It is Mental Health month! Lets talk about The Deep Roots of Health Inequities. Historically, the United States’ long eras of slavery and discriminatory policies in housing, education, transportation, and economic development largely excluded people of color and other minorities from the formal economy, up until the latter half of the 20th century and the passage of major civil rights legislation. Latino families, among other disadvantaged groups, is more recent and more concentrated in home values than for most White families, whose much greater wealth is more broadly distributed over many kinds of assets other than housing, such as stocks and bonds. Two years into the so-called recovery period from the Great Recession – average African American and Latino households owned only six and seven cents, respectively, for every dollar in wealth held by the average White family. . In 2011, the median net worth of households of color had fallen from 2005 levels – before the recession – by 58 percent for Latinos, 48 percent for Asians, and 45 percent for African Americans, but by only 21 percent for Whites. When will those living in a long-term care setting get the vaccine? Each state is responsible for developing and administering a vaccine distribution plan. COVID-19 vaccine information for dementia caregivers What safety precautions should I take when visiting a loved one in long-term care? https://amzn.to/2Zz413G In order to survive in today’s increasingly challenging world of work, managers have to be lifelong learners. They have to be open to not only learning new things, but also to incorporating those things in their everyday approach to work. These two behaviors are among the most critical for honing managerial skills. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLkUnQ-MT5O/?igshid=udg3uhj3reqo

INFLUENZA OR “FLU”, CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19), AND PNEUMONIA IN HOME CARE ORGANIZATION. Influenza, often referred to as “the flu”, is a contagious illness that can infect a person’s respiratory system (nose, throat, and lungs). The flu can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. While various flu viruses circulate year-round, most of the time flu activity peaks between December and February. The flu vaccine prevents millions of illnesses and thousands of deaths each year in the United States. Flu vaccination does not prevent COVID-19 or increase the risk of developing COVID-19.
