Marathons Are Insane

About ten hours of marathoning is what you dedicate to the entirety of Gravity Falls. What does this mean? It means that it’s one in the morning, we’ve been at this for five hours already, have chugged half a liter of Mountain Dew, eaten a few sugar cookies, bags of chips, tubs of Ben & Jerry’s, and with two previous nights of sleep, we can safely say that Aoph and I are complete nut cases.

We’ve also got a few interesting theories that popped up. First is a theory that, perhaps, the goat is the author. Yes, we’ve slept about ten hours the past few days. This was Aoph’s mind creation, which was quite a creative outburst. 

Look at those whacky eyes, and that missing horn piece. The missing horn could be leftover remnants of missing fingers lost at some point which could have, in theory, added up to a total of six. 

Interrupting said theory, I’d like to point out that the six fingers on the journals are left hands and McGucket’s bandaged hand is his right hand. So there’s that.

Anyway, my theory for Gompers the goat is that perhaps he is none other than Bill Cipher possessing an animal. Have you seen those strange gold eyes with sideways cat-eye pupils? He shows up at quite a variety of important events. I would include photos but it’s one in the morning and I’m tired. Instead, here’s a list of a few of the times that goat shows up right before or right after important plot events:

Dipper’s bed when he and Mabel first move into the attic. 

Discovering the journal for the first time.

When the gnomes are defeated. He kidnaps a gnome.

Immediately after Wax Stan is decapitated.

When the twins go to confront Manly Dan about the wax figure’s murder, which leads to the left-handed axe discovery. (left-handed axe? huh)

He appears at the edge of the bottomless pit when the others fall in.

He steals the license plate on Ergman Bratzman’s limo, which leads to his arrest.

And yeah, there are more but I’m too lazy to try and remember them. So there are a couple of theories on Gompers. Whatever is going on with this goat, it’s not normal. If you have the latest book full of Dipper’s and Mabel’s adventures (Dipper’s And Mabel’s Guide To Mystery And Nonstop Fun), you’ll see a whole section on Dipper’s suspicions about Gompers.

More food for thought: In the episode with the wax figures, there’s one extra who is missing part of his finger on one hand. He shows up now and again. Another possible author? Who knows.
