The blurry wife is Amelia and after the werewolf hunt (in Texas, remember) Sam showed up at her house and she was like ‘you got a new dog’ and he was like ‘my brother died’ and she was like ‘Sam that was eight years ago’ and he was like 'I have to tell you some stuff’

The blurry wife is Dr Cara light of my life and Sam runs into her in a hospital near Des Moines after his arm nearly gets taken off hunting this huge insect-monster thing and she’s halfway through examining him before they realise who each other are

The blurry wife is Lindsey from 5x04 and Sam comes across her in an AA meeting because actually he doesn’t do so well for a while after Dean dies

The blurry wife is Piper because Sam ended up stopping at her diner again (not even on purpose he was just passing through that way) and she wasn’t going to make the same mistake twice

The blurry wife is not a wife but just a girlfriend who he has for a while, he has a few of them over time because he’s a very hot single dad and he likes all of them a lot and eventually he figures out how to make himself emotionally vulnerable to people again

and the kid? Sam picks up on a hunt (maybe even that werewolf hunt, because he’s an emotional mess and the kid’s all alone and there aren’t any, Sam tries his best to track them down but there are no family alive and the kid just looks at him, a tiny baby maybe four months old, and Sam thinks about his own dad and how he must have felt after Mary died and he was left on his own with a baby and a four year old child. And he thinks about Jack, Sam’s kid, and how he saved the world and Sam thinks, I can do this. I can.)

I've actually never noticed this before, but I love that when the siren is first introduced, he says "but get this" before sharing his theory. It's such a perfect little hint that it's emulating Sammy.

You know what drives me fucking crazy to think about? The fact that when Sam comes back from the cage, no one close to him thanks him for his sacrifice or tells him that what he did was brave and noble and good. He gets his soul back and Bobby and Dean don't even mention how fucking amazing what he did was? You know who does tell him that, though? Fucking Lucifer: "Sam, have I ever told you how much I respect you? Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't like you. I never liked you. [...] But in this moment, when you stood toe to toe with me and won, I gotta say, you had balls kid. You were willing to do the hard thing, if it meant saving the world."
