I am afraid that I am not comfortable with spiders to such a level as you are, Renfield...

At any rate, you ought to eat your food, not feed it to the flies. I don't want you developing an eating disorder on top of your madness.

Dr. Seward came into my cell and I kept him long enough to show off my spiders! I picked one out and allowed it to crawl over my arm as I spoke to him. I do not know if he was paying attention to what I was saying, since he kept glancing at my sleeve as if the insect would crawl over to him if he looked away for too long.

I tried offering it to him, to hold, and told him that it wouldn't hurt him. I think I almost got through to him, for there was a brief hesitation before he told me no. Maybe next time.
