Little Nightmares Concept Art Kids
I’ve resurrected and will return to my Little Nightmares roots.
Starting off with a simple theory in my inbox that I long since accidently deleted, but it went like this:
[Six could be named “Six” because there were five kids before her in the concept art.]
The concept kids are used as photo models and two of them are used to model two random kids in the first game. However, all five of them together make an appearance in VLN:

The concept kid’s framed photos can be found hidden in the Nest.
I’ve seen people theorize that the nomes here could have once been the children in these photos.
But that’s not the case.
We know why these photos exist. Because we know how the Nest works. A child who has had their photo taken and hung has already been captured and turned into a doll for the Pretender to play with. So these nomes are not the five concept kids. If these kids have their own framed photos then that means their corpses are somewhere on the Nest:
And here they are. All five of them. Having tea and cookies with the Pretender.
Turns out the concept kids never even made it to the Maw and most likely had died way before Six had even arrived on the Nest. So they have nothing to do with her or why she’s named “Six”. And I doubt these kids had numerical names to begin with.
Six is the “Sixth” for a whole different reason.

King’s Dad was a Collector Theory
Going off of tonight's episode, we were given murals of events that happened in the past, similar to how we were told of Caleb’s past through murals as well.
Though this time, the murals depicted events that occurred during the Collector’s time. I’ve organized them in the timeline that I see best fits the story and came to the realization that we’ve seen a similar scenario play out with another character’s past.
According to the mural above, in the beginning, there were four original Collectors that were tasked with observing and preserving objects throughout the galaxy. And if anyone opposed, the Collectors would eradicate them. Despite this, all Collectors are seen to have the signature expression of joy, they’re always seen looking happy doing what they do. Eventually, a fifth collector is born (the purple one who we can assume is the Collector we see in the show) and he is seen being happily welcomed by the other Collectors.
Then we move on to the next mural above. The most interesting mural. It can be read in so many ways. Yet it’s the mural that I think reveals the true origins of King’s father. As I interpreted it, the mural depicts one of the Collectors discovering a skull and placing it on his head... then he’s seen becoming a titan. Notice the eyes. His yellow eyes are noticeably the only feature that remain the same, indicating that this is the same Collector that placed the skull on his head.
The mural above shows a Collector becoming a Titan.
You may believe that the mural shows two different Collectors and a Titan but that is not true. Because we have the next mural below.
The mural above shows the exact same Titan/Collector with his yellow eyes. And next to him we see what a REAL Titan actually looked like. Notice that real Titans had RED eyes. The eyes aren't the only noticeable distinction, however. REAL Titans seem to have had a very skeleton-like body with bat wings. The Collector that became a Titan is vastly different. He still holds his yellow eyes but now has a blue body of fur and no wings.
Another thing to notice is that the mural above shows a battle between the yellow-eyed Titan and the red-eyed Titans. We know this battle well. It was the battle where King (as an egg) hears his father scream for him in a roar. And what can be seen in the mural? An egg. This is very much the battle that King hears, where his father can be heard fighting for him. And judging from where King’s egg is located in the mural, it seems that he was taken from his father.
His father being the yellow-eyed Titan that we now know came to be after a Collector was seen placing a skull on his head.
This Titan was never seen again after this battle.
We move on to the next image above. Where the other remaining three Collectors (along with the new purple one) have located a certain planet.
But one Collector is missing.
And the Collectors look eager... as if they at last found who they were searching for on this very planet.
They had found the location of their missing brother.
The planet the remaining Collectors had arrived on... was none other than where the Boiling Isles is.
And, while in the beginning they all looked so excited to have finally found this planet... now they looked enraged. The mural above clearly showing the remaining three Collectors long losing their signature joyful expressions. They’re not happy with what they discovered on that planet.
Notice that our purple Collector is also missing. And the flames at the Titan’s feet is now purple, too. Seems like purple Collector was sent in first to find their missing brother, and when he too didn't return, that’s when the three finally all stepped in to see why now two of their brothers hadn't returned from this planet.
Only to be met with the discovery that their long lost missing brother... is now gone. And their purple youngest one is nowhere to be found. And the only ones remaining are the real Titans who had won that battle against the yellow-eyed Titan. And those Titans now looked terrified.
What had happened on this planet was obvious to the Collectors: the Titans had killed their brothers. And, in anger, they:
Collectors are known to eradicate those who oppose. Destroying is something that is also in their job description. They are very capable of killing. And this seems to be the fate that all Titans fell into when the three remaining Collectors arrived on the Boiling Isles and discovered the fate of their missing brothers.
So... what happened?
In short, a Collector fell in love with the Titan’s world. So much so, that he gave up on who he was supposed to be: a Collector. And chose to live as a Titan... and even had a Titan baby. A baby we now know as King.
A story exactly similar to someone else’s in the show: Caleb’s.
Caleb was also a someone who was different. He was a human. But he fell in love with the Witch’s world. He gave up on his life in the human world and chose to live as a witch... and even had a baby with one.
Two men who chose to forget their old lives to continue living in a new world that they had fallen in love with.
And they both paid the price in blood.
Speaking of blood, a Collector’s blood may be the reason “Titan blood” is where magic comes from. Because it turns out it’s not actually “Titan Blood”... but blue Collector blood. King’s dad’s blood. But that’s a theory for another time.

You're theories make a lot of sense it's kinda scary. But I'm satisfied with the Hanging Man/Thin Man being the original caretaker of the kids because it makes the spying on the Lady while she's in her bedroom less creepy. I thought Roger was peeping on her but thank goodness it seemed to be just her husband. 😂
AHH WHAT HAHA I can't believe didn't even think about this 😅 but I don't know if that makes things even less creepier to be honest. What if she doesn't know?? This just makes me wonder (and hope) she's aware that she's being watched while in her quarters. Just... the Lady doesn't seem like the type to allow this kind of thing? She seems very reserved and private in her domain so it's kinda shocking to realize that she was being watched this whole time. And now that I think about it... the security room is literally hidden away. But alot of things are hidden in the Maw. So she has to be aware of this room... right? And there's one camera focused on the mirror that kills her, too...
Gosh, I really want to find out what was in that final letter the Hanging Man left behind. I feel like all the answers to our questions are in that letter ughh.
Oh no my mind is going down a rabbit hole that I don't need to go down right now 😅. Got me thinking to that one room in LN2 where the couch isn't even in front of a TV... its just there in front of a framed photo of her. This person would just sit there and watch her 😬. Now I'm lowkey sympathizing with her lol. Everyone is obsessed with her! I sure hope she likes the attention, cause this is just off putting.

I saw your post on what the eye symbols could represent and since you believe that the forward triangle looking eye is the Thin Man's why was it on one of the Maw doors? I saw another post mention it too so couldn't it also represent Roger?

I’m guessing you meant this specific eye. I’ve been wanting to cover this so I’m glad you brought it up. Luckily for you I have gone back through the game and found this specific eye twice within the gameplay. One thing I’d like to point out is that this eye is only located deep within the Maw. And yes that is where the Janitor, Roger, is located so I get why you would think that this eye could relate to him. But I strongly disagree that it does.
Not just because I believe this eye already symbolizes a different character, but because Roger doesn't belong on the Maw.
Roger’s official description states, “With long forgotten things from long forgotten places, he fled the world and found The Maw.” Roger originated somewhere else. Many people have theorized that Roger came from the Pale City. A forgotten world that most people would wish to flee. And those who flee, seek the Maw. ItsJustJord did a good job explaining this theory. Check it out.

In Little Nightmares 2 there is an achievement that involves delivering a package to a citizen of the Pale City. This package is found in a suitcase and has a familiar eye symbol looking downwards. I’ve mentioned before in my previous theory that this eye symbol seems to represent the Lady. But to which citizen of the Pale City could the Maw have sent a package to? Well, to a citizen whose hands share the same texture as Roger’s hand. Not only that, but Roger’s skin mask can be found in LN2 in the Hospital. The package itself makes a metallic sound when thrown. This means that Roger had not yet picked up his skin mask to work in the Maw. And that package included the rest of what Roger would require to work in the Maw. A name tag. The name tag could be the metallic sound in the package. If this is true, then by LN1, Roger had recently started working in the Maw as the new caretaker of the imprisoned children. Before that, and during LN2, there was someone else running the children’s prison in the Maw.
Roger’s final description, now as an employee of the Maw, reads, “Now as The Janitor he is a tall(lol tall) tale hiding in the shadows, stalking the silence, a monster alone.” He has taken a new role in LN1, that role just wasn't originally played by him.
I’m going to assume you didn't read my previous post where I theorized that the Hanging Man and the Thin Man are possibly the same person. The eye is there because he is there, hanging around (lol i got jokes today). Hope that answers your question.

I received some messages regarding the Hidden Room so I thought I’d cover it a bit more. From what we speculate, this room belongs to the Thin Man. See previous theory.
I speculated before that the Thin Man is not trapped within the Tower and has the power to leave whenever he pleases. The image of Thin Man sitting on the chair is a metaphor for the time he waited for Six and Mono to come into the timeline. This can be supported by the fact that the glitching remains of his kidnapped children are scattered throughout the city way before Mono ever released him. Additionally, this Hidden Room within the Nest further confirms to me that he could leave the Tower, as this room is speculated to belong to him.
The room has high locks on a door insinuating that it was locked from the inside by an adult. The only access for a known adult to enter would be through the hanging television. There are also 5 tally marks carved into this very door. Tally marks are used to keep track of something; whoever was in this room had kept track of something that had happened 5 times before.
Let’s take a look at the contents of this room. Like the timelapse of the Thin Man aging being a metaphor for the time he waited, this room is a metaphor for what is happening inside the Nest. The reality that The Lady of the Nest(mother bird) kills countless children(eggs) but maintains favoritism towards a single child, The Pretender(chick), the one single offspring that the mother will provide a comfortable home(nest) for and wishes for it to survive, with no regard to how many corpses lay lying about. However, this child’s(chick’s) fate is already sealed as it will not get to live for much longer. The Pretender will eventually die, as will the chick since it’s nest happens to lie right under a television that is hanging by a torn noose. The mothers will not live as well.
If the tally marks indicate anything, it is that this event has already happened 5 times before. Further supporting the theory that we are currently in the 6th loop.
If this is true, then whoever is in this room, is aware of the time loops. And only one adult has access to the only way an adult could enter this room. The Thin Man.
If he could leave the Tower, then why did he sit and lure Mono into the televisions rather than getting out and finding Six and Mono himself? Well… I don’t believe that the person Mono released was the real Thin Man. At least not completely him… I believe the entity that Mono released is very similar to what “Shadow Six” and the “Glitching Remains” are. Once released, Thin Man as a character seems to be sort of an… apparition. Existing in the world as a ghostly entity, with no physical form to him. This entity is a Glitching Remain of the Thin Man within the Tower luring Mono into the transmission similarly to how Shadow Six lured Mono to his confrontation with Thin Man… or more precisely, the man’s Glitch. It would explain why it completely disintegrated into nothing after Mono defeats it, almost as if it hadn't had a physical body to begin with.
So where is his physical body then? Well, aboard the Maw. Yes, I believe the first character, apart from Six, that we were ever introduced to was none other than Mono, or Thin Man, himself. (Reference to his chair was even made upon the Lady’s defeat.) Thus, this brings us back to the Hanging Man, who we already know is the father of the Pretender, a lonely girl with suspiciously glitchy-like powers.

In conclusion, the Thin Man and the Hanging Man are the same person.

After going over this long and hard, the only conclusion that I come to is the understanding that the Pretender seems to be The Lady and the Thin Man’s daughter.
Firstly supported by the fact that the Nest is highly hinted to be owned by the Lady. The nomes are known to know more than what they let on and thus write down their stories on the walls of both the Nest and aboard the Maw. They are brought to both locations by the Ferryman and the Aeronaut, who seem to work for the same purpose... and the same person, as shown in the tapestry. The images above pretty much explain everything. Both the Nest and the Maw operate with the same system, in terms of the kidnapped children and the security. The Nest is the Lady’s home.
The Thin Man also has his own room in the Nest. This secret room which is locked shut from the inside. The room obviously belonging to an adult as revealed by the height of the locks on the door. There is no other access for an adult to enter this room... unless you count the hanging television. This room also has wallpaper depicting a straight forward looking eye that seems to be the symbol for the Thin Man.
Now, looking into who the Pretender is as a person, we can tell that she wants to maintain a social status and seems obsessed with her looks. She has a twisted idea of what power really is. All similar to the Lady’s mentality. She is a privileged child that is given almost everything she could possibly want. She doesn't have to worry about food or the dangers of TVs. She is gifted as many of those as she wants. Though despite this, it’s safe to assume that the Pretender is still miserable with her life. She is treated with a privilege that other children could only dream of but she still cries alone. She’s a lonely child. She’s very lonely and secretly longs some kind of companionship. A personality very similar to the Thin Man. However this longing for companionship is tainted by her twisted view on how she was raised to believe other children should be at her mercy. She lashes out resulting from this toxic upbringing of believing that she is above everyone else, yet she still breaks down when her real inner emotions of a hunger for companionship finally emerge.
This is such an “in your face” theory that I don't understand why more people aren't talking about it?
Now, how could the Thin Man have possibly had a daughter when he was trapped indefinitely in the Tower? Well, accuse me of reaching, but I don’t think this man was trapped indefinitely. He can leave the Tower whenever he wants. The image of Thin Man sitting on the chair is a metaphor for the time he waited for Six and Mono to come into the timeline. It would explain how the glitching remains of children are scattered throughout the city. I’m also willing to bet that those notes that Runaway Kid was collecting were from the man himself. But that is a whole other theory that I hope to cover soon.

While Six shows to have a sadistic side and was able to hold grudges...

She slowly grows to care for Mono...

And this very tiny interaction is proof...

The very reason why Six turned against him(this broke my fucking heart right here), is because he wasn't there when she needed his help the most...

While trapped and alone, her only comfort is her music box, there's even a brief moment Six presents the box to him as kids would share their favorite toys with the people they trust...

But he destroys the very item that made her feel safe and forget the harsh, nightmare world...

A cut character, known as the TV Eye Monster.
This character has been foreshadowed since the very first game. So it was very important. Such a shame that it was cut out from production, though clearly it was a last minute decision as there was already a playable battle scene produced and found in the game’s files.
Since it was clearly important, what exactly is it? It closely resembled the Flesh Monster, but I believe these two are two completely different monsters.
The Flesh Monster is composed from the fusion of bodies from citizens of the Pale City. It’s features include multiple eyes and blob like flesh. In contrast to the Eye Monster which is one observing eye that seems to be a part of a face. It’s worth noting that when the Eye Monster appeared on screen, it shares the same sound as Thin Man’s teleporting sound. This creature also does not attack the player; once it locates it’s victims, the Thin Man proceeds to capture them himself. Say... could this Eye be of the Thin Man? Used by the Man to locate children as his own eyes remain closed.
The Thin Man’s old model shows no eyes. He does not chase Mono and Six when the Eye is no longer on the screen despite the two children walking right in from of him. Only when the Eye appears on screen and it sees the children does he take action to capture them.
There is a chance that this Eye was Thin Man’s own eye used to locate Mono and Six before it was changed to having him directly teleport to Mono and chase him instead.
