i'm planning to knit the lumme pullover as my next big sweater project and i'm struggling to decide the main color for the project.. my contrast will be white, and i'm trying to choose between these for the main color:

not feeling my best, both physically and mentally, so there probably won't be much in the way of art until i'm feeling a little better :')

merino + silk mohair fingerless mitts, with cables and a diamond pattern :) these are the softest thing i’ve ever made, i can’t wait to wear them this autumn!
pattern (it's free!)
yarn is merino by knitting for olive and soft silk mohair by knitting for olive, both in the color 'pomegranate' :-) i used less than 50 grams of each ball in total.

I just wanted to come on here to say that I originally started following you for your Killing Eve content (your art is beautiful, and Eve is my favourite character so I love that you draw her when she’s so under appreciated, especially in comparison to Villanelle.) However I have started to appreciate both horses and knitting because of your creativity. Thank you for sharing your art, and if there’s ever a time where you are sceptical to share any of your work, know that so many people would love to see your beautiful creations. You are exceptionally talented.
thank you anon!! :'D while i love villaneve equally, eve is definitely underrepresented when it comes to art (at least in my experience) and i suppose i subconsciously made it my mission to get very good at drawing her! there's something about her that's just so fun to draw, espeically her facial features and not to mention her hair!!! i actually find villanelle a lot trickier to capture properly when i'm drawing her.
and wow, it makes me happy to hear that you've begun to appreciate horses + knitting :D i think my blog is an interesting mix of topics at this point, which i really like. there are definitely times/phases where i feel insecure about my art, hesitant to share it, but i will keep that in mind :') thank you anon, this message means so, so much.

It's been awesome watching you learn knitting and making really nice knit things, and it's also been inspiring because the other day I saw a really cool pattern for a knit color work sweater and low key I've never knitted in my life, but having watched you do it, I want to try
I probably couldn't do a sweater for my first knitting project, but man do I want to work up to that because that sweater pattern was sooooo cool
thank you!! and you should totally learn! :D a sweater may seem far off when you're just getting started, but it's really not. at least it wasn't for me, one of my early projects was a sweater which turned out lovely! i would recommend learning the basics of knitting through smaller projects (perhaps you'd enjoy a new pair of mittens or a hat for the winter), and then learning the basics of colorwork with a smaller pattern too, there are lots of beautiful colorwork patterns for hats and mittens (and socks if you're feeling adventurous).
i'm not sure you saw, but the sheep hat i posted just recently is, according to many people, a very good first colorwork pattern. it wasn't my first colorwork so i can't confirm or deny that claim, i can only say it was a very enjoyable project! and very quick too, because of the aran weight yarn.
if you do start a knitting journey, good luck anon :D

i have such admiration for your art, both in terms of your knitting skills and in your drawings. i come to your blog time and time again to view the things you've made (especially the polaris "yellow light" artwork) , and i can't help but appreciate the colors and technique. it's so expressive. i feel as though i can see your passion through it. i am utterly in love with your art. it's captivated me. i hope that, one day, i can feel as much passion for a craft i enjoy as much as you do with art and knitting. i don't exactly have any hobbies, and it's so difficult to face something you have no knowledge of; stumbling into it with failure, but your little knitting updates give me a bit of hope for myself. also, your sheep hat is so cute! i love it :^)
wow, thank you anon :') this message means more than i can say, especially right now! all of my art means something to me, but my polaris artwork is a little extra meaningful for some reason. she's a being and a feeling that's existed in some way within me for many years, i've only recently been able to make artwork for her! i'm so glad to hear that she's captivated you as well.
it's so true, that facing something you know nothing about is scary. i've been drawing for as long as i can remember, but oh, knitting! that was so new. i'd never done it before, only once in school when i was about 10 years old and my scarf turned out so wrong that the teacher laughed at it (ouch!). i didn't touch yarn for many, many years because i thought i was no good at it, and i didn't know how to face it. but then something washed over me and i wanted to learn! every new hobby is incredibly overwhelming, knitting is just the same. my first few attempts weren't that great, but i kept trying and somewhere along the way i just learned. my advice for a new hobby would be to start somewhere, anywhere, even if it's overwhelming and even if you're bound to fail at first! i learned that, for me, it didn't work to start with very basic simple squares and scarves, i wanted mittens for the winter and it turned out that making mittens is what taught me how to knit properly, because i truly wanted them.
i'm happy that my little updates provide some hope, and i have hope for you too anon :^) i'm more than certain that you'll find something to feel just as passionate and happy about. sometimes it's the hobby you'd least expect to like that ends up becoming your thing!
(and thanks!! i love it too :D)

i finished my lovely, woolly baa-ble hat! i knit it in about two days, gave it a wash yesterday, and made the little pom pom today. ive wanted to knit this since i first got into knitting last fall, and i finally made it. i think it’s my favorite thing i’ve made so far, just because it felt so good to finally knit it :-)
i knit it in lettlopi, which turned out so warm and soft especially after washing it. i can’t wait for winter so i can wear this.

i have lots of knitting to look forward to this summer on top of my ongoing projects. the lettlopi is for my baa-ble hat and the knitting for olive is for a pair of fingerless mitts, because i had a sudden strong urge to knit myself some red ones. it’s my first time trying silk mohair, which should be interesting :-)

current knitting projects to keep me sane; a nice warm brown raglan sweater and a pair of cabled socks, knitted two at a time to prevent second sock syndrome :) i started the sweater months ago and got quite far into the body section, then i put it away to work on other projects. i picked it up again this week! i started the socks two, three days ago.
