The Hoshidan festival was definitely an interesting experience, though Minerva had been glad when they left to come back to Askr.  It was almost like she had been going back to Macedon, this place becoming like a second home for her and giving her the same sense of safety and relaxation.  She didn’t have to be on guard and Minerva was able to get a full night’s rest without the stress boring into her.

There had been the idea of grabbing a book from the library, to get some reading material for when she was in her room, either before sleep or just when she needed to rest and not be moving around much.  She had thought about another historical text, though the thought of a fictional story was rather enticing.  History was quite dry at times.

When she opened the library door, Minerva’s eyes immediately went to Ingrid as she seemed nearly buried in tomes and texts.  What was she doing?  Brows furrowed in confusion, the Dragoon taking steps towards the girl before placing her hand atop their shoulder.

“Ingrid?  What are you doing?  How long have you been here?”

So if you’ve known me long enough I’m sure at some point I went on a rant about how my Minerva is slightly canon divergent when it comes to Michalis and her feelings towards him.

I realize in the game she seems reluctant to fight him, wishing for things to be as easy as forgiving them and having them lay down their arms.  She wants to forgive him and be a family again, but I find this to be a bit forced on the writer’s part.  I mean think of it.

Your brother that you think you can trust just murders your father, imprisons your younger sister, threatens to kill her if you don’t obey him, and puts your country on the wrong side of a war.  You have to obey him for years, becoming a villain to those who do not know the circumstances and helping him with tarnishing the reputation of the country that you loved, that your father loved, that you wanted to see prosper.

Would you want to forgive him?  After everything he’s done?

I felt that Minerva wanting to forgive him was forced and not genuine, as if trying to force a redemption arc in New Mystery (which they did do).  It just felt wrong.

So that’s why my Minerva still hates Michalis, that she has no love for him anymore.  If she has to, she would execute him once more and there would be no remorse.

Minerva doesn’t regret killing him at all.  To her, he deserved what he got, his head rolling on the ground.

Though despite that, she still had him buried in the royal family’s crypt.  Even after everything he done, she couldn’t revoke his right to be buried there, even if she wanted to have him buried somewhere else or perhaps burned on a pyre.

hell I always complain that our region doesn’t get attention and yet you learned about our neibhour bless also…Macedonian and Bulgarian are almost the same language…So…If you need some insults/swears for your muse, I can probably give you some accurate ones (probably)

I may take you up on that, though like I said, I’ve mostly headcanoned the in game Macedon to be more a mix of German and Greek and not exactly sure where Macedonian and Bulgarian have their roots in. I honestly I really only headcanon Macedon as like Greek and German because I also headcanon Macedon to be rather mountainous hence why the pegasus riders and wyvern riders are rather important.  I know that technically Macedon was said to be a forest-y area but it can still be that while also being mountainous but ye.

I’m in a country on the border of Macedonia so playing SD for the first time and reading Macedon was very surreal tbh

Not as surreal as that, but I had recently gone through and learned about Macedonia in my World History class a few days before I found out about Macedon in Fire Emblem.  That was definitely an interesting thing.

Squints.

With all this talk of RPing in different languages, it reminds me I made the headcanon that Macedon has a mix of Greek and German as their culture.  So probably a weird amalgamation of the two languages.  Minerva probably still swears in Macedonian, which I’ll prolly just end up using either German or Greek for.  Haven’t decided yet.

She watched the other as they laid back down after the short, weak protest they gave.  Minerva could understand how Cynthia felt, trying to say what she did was nothing major, that it meant little and should not be praised.  However, the Macedonian could not agree with her there.

“It may not have been a rescue like you hear in so many stories, but that does not mean it wasn’t special.  You risked yourself to aid me while I was preoccupied and I cannot thank you enough for your help.”  A hand went to gently rest on Cynthia’s shoulder, a soft smile etched onto the Princess’s lips.  She could continue to try and thank them, but she figured it would go nowhere.

“Ah, I was.  After you were hit I brought you and your pegasus back and got you to the healers.  What kind of woman would I be if I didn’t make sure my savior was alright?”
