprofessional (not to mention annoying), you can just use Followup’s Send Later function. Draft your emails whenever you get to it, and schedule them to be sent out at 7:30 am the next day. 5. Create an internal wiki Few things are more annoying that being interrupted from an important task by someone asking you a question – especially if it’s something you’ve already answered several times before. If you’ve been through this, it’s time to develop an FAQ section for your business. You should have this in place for your customers, but it’s equally useful for team members. A workplace wiki should include things like shared logins, images for marketing purposes, templates for invoices and contracts, shared logins and more. It can be a simple Google Doc, as long as it’s easily searchable. If you often find yourself explaining how a piece of software works, you can use a simple tool like Camtasia to record yourself while you explain. You can share the resulting training videos with new team members and even kill two birds with one stone by leveraging the videos on social media. 6. Keep social media from taking over your life Social media can be fun, but when you’re using it for business it can easily take up hours every day. A tool like Hootsuite will save you lots of time and energy. You just need to create a post once and use the platform to control when to publish it and on what platforms. 7. Change your habits The tools above could save you hours at work every day, but they won’t help your productivity unless you make some behavioral changes as well. The best habits to boost productivity include: check what your priorities are before starting work, don’t read emails first thing in the morning, lump similar tasks together, make sure you set aside two to four hour slots of uninterrupted time for tasks that require concentration, stop using your devices just before going to bed and, of course, get enough sleep. Technology can boost your productivity, but only if you learn how to prioritize and take care of yourself first.
