the flower shop seemed a little more crowded than usual something that sage usually would greet with a smile, but for some reason it made them a little nervous. they'd been floating around cornelia street a while and, while she was certain a few people were well aware of who they were, no one had disrupted their peace yet. part of them was certain that this would be that day, the day someone pointed at them and went hey, aren't you that ceo everyone always seems so mad at? still, they couldn't let that deter them from living their life; couldn't let it stop them from getting outside and the fresh air they so desperately needed.

so here they were, hands shoved in the pockets of a long cardigan as they resisted the urge to touch every leaf they saw because they didn't belong to them. they knew how fragile a plant could be. still, they couldn't stop themselves when a cluster of white bells jumped out to them. thin fingers grazed over the long, green leaves – careful to avoid the flowers.

❝ i've heard lily of the valley is actually quite easy to keep alive, right? ❞ they asked, head turning to the person nearest them. it was mostly a hope that they even knew the answer, but sage was relatively certain remembering the text correctly. ❝ just...keep it moist and it should thrive? ❞ they had already resigned themself to buying the pot regardless.
