Ok i feel like i have to say something about this because it infuriates me so much:
the stove top in toriels kitchen DOES NOT confirm magic doesn't exist in deltarune im pretty sure it does (ill make another post later)
OK STOP USING IT AS EVIDENCE
Tumblr media
YOU DONT BAKE PIE ON THE STOVETOP !!! YOU MAKE PIE IN THE OVEN!!!
She prepares the pie on the stove big deal!
Also I'm tired of people saying she doesn't use the stove in undertale
Tumblr media
This genocide dialogue literally confirms that she does.
She PROBABLY just used fire magic because it's a special occasion or something (but thats just speculation)
Also, Kris likes to make pie with her so she probably just got used to using it and didn't feel like risking catching the house on fire.

I'm going to say it I don't like Sans He's an asshole and I don't like him. Hot take it know but here me out
If your laziness activity makes the life of people around you harder you're just an asshole.
Actually, now that I think about it I don't think he's done a SINGLE good thing in Undertale and don't mention that fucking promise because he doesn't even try to keep it because "they can just come back if they die."
Yeah, but Frisk probably still feels pain asshole. Way to subject a literal kid to horrific pain because you're too lazy to stop people. Now that I think about it is he even capable of feeling pain? When was the last time ACTUALLY he got hurt? 1hp ahh mf
I'm just saying disagree all you like but your precious little bone man idea you got in your head is going to shatter into a million pieces when he shows his true colors in Deltarune.

I've always thought of this dialog from Asriel in his battle I mean it has to mean something right? Theirs no way he just drops this HUGE lore dump about dying equaling erasure from existence for no reason. So I had this idea and made this art hope it's good... considering making an AU based on this theory but Idk yet.

I thought of something really funny! So you know how the knight looks similar to papyrus but with antlers? My theory is that in ch 5 the festival will be Christmas-themed (based on Carol ) so everyone will dress up in Christmas attire. Papyrus will be wearing an antler headband and Susie will mistake him for the knight and kidnap him.

-SPOILERS FOR DELTARUNE CH. 3-4-
Been thinking about it a bit, and I've come to the conclusion that the egg man is *probably* papyrus.
Here's what we know about the man behind the tree so far :
He gives us eggs they are described as not important but not unimportant: won't change much in the story but will probably affect... something?
We learn from the playstation achievements that gaster doesn't like the egg man and probably considers them a threat or more specificly an "issue."
The egg man has meta knowledge about deltarune, the long wait in-between chapters how the world originated.
The man does art and finds it therapeutic encouraging kris to do the same.
The man can be "found" in the light world in ch 2 in a car and in ch 3 so we know he is a lighter.
The man knows of dark fountain locations (could be from meta knowledge?)
I feel like it has to be papyrus because who else would it be?
Lets start by "debunking" all candidates:
All darkner candidates: is seen in light world impossible without soul gaster conspiracy nonsense unlikely
All girl candidates: tree man is a man this is not up for debate.
Gaster- impossible, Playstation achievements prove this, he wouldn't withhold the competition achievements if it were him.
Sans - no.
Asgore- we get to see the man in a car outside of the library in ch 2 asgore owns a red truck and is not the same as the grey car we see outside.
Rudy-he's sick and your telling me he goes out of his way to buy a carton of eggs and walks ALL THE WAY OVER to the dark fountains with a possibility fatal illness? I don't believe it.
Asriel- if it were him it would honestly be really weird because he's he's SUPPOSED to be at college rn not pranking kris, go back to studying nerd.
New character - not a darker, as I stated before, so it would be someone new monster character who is anonymous for some reason? Eh.
And then theirs papyrus who checks all the boxes:
- meta knowledge (*cough cough* reset papyrus theory)
- indirectly associated with Gaster, could totally be a threat to him if he wanted to.
- is known to make paintings and art as a hobby
-egg
- idk if he has a car or not, but he probably does (he could totally get one if he wanted to)
-"forgettable"
-In ch 2 sans mentioned asking papyrus about his schedule, and in ch 3 the man tells his schedule to kris
This is just a personal observation but honest they talk pretty similar and his personality probably changed being that on the surface (we see from the anime board in the library that being surface changed alphys opinion of dark and edgy content and personality's can change and relationships can differ from undertale.)
I haven't fact checked or thought too hard on this theory bc it's not really what this blog is for, so some parts might be wrong or missing, sorry.

Deltarune is coming out really soon so I’m not going to be posting anymore evidence until around a week after it comes out. I’m super excited for it and hope to get more info on papyrus if he’s in the new chapters but I honestly don’t think he will be :(
feel free to send asks if you have any questions or evidence you want to share but understand that I won’t be answering any until the game has been out for at least 7 days as to not spoil anyone.

It's inferred that the existence or rather knowledge of resets is the cause for sanses depression which actually paints a sad reality for this theory.
Papyrus found out about this super cool power he has and tells his brother about it, only for sans to come to the conclusion that because papyrus can basically rewrite and control the timeline, nothing he does matters.
he saw no need in taking care of himself physically and emotionally because "my choices don't matter." leading him to become lazy and extremely weak.
They honestly probably got into fights with each other about resets pretty often some fatal ( I talked about this in a previous post) probably because sans is very passionate about never using resets again and also because death isn't permanent for either of them, but papyrus HAS to (you know because his 1 hp brother won't take care of himself and keeps dying.)
I also find it interesting that sans IS a secret boss you can't fight normally and ALSO went insane with meta knowledge. Makes you think, doesn't it...

Sans and papyrus have powers related to text/Google document functions
Allow me to explain them:
Cursor: looks like bone
Names: sans and papyrus font
Blue bone attack: text color change
Blue magic: highlight text
Flying: drag and drop text
"Shortcuts" (teleportation): cut and paste (ctrl+x - ctrl+v)
I feel like this explains mostly everything about their powers
( Technically, save and load is a Google/ Microsoft function as well, but I'm just gonna ignore that for now...)

see like now i wanna know why sans and papyrus apparently keep fighting to the death??? i kinda always thought those lines of dialog suggest more that sans is just like- rolling nat20s on his pereception checks or wtv, especially since we know in general he's just very observant. Idk, just like, why would papyrus, a complete pacifist to the point he makes his attacks stop doing damage once the player is at 1 hp, be in a situation to fight SANS of all people to the death?? This either has more lore than the entire game theory channel or is ooc and idk which one is more likely atp. Still it's interesting to think about.
This is a good question WHY would papyrus do something like that? It's hard to believe Papyrus would do something as horrible as kill his own BROTHER, but I think I have an explanation(mostly speculation rn so take with a grain of salt).
You see in undertale their are actually lots of little details about papyrus that imply he might no have been a bit good person in the past. I'll explain this idea in a later post bc it's a rabbit hole I'm telling you.
Think back to the moral of undertale, to the point the REASON behind true pacifist.
Forgiveness and change
The idea that anybody can change even if you don't think so. You just have to try.
I believe papyrus used to be a bad person but someone or something changed him, and now he's taken a vow to never kill anyone EVER again and to help people who used to be like him change for the better.
I understand that this part of the theory is kinda... unbelievable? It's very out of character and sort of insane to think about. I'll try to expand this concept later with a full post.

What I find interesting is the genocide dialog sans give in the judgment hall after he kills you.
Every time you boot up your save and talk to him he reads your expression and guesses (correctly) how many times you have died. I find this really interesting as it implies that he has seen someone with save points die multiple times, so much so he can tell how many times they have died just by their facial expressions.
I find this interesting because it implies that papyrus dies on multiple occasions for some odd reason.
I figured at first it was that papyrus was just dying to random encounters, we learn from a phone call with him that he IS aware of them and from the way he speaks it just seems to be a regular occurrence for monsters to attack each other.
Except that Really wouldn't make sense, your telling me PAPYRUS would die to random encounters? Yeah right, we all know he's the strongest monster in the underground.
But this begs the question: If papyrus is dying on regular occasions, WHO is killing him?
IT'S SANS!!
Ok, I can explain. You see, in the judgment hall, if you kill sans and go back and fight him again, he says THIS dialog.
"that expression you're wearing..."
"well, i won't grace it with a description."
After thinking about his dialog I've come to a shocking conclusion.
Papyrus and sans fight to the death on a regular basis.
Think about it it's the ONLY way he could acquire this kind of knowledge and retain it, if it were flowey for instance ( just to note he doesn't believe flowey is a real person I'll explain this in another theory later.) He wouldn't be able to retain this knowledge without fighting multiple times with varying results of the saveholders part something flowey most definitely wouldn't do, he HATES him wouldn't touch him with a 40ft pole.
The ONLY person it could possibly be is Papyrus, and I find it very, VERY interesting.

If you think about it papyrus having a save explains why sans isn’t already dead. 1 hp? Not a problem when your brother is literally a time traveler.

Big fan of saveholder Papyrus theory HELLO!!
I don't have anything significant to add unless I get into wild theory territory but I would like to add that even if Flowey has told Papyrus predictions- Flowey wouldn't be able to remember the pacifist ending because he doesn't remember true resets. So Papyrus telling us about the King trimming a hedge in the shape of his smile is something he most likely remembers from the pacifist ending himself.
That’s actually super interesting because it implies papyrus got a true pacifist ending but for some reason didn’t keep it?
