And more! Okay so I went and looked at all my big boys who needed a face and matched some who felt good! Honestly for Tachi and Oze I’m so happy because I already had written down their fish species and those felt like it fit right :D Tachi is probably going to be some sort of bright colour and Oze a light silver grey.

And for Osna, same ! Even better! I just loved the tiny design of the back of the head of this fishman with the little space buns so I worked on giving him a face and with the big mouth and Osna’s chill and warm personality, a basking shark was perfect. Osna is one of the other believers in the Sea Religion Biri follows and he’s nice and quite fatherly. He appreciates that she kept the beliefs going despite practicing alone for most of her life. He used to be close to Jimbe and stayed very sour about his decision.

So I wanted to pick a few directly from the manga and adapt them a little :) right now, here are the first sketches and it’s a bit of a mess but it’s fun. It’s a good way to see how Oda worked those designs and I’ll do the adaptation to my style later …

He’s not in the manga but there isn’t too much design that would fit another shark ! This is a rough design for Tarao, a short fined mall shark :D Quick bio, he’s part of the « managers » like Take and Shioyaki (3rd position in the hierarchy), is very human averse and is a very good raid planner. A very organised shark man, something that clashes quite a lot with his life parter who is prone to loosing and forgetting things, Tachi.

Making more of my OCs canon! Could I find the proper scans rather than taking pictures of my manga? No, what’s the fun in that? This really was a blast, I’ve said it times and times but I love Oda’s style in Arlong Park. Everyone looks young and fresh and it’s all squishy ✨
