Pratt: i think he's bi with a masc preference. he fucks up the hope county tinder scene, it's a little bit ridiculous. chronic speed dater. much more fond of casual relationships than anything serious, but i think that stems from a fear of commitment or something else like that.

Mary May: cut and dry transgender pansexual. has most likely only been with men, but i see her with a nonbinary partner wrapped around her finger. pride week at the spread eagle is fucking insane.

Jerome: i cannot in good faith headcanon a godly man as anything other than bisexual. sorry, it's against my moral code. i think he has a very slight masc lean. he's super sentimental though, so i don't think he has much experience other than his actual canonical dead wife.

Tracey Lader: LESBIAN LESBIAN LESBIAN LESBIAN LESBIAN

Wheaty: bisexual in the way that all teenage boys are like a little bit bi. he's a radio host he can't be straight

Kim: straight, and unlike Nick she's a strong ally from the start. very outspoken, but would rather go to a smaller event than go to a pride parade. maybe host a pride barbecue, although i don't know what that entails. you KNOW she went to bat for the queer kids in college. she's my woke warrior

Nick: straight, tries his best to be an ally. he's not that good at it at first, but Carmina is definitely a little bisexual so he tries very hard for her. I think the power of both Kim and Carmina being forces of nature for the Woke Mind Virus definitely helps him pull through. he wears those 'dad hug' shirts at pride, and not in a weird way. he buys a lot of corny pride merch, and is also scared of saying gay. he always says shit like 'oh........she bats for the other team......if you know what i mean.'

Jess: bisexual with a fem preference easy. i also don't really see her as monogamous. she needs three weed smoking girlfriends. pride parades aren't for her.

Grace: grace is similar to Jacob, where i don't think she likes people enough to really give a shit. i think she's demi, there's literally no way in my mind she is into anyone before she really knows them. she's both paranoid and awkard, and that makes it hard to form bonds. she watches the pride parade from a distance.

Adelaide: she's straight unfortunately. i think she's experimented with women but she's very blatant about her love for stupid male walls of meat. in a perfect world she'd loveeeee butches but unfortunately the collapse is happening and we don't have time for that.

Sharky: GAAAAAAAAAAY.

Hurk: mostly straight, but he's an ally. it's hard with Hurk Sr, but he tries. I think he still calls people homos, but he has a good heart. he's my pretty princess. he could make a great bear if he really wanted to

not to far cry 4 post in this day and age but noore and faith would maybe be friends-- at least to the capacity they can each really have a friend. which i dont think is very much.

theyre very similar characters to me, both have been manipulated and abused by powerful men, both are forced to do their bidding. theyre both also seen as strong to outsiders/lower ranking members of their followers, but as weak to their inner circles. de pleur is to noore as jacob is to faith.

again, calling them friends is a stretch because i don't think they'd actually get along, but i do think some sort of mutual understanding could be reached, at least on noore's behalf. noore can understand that her and faith are in similar positions while faith is far too focused on staying in joseph's good book to see their similarities. i am going no where on this i just like both of them and want to shove them together like barbies

Some of y'all saw the mascara drips on Joey's face and decided to make that her whole personality and it shows.

She's not even wearing makeup in the opening cutscene - not enough to run rivers, that's for sure. It was likely just a creative decision by the devs to make her look helpless so the player would want to save her.

And y'all took that and ran with it. Totally forgetting that she was fighting the entire time. That she broke out of her "room" on her own, killed at least three peggies, and had the idea to free the other hostages. She was going to free them with or without the player's help. "Help me, or stay out of my way."

She wasn't broken by torture or drugs like Staci and Burke. Even though she thought for sure that she was going to die, she never stopped fighting.

John had to use his number of followers, an underground bunker, and physical restraints to have any hope of hurting her, and he still failed to get her to join the cult.

You're being reductive to her and for what? So you can explore how sadistic and creepy John is?

You can do character studies of John while still giving her a modicum of respect.

If you're going to explore what he did to her, why not take Joey's personality and fighting nature into account? She fought against him tooth and nail. It wasn't easy for her. She suffered a lot - we've all heard and seen it - but she's not some spineless crybaby.

She doesn't need to be turned into one just to show how severely fucked up and evil John's actions were.

faith and joseph's relationship is so interesting to me in that... i've seen a lot of people consider it to have a sexual undertone (literally renaming rachel after his dead wife, joseph's eulogy, the grooming subtext etc), which while can be a completely viable reading, i never really felt was the case. but i find it fascinating to dissect the roles joseph (and indirectly eden's gate) pushes on faith. she's joseph's sister, and his dead wife and his girlchild all in one person. she is meant to be seductive and untouched at the same time, virgin-whore galore. childlike innocence but maternal nurturing. she just really encompasses a lot of impossible expectations christianity pushes on women i feel like, even if it's not especially expanded upon. she even wears a wedding dress!!! the very idea of her is so unmaintainable she is routinely replaced by other impressionable young women and the whole cult's just like alright i GUESS WHY NOT!!!!!
