Attention afterglow peeps @moyokeansimblr recently released this amazing set that defaults almost every hair in the game this also means I probably won't feel the need to make as many of my own defaults so I'm not sure what's to come on my own blog I'll still be active but there will probably be some type of content shift 👀

Moyo's Great Big Afterglow Default Project

HOORAH! 🥳Finally I can share with you guys! There's a lot to get through here so some notes beforehand.

There are way, way too many hairs to list and people to credit. See everything that's included and who all deserves credit in the spreadsheet I made for this project!

Not every hair is replaced! I don't know much about hidden clone hairs, for example. Some of them are replaced if the default I used as a base included them but most probably are not.

I chose to hide a bunch of the OFB hats and whatnot when I was starting to get burnt out of this project. See what hairs I've hidden on the hiders tab of the spreadsheet. Hiders are not included, but there's a link to them.

There's a few defaults I'm using from loosiap, rudhira and seabens. They are not included, see those in the defaults by others tab of the spreadsheet.

I use a bunch of no/random npc hair mods so not all npc hairs are replaced. See those in the no/random npc tab of the spreadsheet.

I use custom turn ons that change the one for hats so a lot of the hat hairs are replaced with non-hat hairs. I think most of the flags in simpe are changed to non-hat too but not positive - some might still be hat flagged.

Defaults where all I did was change the texture that didn't contain extra ages include them in a separate file because I didn't want to add them to the main file and mess anything up. Defaults done by me have them included in the main file.

Nearly every default has extra ages, but a few do not.

The Notes column of the spreadsheet mostly contains notes I wrote for myself regarding the custom versions of hairs I retextured (which will all be uploaded) but some of them do apply to the default too. I'm so brain fried though so I'm leaving it in the sheet. You can generally ignore - or read them if you want!

Defaults are in their own folders, and include a pic of the hair they're replacing and a pic of what they're replaced with...if the kind people on the default database are bored.

I'd never made a default replacement for hair before this so if any of these are not made in the best, most optimal way, apologies. I was learning as I went!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reach out if you notice any wonkiness. This was worked on over 3 of the most stressful months of my life so I'd not be surprised if I screwed anything up. Also if I forgot to mention anything in this post that you'd like to know, don't hesitate to ask that too!

Kitchen and Bath Defaults

At last i've finished defaulting the kitchen and bath hairs, huge shout out to @rudhira for helping me with ponybandanablue and bandanapurple i was having a lot of issues because of the hair having hatless states and my lack of knowledge about how to edit hairs with hat/hatless states i'm not sure these would be getting released right now without her help. as usual download and all info under the cut.

i've been slowly updating the spreadsheet list of afterglow for awhile now and it's currently upto date to my knowledge if i missed something let me know.

also important updates, any unreleased hairs that where on the spreadsheet have been removed, i added 4 sheets the first one is cc hairs theres currently 1389 second is defaults theres currently 265 third is extras which is things like eyebrows facial hair hairlines ect last is resources which is all resources for cc creators.

Yes but I'm working on latest EP to base game in order so apartment life next and I can't find any hairs I like to use as defaults besides doing my old rockabilly default in afterglow I have no clue what to do with any apartment life hairs if anyone has any suggestions for hairs to use I might do it

Yep, the Afterglow system got me after all. So have a dump! This stemmed from me not wanting to redo the portraits my Strangetown simmies have on their character page and for whatever reason my brain thought retexturing 28 (41‼️) hairs was the less lazy option 😅 All hairs come in the 4 Afterglow naturals, gray linked to black. I used seabens' gimp curves because I didn't have the energy to re-learn photoshop but comparing these to other Afterglow hairs I'm 99% sure the colors are all right.

Ok so life update I'm taking an indefinite break from the Sims, I didn't want to talk about this at first because I know this will piss some ppl off since I don't talk about irl stuff on this blog but I've been homeless since November 3rd and I might not be able to play Sims for months or maybe even years this blog will be almost inactive for awhile I still check Tumblr sometimes tho I just don't always reply right away, as for the afterglow spreadsheet I'm still updating it but not as frequently since I don't have access to my PC and updating it on mobile is a little harder to copy paste the links and stuff, someday I want to play the Sims again but until then it makes me happy seeing new afterglow stuff and Sims 2 stuff in general I miss y'all
