CLARY FRAY & JACE HERONDALE (The Mortal Instruments)
His eyes were the color of honey and slid as slowly as honey over her body as he looked her up and down as if for the first time since she'd come into the room, from her windblown hair to her booted feet, and back again. When their gaze met again, Clary's mouth was dry.
"Do you remember," he said, "when we first met and I told you I was ninety percent sure putting a rune on you wouldn't kill you-and you slapped me in the face and told me it was for the other ten percent?"
Clary nodded.
"I always figured a demon would kill me," he said. "A rogue Downworlder. A battle. But I realized then that I just might die if I didn't get to kiss you, and soon."
Clary licked her dry lips. "Well, you did," she said. "Kiss me, I mean."
He reached up and took a curl of her hair between his fingers. He was close enough that she could feel the warmth of his body, smell his soap and skin and hair. "Not enough," he said, letting her hair slip through his fingers. "If I kiss you all day every day for the rest of my life, it won't be enough."

alright, let me settle some discourse right now (and probably make some individuals get mad at me):
disability is contextual.
is low support needs autism a disability? it depends. if we're talking about workplace discrimination or difficulty finding accessible events, then yes, certainly. if we're talking about wheelchair ramps, then otherwise abled autistic people are abled.
is hypermobility a disability? it also depends! in the context of medical discrimination, of course! but if we're talking about braille signs, then seeing people with hypermobility are able bodied!
is needing glasses a disability? big shocker, it also depends!!!!! if we're talking about exploitation by health insurers and the cost of accessibility, then it is a mild disability. but if we're talking about insulin access, then non-diabetics who need glasses are able bodied!!!
i hope this post can put all this discourse to bed forever because it is annoying when people act like disability is an eternal unchanging essential category when it's actually a fluid social construct and a word that describes the sociomedical position of a group of people that depends on the conversation being had. let's stop posting shit like "is wearing glasses a disability???" or "is dyslexia a form of neurodivergence???" or "are people with adhd really disabled???" because it fucking depends!!!!!!!

i’m gonna hold your hand with a glove on when i say this
when disabled/chronically ill people tell you they can’t do something, then that is not your cue to tell them that they can actually or that they’ll always find an excuse if they’re looking for one.
when a disabled/chronically ill person says they can’t do something, sometimes that doesn’t mean it’s outside the realm of possibility, sometimes it means if they (attempted to) do that, they will seriously hurt themselves.
when a disabled/chronically ill person says they can’t do something, sometimes it’s preventative care, and they refuse to do that thing to prevent a flare up from happening/their symptoms getting worse in the first place.
disabled/chronically ill people are not “looking for excuses”, they are giving you reasons why. something they don’t even have to do! so maybe just accept the reasons they give you.

It's okay to talk about something that you have no knowledge about, as long as you're honest about that.
For example:
"Here's how I think women's bodies work. Of course, I'm a man, so I wouldn't know from personal experience. I'm just taking a wild guess."
Versus:
"Here's how I think women's bodies work. And I want these laws passed based on what I think."
"Here's how I think women's bodies work. And I argue with and talk over women who correct me."
There's a huge difference.
