I've been rewatching MLP with my partner recently, and was pleased to discover that my sonboy Ace was ahead of the curve as far as "redeemed changelings" went! I compared the core themes for what became his story with the iconic "the times they are a-changeling" episode like so:

For context comparison - Ace's story is about him not fitting into the changeling empire, wanting to Make Connections and Have Friends rather than taking advantage of and feed off of other ponies. He eventually defects, trying to make a life for himself somewhere using a Unique identity, but he is constantly struggling with balancing his hunger with his lifestyle. whenever he gets found out he gets inevitably chased out of town, and it takes another oddball to befriend him before any pony will even really give him a chance As Himself.

The episode - Thorax is a changeling who always felt out of place in the changeling kingdom, and left after the events of the s2 two-part episode that introduced the species. He is drawn to the crystal kingdom, torn between his hunger and his desire to make genuine friends. Spike finds him and does his best to not only befriend Thorax himself, but also introduce him to the others - at first under a unique identity. It goes badly at first but the duo try again with Thorax As Himself and Thorax is given a chance.

...And while I didn't have his story entirely set by the initial post, an old reference post description from 2015 makes it clear that his concept was pretty established a good time before the episode in question aired!

I can't say his concept is THAT unique, but it does make me proud to know I was ahead of the series curve on this one ^^

Bonus fact I'm still geeked over to this day, since we're talking about him:

He was one of the lucky few who got to be featured as a background cameo in Ink Potts' animation project! Not sure how big a brag that is in practice, but I'll endlessly be thankful and excited that he got to be placed in a video like this, even if by chance. ^^

SPCVerse plays Among Us

Kasumi:

Slow to pick up the premise of the game and how to play, like how you might expect a parent to be

"how do you vent?" "I killed but can't seem to kill again, why is that?" "where is the map again?"

Figures it out eventually, isn't too bad all things considered

"We're not leaving this table until we find out who killed Zeke. I don't care if I have to continue this via the red button but we're getting to the bottom of this. ovo"

Observant enough to be good at tracking imposters once she gets a hang of the game

Ezekiel:

Is fine with playing but tends to be quick to want to be killed off, especially if he's the impostor - he finds the sneaking aspect to be too much hassle. He'll just sabotage from there, thanks.

"If you killed my wife I'm obliterating you first thing next time I get impostor"

Actually good at being an impostor, just gives up easily.

Kenneth:

Never kills as impostor. Ever.

Refuses to play as one in hide and seek mode. Just dances around people or goofs off instead

Great backup as sabotage, and not bad at escaping suspicion - he always sounds a little on edge no matter what role he gets

never phased by being killed, just casually moves on to his Ghost Tasks

Nicky:

competitive, a bit of a sore loser

trash talk central, full of fake threats of killing either as crewmate or impostor

usually considered sus first as a result

will gripe about tasks

a bit of a gossip, the type to inadvertantly provide misleading info or redirect conversations entirely (unless Kasumi's mad about Zeke being killed, that is)

Cayden:

different color every time, but always has his pet(s) walking with him

good sense of humor, will crack jokes about unideal developments or fake theatrics eg if he gets ejected, or killed

Also observant like Kasumi, but waits until latter half of the game to bring up evidence from the very first round half the time

will do silly dances at you

Jason + Invert

Notoriously switch in and out midgame, changing their gaming styles radically.

Will not switch during discussions, but if one feels like the other is doing a poor job of something they will swap (typically this is Invert taking over Jason's impostor work, though Jason will switch in for discussions if he thinks Invert's on thin ice)

Remi:

Has unerring confidence, even if she says something that comes off as sus she does not waver.

This surprisingly throws people off enough that she avoids getting ejected

Reuben:

Horrible, awful liar.

not horrible at actually playing impostor per se, but he can never keep his cool when it comes to avoiding detection.

Nashi

Loves the concept, hates the arbitrary rules and limitations.

"What do you mean I can't just kill relentlessly?" "Possession isn't even an option?"

Always wants to play Hide and Seek mode. Always.

Favored game when he's regressed

sore loser if he loses as an impostor

Cheshire:

Can't stand hide and seek mode. Prefers having a fighting chance

Iris:

Can be roped into playing, but doesn't really care to

you're playing on the airship? Congrats, there is now a permanent resident to the greenhouse portion of the map

players hesitate to go in there often when playing with her, fearing she may have the impostor role.

Milo:

Will only play if Iris asks.

she sometimes (jokingly) does this to him in a sort of "if I have to play, so do you" manner.

Doesn't care either way, focuses on tasks until it's all over.

Harris:

Too observant, strat levels through the roof

will not hesitate to throw fellow impostors under the bus - including Reuben

can smoothtalk their way out of suspicion - or rather, can talk circles around the others until no one can keep track of what's what

Cura:

Tries playing because Freedom plays it

Gets easily misled

EMOTIVE RANKING, FROM MOST TO LEAST:

(Copypasted from an old Discord conversation about some of my spc ocs!)

Teito - near cartoonish levels of expressive, all the time full stop. This boy is a posterchild for BPD emotional extremes in visual form

Steve - v jovial, heart on his sleeve type

Sam - sometimes calculated expressions, sometimes they muddle or get downplayed, but Usually pretty expressive otherwise (genuine or not)

Milo - intentionally calculated and exaggerated expressions (for what his actual reaction is) to seem more hinged than he is

Tetsuo - subdued personality but will emote accordingly when his emotions are likewise heightened

Kenji - very emotive but Only lets himself emote anger or irritation, really. He Can emote other emotions but they're often more subtle or downplayed

Miles - emotes naturally and Would be an average display of emoting except the stiffness of his body reduces the expressions without his noticing

Nora - not unemotive, but doesn't show much of what's going on. Usually defaults to simplistic more positive expressions

Harris - big obscuring glasses and also seems to have a limited range they let themself emote in

Iris - does not know how to emote herself due to The Autisms™️

"Doc"- too much of his face is obscured
