Alexa, play “Pieces of Me” by Ashlee Simpson. . . . . No but seriously it feels like sometimes I’m falling apart, like I’m in a million places and no where at all at once. But then I get my shit together and make some art, and everything seems ok again. I hope you’ve enjoyed my foray into photoshop, I still have so much to@learn but I’m gonna keep at it. Happy Long Weekend :) #photography #photoshop #portraitphotography #surrealart (at Quarantine Zone) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAlIMmhjscl/?igshid=1d13ghgvqq5e

Meet Agatha Miles, the antihero in the novel I’ve been working on for two years. She wears the many faces of her past like masks at a costume party, using magic to get what she thinks she needs out of people inexplicably attracted to her. She has a darkness inside her only surpassed by her curiosity and drive. But where does it all end? You’ll just have to wait for my book to find out. But first I have to finish it. Hope you like her, and my heavily @cindysherman and @annieleibovitz inspired quarantine photo. #bookstagram #characterplay #photography #portrait #quarantineartclub https://www.instagram.com/p/CATFFBCDi5F/?igshid=4x90y2bpqxuh

I’ve been struggling lately to find the self confidence, motivation and courage to be the creative person I want to be. This weekend was a first step in a long journey of self exploration, self love and self care.
For those of you around me who have always believed in me, I thank you sincerely. It has not always been easy to trust in the words of assurance you spoke, but hopefully now I can find truth in them, and start believing in myself again.
Here’s to many more posts,

It’s a little bit of a tradition of mine as a new year approaches to collect some physical data on myself - I have a self-portrait session. I look at myself through my own lens - at my body, my face, my hair, and my soul.
It’s my way of setting an intention while being introspective - without so much of the mushy gushy language I see plastered on social media come January 1st (I get it, lots of people to thank). I’ve learned recently to love myself, to allow myself to be imperfect, asymmetrical and to own the fact that I am going to make my life what I want it to be. I’m the catalyst to any changes I want to see. Me. No one else is going to start that fire.
So here I am, on January 1st of my 30th year on earth - ready to be powerful, raw, classy, creative and a little dirty. Who’s with me?

I took a studio lighting class not so long ago and in our final class we got to have some fun and recreate some of my favorite photographs. This is my studio interpretation of a classic Cindy Sherman photo: Untitled #92.
Posting this reminds me that I need to get back on my Studio Sunday game. Who wants to be a model?

I’ve heard a lot about In-N-Out over the years. And while every time I look at these pics I get hungry, I think there’s a lot better burger out there.
Stay hungry my friends.

Yeah, this is like me headed into work on Monday: “Yeah, I guess I’ll get dressed and go with you guys, but I won’t be happy about it.”

There are so many animals in New Orleans. It really does feel like home.

If you’re a music lover like me, New Orleans is the best. There is a never-ending supply of jazz, soul, funk and pretty much anything else you’re looking for. If you’re heading down, get your dancing shoes on and get ready to move. Like all the time.

Sorry in advance for the flood of photos from New Orleans. What a breathtaking, amazingly vibrant city with so many smiles. I can’t wait to go back. Seen here: Snapshots from the Chewbacchus Parade, Mardis Gras 2017.
