Rosetta took one of the ear buds and tapped along, mouthing the words. She played an air guitar and bobbed her head, getting into it. As the song ended, she had a wide grin and turned to him. “Final thoughts?”

Dewey’s gaze shifted to her, grinning broadly. He offeredthe other earbud. “I don’t think NoVacancy has ever sounded quite so great.”

Rosetta bit her lip, watching him with nervousness. She was afriad he’d call it crap or laugh at it. When he smiled and complimented her, she blushed and smiled. “Thanks. I spent so much time that day fixing and switching the words. The band got a little annoyed.” She chuckled

                          Dewey reluctantly removed an earbud                           to listen to her. Heshook his head viciously. “No! This isbetter than any crap they could think up… this is really… it’s sweet.”                           Hequieted again, listening to the song.

“Oh, sure! It’s not very good and I’m pretty rusty on guitar but, yeah.” Rosetta pulled out her phone and headphones. “I recorded it with my cousin’s band when he was away.” She smiled handing him the ear buds and pressing play

                          Dewey slid the earbuds into his ears, shifting closer.                            Hisfingertips hovered over his ear, as if he could                           feel the music. He started tomove with the familiar beat.                           His heel tapped against the ground, keeping time                            withthe song he had to play a dozen times. But the words…                           Dewey’s lips curled intoa smile. “This is… really good!”
