"I would know? Well, no, I don't think I would." Yukwon replied distractedly, recalling the rushed directions he had been given, trying to remember where to turn. Why couldn't he have slowed down a little while giving him the directions? They weren't in any kind of rush and it wasn't like they were about to get killed or anything. They already passed that time for the night. "I'll let you know if I ever do get locked up in a basement though."
He didn't reply to Daehyun's statement, settling for humming a song by 10cm as he drove, glancing at his passenger every so often. Maybe he had gone too far with the teasing. He wasn't usually like this to people he didn't know all that well but for some reason, it came naturally with the assassin. He felt familiar to Yukwon but at the same time, he felt wary. He was reminded of his teenage years on the streets because he had heard that Daehyun was young, and to have skills as as assassin at an age younger than his own, a tough childhood ensued. There was also the chance that during his teenage years, he could've been in the other's position. It made him want to keep his distance, he didn't need those useless memories.
But there was something else that made him want to at least try to talk to him, to at least try to get to know him, though he didn't know what it was. "Do I turn here?" he asked, turning to glance at the other male who had turned away from him. He sighed. The silent treatment again, huh?

Yukwon had to take a few minutes to consider the question. Would he continue to entertain him? Eventually he shrugged, taking a sip of the alcohol in front of him. "Depends. Your gibberish might make sense, though it could also sound like you're trying to communicate with aliens." Hoya was, in one way, a sort of entertainment for him. He was someone who kept Yukwon guessing, wondering what would happen next: sort of like a magician. In another way, he was a weird kid stuck in a 22 year old's body and Yukwon had no idea why he continued to talk to him.
But then again, maybe he needed to talk to people like Hoya. To brighten up his dull lifestyle a little.
He snorted when the host feigned hurt over his question about the unicorns. "I don't think it's going to want to take you anywhere if you knit it an ugly sweater," he replied with a slight shake of his head, wincing slightly at the mention of Hoya knitting him an ugly sweater. Firstly he really didn't want an ugly sweater, and secondly he didn't need it. He probably had enough jackets and jumpers in his wardrobe to last him a lifetime. "I'll pass on you knitting me an ugly sweater, thanks. You can knit yourself one instead."
Yukwon shrugged at the question of what he did for fun. He didn't really do much outside of the warehouse or the garage. "I look after my car, I guess, maybe race a little," It was only then that he realised how routine his life was. He was either at the garage or at the warehouse, every once in a while dropping by the red district where some of his transactions would take place. If not, he'd be sleeping at home. "And sleep."
Man, he really needed a new hobby.

"Do you get enough sleep if you stay until that late?" Yukwon wondered aloud, glancing at his mirrors. If that was the case, he could pick her up after a shift, but it depended on the timing of the race. In his experience, the bigger ones only started after 10 pm. It was common to see cars zooming by earlier than that if you were in certain areas, but the races he attended were always closer or after midnight.
He hummed, listening to her speak. Ah, so that was what she did as an escort. "If you're comfortable with it, I guess that's okay then," So chances were, most of the young girls with the old men in the casino were escorts... or not. He didn't really want to know. What they chose to do and whatever they did in their spare time was for them to know and for Yukwon to close his eyes to. And his ears. Besides, it wasn't a dangerous job if she put it like that. All she did was keep people company in the casino. "But still, keep an eye on your surroundings. Anything can happen."
"Luckily you did." He chuckled, taking the card from her with a nod of his head in thanks. Placing it face up on top of the dashboard, he turned off the car and pulled his keys from the ignition. At least this way he wouldn't have to get a visitor's pass or risk having his car clamped. His car meant a lot to him, so the thought of it getting clamped made him feel uncomfortable. Getting out of the car he followed her into the building, looking around curiously as they made their way into the elevator.
"No more bright colours?" he joked, leaning against the side of the elevator. "That's fine. Mine is too." But then again, he had never been one for flashy colours in his room. His room back at his parents' house was painted a shade of beige and his current apartment was painted a light brown. "Well.. maybe it's more boring." He added as an afterthought, rubbing the back of his neck.
Talk That — Reina & Yukwon
“I stay until 2-3am every day,” she informs him as a sort of reassurance that there was a high chance he wouldn’t wake her up. Unless he happens to go out street racing past the time she went to sleep, in which case she’s then wondering why people were so willing to race during such unearthly hours until the sun began to slowly rise from the east side of the city. It’s not a big difference technically in the darkness of the sky but somehow to her the difference between 1am and 4am was still so completely different. One was close to night and one was morning for her.
She smiles softly at first, but the smile soon lapses into a small sealed lips as she wonders just how much she should reveal to the other before it would be considered unacceptable or even dangerous for the two of them. “It’s not that bad,” she doesn’t know what crosses his mind, but she feels that she should at least make some clearance before a misunderstanding formed. “I simply talk to people and keep them company around the casino.” She doesn’t mention her other side as an Intel body nor the fact that she’s swindling the people out of their money. “It’s not dangerous.” Not with all the people watching around them so carefully.
She doesn’t directly answer him, simply nodding and reaching forward to where she placed her bag and grabbing out a small card like object and hands it to him. “I carried it just in case for today. It’s to show that this car belongs to someone in this apartment.”
Eventually parked she leads him to the back door where she fumbles for the key in her purse. Opening the first door they enter the elevator before she hits the button to her floor. “My apartment’s rather plain…” she warns him ahead of time, briefly remembering all the floral and butterfly designs that decorated her first bedroom. The one he visited the most often. Those days were gone now.

"A rush of adrenaline? I guess so. Maybe they were bored or didn't have a choice? But everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do." As soon as the words left his lips he wondered what his reason was. He had always been interested in taking things apart, finding out how they worked and putting them back together again, and so his friend had offered him another job that let him do that — becoming a weapon dealer. Why did he accept the job? Maybe it was because at the time he was still trying to find a place where he belonged? Though surprisingly, joining Scorpio had been easier than expected, but it could've also been because he was recommended to one of his current seniors.
"Me?" Yukwon repeated. He hummed, calculating the years in his head. "Five, maybe six years now? I got the job a little after I dropped out of middle school. Never been good with my head." He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. Not like hyung is.
"Well, if you want to stay, could you help me clean up a little?" Taking a look around, he sighed. "If you could help me clean these tools while I finish off the papers for this car, that'd be great." He thought about staying back to properly clean up the garage that his co-workers never bothered to look after, but then thought it was no use. Old habits died hard, and some people wouldn't understand why he bothered anyway. It was also late. But having the stranger around made it less lonely and oh, he hadn't introduced himself yet. "I'm sorry, I don't think I've introduced myself yet. I'm Yukwon."

Yukwon nodded as the boy in front of him repeated his words, his own eyes glancing over the simple yet complex inner structure of a modem. It was something he understood only the very basics of, very much like a telephone. He understood the fact that they had to send signals between towers and the computer for it to actually gain access to the internet, but even then 'signals' weren't the right word to use. It apparently used 'tones', but of course, he still had more research to do on them. "You did look like you were just about ready to break it open with a hammer." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
He wondered why the stranger in front of him wanted to know how it worked.
Maybe he was just curious, like Yukwon was, or maybe he had some other idea in mind. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to help him some more, right? "Well, I guess it depends on what kind of modem you've got here. Is it a dial up or an ADSL?" Glancing at the stack of books beside the male in front of him, he noticed that they were all computer books. Someone interested in computers then? Pushing the thought aside he tilted his head and hummed softly in thought.
"I only know the basics of how they work, but here, I'll show you what I know anyway." He added on an afterthought, pulling his chair closer to the table so he could comfortably lean his elbows on the desk. With that he started pointing to various parts, naming them for the boy, explaining what he knew about each part. He hoped he wasn't going too fast. He had never been very good at explaining or teaching others.
[Past] The Basic Foundation — Youngjae & Yukwon
He kept pouting at the black box like how he’d always pout at his Noona whenever she refused to give out the answer. But then again he supposed the stupid thing would remain unaffected because, well, it was an inanimate object constructed from plastic and metal and completely incapable of emotions. It wouldn’t yield to his pathetic expressions and hardly could suddenly and mysteriously open up to reveal its secret innards.
Quite astonishingly (and many times more plausible than the modem disassembling by itself like some sort of sentient transforming robot), he found a screwdriver within his view, held out by the male occupying the same table. His mouth fell open with a little ‘oh’ but he was quick to snap his lower jaw up and grin. Happy to let the other work his magic, Youngjae sat back and watched with the eyes of an awed child as the older began to nimbly fiddle around with the screwdriver and fit the head into tiny holes he hadn’t even noticed when he began prying the case open.
“The body, the lid and the screws,” he echoed back at the stranger, scrutinising each in turn. Well, he gave a cursory glance at the lid and the screws—he wasn’t interested—and stared hard at the innards of the modem. Looking at the shiny copper cables that ran along the green board was like reading a map, yet Youngjae couldn’t make out head or tail of the highways of zeroes and ones and what purpose each road served. There were chips that looked similar to those on a computer motherboard, yet so alien. No, he needed help in reading this map of electricity.
When he heard the light chuckle, he looked up, surprised. “It’s okay,” he smiled, remembering how an agitated elderly man had relented at his smile and tried to assure the stranger with it. “If you didn’t help me, I don’t think I’d have ever gotten the modem open.” Tentatively, almost lovingly, he ran a finger along a copper wire like he was gently stroking the back of a small and precious animal. He was, of course, more used to the conceptual hacking, of words splashed across the skin, and hardly had ever had to deal with the physical encasing of the intangible strings of code he wrote. But here, in this thin wire, it contained and transmitted all those instructions he had issued when avenging his Noona. It was something incredible.
“Could you possibly teach me more about the modem? How does it physically work, for example.”

-a little note is attached to the candy flower; it states the company and logo of it on one side while the other there's a typed message- "Happy Valentine's Day!" -a heart is drawn around the message-
/he doesn't know who gave this to him at all and he's not sure if it's his co-workers' idea of a joke by getting some company to drop this in his pathetic excuse of a locker at work, but it's a rather nice thought and hey, it's edible!/

Yukwon only shrugged, his lips turning up into a small smile. "Possibly," he started, taking note of the flirty tone behind her words. "But who says my life is boring in the first place?" That was probably the biggest lie he had ever told (not really), seeing as he didn't really do much outside of work, both from the garage and from Scorpio, but it's not like Krystal had to know that.
"Maybe I should start stocking paint brushes. I'm sure you'd put them to good use," he mused, watching her grin. "Or maybe I should just start stocking more torture weaponry for you to gain more blood from your victims. I sort of feel sorry for them now. Whoever you kill next is one unlucky bastard." The thought of her next victim having their innards painted across the walls and the floors of an empty room was an image Yukwon himself didn't fancy, but hey, if she got the job done, then no one was complaining. Besides, her next victim must've done something to piss off their superiors or someone else who sent in a request (did they even take requests?) and well, he just hoped he'd never end up on her list.
He hummed, picking up a stack of won she had set down on the table, quickly counting the notes in the stack. Sometimes he didn't know why he bothered. Krystal usually had her money organised in millions, which made his job easier, and when he had confirmed that there was indeed a million in his hand, he nodded. "A rocket launcher, huh? True, you would probably never use it, but I'll see what I can do."
copiae copie - krystal + yukwon
"Well if you didn’t have any oddities in your life you’d be quite bored now wouldn’t you?" Krystal said with a sly little grin and body made of confidence. Words can be mean entirely different things depending on the way they’re said. Her statement, if stated as it probably should have been, would have been construed as friendly teasing. However, the hitman had decided to lace her words with enough flirtatious undertones to break a cirque love-o-meter.
Grinning slightly, the woman replied with a simple, “I know~”. If she ever decided to become a serial killer SPD would have quite the problem on their hands. Tempting, her name in the paper and her work on display for all to see. It was all so very tempting. But K wouldn’t approve, and that’s the rope that holds her from it. “Bound to screw up, it happens to the best of us.” had been his statement when she asked about killing for fun. She’d brought up the Zodiac Killer and insisted she was just as brilliant. He’d replied that she could start killing for fun if she ever deciphered the letters he’d written to the police. The unfinished transcripts sat in the industrial safe in her weapons room.
"Mmmm, well I’ve always wanted a rocket launcher but I don’t have any practical use for one so…. surprise me?" Pulling a few stacks of won out of her coat, Krystal set six of the pre-sorted stacks on the desk. Organized by millions, she’d had exact piles which was nice.

When Daehyun had answered his pick up line with a yes, Yukwon's eyes widened a little in surprise, though the following lines caused him to laugh again, walking around the car to drop the duffle bag into his boot before going around to get into the driver's seat. "So you'd keep me if I followed you home, huh." He said, pressing his keys into the ignition and bringing his engine to life.
"Being locked up in the basement sounds sort of kinky though, doesn't it?" he wondered aloud, driving out of the parking lot. With a shrug he stopped at the exit, looking left and right before heading out. The fact that he didn't have a stereo only served to make him talk more, firstly to see the assassin's reactions and secondly just to fill in the silence that he knew would sit between them if he didn't say anything. "It sounds sort of uncomfortable too. Are you planning to let me die in the basement? Because that doesn't sound like a nice way to die." Usually he was okay with silence. Silence was nice and if the passenger in the front seat didn't bother him, he wouldn't bother them. Of course, trust that rule to not apply to Jung Daehyun. "I'll need directions, Princess; and no, I won't drop you off and let you walk."
Yukwon had noticed the fact that Daehyun had ended up cradling his injured arm with his good one, and he knew he should've offered a makeshift sling. That and the fact that it was absolutely cold out made him feel like leaving him somewhere for him to walk back on his own was just plain cold. He was all for teasing, yes, but he wasn't so much of an asshole to leave him on his own. It was his fault that the other man had gotten hurt, after all. But he could've always declined the mission, so..

He stares at the card, rereading the words before snorting, dropping it down back on his desk. He had an idea of who it was from because there were only so many people who knew where this warehouse was, but hey, it was pretty amusing nonetheless. He'd probably have to keep the card away from Daehyun though, just in case.
