The idea of writing. Fin started when Ivan, Emir, and Kane were hanging out during semester break. They made a joke that most of Loner Lunar’s songs they had written was too “sad and emo” yet they also wanted to create something a bit different and more energetic as if the adrenaline was rushing. Emir randomly talked about the process of death and how he could not image how every soul would depart from their bodies and he recited that it was a painful process. We could not imagine how painful it was yet we ended up digging about how holy books of different religion depicted the process of death and it came to conclusion : death was a departure. death occurred when the spirit left the body and every soul would experience death. Those recalled the experience Kane had during high school year when she was taught that there was an afterlife and we would be having to be liable or our own actions during judgement day. These would later become some sort of constant reminder and fear of death which later she comprehended as fear of getting into the unknown : it felt like jumping into the abyss and letting ourselves become the abyss— terrifying, nerve-wrecking, exciting, and most importantly inevitable. Those findings and random conversation were not so serious after all, they laughed about it. As the day continued, glimpse of moments filled the gap of time. Later the euphoria that arose while the sun was setting welcomed you home. This was the highway of regrets and wishful thinking that reminded you of life and its capability to contain and let go of everything including yourself.

Were you the ones who rushed back or the ones who immersed with the remaining warmth of the sun before the night fell and the moon appeared?

After the blue hour, the dawn arose in silence as the sun peeked through the crisp branches welcoming the cold morning during winter time in Midwest. This was a rather calm morning after blizzard the night before. Everybody was still coiled up in their thick blankets when I opened the sliding window to get the sun inside the kitchen. There was this vertical rainbow popping above the house of my neighbour's across the lawn. It really got me in amazement knowing something was probably ascending as the day started.

Walking around the neighbourhood during blue hours was a routine whenever the staying in the new place. The neighbourhood where this picture was taken located in the hill and there were resided by old people. This was identified by the architecture style of most of the houses giving it a nostalgic feeling whenever people looked at each house. There was something about ageing houses with warm dimmed lights : your mind would probably create the scenarios of how the people grew in that house, passing through time so endlessly under the tiny roof and garden. 

During this blue hour, this particular house radiated its inviting nuance welcoming the ones who saw it to come closer and eventually knocked on its door.The tiny giants defied the warm welcome by doing the contrary : leaving the safe space.

The prolonged rainy afternoon are some of the most awaited time because everything takes longer to happen when the sky gets somber and the night is falling. This image was developed during the prolonged rainy day and the impromptu afternoon walk in the rain around the neighbourhood. It was an eery experience knowing the chances of getting struck by thunder became bigger than usual. However it was also a beautiful time to witness how everything became slower and quiet as the rain and the temperature dropped. HIDE AND ASCEND was part of collaboration I did with SWARA AGNI for its artist's debut release: FUREA and its single HIDE. Creating the visual interpretation of the song slowly eased me into the cloudy one November I experienced with my late friend Jehuda on impromptu afternoon hiking last year. The song brought me back to the time I spent laying down on the ground with Jehuda looking at the branches of the trees slowly intertwined with each other while the wind gracefully blew. Jehuda told me about how trees communicated using its tiny branches. Oh how he loved plants and forrest. He would not stop talking about the tiny details about it.
