(OKAY SO i’m studying comics this year at uni and this is my very first fully fleshed out comic!! we had to take an opening scene from a tv show or movie, redraw it, and create our own story from that as a jumping point,, you can read it below the cut!!)

i had to oc-ify worf and make the story different from the original show, so it’s not really in canon or in character - but i love the way it turned out anyway! expect some more fancomics in the future!! :3

Ok, so follow me here

The lizard assassin is fucking the twink doctor, and the twink Doctor is fucking that cool Irish dude who supports unions (based). The twink Doctor is ALSO fucking an android but that’s the other show

The union man is married a schoolteacher (based) who is helping their wife’s planet ecologically recover from a fascist occupation, because she’s awesome

Their wife is an anti fascist freedom fighter (based) and the biggest lesbian you’ve ever seen. The union guy is like, an exception. And so is her goo boyfriend. Goo boyfriend might enemies to lovers-ing the local bar owner. AND she’s dating two different women hosting the same worm (bad news about the tall one) and they’re both madly in love with their wife from a previous lifetime. The tall one I s also fucking that dude with the funky sword and two dicks. They’re married, actually.

The short worm girl and the terrorist (based) are both dating this girl who works slot machines who helps her husband start a union (based). She and her husband later become the leaders of an entire government and pass pro worker and feminist reforms (based)

The terrorist (based) also has a complicated toxic yuri situationship with her kinky evil dominatrix alternate universe self who is a dictator (god forbid women have hobbies)

In the alternate universe the short worm girl is a goth and married to the slot machines girl who’s a freedom fighter. The tall worm girl is in a throuple with the twink Doctor but he’s not a doctor he’s an asshole and the captain who in the main universe is everybody’s dad.

He is the best dad in the multiverse and cooks a mean jumbalaya. This is vital information

He has a cool space trucker wife and a son who’s a writer and best friends with the son of the alien labor union spouses. Dad might be doing an enemies to lovers thing with this theater kid who betrayed him

There’s also this creepy lizard nazi who comes by every once in a while to pester them. He’s the worst.

His daughter however is the most precious soul in the world and she was taken too soon

Deep Space Halloween Zine Information

Hi there, welcome to the Deep Space Halloween Zine information zone, where I try to give all the pertinent information about the zine in one handy post.

Submission Rules

Fandom

This is a Deep Space Nine zine, so please make sure your submissions focus on Deep Space Nine and its characters. However, characters from other trek shows are welcome as "guest stars" in your works.

Theme

This zine will be (very loosely) Halloween themed! The works can be about halloween itself, or they can be spooky, or even just fall themed. This is a very, very loose theme.

Format and Cost

This zine will be released digitally and be completely free!

A version formatted for printing will be available if you so choose to print and assemble the zine yourself!

Acceptable Mediums

Fanfiction (up to 5000 words)

Fan art

Comics

Photo Manips/Collages

Poetry/Original Song Lyrics

(Photos of) sculptures, dioramas, cake art

Basically if it can be put on a piece of paper, it can be eligable!

Zine Cover

If you would like to submit a cover for this zine, please do!

If you submit a cover, it must include the name of the zine (Deep Space Halloween Zine) the issue number (Issue 1) and the year (2025). It should not include signatures or watermarks (credit will of course be listed inside the zine itself).

Covers can be your own art, or can be a photo manipulation.

In the case that multiple covers are submitted, all covers that don't make it to, well, the cover, will be featured as full pages at the end of the zine as "alternate covers," like collected editions of comics do!

Qualifications

You do not need to be an experienced artist/writer/cake decorator/whatever to contribute to this zine!

In fact, beginners are both welcome and encouraged to participate!

Rating

To keep this zine friendly for everyone, we will not be accepting explicit content.

Please keep your works to a rating of Teen+ or lower, or PG-13.

Since this is a halloween themed zine, blood and gore is allowed, as long as it fits a PG-13 rating (use your favourite search engine to find a list of PG-13 horror movies if you need a reference point).

Ships

You can feature ships in your work, or no ships at all if that's more your style.

Ships between minors and adults should be avoided.

AI Generated Work

AI generated work is strickly not allowed.

Don't do it. I will know. And I will find you.

Exclusivity

All works submitted must not have already been posted elsewhere.

All works submitted should remain unposted until the zine is released on Halloween, after which you are allowed to share your work on Tumblr/AO3/Wherever.

Deadlines

Submissions are due on 1 August 2025!

The zine will be released on 31 October 2025!
