It’s not my place to say, but honestly go read the comics for yourself on ReadAllComics.com (use an adblocker when you’re on there) If you can’t access it, I’m pretty sure there’s people who have them on a PDF, or you can use a VPN

You can search up the reading order. Learn to make your own decisions upon what you’ve read. Maybe you’ll understand people’s issues and praises of the comics once you do read it.

And also, don’t expect it to be sunshine and rainbows with a clear cut “good vs evil” in the comics. The comics are more geared towards older audiences who have more brain power than an 8 year old, and can grasp the concept of how nobody is supposed to be the good guy in a war.

i never read the idw comics;idk where to read them. But as much as I wanna give at least idw a chance, idk if i could stomach it cuz i've heard bits and pieces about the idw comics and story, and then when i look at the idw fans, it makes me a bit comfused.

so at least from what i'm told, IDW Megatron is basically the worst kind of Megatron in the entire TF franchise, doing absolutely everything despicable and deplorable (and apparently shockwave is the worst there too??) but.... he kinda gets a good ending.......? where him and rodimus and ultra magnus go on a fun adventure..... (and apparently rodimus, ultra magnus, and megatron are in a relationship????)

again idk i've never read the idw comics and i dont have money to buy them anywhere, so im going off whatever the fans say/do or whatever content i see. so its really jarring to me that the (supposed) worst version of megatron gets a good ending in the end...... and all IDW fans love that Megatron? I dont really get it cuz of what I hear abt Megatron, and that he gets a good ending. Why does he get a good ending? Not even TFO Megatron gets a good ending (not that he gets a BAD ending either but I mean he did get banished to the surface) and as far as I know he's a coughing baby vs Hydrogen Bomb IDW Megatron.

Also is it true that IDW Optimus just dies in the end and everyone (in universe) is shitting on him? I did hear that the IDW Autobots (especially Prowl) are horrible just like the Decepticons, but then how does all of that work? Why are the Autobots just as bad as the Decepticons? I thought the Autobots were supposed to be about freedom and peace, and the Decepticons were about war and tyranny.

Is Optimus evil/bad in IDW?? I did hear that he's definitely meaner and more edgy compared to all other Optimus, so I guess it makes sense if that he's just as bad as Megatron (committing the exact same genocide as Megatron) and he gets bashed for it; but then why does Megatron get a good ending for it, and he gets kind of a bad ending?

Where is JAZZ in IDW1? I almost never hear about him. He's always just a chill guy in TF media, I just can't imagine Jazz being a bad guy like what I hear about the IDW Autobots. I may be misremembering, but Bumblebee is dead in IDW right? Why? I mean if the Autobots are evil like the Decepticons, then thank god that Bee is dead because like Jazz, I can't imagine Bee being evil and stuff, but then wouldn't that have been good to have a pure heart amongst corruption?

I wanna give IDW a chance but aside from the lack of accessibility (and trust me i've tried to use 'completely totally 100% legal sites' to read ir look for them, but either the sites are banned in my country OR its not on the site), it feels like the story is really confusing and completely 'out there'. I'm not exsctly a new TF fan in a sense that I've only ever watched the cartoons when I was a kid cuz it's the most accessible TF thing to consume here, and the cartoons were pretty clear cut in who is evil and who is the good guys. But this is the first time I am branching out of the cartoons and looking at other media. (I actually never even watched the Bayverse movies)

Sorry to the admins cuz I realize Im using this confession as asking for answers kinda thing but I don't want to be attacked bc I don't know the 'deep lore' about IDW, and I feel kind of stupid to ask or publicly post about my lack of knowledge....it feels like everyone knows the deep lore abt TF and really love IDW, meanwhile poor me is just super confused about the contents and the fandoms reaction to it ;w;

Anyone of any gender can be pregnant but lbh has some great gender fuckery in svsss and being pregnant would fit great into that. Well, it’s both my preference and my skill limit, so I pour everything into the line art stage. 💀 Still, despite my absolutely trash-tier coloring skills, I add colors anyway because… without them, it might look like some no-lore cringe mess OC—and that terrifies me. 😭

Outsiders are not not saving a language by learning it.

While I’m personally grateful services like Tribalingual exist, creating some academic access to Indigenous languages, particularly for Indigenous diaspora (if they can afford it), I’m extremely dubious of the notion that a outsiders learning an Indigenous language is somehow “saving” it. There was a testimonial from some white American girl learning Ainu itak, and she spoke of it as if she were collecting some rare Pokemon card before it went out of print or something, framing it in typical dying Native rhetoric. What is she going to do with Ainu itak, except as some obscure lingual trophy?

If you want to save a language, save the people.

Language means nothing without history and culture breathing life into it, and in turn we are disconnected from our history and ancestors without it. Support Indigenous quality of life, ACCESS to quality education, quality health services (mental and physical), land and subsistence rights, CLEAN DRINKING WATER, advocate against police brutality and state violence, DEMAND ACTION FOR MISSING AND MURDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN.

Damn, if you really want to “save the language” pay for an Indigenous person’s classes for them to reconnect to their mother tongues. I’m not saying outsiders shouldn’t learn languages they’re invited to learn, but don’t pretend like you learning conversational Ainu itak is saving it from extinction.
