i miss diluc😔it’s too bad we didn’t get to spend more time w him and the mondstadt crew, they really did have a cute dynamic. how was he after what happened at the ball and what made him choose to go after mc? what about after he got stabbed and was rescued by lumine? does he still keep tabs on her? do you think they ever could have had a romantic relationship? thanks hehe^^

Not a day passes where i don't think about Diluc in this series. Ong. After Lumine saved his ass from being taken to Snezhnaya, I believe he had to take a very extensive break and be closely supervised by Mondstadt's healers and even knights. Irionically, the knights he hates the most would the best at keeping him safe after a near kidnapping. I can imagine Kaeya getting his knight friends super involved with amping up the security in Mondstadt and Dawn Winery.

If we look at House of Madness, we get a sweet little moment where Mondstadt wine shows up in Snezhnaya for the first time in forever, because Dawn Winery suddenly just decided to export them in time for Childe's and MC's marriage anniversary. That was of course Diluc's doing, and not an accidental one. I made it as a sign that he is still keeping up with news about her and Childe, keeping a watchful eye, looking for signs that he or the knights need to get involved in something. But as you imagine, Snezhnayan newspapers would never post a bad article about their Harbingers so naturally there was no bad signs or news. Everything looks perfect to an outsider's eye. So Diluc's way of keeping tabs is pretty useless in general, but must help his guilty concious (i cant spell, forgive me)

I do think they could have had a romantic relationship IF (and thats a big if) MC got more time in Mondstadt. Let's say a full year away from Childe, just enough to make her guilt subside and paranoia soften. I do think Diluc would have been a great partner for her because he would be a perfect example of another rich influental man who is NOT a manipulative contriving dictator- oops got carried away.

After reading your last post, do you plan on having Childe's and Mila's relationship change to be more healthy? Because I'm obsessed with the plot, and I hope they can be healthy together! If this too spoilery to answer, I completely understand! Thanks for writing such an interesting series

I do want their relationship to change for the better! But I also do think it would be difficult to prove or showcase that they are in fact fr fr healthier in just one book...

My plan for fixing mila's and ajax's relationship consists of a few key points. And I use the term fixing very lightly here, because there truly is no fixing. Only rebuilding.

Key 1 - Seperation, completely distance, learn to live alone. This is like one of the most important things they need to understand before they can actually be together

Key 2 - Therapy, more confidence regarding Abyssal trauma, more confidence about self-worth. Second most important thing is Childe not being so trauma-focused when it comes to their relationship. The moment he doesn't need or see her as a comforter for his abyssal sorrows, is the moment where they can actually be something again. And reader needs to relearn how to exist completely.

Key 3 - Friendship first then relationship. Mf these people didn't even date before they got married. They don't know jack-shi about each other's love-languages or expectations or wants. I mean they kinda do now but instead of looking at whether they are actually compatible, they try to force the other to not exhibit behavior that they find unpleasant. The day the two can have a geniuen conversation without fear, judgement or hatred (bonus if a smile is included) is the day they can actually think about dating.

Key 4 - Atone. This one would like need a 100 years ngl. A whole life-time of atonement. Go back to every rule Childe gave MC and atone by supporting the opposite. Go bake and cook if you want and ill eat every bite. Go walk outside in the garden and to the local town alone, its fine. Have active friends male or female, and we can all hang out together sometime. Things like that.

Key 5 - Relocation. Now... i know for a fact their relationship isn't surviving in Snezhnaya in any shape or form. Especially not the mansion or the villa or wherever. Too much trauma, too many bad memories. Grassy meadows are needed.

These are like the 5 most important parts I think need to happen. Whether they will i cannot reveal so simply ahahah buuut i imagine the best way to make their relationship happy, is to give them a long-distance relationship, where there is no stalking involved, no rules involved, friendships welcomed, hobbies and dreams lived and supported, visitng each other every month or two to be together for a couple of days AS PARTNERS not wife and husband cuz... yeah. how about they date first for once? ahahahah

How do you think Childe and Mila’s relationship would be different if they had a kid? Would Childe’s trauma spill over to his kid? Do you think he’d be a good father? I know damn well Mila isn’t in the right headspace to be a good mother😭 Oh also do you think Childe would treat a daughter different than a son?

okay okay okay now this is a super interesting question!

I do think their relationship would change, similarily how it changed when they were in Morepesok together or when Teucer was with them in Liyue. It might not be too different behind closed doors, but in front of the kid Childe would never dare pull off any of the dangerous bullshit. Childe wouldn't be hiding the fact that he is a Harbinger like he did with his Teucer, but I do think the meaning of it would be very softened and very sanitized. You know... no foul play or bloodshed happening. Just princely duties. And I do think MC would loathe that. If they would have a kid she would already be in a very shitty headspace and would lowkey need to be monitored, so Childe suddenly acting all nice all homey like he does in Morepesok would be so disgustingly off-putting. Why can't he be like that with her ya know?

That being said, I do think Childe would be a good dad in a context of just loving the kid and doing virtually anything to make them have the best life possible. skipping work to build pillow forts and feed them hot coco at 3 am cuz the kid cutely asked type-shit. But we've seen how un-censored and not very-pg-friendly mc and Childe were with Teucer around, and how Teucer was getting some poor lessons about relationships while he was there and just observing, so that'd be a minus. Buuuut if we do take into account how he acts in Morepesok, and then apply it to home-life with a kid, I don't think it would be as noticable as it was in Liyue and with Teucer.

I don't think he would treat the kid differrently if they were a boy or a girl though. I geniunenly believe he would just be happy to have a kid in the first place cuz the way his marriage is shaping up to be he ain't ever getting what he wants the most - a family.

【Ａ　Ｌｏｖｉｎｇ　Ｐｒｏｍｉｓｅ　－　Ｇｅｎｓｈｉｎ Ｌｏｏｋｂｏｏｋ】 Pt. 1

A long time ago, I said I would make a post with all references I used for my characters throughout my fanfic series. I am very bad at tumblr and very bad with posting here so I kind of forgor...

This is part 1, because there is a limit to how many images I can upload sigh...

𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨!

【１．　Ｈｏｍｅｔｏｗｎ 】

These knitted russian outfits I found on pinterest were perfect for my vision of Morepesok. We know very little (for now) about Snezhnaya and what regular folk wear over there, so I leaned into my slavic roots and searched for some organic east European patterns, knitted stuff and bulky coats/hoodies. This type of outfit is something our MC was wearing during the proposal.

Not exactly very homey of him, but I have referenced this specific outfit and this specific coat so many times I just had to include this in the basics. He did wear this coat when he visited Morepesok and proposed to MC, so I believe including it here is very fitting.

That dang coat would be everywhere later. MC gets a matching pair, but without the Fatui regalia.

【２．　Ｗｅｄｄｉｎｇ 】

For the wedding look I knew I had to go with something extremely princessy, extremely over the top, extremely white and sparkly. I found these dresses which were gorgeous! Silver accessories, white as snow, puffy, corseted... I loved the layers of ruffles and the flowy look.

This Childe outfit on the left lived rent free on my mind ever since it started existing. It is very royal but also militaristic, with iconic Fatui regalia and that fluffy coat making it a perfect look for a formal occasion. The image on the left was more-or-less directly referenced when talking about Childe's wedding suit.

【３．　Ｆｏｎｔａｉｎｅ　Ｂａｌｌ】

For the Fontaine ball I struggled a lot to pick a dress that fit the aestetic I set with the entire book, and with Fontaine's specific steampunk style. I went for a mix of already established aesthetics and some general shapes that reminded me of the dresses we see on Fontaine npcs. As result MC got a burgundy dress with many layers and frill.

For Childe I suffered a lot trying to find a specific reference. He had a black suit which was tailored to fit him perfectly, paired with a burgundy corset (to match MC, of course) that he wore instead of a blazer. The image on the left is more lore accurate, but the colors and accessories on the right image better fit what I had imagined. Though, he did wear it with sleeves rolled up.

【４．　Ｆａｔｕｉ　ｂａｎｑｕｅｔ】

I had a lot more freedom with this banquet. Naturally, I kept Childe's signature's colors and his preference for over-the-top theatrics. So MC gets another princessy dress with sparkle and layers upon layers. Though this dress did have that specific Fatui coat over it, which I included in the first look on Childe's side~

This kind of royal attire was very fitting for a Fatui banquet, where Childe is a part of the elite. The way I wrote Snezhnaya and the Fatui heavily implies that the Harbingers are viewed as royalty, having the title bestowed to them by the Tsartisa herself. I imagine it to be a coronation of sorts. So these kind of outfits just scratch an itch in my brain whenever I think of Harbinger Childe.

【５．　Ｍｏｎｄｓｔａｄｔ】

The runaway era where MC escapes to Mondstadt. I love Mondstadt's medieval aesthetics, so MC got a outfit that could help her blend in with the citizens, and a long cloak to hide under. I'm sad I didn't explore many fits while she was in Mondstadt, but I always imagined her wearing something like this!

Childe arrives to Mondstadt for a short time, just to collect his runaway wife, so he gets no special outfit here. He stays in his uniform throughout it, and throughout most of the series.

【６．　Ｄａｗｎ　Ｗｉｎｅｒｙ　ｂａｌｌ】

The Dawn Winery ball was held by Diluc, and our MC was a special guest. She was invited as Diluc's plus one and got this gorgeous green gown from the excited maids. Full of ribbons, decorated by golden accents, frilly, loose sleeves and cleavage, these references are perfect for what I imagined.

Childe pulled up to the ball uninvited of course, there to steal her back. Literally steal her back. This was a kidnapping.

I wish I included more descriptions of his outfits because going back to the story I wrote sooooo little for such complex outfits. But let us see. Black and red suit. Check. Royal and elegant. Check.
