After watching SuperHorrorBro's video on the Little Nightmares lore now that the podcast came out, I took notice of the fact that he spelled Otto's sister name as "Sisi".
Since he worked on the script for episode two, where Otto mentions her by name, I'm assuming this is the definitive correct spelling of her name. Sisi. I went to look up if her name had any particular meanings, and...
Tumblr media
... We finally have a Seven in the Little Nights franchise. I think we can safely rule out that she is Six, and by association, probably anyone that came before her. The prime suspect for her identity was RCG as she is the only one who started out with her raincoat, meaning Otto would have known about her wearing it and the color, but taking this into consideration now I think we can assume Sisi is unrelated to all these people for the most part.
For what's worth, Otto's name is also a number. It means "eight" in italian, my mother tongue. With him being the younger brother, it makes sense.

Breaking down the new LN3 footage
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT this was really wild, we basically got a collage of everything to expect from the Necropolis and what do you mean "pre-alpha gameplay footage"? This already looks amazing! Now let's start the actual breakdown
Tumblr media
The area on the other side of the mirror seems to be the place where we see Low and Alone get pulled into the mirror in the reveal trailer, so that'll probably the beginning of the beginning for the game.
It's interesting to note that the Necropolis seems to be completely walled off from the surrounding desert.
Tumblr media
I might be reaching here but that fact that a crow, an animal that's only previously been associated with the North Wind, is the first living obstacle the kids encounter is very interesting.
I can't, for the life of me, tell what era or region clothes the Dwellers are supposed to be waring so if anyone can tell me, that'd be a big help.
Tumblr media
We've had numerous variations of the eye symbol with various meanings ascribed to each, so, again, if anyone can point out any previous instances of this particular version of the eye, please do so.
Quicksand will be a hazard in the Necropolis and more than anything I'm just astonished there wasn't a sand burrower.
The Hercules Beetles are way nastier than I thought, likely because of their disgustingly realistic buzzing, makes feel less bad that Baby already killed most of them.
The bundled bodies around the area are definitely concerning, maybe the Dwellers use to preserve corpses as "offerings" to Monster Baby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BABY CAN TURN HER EYE BEAMS OFF! This took me completely by surprise, the implications of this are very fascinating to think about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kids, or specifically, Low, wake up in a room with padded walls, implying their either in the sewing room of the Seamstress from the Lonely Way (not good), or the Counties Psychiatric Institute (really not good) and on top of that, darkness closes in around them. While we're on it, Lowe wakes up in the same way the protags of previous games do when you respawn and in the same situation that they (and Noone) do too, as their caught by a resident.
One last thing, the blue to grey pulse on the logo screen feels eerily like a heartbeat, and given the top of the "main" mirror almost looks like a heart...

I’ve been posting a LN theory I came up with everywhere since I love it so u thought I’d share here too!!
so what I found out by a Google search is that the name Cici means “blind”, however specifically “blind to one’s beauty”
Tumblr media
This links heavily to the Lady, who we find out in the Residence DLC sees herself as extremely ugly when looking in mirrors, despite her real face being beautiful
Tumblr media
We also see paintings of a little girl from the lady, who although isn’t six, wears a lovely yellow raincoat. She also has strong connections to the lady as evidenced by the paintings. Note at some point she’s lost her yellow raincoat! I wonder where that ended up?
Tumblr media
So basically my theory goes that: Cici enters the Nowhere to escape Otto and whatever he did to her and ends up in the Maw. Instead of being used for food or whatever else she somehow ends up by the Lady’s side, eventually losing the raincoat, growing up, and becoming the next the Lady replacing the previous. Although grown up Cici is beautiful, the mirrors tell her otherwise and shows her ugly instead, “blind to one’s own beauty”. I think Cici entered the nowhere wearing the yellow raincoat and the original holder of it, before losing it and some other kid finding it, the coat being passed down child to child before ending up on six (who I personally think her name means “sixth child to wear the raincoat”)
thanks for reading :>

Little Nightmares pages!
Details!
💤 I wrote 1 for Mono because mono means singular, btw. I only explain this because it had to be explained to me and I don’t want none getting embarrassed haha
💤 Six and the chair are both kinda hanging off the page by more paper in an accordion fashion
💤 There’s an eye behind Six to symbolize the eyes that first gave her her hunger (based on the theory that LN2 is a prequel and it’s the first time her stomach growls in canon)
💤 The chair has a gaping mouth behind it because I think the signal tower acts as the throat of some kind of eldrich being, the one that consumed the city citizens, deformed the adults, and drives the greed of this world.

Otto's past, his descent into madness, and the Ferryman's schemes.
In the sounds of nightmares, Otto presented himself as a psychologist devoting his life to helping children who suffered from a number of mental and sleeping disorders, but behind this image was a past he now saw as both shameful and insane.
Tumblr media
We may not yet know to what extent, but Otto was once greatly interested in the field of parapsychology and metaphysics, the reason being was of course because of his big sister Sisi. As a boy, Otto faced the tragedy of losing his big sister Sisi, however, he never knew what happened to her, and odds are, no one else did either. The only thing he had left in regards to Sisi's possible whereabouts were the bizarre "dreams” she spoke of and the figure she would claim to have seen within her dreams, the Ferryman. As a result of Sisi's mysterious disappearance, we theorized Otto only involved himself in the field of parapsychology and metaphysics because it was the only field capable of giving him a chance at finding what he was desperate to find ever since he was a little boy…answers.
Otto wanted to know what happened to Sisi, and so long as there was no body, it was almost as if Otto retained this small sliver of hope in which he couldn’t help but think maybe, just maybe...Sisi was still out there somewhere...and yet... it was precisely this hope which quickly spiraled into an obsession. Throughout the sounds of nightmares, we see Otto's dedication to finding Sisi grow so extreme, he was even willing to disregard his own health and the well being of another child like Noone...but all the while I and many other theorists noticed Otto's descent into madness, we realized something...was this the first time such a situation happened with Otto?...or has his mad obsession over finding Sisi been something he retained for the majority of his life, to the point of it deciding every decision and every path he took? Even during his time in the field of parapsychology and metaphysics? If so, then...what happened in his life to finally make him push it all away and put an end to it all?
Somewhere along the line of his career, Otto had made the decision to put his experiences in the field of parapsychology and metaphysics behind him, refusing to rely on what he previously learned as he tried to convince himself it was all wrong, all so he could try to remain balanced over the years in an attempt to instead focus his career and life at the counties psychiatric institute, prioritizing logic and reason above all else.
However, amidst his former research in the strange and supernatural, Otto created a device with the capability to not only allow him to see into the dreams of others, but also experience them for himself through mutual dreaming. Through his device, Otto could connect his mind to another person and share in their dream... and yet... upon acquiring his new position at the ward, he never completed it, but why? He said he viewed it as fools work, but what led him to come to this realization after what could have been years of work and research? Was it just because he left the field and viewed it as ludicrous? Did he gradually lose interest?… or did his motivations for building such a contraption slip away as time went on?
Had the trauma and grief he faced over losing his sister truly become his drive for the paths he took in life, then it may have also been his sole motivation for building such a device, he merely needed to be reminded of his end goal to keep himself focused on completing it, the end goal being of course... finding Sisi and the one who took her from him….the Ferryman.
Otto explained how the Ferryman was no stranger to his world, he had been documented in various cultures around the world for hundreds of years as a sort of gatekeeper within dreams. Now, it’s not as if this was all new information to him, it was all documented in journals by his former colleagues, journals he kept. To hear his sister speak of the Ferryman was one thing, but to discover this being was known throughout many cultures around the world as a mythic entity guarding the entrance to another world, well, what more could Otto do but try and figure out how to see for himself if such a creature existed, through the only place he was believed to hide...dreams
So then...what finally made Otto leave his former field, lose contact with all those he knew and abandon his work on the device he once promised himself to finish? …unless….maybe it wasn’t that he gave it all up so suddenly, maybe what drove him to pursue such things finally came to a halt. Had Otto truly struggled over his sister’s disappearance for much of his life, then what if maybe …just maybe…the grief he felt everyday of his life finally led him down a path he did not want to face, but had to acknowledge nonetheless ....the path of acceptance. Before Noone arrived to his ward, Otto appeared to be someone who was content with his life, and although it still hurt anytime he thought of his sister as he mentioned her to someone else, like Noone, it was at this point in time where his entire life was no longer revolved around Sisi, almost as if at some point in the past....Otto simply accepted he would never find the answers he wanted, leaving him no other choice but to come to terms with one painful realization.... Sisi was gone... and she was never coming back. Had he truly come to terms with his loss, then there would have been no point in continuing the crazy idea of pursuing a mythical being who was only ever heard of in stories.......wait a minute.
If Otto truly came to terms with his loss and made steps to move on with his life, then…of all the things to occur in his life, how was it a child like Noone, a child with a direct link to the Ferryman, the very being whom Sisi saw, wound up walking into his life to seek treatment?...then again...what if it was no coincidence Noone found her way to Otto
In chp.5 of the sounds of nightmares, Otto was certain Noone’s next visit to the Nowhere would be her last, he did not have hope of her returning just as she did many times before, which is why he decided to take his chances and went against his promise to Noone (the promise was to not use his device on her for one night), and used his device on her anyway to see into her dreams and finally take a glimpse into the Nowhere. Sure enough... his machine worked...as he gazed upon the eye entity hiding within the halfway place. However, in chp. 6, despite his assumption of Noone being lost forever, to his(and our) surprise, Noone returned the next morning…but why?
Otto thought the Ferryman let Noone return as a way of toying with him, to make him feel powerless, but…was this truly the reason?….no…something's wrong… the way Noone spoke about finding the yellow raincoat in her previous visit to the Nowhere, the very same yellow raincoat which once belonged to Sisi, it was almost as if…Noone was being used to deliver a message, as if...the Ferryman wanted Otto to know there was a trace of Sisi within the Nowhere.
In chp6. it is revealed the Ferryman knew who Otto was, he could hear Otto, he responded to Otto's questions, he knew Otto desperately wanted to enter the Nowhere...but exactly how long has the Ferryman known about Otto? In chp. 4 Otto realized much like how he was often behind a two way mirror to observe the ignorant children within the reunion room who never knew he was there, it was always the Ferryman who was behind a veil similar to a two way mirror. The veil separated their two worlds, but it was always the Ferryman who could observe everything and everyone. The ferryman could see and hear everything, while Otto could not, and if the Ferryman was always there...watching....then...what if he was always watching Otto...since the day he targeted Sisi all those years ago, but unlike Sisi who would be swept away to the world of the Nowhere...what if...there were other plans set in store for Otto...
Otto was no normal man, he was the man who defied the impossible and created a device which could be capable of forming a link between the waking(human) world and the Nowhere. Sure his former colleagues and professor speculated the Ferryman and another world(the Nowhere) existed, and sure the Ferryman was documented for hundreds of years in various cultures from around the world, but the way the Ferryman and the Nowhere's existence were known, one could even say...the Ferryman and the eye entity wanted the humans to know they and the Nowhere existed. Amidst his struggles, Otto was certain the Ferryman was determine to keep him out of the Nowhere...so then why would the Ferryman tell him there was another way to enter the Nowhere? If what we theorize is true then...could it be the Ferryman wanted someone like Otto to find him and the Nowhere?...maybe
Through Otto, we know many people researched and speculated in the existence of the Nowhere and the creatures which resided in it. In regards to how information of the Ferryman and the Nowhere's existence was available throughout the world for other adults looking to learn more of this mythical place and being, well, perhaps Otto was not the only one willing to listen to a childs bizarre "dreams". But if there were other adults... did they ever come close to proving the Nowhere's existence or even sensing the Ferryman's presence?...honestly who's to say.
Still, out of everyone who could have pursued this mythical place, could it be none of them ever came close to proving it was truly real, let alone were capable of catching a glimpse of it for themselves? If so, then does this mean the only one who has thus far been capable of accomplishing this, was Otto?....but that's just it isn't it...it was always Otto...it had to be Otto, because unlike everyone else...it was Otto who had the drive to keep pushing to discover it all..no matter the cost. What am I trying to say? Well, if Otto is truly the only human being who was capable of creating a device to connect his world and the Nowhere, if he was truly willing to make any sacrifice to accomplish his goal to find his beloved sister Sisi, then what if maybe...just maybe...this was always what was expected of him...its what was planned for him from the start.
As previously stated, for Otto to have a child like Noone suddenly walk into his life, a child who saw the same being Sisi saw was.... suspicious. After everything he experienced and let go of in his life, and knowing the content life he had working at the ward before the drastic spiral into madness he underwent the more he learned of the Ferryman, the Nowhere, and Sisi's presence in the Nowhere through Noone, it wasn't long before I and many other theorists realized something...Otto was being led on... someone...or rather something was trying to pull Otto back into the path he strayed from, the path to finding Sisi, the Ferryman, and the world they disappeared too.
We have always known the Ferryman targeted numerous children to bring to the Nowhere, but we have always theorized certain adults' could also be targeted...if they were worthwhile... if Otto was truly one of them and if what we have theorized is true, then everything Otto did, everything Otto accomplished, and everything Otto was willing to sacrifice(including Noone) in his goals to find his big sister Sisi, was never for his benefit alone...Otto is being led to pursue his research by the very creatures which took his sister away. The only question now is...why does the Ferryman want Otto to continue his research?, is it just to obtain more innocent children to offer to the eye entity and its world...or has something bigger always been planned, they just needed a human who would help make it possible, but what could it be?...maybe we always knew...Despite his loss near the end of the sounds of nightmares, Otto became more determined than ever to find the other way into the Nowhere the Ferryman spoke of, and with a child like Ethan walking in through his doors, its as if someone...or rather something...is once again bringing forth yet another child with a link to the monsters who took Sisi away. If what we theorized is true then, Otto may very well have his wish granted...but not in the way he had hoped...but hey...it’s just a theory...a Little Nightmares theory.

Soooooooo... That final chapter of the Sounds of Nightmares am I right? First off it was amazing, I loved this series and second off I want to get the identities of some characters established.
Cece wore a yellow raincoat judging by Otto's reaction when Noone mentioned seeing one. That means Cece is (well was) the Yellow Raincoat girl from Very Little Nightmares.
I know most of us probably think of Six whenever a yellow raincoat is mentioned in the lore of Little Nightmares, but Cece is most likely not Six. Raincoat Girl (Cece) probably came to the No Where with her coat, and lost it when she died at the end of VLN. Six then later acquired that coat in Little Nightmares 2.
So that means we still have no idea where Six came from or who she really is. I actually really like that, we've learned where the raincoat came from and we learned some stuff about the Raincoat girl. But Six herself remains a mystery.
Quickly going back to Cece, knowing that she is dead makes Otto's ending more messed up. It's heavily implied that he is going to send other kids to the No Where in a desperate bid to get access to the place in order to find Cece.
But Cece is dead. What he is going to end up doing is going to all be for nothing, and he will probably never know that.
Now there is a chance in LN 3 that we could see Otto again and find out if he ever did make it to the No Where. But we'll have to wait and see if on that note. I wonder if the game will have any references towards the podcast.
Now... Noone.
I don't have much to say about her aside from mentioning that her real name, Ruth, means "to feel pity, distress and or grief." I feel like that sums up her story pretty well.
But I do have another thing to talk about with Noone (Ruth) and this is a crackpot theory. I don't fully subscribe to this idea either, so I don't blame you if you think this is doesn't have enough wait behind it.
What if Noone is Six?
We've learned about Raincoat girl and the coat as well; what if we learned about Six's origins in this series and didn't realise it? Her appearance is never described to us so she could look like Six or she could look nothing like her, we just don't know.
I mainly had this idea from the random thought of what if Noone did eventually manage to find Cece but Otto didn't? Witnessed her death and knew what happened to her when Otto is forever left in the dark?
But that's probably not the case, Noone is most likely a separate character from Six. Even though Noone is now in the No Where we will probably never see her again.
Just like many of thechildren we see in this world (aside from Six) we only see them once. The Runaway Kid, Mono, The Blindfolded Boy, the Lollypop Kid, Spoon Girl, the Ghost kid, and now Noone.
But that is just a theory.

So, I Think I Know Who Ruth/Noone Is
No, I don't think she's Six nor Alone. But I don't think she's a totally new character like Otto/The Counselor (who, by the way, I noticed upon my relisten also identifies himself as “The Counselor” in his first audio log; an incredibly weird decision for one counselor in an asylum full of other counselors that he mentions constantly to make if it has no significance), either. And, I'm sorry, but this will mean that she is yet another poor child who doesn't get a happy ending.
Point One: Her Name
We… we know that Ruth's other name is “Noone,” not “Six” nor “Alone,” guys. That alone is proof that she's neither of them, just like how knowing Otto's other name is “The Counselor” alone is proof against the theories that he's either The Doctor or Mono/The Thin Man.
From what I can tell, it looks like people who've lived in both worlds get a Human Name and what I'll call a “Nowhere Name” or a “Nightmare Name.”
“The Janitor” is for sure Roger's in LN1.
“The Doctor” seems to be “that celebrity doctor” from TSON's in LN2.
“The Counselor” is for sure Otto's in TSON and potentially LN3 if he shows up there.
“Noone” is for sure Ruth's.
Some might choose their Nowhere/Nightmare Name, some may be bestowed it, but it certainly looks to me like the only time someone gets multiple Nowhere/Nightmare Names (excluding The Candleman/Ferryman because, from what Otto said at the beginning of Ch5, he's like literally some sort of Eldritch god or personification of an abstract concept or something who probably doesn't even have a concrete True Physical Form seeing as he's described very differently by mythologies all over the world throughout history, “‘The Guardian At The Threshold,’ an archetype that parapsychologists have obsessed over for centuries. A mythic entity who's appeared in the stories of innumerable cultures. No matter their description, his roll is always the same: to confront anyone who dares cross into unseen worlds . . . The Candleman. The Ferryman. Indeed, The Guardian At The Threshold. An eidolon [googled definitions: ‘a specter or phantom; a ghost or elusive entity; an unsubstantial image; an image or representation of an idea; an apparition of some actual or imaginary entity, or an aspect of reality’] on the inside, determined to keep. Me. Out.” So, I think we can just assume that, because he's an ethereal being, everyone who encounters him perceives him varying degrees of differently [I mean, just look how difficult Noone found it to solidify her perception of him enough to describe him in the first place] and, unless their perceptions just happenstance into matching up enough or they decide to call him by a name they heard someone else use, they all call him something different and therefore, to use Tumblr terms: he's Spiders Georg and shouldn't be counted) is specifically in the case of kids surviving to adulthood in The Nowhere. Because, then, they transition from having a “nickname” type of Nowhere/Nightmare Name to having a “title” type, like Mono (ain't no way his parents put “Mono” on his birth certificate, that's definitely a nickname) growing into The Thin Man (an incredibly weird title, but a title nonetheless 🤷🏻‍♀️).
Sisi could easily be Six, or Raincoat Girl, or Portrait Girl (more likely Raincoat Girl or Portrait Girl), there's evidence for all three (but stronger for Raincoat Girl and Portrait Girl) and Otto/The Counselor never mentioned whatever her other name is, only “Sisi.” But, as I said, we know Ruth's other name: Noone!
Now, there is an unnamed girl that Noone is a little too similar to for it to be a coincidence: Spoon Girl (aka Girl With Pigtails, aka Nosebleed Girl, aka Hospital Girl, whatever you wanna call her) from the LN2 comics.
Point Two: Narrative Parallels & Matching Imagery
• Ruth/Noone: has an eye-looking “pea-size tumor on [her] right-sided amygdala,” as Otto said (“they maintain it's benign, despite the unusual ocular appearance”).
> Is “helped” to escape the asylum, Otto/The Counselor, and her tumor in the horrible, corrupting nightmare world that is The Nowhere by The Candleman/Ferryman after he brings her back and forth for a while, manipulating her into thinking The Nowhere is the lesser of the two evils.
• Spoon Girl: has a right-side nosebleed, which could mean Ruth/Noone was incorrect that living in The Nowhere would cure her of her tumor (not surprising, given that “ocular appearance.” Of course she couldn't escape it in its own domain) and now the cancer has spread to her nasal cavity (nosebleeds come up as a possible side effect of olfactory neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nerves that allow you to smell which starts growing in your nose and can spread into your brain. They could've researched that and thought it seemed perfectly reasonable that a tumor growing in the opposite direction would do the same exact thing)?
> Is “helped” to escape her hospital cell by an unseen person repeatedly pushing spoons under her door only to find that she's actually dug herself into an identical cell, all the way down to the hash marks she put on the walls presumably counting how many spoons she broke while digging. The door then opens to lure her to where she's found by The Doctor and, presumably, is either killed by him or “saved” from him by The Thin Man (if her Glitching Remains that Mono can find and absorb in the actual game are an indication that he attempted a rescue after the pair encountered each other through The Mall), likely turning her into a monster similar to Monster Six and locking her away somewhere until her tumor finally killed her.
Wouldn't it just wrap Ruth/Noone's story up in a positively hideous bow if, once she thought she'd escaped the horrors of her real life, she literally just found herself delivered into the hands of the very same man who traumatized her and got her face plastered all over the telly in the first place, where she basically lives through a metaphor that makes her realize what a terrible mistake she's made before she succumbs to whatever her final fate was (the latter option would mean also into the hands of someone so similar to Otto/The Counselor that the writers were able to use him to foreshadow how his part of her story would end)? 😬😢
If you need more proof, let's look at the TSON cover art…
Tumblr media
Looks an awful lot like those bottom two hands are gripping pigtails, doesn't it (in exactly the wrong place for her to be Alone, might I add. Alone's pigtails stick up, Ruth/Noone's hang down)…? The fact they're also specifically covering the area where her bangs would be is pretty suspicious, as well… Now, let's compare her to Spoon Girl's concept art from the LN2 art book…
Tumblr media
…Yeah, I think it's her. The face, head, shoulder, and collar shapes are much too similar for this series whose artists very much do not suffer from Same Face nor Same Body Syndrome when characters aren't meant to just be members of a faceless/masked/cloned throng. Hello, Ruth/Noone… R.I.P. 😔

Little Nightmares Concept Art Kids
I’ve resurrected and will return to my Little Nightmares roots.
Starting off with a simple theory in my inbox that I long since accidently deleted, but it went like this:
[Six could be named “Six” because there were five kids before her in the concept art.]
The concept kids are used as photo models and two of them are used to model two random kids in the first game. However, all five of them together make an appearance in VLN:
Tumblr media
The concept kid’s framed photos can be found hidden in the Nest.
I’ve seen people theorize that the nomes here could have once been the children in these photos.
But that’s not the case.
We know why these photos exist. Because we know how the Nest works. A child who has had their photo taken and hung has already been captured and turned into a doll for the Pretender to play with. So these nomes are not the five concept kids. If these kids have their own framed photos then that means their corpses are somewhere on the Nest:
Tumblr media
And here they are. All five of them. Having tea and cookies with the Pretender.
Turns out the concept kids never even made it to the Maw and most likely had died way before Six had even arrived on the Nest. So they have nothing to do with her or why she’s named “Six”. And I doubt these kids had numerical names to begin with.
Six is the “Sixth” for a whole different reason.

Okay I have two theories on what the end of the gameplay segment was:
Low and Alone were taken to a giant dollhouse. This was my initial thought when I saw the bed. The Monster Baby is able to project a beam from her eyes that probably immobilizes people (it’s VERY similar to the eye tech on the Maw- we even see one- and we see lost of immobile bodies that aren’t in the room with aforementioned eye tech) and when she catches them, she plays with them like toys. The bodies found throughout the rest of the Necropolis seem to be put in specific spots- such as one sitting in a chair. And at one point, Low and Alone seem to crawl out of a well and into an alleyway, which might mean the Monster Baby has her own town she plays with?
They are in the Counties Psychiatric Institute, or another mental hospital outside of the Nowhere. The bed that they awake in resembles a medical cot, and the white garments on the floor and the simple tiled floor definitely makes it feel like some sort of hospital. We’ve obviously already seen a hospital for the physically ill, so maybe this is a hospital for the mentally ill? And like I said, they seem to wake up in the bed, which means they were asleep and possibly had drifted into the Nowhere where they found the Monster Baby and the Necropolis. Something that makes me hesitant to believe this is that they wake up wearing the same outfits they wore in the Nowhere. I don’t think the podcast ever said anything about what Noone was wearing while she was in the Nowhere- I’m pretty sure the closest thing she mentions is seeing the plaid dress she wore when she arrived at the Institue in the mall- but idk correct me if I’m wrong. So I guess it’s possible that the clothes you wear in the Counties are the same as the ones you wear in the Nowhere- especially if your entire body is vanishing without a trace. I just think that Low and Alone’s outfits would be strange and out of place in the Counties, since they seem to be pretty close to our world since barely anyone knows about the paranormal stuff going on in children’s nightmares.

Sooo…Little Nightmares 3!!! It’s happening!! Yay!!!!
I wanna talk a bout something that appeared in the trailers we got so far!!
So…there happened to be what looked like adult humans…REGULAR SIZED,NOT GIANT adult humans that were frozen in stone!!
I think a lot of people in the fandom thought that in the LN world, people are both super tiny, but grow up to be the size of the enemies you face…that’s what I thought people thought at least!! If it happened with Mono growing up into Thin Man and Six possibly growing up into The Lady,As well as the children in the school being tiny, this might’ve well been a common occurrence!!
BUT NOW WE’RE GETTING TINY ADULT PEOPLE!! So that probably means that giant beings aren’t natural…either that or tiny people aren’t natural
It depends!! Tiny people always tend to be on the short end of the stick (pun May or May not be intended),like in one of the comics, the guests in town spesifically pointed at the child, while they were soon to be taken by the ferryman!! And there’s the obvious part that MOST of the LN world is fitted for giant people!!
I can’t really think of anything meant for smaller folk. Even the desks in the classroom are too big for the students!! So this means two things could be possible!!
A-As giant people became more and more of a regular occurrence, they essentially overthrew those smaller. They definitely had the strength and numbers to do so!! They eventually rebuilt society for their size and left the tiny folk with crumbs…or made said tiny folk into crumbs
Or B-Tiny people were never a natural thing in the first place!! The bigger folk look down at the smaller folk the way we would look at something unnatural or “weird”. And they were forced into the situation they’re in now because of their size
Either way,the messed up,possibly mutated giant folk rule over the lands we see,and those smaller are essentially seen as sentient pests!! Brutal <:(
As for why it took 3 games for us to see any regular sized adult?? I think that while giants ruled over society, the smaller adults took to fighting back and protecting those younger…which is why pretty much none are left.
But that’s what I think anyways!!

Also guys, about the locations of the podcasts: they are real places. 100%. They are real places somewhere in the Nowhere - most importantely, somewhen.
Prophetic dreams are very real in Little Nightmares and they are things that often happen: however, I do not believe this is yet the case for Noone. She describes feeling sensations and smells multiple times, something that can only happen if the plane of reality one is in is... well. Real. She also describes feeling Jester's presence as she does with Otto's, who is a real person in the real world alongside her. The fact that Noone isn't currently fully there yet doesn't necessarely mean the places aren't real.
Now, whether she's visiting the past versions of some already existing locations is up to debate (COUGH THE BATHHOUSE COUGH), and that locations and habitants of said locations can be parallels to some already existing ones, but the only certainty we have at this point is that these other places that are being described and witnessed by Noone are real places somewhere. After all, the Nowhere is an incredibly vast place of which we have explored incredibly little.
Would it be so surprising if the places Noone visits are separate from the, like, 3 ones we have visited?
Tumblr media
(map is from LN II, the school, and is supposedly rappresenting a region of which we only see a single city.)
And another thing, actually: I have seen many compare the Lady to the Woman in Chains, but honestly, after reading through the transcript of the first episode of TSON made by @softichill... the two sound like the complete opposite of each other, appearence and behaviour wise.
The Woman in Chains is described as having a "stretched back face", therefore causing her to have wrinkles due to how her face is structured, which explains Noone talking about her as being "both old and young". There is no concealing, no mask, nothing to hide her face. She doesn't live in secrecy like the Lady does -- quite the contrary, infact.
And about features: in both her forms, the Lady's face looks the opposite of hers. Either completely relaxed, or... nearly like it's melting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have also seen some people try to claim that the "familiar outfit" as a reference to the Lady's kimono, but you must remember who the narrator is. The outfit is familiar to Noone. Not us. It is likely that the Woman is wearing either a nun's dress (Noone mentions seeing three laying on a bed in the Prisoner's bedroom) or something Noone might have seen from the institution she's kept in.
While the Lady does thrive in her occupation, she doesn't necessarely take joy in it like the Woman in Chains (Prison Ward, atp) does. For the Lady, it's much more a matter of survival. She is on the Maw because it's convenient, see as she's in a powerful position. The Woman in Chains is instead happily preparing torture devices to haunt the Prisoners with.
Some parallels are certainly there. Referring to them as being, even metaphorically, the same person... it would mean that the team wrote a very bad analogy. They are nothing alike in any other aspect BUT their occupation. Funnily enough, you could say the Thin Man and the Signal Tower operate in a near identical manner to both these places. He's also the living center/battery of his own mechanism.
Noone also mentions that the Workers seem to be made of shadows, similarly to the Shadow Children. However, it is also evident that these beings are different, as they work and can hold objects much like the nomes. Later, when she meets a living child, she notes that they have black goo in their hair that moves like shadows. If that's the same material the Workers are made of, then this would make them some sort of liquid entities.
Lastly, about the inhabitants themselves: no one else in this Prison is here because they want to be. The Prisoners are not like the Guests, who come on the Maw willingly. The Workers are mindless beings, unlike the Nomes who draw and the Shadow Kids who play just like children. The child and Noone want to leave... and that's understandable.
My friend @chorusofkhonshu smartly pointed this out, so I'm just gonna copy and paste what he said word for word.
"So I thought, if these creatures are made of liquid, it has to come from somewhere. So my mind wandered to the prisoners, their purpose. Perhaps like the Maw and Signal Tower need to absorb people. The Signal Towers thru TVs and the Maw thru the Lady. What if those prisoners are only alive to be bled dry so long as they live. Noone smells the prisoner rotting. All those prisoners have to share some purpose, they might be tortured. Some device that the lady there has. She uses straps and cranks. Masks with spikes in the mouth. It runs on tortured souls."
And just as Noone mentions later on:
Tumblr media
Swelling.
Tumblr media
If anything... rather than paralleling Six's journey, Noone seems to be living it backwards. Completely backwards.
... Mh.

The Sounds of Nightmares episode 6 analysis: Going Nowhere
An interesting finale, one that leaves the door open to further expand from the ever-growing gnarled branches of this universe we've grown to love.
The Dressing Room:
The dream Noone, or rather Ruth, recounts at the beginning is quite interesting, the parallels to past episodes, especially episode 4 are interesting but lack enough focus for us to say anything for sure. The Mannequin woman's actions being noted to match that of the Nowhere itself is very fascinating. Perhaps she's more significant the we can currently know.
The Threshold:
The barrier to the nowhere being a semi-existent, pitch black mist is something that lines up well with the smoke pouring from the mirror in the LN3 banner, especially given it's the first game where the protags aim to leave Nowhere entirely.
Crossing Over:
The fact that the Ferryman knew Noone's real name contrasts with the Mall who only knew her as "No one", almost as if that was their to symbolize that even the eye structures (or at least some of them) are inferior to the Ferryman in terms of grasp on visitors and other worlds in general.
The fact Ruth's voice audibly distorted when the door closed tells me she was likely to become a resident very quickly, possibly due to all hat she experienced before ending up in the CPI.
The Real Aim:
The final reveal of the Ferryman speaking to Otto all along makes some question more interesting to ponder, why is Otto the only adult we've seen the Nowhere take interest in, was taking Cici another way of "pushing" him to "plunge", was that alone meant to be enough and the kids at the CPI are now a back up plan? Is Otto being pursued becomes he would have a special power in the Nowhere, one that is crucial for one reason or another, or is it something we have no current hints about? Is Otto getting to Nowhere even possible or is he just being used to basically deliver kids to the Ferryman? We can only look to time with hopes of eventually answering some of these questions.
Closing Thoughts:
The Sounds of Nightmares was an incredible experience and I applaud everyone who contributed to any language version of it. I eagerly look forward to what other ways we'll see of exploring my favorite horror franchise, maybe even through another podcast at some point, again, time will tell.

do u know who each of the virtual singers r supposed to represent in each Sekai? I think some are more obvious than others (Saki and Ena for Rin), but I’m not sure about everyone
The general concept of the Leo/need Vsingers seems to be derived from Saki's idea of an "ideal high school experience", so there's a big focus on senpai-kohai dynamics.
Luka is pretty much entirely based on the ideal senpai that Saki wanted in high school. She's kind, responsible, mature. She's what you'd expect from a good senpai.
Miku takes some traits from Ichika. Both of them are somewhat insecure about their abilities, but nonetheless hardworking. Also both of them are easy to embarrass.
Rin is literally just Saki - she’s energetic, enthusiastic, and nicknames all her friends; they have similar interests, such as hairstyling, and Rin has even read some of Saki's manga collection.
KAITO seems to take traits from both Ichika and Shiho: he's shy and underconfident like Ichika, and introverted yet passionate about music like Shiho. However his introversion is dialed up from Ichika and Shiho’s, and he doesn’t think he would be able to handle the social life that the girls have.
MEIKO acts as a foil to Honami, being more confident and better at facing conflict, but she does have some similar traits to her as well, such as being the "team mom" figure.
Len is usually associated with Honami and is sometimes used to reflect her conflicts in stories. His personality doesn't seem to heavily influenced by anyone though.
MORE MORE JUMP!'s Virtual Singers seem largely inspired by Minori's idealistic view of the idol industry.
Specifically Miku seems to be based on the idea of a perfect idol, or, Minori's impression of Haruka before actually meeting her in-person. Also this Miku starts off as a pretty flat character and is gradually given more personality and character quirks, which might reflect Minori learning about the real Haruka.
Rin is based on Minori. They’re both amateur idols striving to be at the same level as their peers. They’re also both upbeat, optimistic and somewhat naive. Rin looks up a lot to her fellow idols, yet another trait shared with Minori. Huh.
Len is based on Haruka. He has her “princely idol aura” that is practically just his actual personality, as well as Haruka’s level-headedness and maturity.
Luka is based on Shizuku, she's the “perfect”, elegant idol who's actually more of an airhead than her image lets on. There's a reason she first appears in Color of Myself! and acts as Shizuku’s main confidant
MEIKO is more difficult to place, but I think she might be derived from Airi a bit - her speciality is interacting with the audience, something Airi is good at thanks to her TV work. Also both of them have a similar sort of peppiness.
KAITO is more of a composite character - he's a huge fan of idols, just like Minori and Airi, he has Haruka's workaholic tendencies, and Haruka and Airi's responsibility and organisation. There's probably something that links him to Shizuku that I'm forgetting.
next three are much longer because deeper lore and because i found a better writing flow, so they’re under the cut
Vivid BAD SQAUD's virtual singers are an odd case in which it's not extremely obvious which member they are derived from.
MEIKO is very clearly meant to be a Vsinger equivalent to Ken, instead of any of the members. She acts as a sort of guiding figure to them and has a sort of parental vibe similar to how Ken is with all the VBS kids. Neither of them are active as singers either. I also read an interesting theory that she's based on Kohane recently, which you can find here (near the bottom of the first section).
Miku has traits of everyone in VBS except Kohane: Akito's competitiveness and sore loser tendencies, Toya's more cool/calm demeanour, his love of coffee, and abysmal cooking skills, and An's passion for music (which all of them have but An’s is what unlocked the SEKAI). Someone also sent in an ask one time saying that she might be based on Nagi to some extent, which I think makes sense but is probably just coincidental since I think Nagi was added to the VBS story pretty late.
KAITO is derived from the BAD DOGS members, even if it isn't apparent at first because of how outwardly different he is. He's more of a foil to them, but has a lot of their personality traits. He has Akito's sweet tooth and tendency to be lazy about things that don't interest him, and Toya's air-headedness and strong skills in his field of interest.
Luka seems a lot like An, she's energetic and carefree, though I also believe that these could be taken from Nagi as well, since Luka was added after Nagi was first mentioned (but just before she first appeared) so they were probably written at the same time).
Len is a bit more obvious - he takes a lot of traits from Akito. Both of them want to be respected by the people around them, and hate it when people treat them as inferior. Akito has a lighthearted rivalry with An but has a lot of respect for Toya, while Len has both of these with his own partner, Rin.
Rin has traits from multiple characters like Miku does. She bickers with Len just like An and Akito do with each other, and she's the most affected by An's grief in Light Up the Fire. Both she and An are pretty energetic as well. On the other hand, she has Akito's stubborness and more tsundere-ish traits. As a third option, Akito and Rin's first kizuna title is "Speaking of pancakes" and their third kizuna title is "You remind me of...", suggesting that Akito might see Ena in her.
Also Rin and Len are usually used to reflect any conflicts that Vivids and BAD DOGS have, for example in the main story when Rin and Len split and then BAD DOGS did later in the story.
WonderlandsxShowtime's VSingers are fun for me to explain actually, because while it's explicitly stated that everything in the SEKAI reflects something from Tsukasa's psyche (#5 & 6 here), there's still the fact that fate might be real in the game.
Since everything in the SEKAI is a part of Tsukasa’s psyche, this has to extend to the Virtual Singers. They even have stars on their costumes just to make it clear. Think of it like in cartoons and comics when a character gets split into all their different personalities. Presumably: KAITO is his responsible older brother side, MEIKO is his creativity, Len is his curiosity and enthusiasm, and Rin is his more childish/playful side. The SEKAI is formed from things from his childhood (keep that in mind), which is probably why Miku acts like a kid (same applies to Rin. and Len. and a lot of things). Luka is from his desire to make people happy. Now in more detail:
KAITO is by far the most responsible and mature Vsinger in Wonderland SEKAI, and also happens to be their troupe leader. He's very caring in an older sibling-type way; Emu even calls him KAITO-nii-chan (big brother KAITO). That said, KAITO is sort of a foil to Tsukasa, being much more level-headed and humble than Tsukasa is. I think that may be to highlight the idea that he's created from specifically the reliable older brother part of Tsukasa' personality.
There's some older stuff on this blog where I wasn't sure exactly where Luka came from, but apparently it's explicitly stated in her debut card story that she comes from Tsukasa's desire to make people happy. My bad. She only sleeps when everyone is smiling, and will be wide awake when something is wrong. Makes sense, since she debuted in Tenma Household's Hinamatsuri, in which Saki and Tsukasa had a falling out, and Saki is the source of Tsukasa's drive to make people smile.
Now we get into weird fate shit and SEKAI physics. Miku is quite childish and is implied to be younger than the members of WxS, which makes sense when you consider that the Wonderland SEKAI draws from Tsukasa's childhood memories and the shows he put on for Saki. That said, she also heavily draws from Emu, with them both using the same type of speech, being very hyperactive, full of childlike wonder etc. Miku existed before Tsukasa knew who Emu was, so it could be that Miku is entirely based on Tsukasa's experience with childhood, but also Miku knows who Emu is when the SEKAI forms, so it could go either way. or both.
Len is very enthusiatic and loves learning new things. Out of everyone, Len is closest to Rui (while also being a foil to his personality, with Len being more energetic and open than Rui is). This makes sense actually, when you consider that although he acts annoyed at times, Tsukasa does gradually get more enthusiastic about Rui's stage directing and stunts. Another thing that occurred to me is that Len first spawns in not too long after the main story, and first meets WxS in Wonder Halloween, both of which involve Tsukasa and Rui getting into a fight followed by a look into Rui's past of being outcast by everyone for being "weird". So maybe Len was partially created because of Rui wanting people to not distance themselves from him and actually take an interest in his work. Maybe this is something Tsukasa picked up on as well, it is his SEKAI after all. I don't know whether this was intentional, but I think it could be. Most things in this game are lol.
Rin is very playful and childlike in a similar vein to Miku. She’s also closest to Nene out of all of WxS, and acts as a foil to her in the same way Len is one to Rui. Rin is extroverted and childish in comparision to Nene who’s shy and acts as the straight man within her group. Rin initially doesn’t understand Nene’s shyness, probably because of how different her own personality is. Considering that Rin first spawned in just after the main story, her relationship with Nene might reflect the differences between Tsukasa and Nene (and the fact that Nene’s social anxiety was something that Tsukasa snapped at her about in the main story). Also Rin and Len are considered as best friends in this SEKAI, which makes sense considering that they're foils to childhood best friends.
MEIKO is the most creative of the Vsingers and comes up with very imaginative and wacky ideas, much like Emu and Rui do. However her creativity probably stems from Tsukasa, who writes a lot of WxS’ plays, and then she gets the wild imagination on top of that from the other two. MEIKO is also known for her strength, which comes from Rui, and her good hearing (first shown in POP IN MY HEART!!), which comes from Emu.
And now you have to hear something similar with Mafuyu.
The 25-ji, Nightcord de. Virtual Singers are a bit more complicated than the WxS ones. While all of them draw from Mafuyu to some degree, some of them were created more by something that she needs than something that she is. There’s also far more obvious influences from the other N25 members.
Miku and KAITO are more obviously created by something Mafuyu needed, even though they both have traits of Mafuyu as well. Rin and MEIKO are more influenced by the other members, and Luka is a bit of both. Len is influenced by Mafuyu’s emotions alone. Now in more detail:
It’s very apparent that Miku exists to be a comforting figure to Mafuyu. The SEKAI manifested at a point when Mafuyu was extremely depressed and suicidal, and just needed someone to listen to her and understand. That said, Miku starts out quite similar to Mafuyu, rarely experiencing any strong emotion if any emotion at all. Both of them gradually start to feel more as the story goes on, and both are seen smiling more often than they used to nowadays.
Rin is very strongly influenced by Ena. She’s outwardly irritable and moody, but actually does care and enjoys the company of those around her, even if she doesn’t show it a lot. A tsundere, if you will. Despite her usual attitude, she does actually want to help the N25 girls, which she also shares with Ena. Rin’s connection to Mafuyu is less obvious, but I think it might be through her pretty blunt way of speaking and the fact she quite often just says whatever she thinks.
MEIKO is heavily influenced by Mizuki. She represents the distance that Mizuki puts between themself and the other N25 members, keeping herself away from the other Vsingers and from the N25 girls. She first appears in Secret Distance just to make it extra obvious. However I think she’s also influenced by Mafuyu’s very passive approach to her situation. MEIKO often just watches from a distance and sees how things go, which is close to what Mafuyu did at the time. Mafuyu doesn’t do a huge amount to help herself early on in the story, she does try to feel more, but relies a lot on Kanade. It isn’t until KAITO appears that she’s given more of a forceful push to actually face how things are, stop distancing herself from her problems, and take action.
Luka is derived from the people around Mafuyu who are trying to help her, particularly Kanade and Ena. In Luka's Doing Things My Own Way card story, Mafuyu says that Luka reminds her of Ena, specifically her perceptiveness and tendency to point out things about Mafuyu that she herself isn't aware of. She quickly takes this back though, and then says that Luka is more similar to Kanade because of her ability to understand what Mafuyu is feeling when Mafuyu isn't sure of it herself. In terms of personality, she is closest to Mizuki, being more on the playful and teasing side, mainly towards MEIKO. Luka is like a lighter version of what KAITO ended up being. She's not afraid to be honest and realistic, and is a bit firmer than the other vsingers are. She's not afraid to give them a push when she thinks they need it, as seen in her debut in Carnation Recollection.
Len spawns during Guiding a Lost Child to What Lies Beyond, where Mafuyu's mother starts to find out about Mafuyu doing music and taking action. He's sort of similar to the Wonderland SEKAI Virtual Singers, in the way he represents Mafuyu's emotions in a very childlike way. He's scared because Mafuyu is scared of her mother, he's sad because Mafuyu doesn't want music to be taken away from her, he feels lost and alone because Mafuyu feels that way too, he's close to Miku because Mafuyu is and needs her comfort. Some of this is stuff that Mafuyu doesn't even realise, which brings back the idea from Wonderland SEKAI that the SEKAI can create things on the basis of your subconscious.
KAITO definitely embodies that idea. He's Mafuyu's anger, yet she's never angry. He's from all her repressed anger. He appears when Mafuyu's mother makes her life well and truly miserable, attempting to cut her off from N25. Mafuyu hates this, but she doesn't want to admit that her mother is the problem, she doesn't realise just how angry it's making her, how angry her mother is making her. She's holding all of it back, but it manages to leak out in the form of KAITO. As soon as he arrives in the SEKAI, he wants to talk to Mafuyu, find out what's going on and what caused the Empty SEKAI to be, well, empty. As soon as he finds out this is Mrs Asahina's fault, he tells it to Mafuyu's face. Mafuyu was never going to accept it on her own, she needed a push, and a strong one. KAITO does what needs to be done, and he's similar to Luka in that way, he's just way more aggressive and unapologetic. He's almost... bitter, for lack of a better word. Like I said earlier, he's here to help Mafuyu, as well as represent her.

[AU] LITTLE NIGHTMARES: DARK FATE (PART 41)
Let the FIGHT BEGIN! WOOOOOOOHHHHH!! HAHAHAHAHHAHA I WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS MOMENT!!

Bro, what the hell did Mono do to make everything wrong? He did something more than just escape the loop, hm? *Mysterious sounds*
📌 EXPLANATION: Okay, for those who didn't understand, Mirror Man wanted Six to remain in the mirror dimension where he could enjoy her fears and abilities (yes, he was deceiving this whole time), thus, he would become more powerful than his opponents (North Wind and The Broadcaster), in addition to being able to expand throughout the world of Nowhere.

The future of Little Nightmares, the worlds final fate.
I was recently asked where I think the Little Nightmares story is headed and what will become of this world. We have always theorized the world was plagued by the eye entity and its many forms, but upon seeing the true impact its existence had on the world, we realized something…whatever this thing was doing to the world… was far worse than we could have ever imagined.
Tumblr media
From what we have seen thus far, people are dying, children are being hunted and imprisoned, cities and towns are crumbling as the Residents of the world roam around, fueled by their corrupted desires and base instincts. It seems no matter where we go, nor what we see... the story remains the same... the more the eye entity continues to feed and spread its influence, the more the life of this world continues to rot and wither away,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and whatever future this world holds for the few children who manage to live through it, are merely doomed to suffer the same fate as the other adults who have had the misfortune of being corrupted by the influence of the eye entity, their only future is to one day share the same fate as the rest of the Residents, until they to are consumed by the very creature which continues to thrive off of the lives of others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One can only dream of what horrors have befallen onto the rest of the world, what tragedies have occurred to those who did not deserve to suffer. I understand why people would want this world to be saved, but upon understanding the true horrors children such as Six and Mono have had to bare through, it had become all to clear that whatever this world used to be…was gone. This world the children are so desperately trying to run and hide from...wasn’t their world anymore, it wasn’t for quite some time, it had become a world of nightmares and monsters, and for this very reason….it must be destroyed…not by those who have learned to evade it, but by the hands of those who have accepted this world for what it is and are more than willing to take action against it without fear of what it could do to them, only then will this world be truly saved for those who remain .
