A mion is a term my friend Lyana came up with. It is a mix of mouse and lion. Meaning most of the time I am mousy but if someone angers me or hurts my friends I will hurt them in turn. I am very obsessive and my loves shift in and out of focus so be prepared. Things to keep in mind: *any gifs used on this blog are not mine.

I didn’t have a weird Barbie. But I did have a dollar store barbie that my mom accidentally stepped on…twice. So the doll lost both of her legs and I couldn’t find mobility aids for Barbie in the store so I would make wheelchairs out of popsicle sticks but they were shoddily made and too big. So most of the time Barbie had to walk on her hands to get around.

I'm still bitter that Penn Maid stopped making yogurt. Specifically I'm bitter that the Apple Pie yogurt flavor no longer exists.

Just caught up on The Bachelor.
It took me several hours but I finally figured out who the Estonian “grand witch” reminded me of. Lillian from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt!

I love the play scene on New Asgard so much. Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth returning is so funny to me on so many levels.
In-universe, it implies that these two random theatre actors were two of the very few survivors of Ragnarok, that they moved to Earth and then KEPT DOING THE SAME PLAY.
And out-of universe, it implies that Taika Waititi, having previously called them for a "quick, one-and-done silly cameo" called them back up and said "hey, want to do that again?' and they both said yes.
Which, iconic.

So I finally saw Thor Love and Thunder.
Mom couldn’t follow it (I didn’t expect her to). Dad didn’t hate it (”it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be”) which is all I can dream of for him when I show him Marvel content.
Overall I enjoyed it. It made me laugh. I loved the queer rep that finally got through and onto the screen of this franchise. And it dealt with grief, love, and loss well.

honestly i don't know whether taika waititi identifies as straight but if he does, he is certainly the only straight man who takes being a gay icon as seriously as he does. i certainly don't see any other directors self inserting themselves into a marvel movie just to get gay married in said marvel movie. legendary move

End credits scene #2 in Love and Thunder... let's talk about it (obviously spoilers below)
TW: Cancer, death
Valhalla is only for warriors who die during battle (as established in Sif's scene during dialouge that seemed to be just throwaway lines at the time). Jane didn't die until after the literal battle with Gorr was over.
In other words, Jane doesn't go to Valhalla for dying bravely during the battle with Gorr. Jane goes to Valhalla for dying bravely during her battle with cancer, and I just think that's a beautiful statement about people who are fighting severe, severe illnesses.

the year is 2012.
I have two tabs open. one is tumblr. I am 160 posts back on my dashboard - I have made it back to the place I left off the night before.
satisfied, I open the second tab to pull up a post-avengers fanfic. everyone lives together in stark tower - each of them has their own floor. for no explained reason, loki shares thor’s. no one questions that he has not been arrested. the team has friday evening movie nights. at breakfast, thor eats all of tony’s pop tarts.
I am content.

Our Flag Means Death feels like a show whose creators did a thorough amount of research into what they were portraying, then decided they didn't need about 70% of what they'd learned. there are all these little details and allusions that are totally historical, peppered in with shamelessly deliberate anachronisms as they make things funnier/cooler, and the end result is a delightfully theatrical mismash that calls back to the entire history of pirate film without aping anything in particular
#our flag means death#childhood me is living for this show#childhood me who was obsessed with pirates is elated#and let's be honest#me at any age is elated

Ummm…okay I can’t believe that happened. Will Smith really punched Chris Rock. I almost thought that was a bit until they cut the audio.

Is it just me or do Gabby and Rachel have some good chemistry.
I just think it would be cool if they fell in love with each other though The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise.
#the bachelor#the bachelorette#I know we don’t ship real people#but they are giving off some vibes#it’s giving gals being pals if this was a fictional show

I saw Cyrano yesterday. And here’s the thing, overall I enjoyed it. It’s a love story. It’s a musical. It has one of my faves, Peter Dinklage. But Peter Dinklage is a weak singer.
He’s fine. He just has a deeper baritone (?) voice that sounds kinda like a dad at church. Meaning, most of the time he is probably trying but it sounds like he’s just kinda saying the words.
But I think meaning and plot wise it kinda works for the story that he isn’t a perfect singer.
Cause the point of the story is that Cyrano is disfigured in someway. This version (instead of going with a large nose) gives him dwarfism. And because he has been treated badly and told his whole life he’s monstrous, Cyrano doesn’t think the woman he loves could love him back.
On paper their words are romantic and flow. But in person they keep any romantic feelings to themselves.
Back to the singing, Roxane falls in love with a guy named Christian. He is more traditionally good looking. He has a good singing voice like she does. Buuut even though Cyrano doesn’t have the best voice I would argue that he harmonizes well in several songs. He is there and he is supporting the song. He isn’t the first choice but his voice is still worth listening to.
