As some may know, I started writing a Conquest x OC-centric fic titled "Reap What You Sow," (also posting it here in my Tumblr) in which I kinda wanna deliver a redemption arc for Conquest, and I got a few thoughts to share about my thought process.

Comic spoilers ahead, just in case you're only following along with the Amazon series:

I call it a "redemption arc" not because Conquest gains a conscience and feels bad for his actions nah nah, it's because it revolves around in a timeline where he doesn't take the L in the Viltrumite War and instead lives to see the Empire take a very wild 180 from a violent regime to one that actually allows Viltrumites to have emotions without the urge to vomit.

So, basically, it's Conquest having to come to terms with this new direction his people took for the sake of survival. As well as dealing with his own inner turmoil, and confusion while being accompanied by the weirdest Viltrumite therapist to ever exist (my oc, Hyde).

Conquest is dealing with depression and loss of identity cus his services as a literal nuke for the Empire are no longer needed, his name has no purpose anymore. I imagine he's torn between not wanting to go on and not wanting to take the easy way out. He SHOULD have died in that battle, but almost like a cruel twist of fate, he didn't.

Say it's Nolan's whole drifting into space segment as he contemplates the reality of things and dealing with emotions he had buried for years, except he's just one sneeze away from burning it all down.

Then we have Hyde, who is trying to help him see the universe from a different perspective, with temperance and empathy, and find a purpose. And Conquest just tags along begrudgingly because lashing out wouldn't be as satisfying as he'd hope it would be, and he's already too disgraced to even return to his people having his ass handed to him twice by a kid. (Yes, I say Mark is a kid in Viltrumite standards, hydrogen bomb literally beaten by the freaking coughing baby x2)

That's as much as I'll say without spoiling too much, so yeah.

One time I made a Tink oc and didn't do a whole lot with him sadly. But I still think about him pretty often.

His name is Krauser/Ghost Eye. He is a Devil Rider and used to be part of Rose's gang albeit against his will and later betrayed her to help the Vault Hunters instead.

i realize I've been saying "zark" in my head this whole time, but is that how xark is meant to be pronounced? or is it more like "shark"?

For a while now, I have been slowly developing some fictional races I hope to use one day in a story...For now, I have them pretty well thought out enough to classify them. It's pretty exciting fleshing them out ngl, so I plan to start gathering everything about them here.

Helian: Dimensional entities born from raw cosmic energy. Highly intelligent and curious, capable of faster-than-light travel and dimension-hopping through portal creation. [X]

Modern Helian: Evolved Helians, transformed due to eons of exploration and studying, all developing unique physical traits allowing them to adapt and further expand their expeditions. [X]

Human/Helian hybrid: Artificial creations done by acquiring human souls merged with Helian energy as an act of desperation following a cataclysmic event that nearly wiped out the Helian race. [X]

Angel: Hedonistic tulpa entities with abnormal features mimicking human beings, neither alive nor dead, intelligent and cruel, endlessly seeking souls to finally complete themselves. [X]

Xant: Malevolent energy-feeding entities drawn by strong negative emotions, residing within pocket dimensions tied to technological devices, luring living sapient beings and acting as parasitic cognitohazards. [X]

So what can you tell us about xark?

Xark was very much inspired by the many iterations of Sonic.exe that have popped up as of late, however it is not related to any of that at all.

He isn't a demon, he is what I would calla "Xant", a personal fictional race of eldritch entities that thrive off of fear and misery. He manipulates reality through people's consciousness, and more than often he drags people into his pocket dimension that resembles something straight out of the backrooms.

He's eloquent and calculating, and very persistent.

The heights are based on what this wiki says, tho Mark and Conquest don't have specific numbers, I just went by whatever I considered was the closest to 'accurate'.

Making my oc taller than Nolan and Mark just so I can imagine him bending down to talk to him (or even Debbie and Cecil) cus it's fun.
