if you ask me, the guy who put the sword INTO the stone should be king, not the chucklefuck who got it out.

Hey! It’s me, the new SCA fighter from a few months ago, who asked for some advice! I’ve come quite far and thought you might like the update.
I just returned from my first event, War of the Lilies in Calontir. I fight out of the Barony of Forgotten Sea, so it was close to home. And fantastic! I could only go for the last Thursday and Friday, but boy what a time! I took classes, met people, attended my first court, and got formally authorized to fight!
I’ve chosen a name, and inherited some garb, and I’m looking forward to learning more about anything and everything. My armor kit is coming together too! Thank you for your encouragement, and advice, and welcome. I’m so happy to find this society, this hobby that’s actually 500 hobbies in a trenchcoat, this group of fellow nerds. To many more wars, and with much gratitude!
All the best,
Sindri
Welcome to the dream, Sindri! This makes me so happy and excited for you. 💚🤍 I hope that you continue to find joy and friendship. I want to hear all about everything, please.

I’m responsible enough to have a knight I think. I’ll take good care of it and feed it and take it on walks and everything.

if this post gets 50,000 likes then the king has agreed to let me out of the dungeon and return to my own fief and call off the war between our lands

This hit HARD. I highly recommend this read for minority bodied fighters. The reflective prompts are excellent. I cannot thank this author enough.
