“hey,” you hear immediately after you answer the phone, you’d know that voice anywhere. it’s rodrick, your boyfriend. “hey babe.” you say as you look away from your apush work for a moment, “so…” just by the so you know he has an idea, this can’t be good, “my parents are not home.” and this is the precursor to a possibly terrible idea, “they went to something stupid for greg.” he mutters, “anyways i was thinking; you, me, and a movie.” okay not a terribly bad idea.

“i would but i’m just so interested in my apush right now.” you say, sarcasm dripping from your voice causing him to laugh, “i’ll be over in 15.” you say with a small smile as you get out of your chair, “cool baby. you, me, and a movie in 15.” you smile a bit wider and slide your shoes on, “i can’t go if i’m on the phone with you.” he chuckles, “bye baby.” “bye.”

now was the plan to fall asleep on rodrick? of course not, but here you are half awake half asleep, your head hidden in between rodrick’s shoulder and neck. you would have gotten up if it were not for the sigh you hear behind you, mr. heffley. but then a ray of hope in the darkness that would be being banned from your boyfriend’s home.

“awe. they’re cute.” mrs. heffley says as if she was admiring a cute baby or something. “first time he’s ever not looked upset as he slept.” mr. heffley mumbles in surprise, “who knew he could smile while slept.” mr. heffley says as you feel a blanket be draped over you, “i’m happy for him.” she pauses, it’s good. it’s better than good, it’s great.” she says, you can almost hear the smile in her voice.

of all of the crazy things that happened this week, falling in love with stanley barber won second place for craziest.

“it was kinda funny.” penny says, a small smile stretching across her face, her smile diminishes the moment she sees syd’s serious face. rather than address it she just continues walking, if penny bing knew how to do anything it would be to avoid conflict. “maybe it was karma for him.” she mutters regarding brad, a chuckle escapes her lips, “jackass deserves it.”

“just don’t get a boyfriend penny.” sydney mutters, penny smiles slightly, “come on.” penny says in joking annoyance and disappointment causing syd to crack as smile, “oh cause guys are going after you in droves.” syd says with a nod, a laugh coming from her, “mhmm. i think every boy in town wants a piece of this hot ass.” syd laughs heartily as penny smiles and giggles, that statement was more than far from the truth.

the two girls laughter stops when a third voice pierces the air, well not so much so pierced but a guy talks, “oh hey syd! penny!” the two girls turn to see stanley barber, “god he’s so weird.” penny thinks as the boy runs up to them without shoes, but her thoughts are nowhere near malice. “hey.” syd and penny say in unison, they’ve lived down the street from stanley for forever.

he finally reaches them, he pushes his black glasses up before saying, “my leg fell asleep, one sec.” he begins to do yoga like activities, the two girls exchanging a glance, “can i walk with you guys?” he asks, “totally.” penny says with enthusiasm unlike syd who mutters no more than, “sure, i guess.” “cool.” stan says, the trio walks for a beat before penny speaks.

“i like the no shoes stance.” he smiles and nods to her, “i thought you would. i mean shoes, who needs em?” he says, penny smiling her cheeks dusted red. “i mean no one needs em.” penny says with a giggle, stan nods to her, syd not participating.

“uhm so bloodwitch am i right?” stan asks, “what?” sydney asks as the cogs in penny’s brown begin to turn, “are they the band that has the song that goes,” she begins to hum a quick melody, a smile spreads on stan’s face, “you like their music?” stan asks the girls, “that’s a terrible name for a band.” syd interjects, “nah perfect.” stan says, “what about you penny?” she thinks for a moment, “i’ve only listened to one of their songs but i thoroughly enjoyed it.” she says with a smile, “i bet they sound like shit.” sydney says causing penny to shake her head,

“well-i mean i have them on vinyl, limited edition, 8 fold and stuff. you guys could come over and we could listen and stuff.” “oh.” sydney says, penny stays silent, now she likes stan they’ve been lab partners before now they sit next each other but does she wanna go to his basement, “we can get high.” stan says, now that gets penny‘a attention. “maybe.” you and syd say in unison. “you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” stan stutters out,

“we’ve lived so close and we’ve never really hung out before.” he says awkwardly. “yeah, guess we haven’t.” syd and penny mumble, “maybe we should.” syd says, syd volunteering her and her friend to hang out with a weirdo (it’s a miracle). stan smiles, “cool” he points finger guns at the two girls as he backs away, “lemme know.” he says before he spins around, he walks for a bit, “what a world we live in ladies.” he says before skipping away, penny can’t help but giggle once he goes into his house.

• i mean rodricks a teenage boy so no gifts are lavish, his gift for you 6 month anniversary is a song

• it may not be a masterpiece but it’s the thought that counts.

• teaching him to do his eyeliner

• his first couple attempts were not very great but after enough bullying from greg and weird looks from his mom he finally asks you for help.

•this means that the for next 30 minutes you were trying to teach rodrick how to do his eyeliner in the bathroom
