Hey, sorry to ask and bother you, but when will the next translations come out from chapter 11-20 from Part 3 of the Idolish7 game? I really love your translations
Hello! I started my current job around when I stopped translating and things are currently crazy right now + probably will be for the next good while.
I still love the series a lot and although I don’t have the time or energy to devote to translating the main story right now, I do hope to finish it as more of a personal project eventually.
It makes me happy to hear that you love my translations, and I will do my best to get back on it once things calm down in my life!

Translation below the cut!
Tsukumo Ryou: Soon, it shall be complete. Midou Torao: What are you talking about? Tsukumo Ryou: Oh, fear not-- I’m referring to TRIGGER, not ŹOOĻ. Tsukumo Ryou: TRIGGER pulled out of SoundShip at the last minute. The first time is fine-- unexpected circumstances happen all the time. However, once happens a second time, they'll be seen as incompetent and impertinent. Tsukumo Ryou: There’s a shining chance for TRIGGER to repair their image-- neither Re:vale nor IDOLiSH7 will be appearing at the Tokyo International Festival of Music and Arts, a high-brow and formal affair. (1) Tsukumo Ryou: TRIGGER lose their place at that event-- I’ll make sure of it. Natsume Minami: And how will you accomplish this? I'm certain they are also aware that this is a chance for them to recover from their current predicament. Tsukumo Ryou: You see, before I became the president of an entertainment agency, I used to dabble in trading alongside some rather dangerous fellows. I can use those connections.... Tsukumo Ryou: ...To abduct TRIGGER. Inumaru Touma: ...Hey. I ain't getting involved in anything criminal. Tsukumo Ryou: Ahaha! Oh, we won't be involved at all. TRIGGER are very famous stars-- it'll be the work of a couple stalkers, so to speak. Isumi Haruka: Hmph. Isumi Haruka: ...I don't care. If that's what it'll take to see that brat and his father in tears, then go ahead. Isumi Haruka: I want him to reject everything he's ever worked for and despair. Tsukumo Ryou: Alrighty then! Who wants to call TRIGGER? Midou Torao: Do you have all of their numbers? I only have Ryuunosuke's. Tsukumo Ryou: About that. My friend Momo is a simple person, you see. He set his birthday as the passcode to his phone-- 1111. And so, I extracted all of their numbers. Inumaru Touma: Oh shit, I should change my passcode.... Natsume Minami: You better. We live in an era where entertainment agency presidents casually glean personal information from their friends' phones, after all. Midou Torao: It’s better to change them periodically. Girls love to sneak glances at my phone screen. Isumi Haruka: Won't you forget your code if you change it? ...Well, I guess this should work. Inumaru Touma: What'd you change yours to? Isumi Haruka: My year in high school, followed by my class number and seat number. Inumaru Touma: Ah. Sure is nice to be a student. Midou Torao: Seriously, though. Using your birthday as your passcode when you're a celebrity? When literally everybody knows what's written on your profile? That's stupid. Natsume Minami: You know, Inumaru-san was also using his birthday to unlock his phone until very recently. Inumaru Touma: I'ma make my password super complicated!! Tsukumo Ryou: Now, now, children. Stop playing with your phones, and listen to me. Midou Torao: Hey, Ryou-san. Got RabbitChat? I’ve got some funny stamps I could send you. Tsukumo Ryou: Oh? What are they like? Natsume Minami: We should all add each other. Do you know how to do it, Isumi-san? Isumi Haruka: ...I don't. Do it for me. Natsume Minami: So you shake your phone like this.... Here, everyone should try it. Inumaru Touma: Wait! I'm still changing my passcode so I'm not there yet!!
*phone rings* Kujou Ten: ...Who is it? It's from an unknown number.... Isumi Haruka: It's me. Do you want everyone to stop attacking TRIGGER? I can make it happen. Kujou Ten: ....... Isumi Haruka: I'll give you the conditions. If you agree, then I’ll consider it. Can you meet me outside right now? Alone, of course. Kujou Ten: .....Alright. I'll get ready.
*phone rings* Yaotome Gaku: ...Hello? Who the hell are you? Inumaru Touma: Woah, it's Yaotome Gaku's voice.... I can't wimp out right now.... Yaotome Gaku: ......? Inumaru Touma: You wanna save your dad and TRIGGER, right? Yaotome Gaku: You.... Inumaru Touma: If that's the case, then come outside right now. Alone. If you agree to the conditions, I might consider it. Inumaru Touma: And you better keep this a secret. Got it? Yaotome Gaku: I won't tell a soul. ...Where should I meet you?
*phone rings* Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Hello? Torao-kun, is that you? Midou Torao: Hey. It's been a while, yeah? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I've reached out to you several times about Hanamaki-san.... Also, I didn't know you were going to debut-- Midou Torao: Shh. All of this is part of a deal, and a secret one at that. You're my friend, after all. Midou Torao: There's a way to stop everyone from attacking TRIGGER. It might be a little risky, but do you wanna know what it is? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Of course I do. Midou Torao: I knew you'd say that. I need you to meet me right now, and make sure no one knows where you're going. The place is....
Takanashi Tsumugi: I'm glad everyone was able to take today off! Izumi Mitsuki: We gotta cheer TRIGGER on! I even made a fan for them! Are we allowed to have these at the Music and Arts fes? (1) Osaka Sougo: I've brought a light stick for everyone too! Nikaidou Yamato: Woah, look at that! There's a car all decked out, with TRIGGER's logo painted on it! It's.... (2) *car rumbles* Nikaidou Yamato: ...Stopping right in front of us. Okazaki Rinto: Hello! I see like everyone's matching! Yotsuba Tamaki: What’s this car, Okarin? Okazaki Rinto: It's the Revale Stylish Wagon. The manufacturers were kind enough to gift it to us. Nanase Riku: And you made it into a TRIGGER car!? Yuki: We did. Momo: 'Cuz we're celebrities! (3) Rokuya Nagi: Oh, amazing! How wonderful! This makes want to get a Kokona car! Osaka Sougo: I'm so ashamed.... I can't believe I was satisfied with mere light sticks.... Izumi Mitsuki: I feel ya.... I was so hyped up about my fan.... Izumi Iori: I'm certain the car manufacturers would be very surprised to hear that a model they expressly named after Re:vale was repurposed into a TRIGGER car instead. Momo: Let's all cheer for TRIGGER today! They haven't replied to me yet, but if they're free afterwards, we should grab food together! Nanase Riku: I'd love to go! I invited them out this morning as well, but they haven't read my messages yet. Osaka Sougo: I bet they're putting their all into rehearsals! *phone rings* Momo: Oh, Kaoru-chan's calling me! ....... ...What? Momo: Hey, does anyone know where TRIGGER are right now? Izumi Mitsuki: Where? ...You mean they aren't in the arena yet? Momo: Apparently she hasn't been able to contact them all day and has been trying since this morning.... Nanase Riku: What!?
Takanashi Tsumugi: Anesagi-san, is everything alright? I heard you haven't been able to contact any of the members.... Anesagi Kaoru: None of my calls are going through, and no one I've contacted has found them. Everyone at the agency is looking for them right now, but.... Okazaki Rinto: It's strange that all three of them disappeared. Have you contacted the police yet? Anesagi Kaoru: Mhmm. And they gave me lovely advice. Apparently they won't budge until 12 hours have passed since the last recorded contact. Anesagi Kaoru: It must be that Tsukumo man! He's trying to get in our way and wants to stop TRIGGER from performing on stage! If anything has happened to those boys, I.... Nanase Riku: I'll go look for them at Tsukumo Productions! Izumi Iori: Please wait! If you fixate on that tidbit and just march into their agency, it'll only cause more problems! Nikaidou Yamato: They ain’t stupid either. There's no way they'd do that-- it’s way too obvious. Nanase Riku: But! Momo: I understand your concerns, but we gotta leave this to Yaotome Productions. I don't wanna be in the way, so I think we should give them some space. Momo: Okarin, Maneko-chan-- You guys should stay with Kaoru-chan. Takanashi Tsumugi: I agree. Anesagi-san.... Okazaki Rinto: I'm sure everything will be alright....
Izumi Iori: If they can't perform tonight, then it'll dredge up the SoundShip incident from last year and only further the bashing.... Nanase Riku: This is bullying!! Everyone just keeps hating on TRIGGER, and only them! …...What if Ten-nii got kidnapped!? Osaka Sougo: The event will be over by the time the police start moving.... Even reporting the incident is a bit of a sticky situation in and of itself.... Momo: Don't worry guys, I'll talk to President Tsukumo. I'm gonna make sure he pays me back for everything he owes me, and then some! Yuki: I'll come with you. Momo: You can't! Yuki: Why not? Momo: You know how I run really fast? And you're really slow? Well, if he starts running away and I run after him at full power, you'll be left in the dust. Yuki: I guess you're right. Momo: And because I love you so much, Yuki, I'll have to stop chasing after him and run back to you.... Yuki: Momo... Izumi Mitsuki: I don't really wanna say this to you guys since you're our senpai, but.... Now is not the time for that!! Momo: Anyhow! Yuki, you stay put and keep watch! All of you are good kids, so you better hold the fort down! Got it? Nikaidou Yamato: Let us come with you. We can leave the minors behind.... Momo: You can't! That man is utter poison! I don't want him to pollute my darling IDOLiSH7!! Osaka Sougo: Since when did we become yours, Momo-san..... Nanase Riku: Is President Tsukumo really that scary? What if something terrible has happened to TRIGGER!? Momo: He's not the type to engage in violence. Not directly, that’s for sure. He's a very smart man, but his personality is godawful. Rokuya Nagi: And why in the world are you close to a man like that? Momo: He helped me out when I was stuck in a rut, so I thought he was a good person. Back when we were poor, he gave us really tasty organic vegetables, among some other things.... Izumi Iori: So not only did something similar happen with Chiba-san, it happened with him as well? Re:vale gets baited with food much too easily and way too often…. Izumi Mitsuki: In times like this, we should all charge in! It won't be so dangerous since it'll be all of us! Izumi Iori: We can't do that, Nii-san...! Izumi Mitsuki: Hey. If it comes down to it, can any of you fight? Izumi Iori: Like I said, we can't do that!! Nanase Riku: I can fight! Izumi Mitsuki: No, you can't, Riku. Ossan, you’re up. Nanase Riku: Yes, I can! Nikaidou Yamato: Hold up! This onii-san here can't fight!! Izumi Iori: The mere idea of idols engaging in fist fights is outrageous! Nii-san, this is too dangerous-- Izumi Mitsuki: I said, if it comes down to it! We won't initiate. What about you, Tamaki? Can you fight? Yotsuba Tamaki: So. You know how I'm really tall? Usually if I glare at ‘em like this-- the other dude looks away super fast. Like whoosh. Yeah. Yotsuba Tamaki: But some dudes don't look away, and they're really good at fighting. Whenever that happens, I just go whoosh.... And look away. Izumi Mitsuki: So are ya good or not!? Nikaidou Yamato: I'd say we cast him as an extra. Osaka Sougo: Tamaki-kun is a minor, so if you must insist, I will go. Nikaidou Yamato: Oh yeah, didn't you do kendo? What was your best move? Osaka Sougo: Stabbing my opponent in the throat. (4) Nikaidou Yamato: Mm, executing that move on someone who doesn’t have any protective gear isn’t exactly ideal, but.... Sou, I'm casting you as our ace-- you’re our secret weapon. (5) Osaka Sougo: Understood. Izumi Mitsuki: Nagi? Rokuya Nagi: Fighting? No problem. However, I forgot my Magical Stick, so I won't be able to unleash my true power. Yotsuba Tamaki: I remember you protected that one tower from a terrorist attack though, Nagicchi! Way back when we went to that TRIGGER concert. Izumi Mitsuki: I’ve said this before, but that joke isn't funny so stop saying it! Yotsuba Tamaki: But it's true!! Nikaidou Yamato: What about you, Yuki-san? Can you fight? Yuki: I may look like this, but I'm actually a black belt. Nikaidou Yamato: ...You're kidding, right? Yuki: Yep. Nikaidou Yamato: ...I'll cast Yuki-san, our local indoors person, as Riku's childhood friend. Together, they'll cheer us on from this bench! Nanase Riku・Yuki: Hip hip, hooray! Izumi Iori: You cannot do this! I will not allow it! Momo: Yeah! If anything happens to you kids, I'll never be able to face Ban-san ever again!! Momo: Oh, man.... I don't think I could live if Ban-san hated me.... Izumi Mitsuki: It'll be okay! We're just gonna look for TRIGGER the normal way! Izumi Mitsuki: But in the off chance that we bump into trouble and there's no way around it, there are a couple ground rules I'd like us all to follow since we're idols! Momo: Rules? Izumi Mitsuki: Rule number one! Even if they try to pick a fight.... Yotsuba Tamaki: No hitting until they’ve thrown the first punch! Izumi Mitsuki: Rule number two! If a civilian sees you.... Nikaidou Yamato: We're filming. Izumi Mitsuki: Rule number three! What do you do with your face? Rokuya Nagi: Protect it with your life. Izumi Mitsuki: We should be okay if we follow those rules! We don't want TRIGGER to have any more trouble, right guys? Izumi Mitsuki: Also, the media might cook something weird up again if someone from Yaotome Productions goes. So, let's give it a shot! Izumi Iori: sigh ...... No roughhousing, okay? Izumi Mitsuki: Gotcha! Don't you worry, Iori! Izumi Iori: ....... I'm filled with nothing but worry.... Momo: Oh God, I hope we don't bump into any trouble.... Ban-san will murder me.... Nanase Riku: Wait for me, Ten-nii. I'll definitely save you!
To be continued....
TL Notes/comments:
Thank you Bicky (@denego_ on twitter) for betaing!!!
(1) uchiwa are these little round paper fans that people bring to concerts that have messages on them (for the artist) or a picture of said artist's face. (2) ita-sha is like the car equivalent of an ita-bag... think of those cars u see at cons with a massive hatsune miku painted all ovr it ALSO, Revale Stylish Wagon is stylized like that because the original is written as リヴァーレ, which is the romanization of Re:vale’s name in katakana and I am an uncreative fuck so I had no clue what to eigo it (3) i switched the orders of the lines bc english/jpn syntactical flow (4) IM NO KENDO MASTER BUT THE "TSUKI" IS A THRUST AT THE THROAT, SEE ATTACHED VIDEO FOR A DEMONSTRATION-- SOUCHAN IS NOT HERE TO FUCK AROUND  (5) these moves are !!! not to be done on people without the proper protective equipment. In kendo you have a mask, and a lot of other things protecting you from bodily injury, and uh, death, amongst other things hence why that move is okay in the context of kendo and why yamato says this
As usual, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!
Thank you for reading!!

Translation below the cut!
Nanase Riku: ......All of this must be really hard on Ten-nii. He loves TRIGGER so much, and really treasures them after all. Nanase Riku: He was acting like everything was normal, but I bet it's taking a toll on him more than anyone else.... Izumi Mitsuki: Some people know what's going on. There's a couple of people commenting on how something's off about this whole ordeal online. Izumi Mitsuki: But why... Why are all these TV stations dragging TRIGGER when they're the ones who've seen them up close and in person? Rokuya Nagi: What an awful turn of events. Those who are truly interested in TRIGGER have been proactively reading up on them on their own. Rokuya Nagi: However, those who only know TRIGGER in passing will absorb whatever is given to them by the news. They'll end up with a biased understanding of TRIGGER. Izumi Iori: Companies cast for their shows based off of the public's perception of a group. Izumi Iori: At this rate, if TRIGGER's brand continues to be perceived negatively, it will also affect their state of being in this industry. Izumi Iori: Has President Yaotome taken that into consideration?
Yaotome Sousuke: ...Dammit! Every single goddamn one! They used to beg for TRIGGER to be on their shows! Yaotome Sousuke: ...Mister Shimooka's music show is right around the corner, and I know he sees TRIGGER in a positive light. If we can turn the tides with this.... Yaotome Sousuke: I'm counting on you, Gaku.... TRIGGER....
Mister Shimooka: And now for our next guest, TRIGGER! Kujou Ten: Thank you for having us. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: We look forward to performing here today. Mister Shimooka: So, I heard you guys are unveiling your new single next week at the Tokyo International Festival of Music and Arts in Zero Arena. That's amazing! Yaotome Gaku: Thank you. A wide variety of musical genres will be presented at the festival, so we'd really like to focus our energies and get even better for this event. Mister Shimooka: What a manly answer! That's Yaotome-kun, for ya! I bet you're a real hit with the ladies. Must've gotten it from your father, huh? Yaotome Gaku: I-- ....... Nanase Riku: A nervous energy pulsed through the studio. Nanase Riku: Both Ten-nii and Tsunashi-san were frozen in place. Nanase Riku: Mister Shimooka-san had been so kind and welcoming to us all, but his insinuating words brought the scandal to the forefront. Nanase Riku: After all, Mister Shimooka-san was part of Tsukumo Productions.
Yaotome Sousuke: ....... This is outrageous.... Yaotome Sousuke: Everyone has cut Yaotome Productions and TRIGGER off, and now he has too.... Does this mean they've all sided with Tsukumo? Yaotome Sousuke: Cowards! The times have changed! Why can't they understand that!? The age of Tsukumo and Hoshikage was over long ago! Yaotome Sousuke: ....... It was supposed to be over....
Yaotome Gaku: I, uh.... Izumi Mitsuki: I dunno about Yaotome, but I take after my grandma! Izumi Mitsuki: We look so similar, that whenever I look at old photos I'm like, "Woah! That's me!" I hate to say this myself, but she was gorgeous!
Man: Damn, it was just getting good.... That dude is trying way too hard to stand out. Woman: Hmm? Man: That Izumi Mitsuki guy from IDOLiSH7 butted in right when Mister Shimooka was asking Yaotome a good question. Woman: Oh, yeah. Izumi Mitsuki just loves to talk.
TRIGGER Fan: Oh.... He deflected the question for him.... TRIGGER Fan: It's okay now, Gaku-san.... Thank you so much, Mitsuki-kun....
Mister Shimooka: ...Ahaha! Really, now! I know you're an adult, but you're so cute, Mitsuki-kun! What do ya think, Yaotome-kun? Yaotome Gaku: He's super cute. But he's kind of dad inside, y'know? Izumi Mitsuki: Hey, what do you mean by that! I've bet you've got some dad in ya too! Kujou Ten: I definitely see it. Yaotome Gaku: Haha, shut up! Mister Shimooka: Hahaha! Both of you are grown men, so I guess that's to be expected! I'm already an old man, so that explains why we get along! Nanase Riku: The atmosphere of the studio changed after Mitsuki interrupted the conversation. Nanase Riku: Mister Shimooka-san boomed with laughter, more so than usual. Perhaps in relief, perhaps in apology. Nanase Riku: The whole time, Yaotome-san's fist was clenched tightly where it rested upon his leg. Mister Shimooka: Get ready, TRIGGER! Kujou Ten: Yes, sir. Nanase Riku: Everyone's eyes followed their backs as the three of them made their way to the stage. Nanase Riku: Even under the cold gaze of the audience, Ten-nii, Yaotome-san, and Tsunashi-san turned to face them. Nanase Riku: The stage lights were so bright, I couldn't see what their expressions were. Nanase Riku: But the voices that rang through the venue belonged to TRIGGER-- as proud and powerful as we remembered. Nanase Riku: They were trying to pierce through and reach the future.
Mister Shimooka: And that was TRIGGER's "Last Dimension!" Now, up next we have.... Momo: Shimooka-chan.... Yuki: ...Shimooka-san has a family and many trainees under his care. TRIGGER understands that too.... Momo: Back when it was Yamato, they were up against Hoshikage.... That, and it was hard for anyone to bash them since they'd be going against a world-famous actor. Momo: But this time, it's Tsukumo Productions versus Yaotome Productions, which is below Tsukumo in power. Momo: On top of that, there was that whole ordeal where Yaotome Productions "stole" a famous singer from Tsukumo, despite owing a lot to them. Momo: Putting aside what's true or not, it's easy to fall victim to Ryou's psychological ploys. You can't help but think, "There's nothing else I can do." Yuki: I know there's people out there who are strongly against his ways. There has to be. Momo: They're definitely there. I'm in contact with all of them, and-- Re:vale's TV Show Producer: Great work today, guys.... Momo: Thank you! ...What's wrong? Re:vale's TV Show Producer: I might be jumping the gun a bit, but…. I just wanted to make my rounds and say goodbye to everyone. They’re transferring me to Kyushu, so I won’t be on the show's production staff anymore. Re:vale's TV Show Producer: I really loved working on this show, and I wish I could've stayed on for just a bit longer.... Once things calm down, you should call me over for baseball again sometime, Momo-chan. Momo: ....... Yuki: I'll talk to them about it. It's not right without you on the team. Re:vale's TV Show Producer: Those words are more than enough for me. Please do your best and give everyone a great time from here on out as well. Momo: Why is this happening.... I told you to trash talk me to those people, didn’t I…? Re:vale's TV Show Producer: Ahaha, there's no way I could do that. I could never talk badly about you, Momo-chan. Re:vale's TV Show Producer: TRIGGER hasn't done anything wrong either. No other talents in this industry take their jobs as seriously as those three. They passionately, earnestly, and truly love their fans and their work. Re:vale's TV Show Producer: They did their best to make things as easy as possible for the staff the one time they guested on our show. It was a really, really great episode. Remember that? Momo: ....... *sniff* .... Re:vale's TV Show Producer: I want to make good shows. And I won't lie, even if it’ll further my cause. I…. I couldn't lie. I knew what would happen, so don't cry. Momo: ...I'll bring you back to Tokyo. I swear. Until then, I'll keep on standing here-- even if I have to eat dirt. I promise.... Yuki: If you ever run into trouble, don't hesitate to reach out to us. Re:vale will always have your back. Re:vale's TV Show Producer: Yeah.... Thank you. I'm really proud I was able to work with you two, Re:vale. ...Fight on, Momo-chan, Yuki-kun. door closes Yuki: Momo.... Are you okay? Momo: Yuki.... Yuki: Yeah.... Momo: ....... I'm this close to snapping. Yuki: You took the words right out of my mouth.
TL notes/comments:
Thank you @kuriiii and Bicky (@denego_ on twitter) for betaing!!!!! There’s a lot you don’t catch even after 2-5 rereads, some of which u do muttering under ur breath at 1AM so honestly bless their souls!!!
(1) Ryou uses 硬派 to describe the tokyo m&a festival; I've mostly seen this word used in terms of like political parties, where you have hard-liners (frm the definition of the word), or very ppl very staunch in their belief of ___. In terms of music shows, I'd extrapolate this to mean an event that's very formal and rooted in tradition/rules, which would be kind of like the Grammy's wrt an american equivalent, since awards aren't thrown around willy nilly and it's a Big Deal to get invited there, etcetc. Like there's a whole formal process involved. That kind of 'hardcore'!
IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK!! Thank you again for all of your patience and putting up with months of radio silence on my end. I put up a poll on twitter, and the plan is to prioritize Part 4, but crank out as much of Part 3 in the downtime between parts! WISH ME LUCK FJSJDF

Producer Letter #16
Hello! Long time no post, but I’m back with the last producer letter of the year. Hit the jump to read more of the usual 80-20 tl-paraphrase mix!
To everyone supporting Idolish Seven,
This year has been a very big one for the Idolish Seven Project. As we look back on 2018, we really would not have made it without all of your support and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that.
Just this year, we've put out a wide variety of content, not including the app itself. We released novels, comics, the anime adaption, and held a live concert this year. IDOLiSH7 was also recruited to promote JR Tokai Tours as part of their "OFF Journey @ Aichi" campaign, as well as a collaboration with Sony for their hi-res audio CM and also for the release our 3rd anniversary Walkmans. We also released the "12 SONGS GIFT" for each idol's birthday, and also the "Hoshimeguri no Kansokusha" (tl: The Wandering Stargazers) event in partnership with AGF and Ichiban Kuji. We're sure everyone has gotten a chance to experience these releases, and we hope you liked them!
We also took our first steps overseas by expanding the app game, anime, and live viewings to a global audience, and felt all of the support from our international managers as well.
We'd be delighted beyond words if everyone enjoyed this year as much as we did!
This has been a year chock full of new starting lines for Idolish Seven, and we hope that we'll be able to draw many more new ones in 2019 and walk forward with everyone. Since we have already announced most things, we'll be mostly discussing our future directions in this letter.
【About the Project as a Whole】
◆ About Part 4
Part 4 will continue off of Part 3, and will be a story that stays true to the project thus far (t/n: lit. "befitting of Idolish Seven"). We do apologize for the long wait, but our team is working at full power to release Part 3 in 2019 so please hold on for just a bit longer!
◆ About a Special Story
We released a special story in 2016 and 2017 at the end of the year, and this year we'll be releasing right at the start of 2019 at midnight of January 1st! Please look forward to it!
◆ About the Music
We just released news about our plans for each idol's birthday in 2019, and we hope everyone looks forward to it! Here is a summary:
RADIO STATION "Twelve Hits!" Project Each idol will act as the radio personality for an original drama track, "RADIO STATION "Twelve Hits!" and sing their solo version of the radio's theme song, "Wonderful Octave".  The CDs will be released on the character’s birthday and follows the following format:
RADIO STATION "Twelve Hits!" -Character ver.-
12 SONGS GIFT birthday solo
12 SONGS GIFT birthday solo (Off Vocal)
Wonderful Octave -Character ver.-

【Other Updates & Additions to the Game】
◆ About the Servers
We'd apologize again for any inconveniences caused by the whole day of maintenance on August 2nd.
Due to this incident, we are re-evaluating our servers and striving to strengthen our systems. As a result, this led to several long maintenances in a short period of time. Again, we are very sorry for any inconveniences these may have caused.
◆ New Features to be Implemented
As previously announced, we realize that training members and organizing them has become quite complex and cumbersome so we're looking into optimizing the system.
We are also looking into making the story a little bit easier to read/access.
We also hope to implement a system that will let players enjoy playing the lives outside of non-regularly scheduled events.
◆ Questions, Comments, or Concerns about the Game
In the case that you would like to express your opinion to the staff, please contact us through the official site.
Thank you for reading all the way to the very end!
Although we feel quite a bit of pressure since we're finally releasing Part 4, we sincerely believe that we can take a step forward with everyone into a brand-new year.
We thank you for your continued support, and let's i7 our way through 2019 too!
TL Notes/comments:
“wow that was LONG, idk if they could possibly make these longer” - famous last words by twitter user @shiroihime
Thank you all again for your patience! I’ve been a horizontal human being for all of my vacation thus far but hopefully I’ll find a little time (and learn how to balance/schedule things a little better around work/hobbies/relaxation) in 2019 to fucking beat twitter user iD7Mng_Ogami to the punch wrt Part 4
ok that sentence didn’t make sense my loose overarching goal is to finish Part 3 (TOUGH LUCK) before Part 4 but that’s banking on the prayer that (1) staff will take their sweetass time crafting the dickpunch to end us all as usual because the moral of the story is that they are all Izumi Iori with a little sprinkling of Tamaki (bc those typos, man and chaotic chaos timing) aka give me enough time to (2) magically establish a good pace/release schedule and de-rust while somehow Not Die from work+destress-from-work time
ANYWAYS tl;dr expect more part 3!!! but not fast!!! when have I ever been fast!!!!!!!! (like once maybe)  hopefully before part4 tho!!!
without further ado, I hope you all enjoy the big sleigh full of news i7 just dropped on us, and it really has been a humongous year for the project.... honestly what a whirlwind of a year!!!
Thank you again for sticking with me and my equally long yelling in the t/n section, and here’s to an even better 2019 for us all!

TRIGGER: Special Commemorative Interview (Palmate Extra: TRIGGER Set Bonus)
Thank you TENNINl for providing pics of the bonus sheet that comes when you order all three TRIGGER figures! I had a bit of down time during work (shh) to crank out a quick translation of the cute interview, as requested.
Hit the jump to read more!
To celebrate the release of the TRIGGER Palmates, we sat Kujou Tenn-san, Yaotome Gaku-san, and Tsunashi Ryuunosuke-san down for an interview.
Before we get started, congratulations on getting figures!
TENN: Thank you. RYUUNOSUKE: I was really surprised when I found out! GAKU: I don’t really know much about this kind of stuff, so I had no clue what was going on when I first heard about it. (laughs) T: It’s nice that they’re turning us into something that could make our fans feel like we’re right by their side.
Any comments on the photoshoot for the figures?
R: Shooting reference photos for the figures was definitely a new experience! G: I thought a lot about what types of poses to do and what kinds of expressions I should make, with the end product in mind. R:  He definitely did. All of your poses were really spot-on, Gaku! G: Damn, it’s kinda embarrassing when you say it so directly. T: It’s a little surreal hearing that from the man who corrected Ryuu and told him to spread the vents of his jacket more “so it’ll look cool as hell.” (1) G: Hey, you don’t have to tell them that! R: (laughs) You don’t hear those kinds of directions very often in photoshoots. You know, he also told Tenn, “I think it’ll look more sensual if you angle your hands like this instead.” T: ...Long story short, these figures were made possible through our collaborative efforts.
How have the people around you reacted to the figures?
G: When we went out for drinks with some members of IDOLiSH7, Nikaidou and the older Izumi imitated my pose for pictures. (laughs) That, and Osaka talked quite a bit about Ryuu’s figure and highlighted all of the good points. R: I was a little embarrassed by that! Sougo-kun, Tamaki-kun told me that you pre-ordered the figure! Nagi-kun knows quite a lot about figures, so I think he’s the one who told Sougo-kun that “pre-ordering is key.” T: The fans who pre-ordered have been patiently waiting for our figures to come out as well…. We’re happy that we can finally present them to you!
Last but not least, what would you like to tell your fans?
T: During the times when we can’t meet and you feel lonely, I hope these figures will make you feel like we’re right besides you. That would make me really happy! R: I agree! That’d be really nice. We’ll always be by your side—that’s what I want the fans to know. G: Exactly. Even in figure form, TRIGGER’s the best. Got it?
Thank you very much!
TL Notes/comments:
(1) I WAS deeply confused for several seconds because 裾(すそ)usually refers to the hem of the clothing, and the fact that Gaku was referring to the action of spreading/widening something immediately thought of uhhhh mister tsunashi showing off his polished pecs since that is indeed a widening action BUT NEVERTHELESS i google image’d the exact phrase ジャケットの裾 and TURNS OUT that includes the back flappy bits of a suit. YEAH, SO --> while vents is technically terminology for idk like tailored suits, i have no clue what else to call them but mystery solved!!!!!!!! thats literally it
WHAT A CUTE INTERVIEW!!! I don’t normally take requests, but since this was so short and sweet it was a breeze and I needed something to help me get back into the rhythm.
LIFE IS STILL CRAZY but hopefully I’ll find a good work-life rhythm and get some much-needed time to myself to crank out a couple bits of part 3! Thank you all again for all of your patience, and hopefully I’ll be posting soon again!
As always, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!

Producer Letter #15
Happy 3rd Anniversary, Idolish Seven! Hit the jump to read the usual paraphrase-tl mix for the newest producer letter.
To everyone supporting Idolish Seven,
It's been 3 years since the game started, and about 4 if we include the time it took to plan out the project. The Idolish Seven Project has continued to progress forward, in step with you.
This year, we were able to show the idols going about their activities on TV and put on a concert on a grand stage for everyone, making some of the dreams we had at the conception of this series come true-- now we stand before a brand-new start line.
From here on out, we face a future that we couldn't have even begun to imagine, and we'll be walking alongside everyone as we step forth. That very joy is imbued into 『LIGHT FUTURE』.
As everyone may know, we are firm believers in surprises-- the element of surprise is one of our fundamental principles. Just as we've regularly shared happy surprises with our fans, we will continue to do so as we continue along.
We’ve treasured the principles our team has put forth, so that this wonderful franchise can continue for another 5 or 10 years or more. We will be united in our efforts to make everyone enjoy the contents, and work harder than ever to make it happen.
This letter ended up a little long, but I'll be going over some of the announcements released on the 3rd anniversary and more!
【About the Project as a Whole】
◆ About the Story
It's been a while since Part 3 has come to a close, but we are happy to report that we are making headway on Part 4.
To preface Part 3, we released “A Quarter of Contention” since we wanted everyone to learn more about how each of the four ŹOOĻ members came to be.  (T/N: name subject to change when i get to it because I’m doing this on the fly, but kikkou 拮抗 means when two or more evenly matched powers face each other off)
Part 3 marked a major turning point in the story. Including "A Quarter of Contention," Part 4 will further scale up the story and music, and we'll do our best to deliver it to you. Although we cannot reveal the teme of Part 4 at this time, we firmly believe it will be a story that will give you strength to step forward towards the future.
We apologize for the long wait, but we hope you all look forward to Idolish Seven, Part 4-- coming this winter!
Once again, we'd like to remind everyone that the first half of the 3rd anniversary story has been released on the 20th. We hope you enjoy it!
◆ About "Wanderers of the Stars"
(lit. star/planet-wandering observers) (fun fact: ‘planet’ comes from the Greek word ‘planetes’ which means wanderer)
Just as we did for "MECHANICAL LULLABY" last year, we will be revealing a little bit more about the new project that Re:vale, TRIGGER, and IDOLiSH7 will be featuring in!
Re:vale will be singing the main theme, and not only will the story be released in-game, the sub-stories will also be published in a pamphlet available through Ichiban Kuji. We hope you enjoy all of the different aspects of this new venture that we've prepared, so please look forward to it!
◆ About the Anime
We'd like to thank everyone for supporting all 17 episodes of the anime! Although we had quite the unorthodox airing schedule, we are truly thankful that so many of you supported and watched it to the very end. You've given us confidence for Season 2!
We were also happy that TRIGGER – before The Radiant Glory –, the story about TRIGGER's debut, synced up so nicely with the main anime and had wonderful results!
The last volume of the anime, available on Blu-ray and DVD, will be released on August 28th and will wrap up Season 1!
We hope to keep moving forward with the anime series as a whole, and thank you for all of the support.
We've already begun very thorough production meetings for Season 2, and they are moving forward! We are certain we'll deliver a very solid and wonderful product, so look forward to future announcements!
◆ About the 1st LIVE 『Road To Infinity』
We send our prayers and condolences to all that were affected by the heavy rains and flooding in western Japan, and pray that recovery and reconstruction will be be speedy.
※ Please check this link for more information on the delayed viewings. Ticket pre-sales have already ended, but general sales are currently underway.
Idolish Seven's 1st live, "Road To Infinity" was not only a dream come true, but also a brand-new start line for us.
It's been two years since we first envisioned it, but that joyful experience was made possible because of all of your support. We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We'd also like to thank all of the staff members at the site for helping and allowing us to use the venue.
A digest of the first live will air in October on BS Sukapaa!'s MUSIC ON! TV-- be sure to tune in!
◆ About the Music
We hope you're all enjoying the 12 SONGS GIFT project! The project began in January, and there are three songs remaining. We hope you listen to the songs, as they show a different side to all of the idols.
Additionally, Collection Album vol.1 will be released on September 26th! This CD will include 「Danshi Tarumono! ~MATSURI~」「LOVE&GAME」「Furefure! Seishun Sanka」, which have not been on any physical releases yet.
Re:vale's album will be released on December 5th. There will be two new songs, one of which will be the theme song for "Wanderers of the Stars" and one more wonderful song! We will be disclosing more in future updates.
We are working on songs for Part 4 at the moment as well, with great attention to detail, and hope to challenge something new this time. Please look forward to the new music, alongside the story!
◆ About the Music Video Animations
At the moment, there will be new music videos for each of the 4 groups that appear in Part 4, each for a new song. We'll be collaborating with 4 production companies for the MVs, and we hope you look forward to their release!
【About the Game】
We apologize for any inconveniences we caused on August 2nd during maintenance. As our game hits three years old, it was necessary for us to do maintenance on our servers. As we've previously announced, there will be more maintenance in coming days. We hope to create a game environment that is easier to play in, and we thank you for all of your cooperation.
In conjunction to upgrading our servers, we will also be updating the version of the game to further increase accesability and ease of play for the users.
Below, we'd like to summarize some of the changes we've made throughout these three years.
Menu Screen: There is a notification for when there is mail. Additionally, there is now an event banner.
Story: You can directly go to the Story Live required for any missing Bookmarks.
Members: Idols with boosts in the current event have an indicator. There are also small indicator for the appeal skills that can be toggled on and off. ※ We hope to make strengthening, awakening, or special training cards easier in coming versions
Rabbit Note: "Practice Jerseys" are used here. Lesson 2 is now available, and you can boost the stats of an individual idol through here.
As the number of items necessary for training your idols has increased over the past three years, we hope to improve the methods for obtaining them.
◆ Questions, Comments, or Concerns about the Game In the case that you would like to express your opinion to the staff, please contact us through the official site.
Thank you for celebrating and trending #アイナナ3周年 (ainana 3rd anniversary) on Twitter!
Just like what we wrote at the very beginning, we hope that we continue to depict "a dream you've yet to see" through our project every day.
Thank you for 3 years, and with the future in mind-- Let's i7!
boy they werent kidding when they said it was  l o n g

10.3 - Unbreakable Soul
Tumblr media
Idolish Seven - Part 3, Chapter 10.3 For more Part 3 translations, click here!
Translation below the cut!
Izumi Iori: ŹOOĻ, Tsukumo Productions' newly debuted idol group.... Izumi Iori: The timing is too perfect.... The idol boom died down after the TRIGGER incident, but they've brought it right back up. Izumi Iori: It's almost as if TRIGGER is getting swapped out for ŹOOĻ.... Nikaidou Yamato: ...Natsume Minami's making his idol debut, huh? He was pretty famous back when he was a child actor, so he's definitely gonna appeal to a large audience.... Izumi Mitsuki: What's he like? You filmed that movie with him, right? Nikaidou Yamato: Uh, how do I put it.... He's like... Slimy? And kinda pisses you off.... Yeah, he's that kinda guy. Izumi Mitsuki: Slimy...? Yotsuba Tamaki: Hey Sou-chan, don't you know that dude? What's Midou Torao like? Osaka Sougo: How should I put it.... He's the type of person who radiates confidence, almost blindingly so.... Yotsuba Tamaki: Blindingly.... Radiates...? Izumi Iori: Isumi-san recently transferred into the same class as Yotsuba-san and I. He informed us that he hates IDOLiSH7. Nanase Riku: Touma-san said the same thing.... Izumi Iori: Touma-san? As in, Inumaru Touma, former member of NO_MAD? Nanase Riku: Yeah, I've bumped into him a couple times. He's a good person! But.... Nanase Riku: He said that he wasn't going to sing seriously, ever again. Izumi Mitsuki: What the hell's with that! Ugh, that kinda pisses me off. I don't want someone like that calling themselves an idol! Osaka Sougo: Even so, I quite like their song. ŹOOĻ's "Poisonous Gangster," that is. Rokuya Nagi: I like it as well, since it's such a splendid song. Yet, why would he say that he won't sing seriously anymore? Nikaidou Yamato: Oh yeah, that reminds me.... Hey, Nagi. Apparently Natsume Minami was studying abroad in Northmare up until last year. Rokuya Nagi: Oh.... In Northmare? Not very many Japanese people choose to study abroad there. He's one of the rare few. Takanashi Tsumugi: Hello! There's something I need to tell everyone. I.... It's good news. Osaka Sougo: ...You're not acting the way you usually do when there's good news. What is it, exactly? Takanashi Tsumugi: "A Lovely Night with IDOLiSH7!" just surpassed TRIGGER's show in viewership. Izumi Mitsuki: Wait, seriously!? Well.... I really wish we could've won at a better time, though. Maybe if we won during a time when we could be happy without anything holding us back.... Izumi Mitsuki: You see, I don't feel the slightest bit happy knowing that we won while our rivals are down on one knee.... Takanashi Tsumugi: That's certainly true.... Osaka Sougo: ...Is there anything that we can do? Yotsuba Tamaki: Sou-chan.... Osaka Sougo: TRIGGER has always helped us. Osaka Sougo: We owe them so much, and being unable to do anything for them when they're in trouble is truly painful.... If all we can do is listen to people tear them down, and nothing more.... Osaka Sougo: If that's all we can do.... Takanashi Tsumugi: ...If we advocate for them too much then it might end up causing them trouble as well. Takanashi Tsumugi: We should continue to treat them as the rivals that we know and respect, just as always. I'm sure our feelings will reach the viewers too. Osaka Sougo: That's true.... I understand.
Yotsuba Tamaki: ...Woah. I can't believe you told everyone that you wanted to do something for once. Osaka Sougo: Perhaps I spoke out of line.... Yotsuba Tamaki: No, that's not it! ...Is it 'cuz you're a TRIGGER fan? Osaka Sougo: ....... When my family was criticizing my uncle, I wasn't able to do anything.... Osaka Sougo: He was so kind to me, and I loved him so much.... But I wasn't able to tell them to stop saying the things they saying. I didn't have enough courage, I was a coward.... Osaka Sougo: That's why I wanted to do something this time. Yotsuba Tamaki: I'm sure TRIGGER knows. They're not gonna give up because of this kinda stuff. You're the one who's sadder about this, if anything. Osaka Sougo: You're right.... I'm getting too caught up in this. And now I've gone and nagged at you too.... Yotsuba Tamaki: ...Do you hate it when people diss me? Osaka Sougo: Of course I do. ...I absolutely hate it. It's true that you have a few negative points here and there, Tamaki-kun, but you're always trying your hardest.... Osaka Sougo: Every time a person says something about you and the smile leaves your face, I get anxious. Yotsuba Tamaki: Anxious? Osaka Sougo: ......Whenever someone speaks badly of you, I get this feeling that you'll go somewhere far, far away and never come back.... Yotsuba Tamaki: Oh.... Osaka Sougo: Ah-- Sorry for being so selfish. You don't need to force yourself to come back if you don't want to. I didn't mean to impinge upon your freedom, Tamaki-kun.... Yotsuba Tamaki: Ahaha, really? Of all the things you said, that's the part you wanna take back? Hi-yah! Osaka Sougo: Ow! Yotsuba Tamaki: It's okay. I'm here. No matter what they say, I'll always be here. Calm as ever. Osaka Sougo: Tamaki-kun.... Yotsuba Tamaki: You know, I never really got why you'd put all of those bigwigs first, especially when I was the one right by your side. It used to piss me off, but now.... Yotsuba Tamaki: The answer's simple. You just wanted everyone to praise me. Yotsuba Tamaki: You wanted people to praise me, kinda like how you wanted people to praise your uncle. Yeah? Osaka Sougo: ....... Yotsuba Tamaki: What's wrong? You're making a really weird face.... Osaka Sougo: ....... I.... I'm at a loss for words.... Yotsuba Tamaki: What kind of words? Osaka Sougo: I never realized until now.... Osaka Sougo: All I've ever wanted was for people to praise the things I like.... Osaka Sougo: That's it.... That's all there is to it.... Yotsuba Tamaki: Sou-chan.... Yotsuba Tamaki: ....... Yotsuba Tamaki: You know what, who cares? Osaka Sougo: What? Yotsuba Tamaki: You've held back enough, so who cares? The people who make fun of the stuff you like are gonna do it anyways, even if you're a super duper upstanding citizen. Osaka Sougo: Tamaki-kun.... Yotsuba Tamaki: Don't hold yourself back anymore. You can say that you like the things you like, and in a way louder voice. Yotsuba Tamaki: Haha. In a really, really loud voice. Okay? 'Cuz even I couldn't tell, and I'm right besides you. How the heck are people far, far away gonna know? Yotsuba Tamaki: Who cares if it's good or bad, or if it's right or wrong? You can like the things you like, and that's okay. Osaka Sougo: .......
Anesagi Kaoru: ...President. Bad news. Yaotome Sousuke: What is it this time? Anesagi Kaoru: Hanamaki Sumire contacted me and requested to meet with you alone.... She said that she's been reflecting upon her actions regarding this incident and had panicked in the heat of the moment. Yaotome Sousuke: Tell her to come to the agency. Anesagi Kaoru: She's been staying in a hotel somewhere in the city to protect herself from the paparazzi. Since she's scared of them, she requested for you come to her room.... Yaotome Sousuke: Does she think I'm stupid? As if I'd fall for such a blatant trap! Anesagi Kaoru: I know, but.... She said she wanted to die.... Yaotome Sousuke: Well, I feel the exact same way because I'm at my wit's end! Fine. So be it. I'll take one of the female employees with me.... Anesagi Kaoru: It's a holiday and everyone has the day off, so nobody is here right now. Shall I sneak in with you? Yaotome Sousuke: No.... Not you. Anesagi Kaoru: How come? Yaotome Sousuke: Well, it's hard to tell if you're a man or a woman. Anesagi Kaoru: My god, have you no manners!? This is sexual harassment!! My prince would never say something like that! Yaotome Sousuke: I know, I know! I'm sorry! However, I absolutely cannot go to her hotel room alone.... Convince her to come to the agency. Anesagi Kaoru: Oh, I most definitely tried to convince her. I failed to mention this earlier, but she said that if you weren't going to come alone, then she'd kill herself.... Yaotome Sousuke: Is it a bluff? Anesagi Kaoru: I don't know.... But it's true that she's very cornered in this situation. Yaotome Sousuke: ....... Yaotome Sousuke: Musubi.... Anesagi Kaoru: ....... Yaotome Sousuke: ...Ready the car. Anesagi Kaoru: ...Are you going? Yaotome Sousuke: Nothing can take the place of a person's life. Anesagi Kaoru: Oh, President.... Yaotome Sousuke: Should I change into a different suit? I have to look presentable for the photos, after all. Anesagi Kaoru: I will station personnel in the hotel lobby. I will not allow anybody to take disgraceful pictures of you. Yaotome Sousuke: Thank you.
Oogami Banri: President! Look at this news article.... Takanashi Otoharu: What...? ...Yaotome-kun had a tryst with Hanamaki-san at a hotel...? Oogami Banri: All of the news outlets are pushing out similar things. Not just that, all of the female talents at Yaotome Products are losing their reputations. Oogami Banri: The way all of these outlets are approaching this incident is really unusual. The only concrete fact we have is that Hanamaki-san wants to quit Tsukumo Productions. And yet.... Oogami Banri: They keep publishing articles on how Tsunashi-kun mediated her agency change or how she and President Yaotome have an intimate relationship as if these are facts! Oogami Banri: It's like they're using the media to brainwash everyone! Takanashi Otoharu: Yaotome-kun....
TV Station Staff: Did you hear? Apparently the president of Yaotome Productions met up with Hanamaki Sumire at a hotel in secret.... There's photos of them exiting her room together. TV Station Staff: Wait, so the president's the one behind all of this and not Tsunashi-san? Damn.... TV Station Staff: Yeah, but the way Yaotome Productions is getting bashed feels kinda blatant.... Like someone's pulling the strings from the shadows.... TV Station Staff: Oh, good morn-- Anesagi Kaoru: Good morning. We look forward to working with you today. Anesagi Kaoru: Listen up, you guys. There's no need to talk any more than necessary, outside of greetings. Kujou Ten: ...Understood. Yaotome Gaku: ...Yeah. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... Anesagi Kaoru: Chins up! Ah, Shimooka-san. Good morning. We will be in your care today. Mr. Shimooka: Y-yeah.... Mr. Shimooka: Morning, everyone. I look forward working with y'all.... Yaotome Gaku: .....Shimooka-san seemed kinda down. I heard he wasn't feeling well, but is he really okay?
Kujou Ten: ....... Yaotome Gaku: ....... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ...Hanamaki-san went home to her family. She sent me a message, saying 'Thank you for taking such good care of me.' Yaotome Gaku: ...Who the fuck does she think she is, sending you a message like that? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... I don't think she understood what was really happening.... She was so, so tired and desperately wanted to take a break from everything. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I asked her if she could revise the statements she made to the media, but she told me that she's too scared to do it right now. She did say that once everything calms down she would.... Yaotome Gaku: You're too fucking nice to people! She dragged my dad into this mess too, you know? People use you because you're like that! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I can submit her messages as evidence. But if we turn to hate right now, then we're not any better than the lot of them! Yaotome Gaku: ....... Kujou Ten: Don't yell. They can hear from outside. Kujou Ten: We'll prove our innocence ourselves-- on stage. Kujou Ten: Our fans are the most uneasy right now. They don't know whether or not they should trust us. Kujou Ten: We must look them right in the eye and answer them. *door opens* Nanase Riku: Good morning! Kujou Ten: Riku.... Izumi Mitsuki: You guys doing alright? We're also gonna be on the show today, so we dropped by to visit! Yotsuba Tamaki: Here's your gift! It's King Pudding! ...Can I have one? Osaka Sougo: Tamaki-kun, it's gift for them! You have to let them open it first-- Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Haha, go ahead. Is that okay with you two? Yaotome Gaku: Yeah. ...Thank you. Izumi Iori: Consuming foods with high sugar content will stimulate the reward centers in the brain. In other words, this is a form of stress-relief. (2) Kujou Ten: Thank you. Nanase Riku: A lot of people came for you guys. Like what one of the TRIGGER fans said to me earlier, cheer up! Nanase Riku: She also said, 'I believe in all of you!' Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... She said that...? Thank you.... Yaotome Gaku: Dumbass.... What are you doing? You're on the verge of tears. Osaka Sougo: I'm sorry about what happened.... I can't even begin to fathom everything you've gone through, Tsunashi-san.... Rokuya Nagi: We know all of you are true gentlemen, as do the people who have been watching you all this time. Rokuya Nagi: TRIGGER's soul has poured love into their music, their performance, and their fans-- And it shall never be wounded. Kujou Ten: You're right.... What we've been conveying to the fans all this time is still here. Kujou Ten: That's the type of work we've done. We must stand proud, with our heads held high. Kujou Ten: We can't let our past selves laugh at what we've become. That's what we must do right now, and nothing more. Yaotome Gaku: Yeah. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: That's right. Osaka Sougo: Please do your best.... If there is anything I can do, I'll do it. Nanase Riku: Me too, Ten-nii! Kujou Ten: Yeah. Thank you for coming to see me, Riku. Nanase Riku: Huh...? Kujou Ten: I feel better now. Nanase Riku: ....... Nanase Riku: Yet, for some reason, I felt like crying in that instant.
To be continued....
TL notes/comments:
Thank you everyone for your patience! I’m slowly getting into the swing of my new life rhythm tho still struggling to find a good work-life balance...
Big shoutout to @kuriiii for english proofreading as always!!!
I KNOW ANNIVERSARY STUFF IS UP SO NEXT IN LINE is producer letter, and then it’s a free for all after that!!! my personal backlog is a horrendous mess but I’ll prioritize pt3 (HOPEFULLY I BEAT OUT PT4′S RELEASE), other voiced stories, and then music!
Again, I’d like to stress that I don’t!! Own!!!! Idolish Seven!! I am no copyright holder so legit if you wanna tl something and are confident you have the Japanese capabilities to do so accurately??? Go for it buddy, no need to ask me! There isn’t only one translation for The Odyssey or other pieces of literature, so honestly I think having multiple different takes on the same work (in this case a 2d idol mobage story) helps readers get a better grasp of nuances in the original that one interpretation might not have captured.
Likewise, I’d like to stress that at the end of the day, translating the various forms of media encompassing the Idolish Seven project has been a personal project. I’m more than happy (read: S T O K E D) that my own little side hobby has managed to help fans further their interest in the franchise and deepen their love for the characters, but it is not my job to roll out translations for the story at the snap of your fingers (esp now that I have a full-time day job and other commitments).
tl;dr i dont own anything other than the shit i crank out here!! also dw i am not offended if someone else tls a thing, and likewise if i tl a thing that someone else did already, it ain’t a passive aggressive ‘yuour tl sux xoxo’ --> its bc i was gonna do it anyways at some point in time bc it was a thing i had planned on tling (which also helps me retain things i read otherwise they go poof)!!
ANYWAYS, with that outta the way, here are the Real Translation Notes:
(1) 人命にはかえられない。- was actually a little stuck on how to do this line bc no kanji 4 kaerarenai but after 9 years of frantic googling and example sentences i settled on this.
(2) AS A BIOLOGY MAJOR I HAD WAY TOO MUCH FUN TRANSLATING THIS LINE
(3) ご心労、お察しします。十さん.... --> fun fact i was crunching this out in the library during like finals week or smth and then right before the library closed i went back to this line (WHICH I SKIPPED BC I FIGURED ID GET STUCK AND LO AND BEHOLD) and then couldn't tl it in time and flash forward like 2 months after things have pseudo settled down, i fINALLY find a satisfactory japanese explanation for this phrase to work off of (bc i got the general gist but i figured there was More, and ofc there is more) --> 心が疲れていることを推しはかった上で心配りや同情を示す = "I can only imagine how tired your heart (soul/mind) must be, and I am also worried and sympathize"
10.4, 10.5 aren’t done yet because Life but hopefully I’ll be able to find time to blast thru soon...
As usual, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!
Thank you for reading!!

Update!
Hello everyone! Sorry for the radio silence these past few months, but life’s been pretty hectic with finals, graduation, moving, AX crunch, etc etc.
Wrt translations, I have 10.3 mostly done, with a couple or so lines in need of editing and overall QCing so I’ll def be posting that either directly after Anime Expo, or along with the rest of Chapter 10 at the end of July since I have to move again mid-month.
I do apologize for the lack of updates and progress with respect to all of my translations, but hopefully I’ll be settled in and up and running by late July/August.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ll be attending Anime Expo and I’m definitely going to the Idolish Seven gathering on Saturday (as Taiko no Tatsujin Gaku with a Ryuu itabag LOL)! Feel free to hit me up any time during the con (DM me on twitter @shiroihime) and let’s talk i7! ٩( ´・ш・)و

Translation below the cut!
Isumi Haruka: It's showtime! Wanna hear us sing? Audience: *cheers* Isumi Haruka: Wanna dance with us? Audience: *cheers* Isumi Haruka: Forget all that you've ever seen! Destroy everything from before this moment! (4) Audience: *cheers* Isumi Haruka: Just remember these names. ŹOOĻ-- "Poisonous Gangster." Audience: *cheers* Passerby: Oh my gosh! They're so hot! I'm having so much fun right now! Passerby: These guys are amazing! It's like there's four of TRIGGER's Kujou Ten! Passerby: What is this? Where can I download this song? Who's ŹOOĻ? Passerby: Maybe it's a debut event for an idol group! They're not like all the goody two-shoes out there.... They're really interesting! Passerby: ŹOOĻ! ŹOOĻ! Passerby: *cheers* Kujou Ten: ......ŹOOĻ. Kujou Ten: So that boy's the center.... Passerby: I wanna get closer to the front! Move! Kujou Ten: ....... Kujou Ten: Isumi Haruka....
Nanase Riku: ......ŹOOĻ. Nanase Riku: And that was the sensational debut event for Tsukumo Productions' new idol group, ŹOOĻ.
Woman: Did you catch it on TV last night? Yeah, ŹOOĻ! I was there yesterday!! Woman: They're totally amazing! I went on the official site for them and pre-ordered their CD! It's so cool that Haruka and Touma are both centers! Woman: Minami-san and Torao-san are really good too! They're like a cool and sexy duo! Woman: Touma-kun's so hot! NO_MAD? I totally didn't notice! I don't remember them at all! Woman: I love that they're kinda extreme! I wanna see them on TV more! I wanna see Haruka doing more stuff! Woman: Yeah, but.... What about TRIGGER's-- Woman: Honestly, I don't wanna hear about TRIGGER any more. I kinda got tired of them after they got bashed on TV non-stop. Oh, but I still love Ten-kun!
Voice from TV: Take a look at this, everyone! What in the world is this picture? Voice from TV: Why, it's a picture from an idol group's debut! It looks as lively as a Halloween event! Voice from TV: It's a classic idol group full of hotties! And they're called.... Voice from TV: ŹOOĻ! Kujou Takamasa: ....... I see. Haruka has debuted. Kujou Takamasa: A year, or even three. Ryou said that was enough for him. *phone rings* Kujou Takamasa: .....Hello. Yes, it's me. I'm fine. Are you doing well, Aya? Kujou Takamasa: Haha.... I look forward to that. Kombucha muffins, huh.... That's true. Tea is a must. Kujou Takamasa: Of course I'll eat them when I get back. Alright then. Keep up the good work.... *beep* Kujou Takamasa: ......I must find a way to reign in that girl's imagination, at least when it comes to baking.... *door opens* Kujou Ten: I have returned, Kujou-san. Kujou Takamasa: Welcome home, Ten. The Tokyo International Music and Arts Festival is right around the corner. I have great expectations for you. Kujou Ten: Thank you. Kujou Takamasa: However, I have lost faith in Yaotome Productions. Perhaps it is time.... Kujou Ten: If you don't mind, there's something I'd like to ask you. Kujou Takamasa: What is it? Kujou Ten: It's about a boy named Isumi Haruka. What part about him makes him a failure? Kujou Takamasa: Haha. You and him were made in opposite ways. Kujou Ten: Opposite...? Kujou Takamasa: But it was no good. He found everything boring and was quite the disagreeable child. Absolutely no good at all. That why I let him go the instant I noticed. Kujou Ten: How were we raised differently? Kujou Takamasa: I taught him that he should never be thankful towards the fans. That going from utter joy to dejection depending on how the fans respond is unstable, and therefore, foolish. Kujou Takamasa: After all, the fans might have been one of the reasons why Zero disappeared.... Kujou Ten: ....... Kujou Takamasa: ......Haruka is skilled. However, I ended up making him a rather boring and defective product. It was truly a disappointment. Kujou Takamasa: I couldn't bear to look at him any longer. And such, I sent him away. Kujou Ten: ......Are you saying you abandoned one of the talents you raised because he was a failure? Kujou Takamasa: I did. I promised that I'd make him my son, but I didn't think he was going to turn out that way.... Kujou Ten: Kujou-san, that's.... Kujou Takamasa: That's what? Kujou Ten: ...... That's cruel. You toyed with a person's life. Kujou Takamasa: ...Are you condemning me? Kujou Ten: I respect you, Kujou-san. However, this is the one thing I cannot respect. You should apologi-- Kujou Takamasa: I apologized! I told him that he was a failure! I told him that I had nothing more to teach him! Kujou Ten: I will live up to all of your expectations! There's no need to make more children like him or Aya! Kujou Ten: Focus all of your efforts on me. You're fine with that, correct? Kujou Takamasa: Hmm.... Kujou Takamasa: Alright then. I'm happy to hear that, Ten. I knew you were the one for me, after all. Kujou Ten: ....... May I ask you another question? Kujou Takamasa: Of course. Feel free to ask me as many questions as you'd like. Kujou Ten: Did Sakura Haruki-san pass away? Kujou Takamasa: I wonder. Kujou Takamasa: The letter I received from him contained a living will. However, I have no idea where he is or what he is doing. (1) Kujou Ten: ....... Kujou Takamasa: It is true that he doesn't have much time left. It appears that he will be giving me his songs before he dies. Kujou Ten: Sakura Haruki's.... Posthumous works...? You really don't know where he is? Kujou Takamasa: Why are you asking me this? Are you interested in Haruki? Do you want his songs? Kujou Takamasa: Of course I'll give them to you, Ten. You are the perfect idol, one that I made myself. You are the ideal star, even more so than Zero. Kujou Takamasa: You are the only one who meets all the requirements to become the ultimate idol. I once thought that about Yuki, but that boy had faltered. Kujou Ten: .....Requirements to become the ultimate idol? Kujou Takamasa: I'm certain you're already aware of them, Ten. After all, you had already met them before I met you. Kujou Takamasa: You were just like a messiah, born from a virgin. (2) Kujou Ten: .......
To be continued....
Translation Notes/comments:
Thank you @kuriiii for proofreading as always!
(1) 生前遺言書 - I am no legal expert, but it may also be called an advanced directive (i think this is the medical term). Unlike a last will, which is what most of us are more familiar with, there is nothing concerning what is to happen to your property or minor children in it. A living will is usually written in the case of terminal illness, injury, or permanent unconsciousness/vegetative state and details whether or not you should be kept on life support. It also details your preferences for medical treatments/procedures. It is effective once you are no longer able to communicate your desires on your own. Again, I am no expert and I'm just summarizing what I read from here, so if anyone is more knowledgeable about this topic, please don't hesitate to send me an ask!
(2) 処女受体で生まれた救世主みたいにね。- "bro WHAT" yeah kujou went and actually Said That dude

10.1 - A Tetrarchy of Insanity and Ruin

Translation below the cut!
On-Site Reporter: We'll be taking a special look at brass bands today! Word has it that being in a brass band is the new big thing, especially among students.... High School Girl: Omg! That's IDOLiSH7's Nanase Riku! High School Girl: No way! Where, where? Nanase Riku: ......I guess everybody left already. Nanase Riku: Man, I can't believe I'm ducking around and hiding. That's the type of stuff idols do.... I mean, yeah I'm an idol, but still.... *smack* Nanase Riku: Ah! Sorry about that! Inumaru Touma: IDOLiSH7.... You again? Nanase Riku: Touma-san....
Kujou Ten: ...... Isumi Haruka: Hey! Kujou Ten: It's you.... Isumi Haruka: Stay right here. I'm gonna show you something good. Kujou Ten: ...What do you mean by that? Isumi Haruka: I'm gonna show you TRIGGER's demise-- and yours. Kujou Ten: ....... Isumi Haruka: Hmph. Everyone in this city is fickle. Stupid. Irresponsible. Shallow. Isumi Haruka: And you're the one manipulating them. Kujou Ten: ....... Kujou Ten: Kujou-san called you a failure. Kujou Ten: Any guesses as to why? Isumi Haruka: Me? A failure? That's not true at all! You're the one who's a failure! Isumi Haruka: You're the one who thinks he's happy, singing and dancing for a bunch of fools! Isumi Haruka: Even though you don't have anything left! Kujou Ten: ....... Kujou Ten: This 'lot of fools' you mentioned.... Are you perhaps talking about our fans? Isumi Haruka: I am! Isumi Haruka: I'm gonna show you who's right. It's me-- not you.
Inumaru Touma: Hah, serves 'em right. Majesty of a king, my ass. TRIGGER's taking a real nosedive. (1) Nanase Riku: Are you actually happy about TRIGGER losing their reputation because of rumors? Nanase Riku: Didn't you want to win against them on stage, as a fellow idol? Inumaru Touma: The hell are you saying? They're the ones who used dirty tricks first! Nanase Riku: Dirty tricks? Inumaru Touma: We had more talent. But they won because they were popular! Because of promotions! Inumaru Touma: Goddamn popularity. Might as well be some mysterious monster that went and blessed them before abandoning us. (2) Inumaru Touma: That's all there is to it. Nanase Riku: ...I don't think so. I know for a fact that Ten-- TRIGGER is serious when they sing on stage! Inumaru Touma: I'm not gonna sing seriously, ever again. Nanase Riku: ....... Inumaru Touma: Even so, I'm gonna win against you all! I'm gonna make those ear-splitting cheers from the audience mine. Inumaru Touma: And then I'm gonna laugh at the world with all I've got! Nanase Riku: You cried over losing! Inumaru Touma: Shut up! Nanase Riku: ......!? What is this? There's music playing across the city...? Passerby: Look! Right there in front of that building. There's like people assembling over there or something.... Passerby: Over there too.... Oh! They're dancing to the music! Passerby: Ahaha! It's a flash mob! I've never seen one this big!
Kujou Ten: The train station building.... Passerby: Woah! There's projections all over it! What's going on? Is there an event happening? Passerby: This song is really cool! Hey, look over there! Doesn't it kinda look like a stage? Passerby: Damn, that's awesome! The whole city looks like a theme park! Looks like it'll be a lit! Passerby: Look at the TV screens on around us! They're all counting down! 7... 6... 5.... Passerby: Something's definitely gonna happen! 4! 3!
Crowd: 2! Crowd: 1! Crowd: Zero! (3) Crowd: *cheers*
Passerby: Look at the big screen! They're showing two hotties right now! Passerby: Ah! I know him, he's Natsume Minami! Who's the other guy? He's super hot.... Passerby: They're not just on the screen! Look over there! The real deal is on stage!
Nanase Riku: ...Huh? Touma-san?
Midou Torao: Heh. Hearing this many girls screaming for me feels really good. Natsume Minami: Men are cheering too. Midou Torao: You can have 'em. Oh, looks like they're here. Passerby: Oh my gosh, two more people are going on stage! Their silhouettes look really cool! Passerby: What's going on? Something's definitely happening! Midou Torao: Hey. Inumaru Touma: ...I'm back. Finally, I'm here again.... Inumaru Touma: Tora. First time on stage, yeah? How do ya feel? Weak in the knees? Midou Torao: Absolutely euphoric. Inumaru Touma: Goddamn optimists.... Isumi Haruka: ...Hmph. Fools. Natsume Minami: Isumi-san, you mustn't. Isumi Haruka: Don't worry. The instant the spotlight is on me, I'll be smiling. I'll be smiling more gently and cheerfully than anybody here. Isumi Haruka: We're gonna fool them, get them all riled up. And make them fall head over heels for us. We'll be the ultimate drug. Isumi Haruka: We're gonna make them trip. Audience: *cheers*
Tumblr media
Isumi Haruka: It's showtime! Wanna hear us sing? Audience: *cheers* Isumi Haruka: Wanna dance with us? Audience: *cheers* Isumi Haruka: Forget all that you've ever seen! Destroy everything from before this moment! (4) Audience: *cheers* Isumi Haruka: Just remember these names. ŹOOĻ-- "Poisonous Gangster."
To be continued....
TL Notes/comments:
I’m alive!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally a teensy lull in Real Life Stuff so I can work on part 3!!!!!!!!!!!! yippee!! Thank you @kuriiii for proofreading as always!
(1) Did a lot of reworking here, mostly splitting things into 2-3 diff lil phrases because 王者の風格が大暴落だ sounded absolutely terrible as one sentence LOL
(2) 人気とかいう、得体の知れない化け物の恩恵を受けて、今はそいつに見放された。- I'm gonna assume the 'soitsu' touma mentions is the ~mysterious monster that is popularity~ bc then the direct tl is --> They benefitted from a certain mysterious monster called 'popularity,' which then abandoned us.
(3) Just wanted to note they say 'zero' in katakana versus in the number. Zero, the legendary idol himself, also stylizes his name that way so who tf knows!!! Might be just a regular old stylistic thing idk but :^) u never kno dude
(4) technically he says 'destroy everything from before/and including yesterday' but this sounds Cooler n more Edgy Teens so yeah
As usual, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!
Thank you for reading!!

9.5 - Preparing for a Coup d'etat

Translation below the cut!
Rokuya Nagi: Testify? Sure. Yaotome Gaku: Thanks! I really owe you one! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Like I said, we can't! We absolutely cannot drag Nagi-kun or IDOLiSH7 into this! Rokuya Nagi: Hm.... That is certainly true. Alright then, I refuse. Yaotome Gaku: Rokuya!? A man never goes back on his word! Nikaidou Yamato: What are you guys talking about? Izumi Mitsuki: Something about getting Nagi or us involved? I think they're talking about the stuff that's been on the news...? Kujou Ten: Allow me to explain. Do you have time right now?
Izumi Mitsuki: What the hell!? I’ll never forgive those assholes at Tsukumo! Nikaidou Yamato: Hanamaki-chan did seem like she was having a hard time lately. Maybe they've been using her.... Rokuya Nagi: Using women like that is unforgivable. Very well. Allow me to aid in this matter. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: You can't! You're still considered a minor in Japan. I will not let you get tangled up in this kind of mess. (1) Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: People are going to try to discredit your testimony. There's no telling what the press is going to say or write about you! Rokuya Nagi: There is no need to explain everything to me as if I were a clueless, ignorant student. If anything, I am more knowledgeable in these matters than you are. Rokuya Nagi: I was able to clean my image up by holding that press conference. With my testimony, I'm sure that I'll be able to manipulate your image into-- Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I'm telling you, this incident isn't something a child should get involved in! Rokuya Nagi: Pardon? Yaotome Gaku: Shut up, Ryuu! It's just like you said, Rokuya. Can you promise us your testimony? Rokuya Nagi: No. I refuse. Yaotome Gaku: Why!? Rokuya Nagi: Tsunashi-shi's attitude has put me in an utterly terrible mood. Yaotome Gaku: Hey! We need him to help you, so apologize! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I don't want him to help me! Rokuya Nagi: Hahaha. The man said so himself. Izumi Mitsuki: Nagi! Don't be so cold. TRIGGER's always helping us out, so we gotta return the favor! Rokuya Nagi: Oh.... Well, if you say so, Mitsuki.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: You can't do that, Nagi-kun! Taking on something like this so casually might end up causing trouble for IDOLiSH7! Rokuya Nagi: Do you mind explaining why you keep lecturing me when you're not in any position do so? Might I remind you, you're the one who is asking for something, not me. Yaotome Gaku: Exactly! Ryuu, if you could be just a little bit more humble.... Kujou Ten: I see we've reached an impasse. Nikaidou Yamato: You could say that again.... Who knows how long it's gonna take before they stop flying back and forth between options and reach an agreement.... Kujou Ten: They might just run out of fuel, spiral down, and crash before then. (2) Nikaidou Yamato: Better ready the parachutes then. Yaotome Gaku: Alright! How about this? In exchange for your testimony, I'll do anything you say. Anything. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Gaku! Rokuya Nagi: You will, Yaotome-shi? Yaotome Gaku: Yeah. Is there anything you want me to do? Rokuya Nagi: ....... Rokuya Nagi: Please teach me some Japanese internet slang. I've run out of them lately. Yaotome Gaku: Internet slang...? Oh, I know! Alright. Here's one I can teach ya. Yaotome Gaku: Tehepero. (3) Kujou Ten: That's a little outdated.... Rokuya Nagi: Oh, tehepero! What does it mean? Yaotome Gaku: "Oopsie daisies! Sorry, can't do anything about it. Forgive me?" Rokuya Nagi: Do you have any more? Yaotome Gaku: Kyawatan. Kujou Ten: Like I said, isn't that a little outdated? Rokuya Nagi: Oh! Kyawatan! What does it mean? Yaotome Gaku: "Cute." Rokuya Nagi: Oh, how splendid! I will definitely be using these words in the near future! Nikaidou Yamato: Listen man, I've been keeping quiet this whole time, but this is the type of stuff high school girls say.... See also, not internet slang.... Rokuya Nagi: Thank you very, very much! I'd be more than happy to help you, TRIGGER. When would you like me to testify-- Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: We don't need your help! I'd rather bite the bullet and confront Tsukumo myself than drag a minor into this! (4) Izumi Mitsuki: Oh, hell no! Going to Tsukumo is the last thing you wanna do right now, Tsunashi-san! Not with this timing! Nikaidou Yamato: Say, how about we strike down the opposition by starting from the person of interest? Where is she right now? Yaotome Gaku: Who? Nikaidou Yamato: Hanamaki-chan. If we get her to spit out the truth, then problem solved, yeah? Rokuya Nagi: Oh.... I am strongly against putting women in danger. Nikaidou Yamato: Nah, it won't be dangerous. We're just gonna have her tell the truth. Rokuya Nagi: Look at everything that's happened to Tsunashi-shi. If she turns coat, there is a very good chance that she will have to face terrible things.... Kujou Ten: I agree with Nikaidou Yamato. It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman-- if you deceive someone, you ought to take responsibility for your actions. Yaotome Gaku: Damn. You're definitely someone who'd never forgive a partner for cheating. Izumi Mitsuki: Listen, I don't like picking on girls. But I'm all for taking on Tsukumo if all we gotta do is give her a good shake! Nikaidou Yamato: Mitsu, that's a little much! We can settle this with a peaceful discussion. It'll be okay. We won't need to shake her or anything. Izumi Mitsuki: You're scary as hell when you get pissed off, so I can't trust you on that one. Nikaidou Yamato: Well, you're the one who straight up provoked me! Izumi Mitsuki: See, look! You're mad now! Rokuya Nagi: We're all over the place. I propose we act separately, following our own convictions. Who will be directly confronting Tsukumo with me? Izumi Mitsuki: Me! Yaotome Gaku: Count me in. Nikaidou Yamato: And who's down to tackle the problem via Hanamaki-chan? Kujou Ten: I am. Izumi Mitsuki: Cool. All is well no matter which team succeeds! Who ever settles stuff first should contact the other team, okay? Izumi Mitsuki: Alright! Disperse! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Wait! I didn't want to get anyone involved.... Why is this turning into such a big deal! Nikaidou Yamato: That's easy. It's because you're a good person. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... Izumi Mitsuki: Yep, yep! Like hell we could sit still. Don't worry, we'll figure something out!
Hanamaki Sumire: What should I do.... IDOLiSH7's Yamato-san just contacted me.... Hanamaki Sumire: I know what he's after. He asked me, 'Why don't you tell the truth?' Midou Torao: I see. Well, what's stopping you? Just do whatever you want. Hanamaki Sumire: I can't do that.... This isn't just about me. This is about us. Isn't that right!? Hanamaki Sumire: You said you'd marry me! I'm prepared to retire from the entertainment industry for that purpose! Midou Torao: Hmm, I don't know about that. You see, I don't like pushy women. Hanamaki Sumire: I.... I'm sorry.... I just got so scared.... Please…. Please don't hate me.... Midou Torao: Haha. Midou Torao: Don't worry. You're the woman I chose, after all. Midou Torao: Let me tease you from time to time.
Rokuya Nagi: I believe that is Mister Tsukumo's apartment. Izumi Mitsuki: You sure we don't need to go his agency? Rokuya Nagi: Yes, because Yaotome-shi is with us. The mere act of stepping over that threshold with him by our side would have brought about all sorts of assumptions. Rokuya Nagi: Blackmail, collusion, bribery, secret agreements. Pick your poison. Yaotome Gaku: If people are gonna misunderstand anyways, I'd rather stake outside his apartment for hours instead. Yaotome Gaku: Sorry for making you guys do this. Izumi Mitsuki: Don't sweat it! I can't let underhanded bastards have their way, after all! Rokuya Nagi: I'm doing this for the sake of that beautiful woman.
Nikaidou Yamato: Good evening. Hanamaki Sumire: ...Good evening. Nikaidou Yamato: You could've brought someone with you, y'know? I said I was okay with it. Talking one-on-one is pretty scary, after all. Anyways, I've got someone with me. Kujou Ten: Hello. I've heard all about how kind you've been to Ryuu. Hanamaki Sumire: .......
Tsukumo Ryou: ....... Yaotome Gaku: ......Ah! Somebody just got back! Izumi Mitsuki: Quick! We gotta stop 'em before they get through the door! Rokuya Nagi: OK. Let me handle this. Tsukumo Ryou: La la la~ Wha-- !? Rokuya Nagi: Pardon me. You must be President Tsukumo, correct? Tsukumo Ryou: You are.... Yaotome Gaku: Do you mind giving us a bit of your time? We wanna talk to you about Ryuu. Yaotome Gaku: Hanamaki-san asked him to call Tsukumo Productions. That's it. Why'd you guys void her contract just like that after he called? Yaotome Gaku: Also, he never said a word about Yaotome Productions wanting her. Tsukumo Ryou: Ahaha. You must be Yaotome-kun's beloved son. Well, everything happened that way because that's just how we want things! Yaotome Gaku: But that's not the truth! Tsukumo Ryou: The truth, you say? Allow me to tell you the truth. Tsukumo Ryou: Your Papa doesn't love your Mama. Tsukumo Ryou: There was someone he loved all along, but another man took her. So your Papa settled for a substitute. Yaotome Gaku: ....... Tsukumo Ryou: Everybody knows about this at Tsukumo. So, tell me. How does it feel to work for your father? How does it feel to work for a man who sees your mother as nothing more than Plan B? Yaotome Gaku: You fucking asshole! Rokuya Nagi: Please calm down! You mustn't let him provoke you-- Izumi Mitsuki: Are you fucking kidding me!? Listen douchebag, there's shit you can say and then there's shit you absolutely cannot say!
Nikaidou Yamato: Neither of us want weird rumors spreading around, so as a precaution I'm recording everything. Okay? Hanamaki Sumire: What are you trying to make me say? Nikaidou Yamato: ...You sure feel like a different person, Hanamaki-san. Hanamaki Sumire: There is no point in recording me, and you're not going to want to keep anything I say. It’s cause trouble for you. Nikaidou Yamato: What do you mean cause trouble for us? Hanamaki Sumire: So, Yamato-san. I hear you're Chiba Shizuo's son? Nikaidou Yamato: ....... Hanamaki Sumire: No wonder you landed a lead role instantly! Must be nice to be someone's favorite. Hanamaki Sumire: But don't you feel a little bad for your mother? Or are you going to get a mistress of your own someday, Yamato-san? Nikaidou Yamato: ...Hanamaki-san. Hanamaki Sumire: How about me, Yamato-san? I could be your mistress. Nikaidou Yamato: You've become such a cheap woman. What happened to you? What made you like this? Hanamaki Sumire: Better this than a bastard child. You're only going to disappoint your fans. So, do you still want me to talk? Hanamaki Sumire: Because there are plenty of exciting things I could talk about.... Kujou Ten: Go ahead. Talk then. Hanamaki Sumire: ....... Kujou Ten: Go on. Hanamaki Sumire: ...I've heard about you, Ten-kun. Kujou Ten: I see. Well, I've heard about you too. Hanamaki Sumire: ....... Kujou Ten: You're one of the best singers out there. You don’t need to rely on sordid words. You can keep on protecting your charm through your music. Hanamaki Sumire: Ten-kun.... Kujou Ten: What are you afraid of? Let me see the gentle smile that we all know. Kujou Ten: Anyone who dares to tarnish your pride doesn't respect you-- they are your enemy.
Rokuya Nagi: Mitsuki! You mustn't! Tsukumo Ryou: Ahaha! Aw, you should've gone ahead and punched me! It would've made headlines! Definitely would've been on the front page of the newspaper tomorrow. Tsukumo Ryou: Or maybe you want people to write articles instead? Listen, listen. Did you know everyone hates you, Izumi Mitsuki-kun? Tsukumo Ryou: Everybody's talking about how your voice is so loud and annoying. Yaotome Gaku: What the fuck did you say? Rokuya Nagi: You dare.... Izumi Mitsuki: Stop! Izumi Mitsuki: That's fine by me. I don't care if people hate me. As long as my work is helping someone, somewhere out there, I don't give a damn. Izumi Mitsuki: Even if people bash me for the rest of my life, I'm gonna keep on talking! Tsukumo Ryou: Good grief, what an earsore. Yaotome Gaku: Shut the fuck up already, will you? Tsukumo Ryou: Well, will you look at that! You're all bark, but no bite. Hurry up and grab me! Tell me you're going to kill me. Tell me to die! Tsukumo Ryou: Oh? You're not going to say anything? My, my. You showbiz people have such terrible manners. Tsukumo Ryou: Alright, then. I guess I'll be going into my apartment. And none of you will be able to stop me from doing so. There isn't a single thing you can do-- because you're idols. Yaotome Gaku: Answer me! You set Ryuu up, didn't you? Tsukumo Ryou: Oh, my! I would never! Tsukumo Ryou: There, I answered. Good night. Congratulations on waiting for nothing! Tsukumo Ryou: Ahahaha! Yaotome Gaku: ....... Yaotome Gaku: Fuck!
Hanamaki Sumire: .....You're the one who doesn't have any pride, Ten-kun. Hanamaki Sumire: I'm dating Tsunashi-san right now. Tsunashi-san invited me over to his agency, so I quit Tsukumo. But Yaotome Productions never offered me anything. Hanamaki Sumire: All of these men can't even help one woman. Isn’t that lame? Hanamaki Sumire: And it's just as the magazines say. All of you, Tsunashi-san included, have made a mess of my life without ever once taking responsibility. Kujou Ten: ....... Nikaidou Yamato: ...Kujou, there's no point. She's changed. Kujou Ten: What a pity, Hanamaki-san. Hanamaki Sumire: ...Just admit that you've lost. There’s no need to be sore losers. Hanamaki Sumire: I'm going to be happy, with the best person in the world by my side. Nikaidou Yamato: ...Best person in the world, you say? Hanamaki Sumire: ....... Hanamaki Sumire: I'm going home. Thanks for tonight.
Woman: Hey, did you see the news? Woman: I did. He's from TRIGGER, right...? Woman: They were really going off on him on TV.... I don't think what he did was that bad, honestly.... Woman: I feel so bad for Sumire-chan. Didn't her agency get in the way of her marrying Tsunashi-san too?
Okazaki Rinto: Good morning, Anesagi-san. Takanashi Tsumugi: Are you okay? I heard about Tsunashi-san.... Anesagi Kaoru: Oh.... You two.... It's really bad. The president is starting to get nervous.... Okazaki Rinto: I'm sure President Yaotome's scared too. Up until this point, Tsukumo was the one getting aid, but now they’re up against them.... Anesagi Kaoru: And we used to be on such good terms with the media too! We were so certain we'd win against Tsukumo, and yet.... The instant we try, it's like we opened Pandora's box.... (5) Okazaki Rinto: Everyone has turned to their side.... Takanashi Tsumugi: Does Tsukumo really have that much influence? Even more so than TRIGGER as a popular idol group, or Yaotome Productions...? Anesagi Kaoru: They used to be one of the two great empires, you know? I definitely feel like they've gotten stronger lately. Maybe it's because they switched to a new president.... (6) Anesagi Kaoru: TRIGGER has been getting fewer and fewer commercial and show offers.... It's almost like they knew this was going to happen, and that's just terrifying to think about....
Tsukumo Ryou: La la la~ The death of a hero: TRIGGER.... The more noble an existence, the deeper the fall is from favor because of a scandal. Tsukumo Ryou: However, people will still wish for a hero. Fear not-- I have one prepared. Tsukumo Ryou: ŹOOĻ. It's your time to shine.
To be continued....
TL Notes/comments:
THANKS KURI 4 PROOFREADING!!
The title is literally "preparing to usurp" bUT given TRG's whole ~royalty~ theme (王者観) i figured what I went with was also pretty fitting!
HOWEVER i keep getting conflicting answers on how to capitalize (AND SPELL) this word so uh, ,,, i........ oops (hmu if the last 2 are supposed to be capitalized??? is it D'etat or D'Etat???? Sorry)
(1) The legal age to do a bunch of stuff (drink, etc) is 20 in Japan. The coming of age ceremony is also a thing that takes place like in January of the year u turn 20 so anyone under that age is technically a minor. Hence, because of the nature of the incident this time (w/ allegations about ryuu/hanamaki being ~lovers~ and overall that kind of illicit undertone driving the supposed agency switch), Ryuu doesn't want any of that tied to nagi Because he is a minor in Japan, even though he'd be considered an adult in the Western sphere. (2) beginning the line prior, they're doing some weird extended plane metaphor. don't mind me shoving in extra words 2 make it extra obvious they're talking abt Planes and Aircrafts and Aviation (3) just, save urself my terrible explanation and read this (4) 玉砕覚悟 = literally 'have the resolve to die an honorable death in battle' (5) 蜜月状態 - literally means honeymoon situation LOL, that and i subbed in pandora's box for the 'the instant we try peeking at what's under the lid'
As usual, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!
Thank you for reading!!

Producer Letter #14
Same old 80% translation, 20% paraphrase mix as usual. Hit the jump to read more!
To everyone supporting Idolish Seven,
This marks the first producer letter of 2018! We have just finished releasing Part 3 in the game, and episode 15 marks the end of our regular airing schedule for the TV anime. (TL Note: no fear, the anime's not over yet! more on this later)
The Idolish Seven Exhibit has been open for about half a year following our second anniversary, and the exhibit closed yesterday. We are very happy that we were able to tour various cities with everyone's help, and we thank everyone for your support!
There is currently an event going on at VR ZONE called "PRISM NIGHT", hi-resolution versions of our music* are available at SONY, and our idols will be acting as the advertising representatives for JR Tokai Tours's "OFF/Journey Campaign!"
We are happy that our talents are getting so much work, and we truly feel as if we've taken a step towards the future we envision for our project.
PRISM NIGHT SONY Hi-res Audio  JR Tokai Tours
*TL Note: not sure if this encompasses the entire i7 discography but a side note, "hi-res audio" refers to .flac files aka God Tier Lossless A+++ Sound Quality, whereas most tracks available for digital download are in mp3 or m4a format, which are great but not fully lossless! I actually can't watch the video rn because I'm a fool and forgot my earbuds but I believe that is what's going on!
Today, we'd like to talk about the following topics...
【The Project as a Whole】
◆ Part 3
Thank you for walking alongside our idols all the way from April 27th, 2017 through Chapter 20!
We've received continuous support ever since we started releasing Part 3, and we are truly happy we were able to deliver all of Part 3 to everyone without fail.
Part 3 is a turning point within the work, as we've stated in previous producer letters, and the characters have undergone various changes as they confronted hardships and advanced forward within the story.
It took a long time to deliver all of Part 3, and we'd like to thank you for your patience from the bottom of our hearts. Although it took a long time, we've gleaned equal amounts of confidence and were able to present a lot of stories and carefully craft the songs as a result.
We hope to continue crafting this project with the utmost care, and we thank you for your continued support.
◆ The Anime
Looking back, we spent about a year working on the anime script with TROYCA. As for the anime series composition, the last episode of the anime’s regular broadcast aired yesterday with episode 15.
The image of Director Bessho declaring, "Let's do a good job on episode 15*, and make episodes 16 and 17 one episode!" still firmly remains in my memory. While I cannot go into great detail as some of you may not have watched episode 15 yet, we firmly believe that viewers will be able to enjoy episodes 16+17 precisely because of everything that has happened thus far and because of everything that we have built up through episode 15.
We hope you keep watching until the end!
Episode 16・17 will be broadcast during the following dates and times (JST):
TOKYO MX 2018/5/19 Saturday, 19:30~ KBS Kyoto 2018/5/22 Tuesday, 23:00~ Sun TV 2018/5/22 Tuesday, late night 1:30~ TV Aichi 2018/5/20 Sunday, scheduled for late night broadcast TV Hokkaido 2018/5/19 Saturday, scheduled for late night broadcast TVQ Kyushu Broadcast 2018/5/20 Sunday, late night 3:35~ BS11 2018/5/24 Thursday, late night 1:30~
※ In the case that any changes are made to the broadcasting schedule, please check the TV anime's official site or the official Twitter for the anime.
Volumes 1 and 2 of the Blu-ray/DVD are currently on sale as well!
◆ 1st LIVE 『Road To Infinity」
We announced this concert back in January of this year, and holding this concert is one of our many dreams regarding this project.
It has been in planning for two years now, and it is thanks to the anime production committee that we are able to have our idols take such a grand stage. Not just that, we are truly overjoyed that we have the opportunity to have all three groups (IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, Re:vale) perform live together.
We have one more important announcement to make regarding the concert!
People who have cleared a certain requiremnet in-game will be given the opportunity to enter the lottery for concert tickets. We will be revealing more details on this soon.
The campaign start time, requirements, and specific website for this campaign can be found via "In-game Announcements" and we plan on releasing this soon. Please remember to log into your game, and we hope you look forward to it!
◆ Fan Thanksgiiving Event* *TL Note: kanshasai for anyone used to the romaji form
We started holding these events back in 2017, and this time we'll be holding Volume 3 of "Kimi to Motto ×2 Ai wo Kataranai to!"
Additionally, we will be holding live viewing sessions for Vol. 3, and we hope to have tons of fans enjoying the event in real-time!
Live Viewing Ticket Reservation Time Period April 7th, Saturday, 12:00 (JST) - April 22nd, Sunday, 23:59 (JST)
More details can be found here at the official site!
◆ Music
How is everyone enjoying the songs from the anime?
We've included tons of surprises so all fans, both new and old, can enjoy the anime!
We would be delighted if people became more interested in the world of Idolish Seven because of the songs that adorn the franchise!
Additionally, the BGM for each scene from the TV anime will be included in the OST, "SOUND OF RAiNBOW" (on sale April 25th, 2018)!
There are two comprehensive CDs filled with songs, so we hope you purchase it!
Furthermore, "Nanatsuiro REALiZE" by IDOLiSH7, the last unlockable song from Part 3 of the game story, will be on sale on June 20th, 2018.
We have also started on the "12 SONGS GIFT" series of birthday songs for each idol, and we thank everyone for the high praise it has received.
We hope everyone continues to enjoy this series as we show more sides to each idol, and we will be doing our best to ensure this.
◆ Music Videos
The full version of the music video MAPPA produced for us has been released, and we hope everyone watches it!
Additionally, TRIGGER's newest music video, "DIAMOND FUSION," will also be released soon.
We hope to continue to create more videos for everyone's enjoyment, so please look forward to it.
"Nanatsuiro REALiZE" marks the 7th installment in the Idolish Seven Music Video Animation Project. We hope to deliver more to everyone and try a different format from YouTube, so we hope everyone looks forward to it!
◆ Comicalization & Novelization
We will soon be finishing up the comicalization of "Banri Ikkuu!"
"Senko Fuma" and "Hyakusai Mukyuu" will also be released for a limited time only on Hakusensha Novels, and we also intend on comicalizing these parts as well.
We thank you for your continued support!
【About the Game】
We hope everyone is enjoying the game alongside the anime!
We have tons of new songs, events, and scouts prepared. The anime's finale will be airing soon, and we hope everyone will enjoy it!
【Future Game Adjustments & Additions】
◆ Events
As we mentioned in the previous Producer Letter, we are focusing up on making the game easier to understand. For example, clearing up which items are necessary for helping your idols grow and where to get them, what the requirements are for moving an idol to the Waiting Room, etc.
As we approach the two and a half year mark, we hope to make game functions and each type of event easier to understand, and improve upon each.
With regards to this topic, we will be giving more details through each subsequent update, in-game announcements, and the official twitter rather than here in this letter.
◆ Questions, Comments, or Concerns about the Game In the case that you would like to express your opinion to the staff, please contact us through the official site.
Thank you for reading all the way through this letter!
I'm sure some of you may be thinking, "You didn't answer my question!!"
But in response to that, there's one thing we'd like to promise you:
We guarantee that we will deliver only the best to you!
Last but not least, we would like to thank all of our hardworking staff, and we hope to continue working with everyone.
Let's all watch the anime! And let's all play Ainana!
TL Notes/comments:
I, too, would like to thank everyone for reading this far too! I am a day later than I would’ve liked for putting this out, so thank you for guys your patience.
As for other translation stuff, 9.5 will be posted later today and Chapter 10 is currently in the works! Now that Part 3 is over, I can finally catch up without fear of the next part dropping! Woohoo!!!!
As always, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, do not hesitate to drop me an ask! I don’t check tumblr chat messages as often, so if you’d like to bring something to my immediate attention, the best avenue to do that is via askbox!
Once more, thank you for reading!

Translation below the cut!
Thorvald: Good evening. Sorry to interrupt in the middle of a meal. I would like to offer a suggestion to everyone. Thorvald: How do you feel about setting up surveillance cameras in this room? IDOLiSH7: No! Izumi Mitsuki: You goddamn stalker! First you follow Nagi around, then you come in and drink our miso soup, and now you wanna set up cameras!? Nikaidou Yamato: You’re mighty bold for a stalker! Like hell we'd say yes to that! Thorvald: It is only reasonable for all of you to react that way. Very well. I shall be bringing Nagi-san back to Northmare with me then. IDOLiSH7: What!? Yotsuba Tamaki: He! He's tryna kidnap Nagicchi! Nanase Riku: We would never hand Nagi over to a stalker! Sougo-san, do you see anything that'd work as a weapon? Osaka Sougo: ......Here, take this! Izumi Mitsuki: You can't just throw glass pots around! That one’s expensive! *door opens* Rokuya Nagi: Thorvald.... Oh! What's the matter, everyone!? Nanase Riku: This dude's been stalking you, hasn't he! Rokuya Nagi: Well, if you were to call him a stalker you would not be wrong, but.... He is not the stalker I spoke of the other day.... Nikaidou Yamato: Y’know.... You’ve got an awful lot of stalkers.... Rokuya Nagi: Hm.... I am quite a sinful man, if I do say so myself. Thorvald: You misunderstand. I am not stalking Nagi-san in the slightest, I-- Ah.... Yotsuba Tamaki: ......!? A bunch of stuff just fell outta his pocket! Izumi Mitsuki: And they're all pictures of Nagi...! Nanase Riku: He has pictures of Nagi as a kid too! He's a veteran stalker!! Izumi Iori: ......This picture.... It must've been taken in a rather luxurious mansion.... Ah.... Rokuya Nagi: Thanks, Iori. Rokuya Nagi: Dropping pictures of my face to the ground is rather impolite, Thorvald, is it not? Thorvald: I apologize for the unacceptable behavior-- Ah.... Sorry, Nagi-san. Rokuya Nagi: In spite of the fact that you are behaving in a manner unbefitting of a subject of Northmare, you dare to warn me? I declare hereafter.... (1) Rokuya Nagi: ....... Izumi Mitsuki: Oh.... They started talking in Northmarean.... Nikaidou Yamato: I have no clue what they're talking about.... If they were talking in English, at least I'd have some idea of what's going on.... Nanase Riku: Nagi, are you sure you don't need to contact the police? He really isn't a stalker? Rokuya Nagi: ....... It is alright. Do not worry, he will be going home now. Thorvald: Thank you for the dinner, it was very delicious. Thank you for having me over. Thorvald: Nagi-san. You can only defer for so long. You are running out of time. Rokuya Nagi: All because the entire lot of you are incompetent. Thorvald: That is, unfortunately, painfully through. (2) Yotsuba Tamaki: You mean, 'painfully true?' Thorvald: That is, unfortunately, painfully true. Good night. May you have splendid dreams. *door closes* Izumi Mitsuki: ....... He came and went like a storm. Man, what a guest.... Rokuya Nagi: A storm would have been more well-mannered than him. Nikaidou Yamato: Nagi, are you really okay...? What the hell is this stalker business? And why didn't you tell me about it? Rokuya Nagi: He is my otaku friend. I was only jesting when I called him a stalker. Nikaidou Yamato: Why'd he break the window, then? Rokuya Nagi: Perhaps he got a little carried away in his excitement. He's in a foreign country, after all. (3) Yotsuba Tamaki: Really? Like, he said he was gonna take you with him back to Northmare and stuff.... Rokuya Nagi: Don't worry. He was just copying something from an anime. Izumi Mitsuki: You're positive everything's okay, right? You're not gonna get stabbed by some weirdo outta nowhere, right? Rokuya Nagi: Oh! My friend! Thank you for worrying about me! I am very happy! Rokuya Nagi: I am alright. If there is ever a night where I cannot sleep, kept awake by my fear, I'll take my Kokona DVD with me and go to your room. Rokuya Nagi: Why don’t we watch it right now! Let's turn on the TV.... Oh.... TV News: Weekly magazines have been publishing a special scoop on TRIGGER's Tsunashi Ryuunosuke-san and Hanamaki Sumire-san! Just what kind of relationship do they have? Nanase Riku: Tsunashi-san...?
Reporter: Tsunashi-san, is it true you invited Hanamaki-san to join Yaotome Productions? Reporter: And when did you get so close to her? Anesagi Kaoru: Please let us through. Ryuu, hurry up! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Sorry. I’m afraid can't answer that.
Man: Did you hear? Apparently Yaotome Productions just went and snatched up Tsukumo Production's top seller! It was all over the news! Woman: He's being super ungrateful to both agencies! I bet he just wanted to get his girl into the same agency as him, that’s all. Man: Nah, I don’t think so. She was gonna be TRIGGER's rival at Black or White, so he seduced her and made her fall for him!
Yaotome Gaku: Ryuu's getting unilaterally bashed.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I'm really sorry.... I didn't know this was going to happen.... Yaotome Gaku: You didn't do anything wrong. You've been politely declining interviews and doing the usual stuff! Yeah? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Yeah.... But it feels different this time around.... Yaotome Gaku: How so? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: The interviewers are really.... Aggressive. It's like they're on the offensive. Yaotome Gaku: ......The articles are like that too.... They've said all sorts of things about us, but this is the first time they're being so blatant. *door opens* Yuki: Is everyone here? Kujou Ten: Yuki-san.... Momo: Ryuunosuke, I'm sorry! I'm really sorry! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: What's wrong, Momo-san? Momo: I know I texted you about it, but all of this is my fault, Ryuu! Yaotome Gaku: What do you mean......?
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Modern-day Chiba Salon...? And I'm the one who’s supposedly managing it...? Momo: Ryou-san's got it all wrong. He's trying to get all of the power in the industry right now, and one of the things that'd get in his way is organizations. Momo: Power is like a game of Othello. You get people to turn to your side, little by little, bit by bit. Momo: If one or two people protested, they wouldn't stand a chance. But if all of those people teamed up.... No one would have to turn to his side and they'd all be able to resist. Momo: I gathered all my friends together so we could have fun, but he probably thinks we're that kind of organization. Yaotome Gaku: But isn't that weird? If anything, he should be gunning for you and not Ryuu, Momo-san. Momo: That's true.... Have you ever done something that he'd bear a grudge against you for? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Me!? I don't think so.... Kujou Ten: People don't usually hold grudges against Ryuu. He's not that type of person. What about you, Momo-san? Yaotome Gaku: Alright, hear me out. I'm only asking this because we don't want to doubt your innocence, not because we suspect you. But you're not on the same team as Tsukumo Ryou, right? Momo: Of course not! If it came down to attacking Ryuu, then I'd rather send an assassin to off myself! Yuki: Momo would never betray you guys. Momo: Yuki...! Yaotome Gaku: And why can you say that so confidently? Yuki: Because he'd never do something that'd make me hate him. Right? Momo: I swear on that. Kujou Ten: I think so too. Gaku, you’re being rude. They've looked after us all this time. Yaotome Gaku: I said it was just in case! Yuki: Well, how about you, Gaku-kun and Ten-kun? Have either of you ever done something to incur Tsukumo's wrath? Kujou Ten: ...This has nothing to do with President Tsukumo, but there's a boy who sees me as his enemy. Yaotome Gaku: What's he like? Kujou Ten: ......He's one of the kids Kujou-san took care of. Yuki: Kujou, again......? Kujou Ten: ....... Yuki: Well, whatever. As long as you're happy with Kujou-san. Kujou Ten: If there's something you'd like to say, please speak. Yuki: Ten-kun, are you a masochist? Momo: Yuki, that’s a little too direct! Kujou Ten: I don't really understand, but just know that I'm a sadist when it comes to senpai who ask inconsiderate questions. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Ten, that’s pushing it a bit! You might actually start a fight with him! Yaotome Gaku: Well, we can't help it. Ryuu, you were set up by that woman. We just gotta prove that. Yaotome Gaku: Is there anyone who could prove it? Was there anyone else who was there? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ......Ah. Yaotome Gaku: There was!? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: There was.... But given the situation and the fact that Tsukumo's definitely got something up his sleeve, I can't get them involved. Yaotome Gaku: This isn't the time for that shit! We're gonna get their testimony and prove your innocence! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I can't. I won't tell you. Momo: Wait, is it.... Your girlfriend? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: N-no! Yaotome Gaku: What the hell? You should've told us you were dating someone! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I'm not! Yuki: Of course he wouldn't want to get his girlfriend involved. What kind of girl is she? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I'm telling you guys, it's not a girl! Kujou Ten: If that's the case, then why don't you tell us who it is? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Yeah, but.... I don't want to get him involved.... Yuki: Fine. So be it. Momo, Gaku-kun. Hold him down. Yaotome Gaku: What are you gonna do? Yuki: Torture him. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Torture!? Huh? Wait-- Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Ahahaha! Ah! Stop! Stop it! Ahaha! It tickles! Ahahaha! I, I can't take it anymore! Kujou Ten: How merciless.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Ahahaha! Ahahahaha! Okay! Okay! I give up! I'll talk!
To be continued....

THORVALD IS THE GODDAMN FUckIng drops 2098042 pcitures meme I CANT BELIEVe
(1) this bit kind of goes on for a bit without any real subject so i just tried 2 make it sound as official as possible (2) alright there's a japanese saying/kotowaza that goes 'mimi ga itai' (lit. my ear hurts) which applies to anything that has been said over and over to you to the point where you're tired of hearing OR something that is painfully true. Thorvald says 'mimi ga nigai' (lit. my ear is bitter) LOL (3) literally he says 'hustle' but clearly some katakana-eigo is at work because with every example sentence I read the more i was like 'yeeeeeeeah hustle does not mean what it means in english in japanese'
As usual, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!

Yaotome Gaku: Ah.... Takanashi Tsumugi: Gaku-san.... Good morning. Yaotome Gaku: ....... Do you have time right now? There's something I needa tell you. Takanashi Tsumugi: Huh? Yaotome Gaku: How about we got to a restaurant-- No, that'd be bad. Or my car-- No, not that. And my place-- Would definitely be bad.... Yaotome Gaku: Alright. Let's borrow that meeting room for a bit. We shouldn't be alone either. We gotta have somebody else.... Nanase Riku: Manager! And Yaotome-san! Yaotome Gaku: Nanase, huh. Perfect timing. Come with us. Nanase Riku: Huh? Okay!
Tumblr media
Nanase Riku: What's going on? Why are we talking in a place like this...? Yaotome Gaku: ....... There's been a shit ton of people trying to start rumors about us. Nanase Riku: Huh!? Takanashi Tsumugi: ......I felt it too. Nanase Riku: What!? Yaotome Gaku: ......This is my fault. Ten's scolded me about this before, but my feelings show on my face really easily. Yaotome Gaku: I think I really like you. Takanashi Tsumugi: ....... Nanase Riku: W-what!? Yaotome Gaku: Sorry, Nanase, but could you shut up for a bit? Nanase Riku: T-there's no way I could shut up right now! What do you mean you 'really like' our manager? Does that mean.... You.... Yaotome Gaku: I said, shut up. Nanase Riku: She's our manager though!? Yaotome Gaku: ......I know. Yaotome Gaku: I'm sorry. Takanashi Tsumugi: ....... Yaotome Gaku: I'm gonna contact you less for the time being so I don't cause any more trouble for you. I won't call out to you when I see you around too. Yaotome Gaku: Sorry I'm making you do all of this. Takanashi Tsumugi: Please don't apologize. If anything, I'm one who was careless. Takanashi Tsumugi: I was just so happy that we got closer.... I can't believe I caused trouble for a talent when I work at an agency and should know better.... I'm such an idiot.... Nanase Riku: Manager.... Takanashi Tsumugi: I'll keep on supporting TRIGGER. I always will be. Takanashi Tsumugi: And just as always, please treat IDOLiSH7 well whenever you guys work together. Yaotome Gaku: Will do. Yaotome Gaku: That's all I had to say. Sorry for taking up your time too, Nanase. Nanase Riku: ....... No, not at all.... *door closes*
Takanashi Tsumugi: ....... Takanashi Tsumugi: ......I'm really sorry, Riku-san. Nanase Riku: Don't worry about it. ...Are you okay? Takanashi Tsumugi: I am. Ah.... We should leave this room soon. I wouldn't want you to be the subject of misunderstandings too, Riku-san. Nanase Riku: ....... Takanashi Tsumugi: ...... If.... If only I were a man….
Blonde Young Man: Nice to meet you. I'm Rokuya Nagi-san's otaku friend, Thorvald. Thorvald: Please allow me to confirm the safety and security of these living premises while I discuss Magical☆Kokona with Nagi-san. Izumi Mitsuki: Safety and security...? Do you really need that when all you're doing is talking about anime? Rokuya Nagi: One of the characters in Magical☆Kokona lives in a dorm, so he wants to experience that for himself. Rokuya Nagi: He'll be leaving when our otaku meeting ends, but for the time being, I do apologize for all the trouble. Izumi Mitsuki: Don't sweat it. Yamato-san and I are the only people here right now, so take your time! Yeah? Nikaidou Yamato: Yeah. Do you guys want anything to eat? Rokuya Nagi: Oh, no. That will not be necessary-- Thorvald: Absolutely! I would be delighted to partake in a meal here.
Izumi Mitsuki: Ah, I forgot to ask him if he'd like Japanese food or Western food. Nikaidou Yamato: Onii-san here would love to have Japanese food. I think our guest would be happy with that too. Izumi Mitsuki: Alright, then. I'll start up the miso soup then.... Woah!? Nikaidou Yamato: Man, they're yelling pretty loudly. What language is this? Northmarean? Izumi Mitsuki: Otaku meetings are a lot more intense than we thought. Izumi Mitsuki: Nagi did say that this guy's his friend from Northmare, so we can probably get him to tell us what Nagi was like back then at dinnertime! I can't wait.... *door opens*  Thorvald: I apologize for the intrusion. Izumi Mitsuki: Huh!? You're going home already? Thorvald: No. I'll be back once I prove just how low the security standards are for this building. Izumi Mitsuki: ...What? Thorvald: See you later. *door closes* Nikaidou Yamato: What was he talking about......? Rokuya Nagi: --Where did he go? Nikaidou Yamato: He just went out the front door. Said he'd be back in a bit, though. Rokuya Nagi: ......Jesus. Listen. Both of you need to stay close to me. Nikaidou Yamato: What? Izumi Mitsuki: Woah, did the lights just go out? Is this a blackout? *shatter*  Nikaidou Yamato: Uh? What was that? Did one of the windows break!? *slam* Nikaidou Yamato: Huh!? Rokuya Nagi: Mitsuki! Yamato! *slam* Rokuya Nagi: ......!? Thorvald: Alright. Thank you for your cooperation. I'm going to turn on my flashlight. Izumi Mitsuki: Ugh, it's so bright! ......!? Izumi Mitsuki: Nagi, are you ok!? Izumi Mitsuki: Also, when did you get on top of your otaku buddy!? Rokuya Nagi: ......No problem. Thorvald: As you can see, the security is extremely lacking in these living quarters. Do you understand now? Nikaidou Yamato: If you guys are gonna play survival games, do it outside! What are we gonna do about this window....
Yotsuba Tamaki: I'm home. What happened to that window? Did Sou-chan do something to it? Osaka Sougo: Do you mind explaining why you singled me out and offered up my name regarding this incident? Izumi Mitsuki: Basically, Nagi and his otaku friend started playing survival games outta nowhere. Man, we really had our hands full when security came. Izumi Iori: Is his friend from Northmare in his room right now? Nikaidou Yamato: Yep, yep. They got super heated up talking about anime. Whatever language Nagi's people speak, it sounds super scary when they're mad. Riku. Nanase Riku: ....... Nikaidou Yamato: Riku? You ok? Nanase Riku: Y-yeah.... Nanase Riku: Oh! That reminds me, Nagi said he had a stalker in Northmare. Did he ever bring that up to you guys? Izumi Mitsuki: Stalker......? Yotsuba Tamaki: Ohh. That's why we upped the security. Remember? We changed out the windows. Nikaidou Yamato: Stalker, you say...? Why didn't anyone tell us about something so important! Not just Nagi, you too! Yotsuba Tamaki: Oh yeah? Well maybe I didn't have the chance to because somebody got in a fight and stormed outta the house! Nanase Riku: That's right! If you guys hadn't fought, we could've talked about it together in the dorm! Yotsuba Tamaki・Nanase Riku: Apologize! Nikaidou Yamato・Izumi Mitsuki: Sorry.... Izumi Iori: Wait.... Hold on. Isn't there a chance that the person here right now is the stalker in question? Izumi Mitsuki: Huh? Nikaidou Yamato: No way.... A stalker wouldn't come in and have dinner with us, right...? *door opens* Thorvald: Good evening. Sorry to interrupt in the middle of a meal. I would like to offer a suggestion to everyone. Thorvald: How do you feel about setting up surveillance cameras in this room?
To be continued....

Translation below the cut!
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: You're going to quit, Hanamaki-san? But your CDs sell so well and you've got so many collaborations going on.... Hanamaki Sumire: ....... ...... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Oh, my agency's calling me. Sorry, do you mind if I-- Hanamaki Sumire: I want to keep going! I really do... But not at my current agency-- I just can't do it anymore. I feel like I've become nothing more than a robot, working from dawn to dusk.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... Hanamaki Sumire: And they told me if I went to another agency, they'd make it so I would never be able to sing ever again.... I just don't know what to do.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: That's awful.... Which agency is this? Hanamaki Sumire: Tsukumo Productions.... Tsunashi-san, I'm begging you.... Could you come with me when I go talk to them? Please.... Hanamaki Sumire: They're all going to yell at me... And I'm so scared.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Of course. If it's just that, then gladly. Rokuya Nagi: Oh.... Please wipe those tears away, my girl. There is nothing to be distressed about, o' beautiful one. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Nagi-kun!? Where in the world did you come from! Hanamaki Sumire: Nagi-kun!? Of IDOLiSH7!? Rokuya Nagi: I finished my pilgrimage so I decided to take a break at this cafe, and happened to stumble upon your conversation. Rokuya Nagi: Back in my home country, the mere existence of a company that fails to uphold the rights of working women is unforgivable. Your rights ought to be protected. Hanamaki Sumire: Um.... I, uh.... Rokuya Nagi: Allow me to act as your agent. I will go and negotiate matters with your production agency right this instant. Hanamaki Sumire: Wait.... What!? Rokuya Nagi: Shall we? (2) Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Wait! Wait, Nagi-kun!?
Rokuya Nagi: Oh, I can't seem to catch a taxi. If I were a pegasus, I could've taken your weary self upon my back and flown to our destination. Hanamaki Sumire: So, you're going to negotiate for me, Nagi-kun? Not.... Tsunashi-san......? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Wait up, Nagi-kun! I agree with what you're saying, but you can't jump into something like this looking to pick a fight! Rokuya Nagi: Her agency is putting her, a woman all by herself, through so much strife. All because she simply wished to have a say in her work. Any gentleman in his right mind would fight for her sake. Hanamaki Sumire: Um.... I.... If someone's going to fight for me I'd rather it be Tsunashi-san and not you, Nagi-kun.... Otherwise I'll be quite troubled-- Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I never said I wasn't going to fight! If you're really a gentleman, then maybe calm down a bit first? You're getting pretty worked up about this. Rokuya Nagi: How rude! I am nothing but calm and composed right now. What you call prudence is nothing more than a coward's excuse. People may call you 'beast,' but perhaps you ought to call yourself 'chicken' instead. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Hey, that's not very nice! But I'm not gonna argue with you right now. The culture here is different compared to where you're from, Nagi-kun. Just because you're right doesn't mean you can keep insisting on something and force people into-- Rokuya Nagi: Japan is a civilized nation, is it not? Don't tell me you’d rather side with the barbarians who force women into cruel, grueling labor? Hanamaki Sumire: Nagi-kun, please stop! I just want to talk it out with my agency. Quietly and peacefully. That's why I want Tsunashi-san to come with me.... Rokuya Nagi: Fear not, o' beautiful one.... I will conduct myself with the utmost elegance and refinement. I would never do anything to tarnish your future. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Ah, right.... You did a really superb job at that press conference! If anything, you're way better at negotiating stuff than I am, Nagi-kun. Rokuya Nagi: I see you finally remember. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: What a relief! Well, with that said, Hanamaki-san-- Hanamaki Sumire: No! This won't do! It has to be Tsunashi-san! Rokuya Nagi・Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ...Why me? Rokuya Nagi: ...And for what reason? Hanamaki Sumire: I.... Because.... Because he's my type.... Rokuya Nagi: Oh, I am wounded by your words! Terribly, terribly wounded! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Aw, thanks.... I'm kinda embarrassed now-- Wait, no, no! Nagi-kun’s more geared for this type of stuff. I have this habit of saying weird stuff when I get pissed off. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Nagi-kun, please take care of her. See you later-- Hanamaki Sumire: Wait! Um, I.... I'm going to call my manager right now! Can you talk to them in my place? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Right now!? That's really proactive of you, but that was a little out of nowhere! Hanamaki Sumire: Nagi-kun, thank you! You can go now! Go over there...! Rokuya Nagi: Oh. My. God. I've never been rejected in my entire life. I feel so, so depressed.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I think you're way cooler than me, Nagi-kun! You're beautiful, you've got a great body, and the color of your eyes is especially-- Rokuya Nagi: Shut up! I don't want your pity! No thank you! I am not an ounce happier hearing praise from a man! Hanamaki Sumire: They picked up! Here, Tsunashi-san...! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: O-oh, okay. ...Uh, hello? Nice to meet you, I'm TRIGGER's Tsunashi Ryuunosuke.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Yes. Hanamaki-san wanted to speak with her agency about quitting-- Ah, no-- Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Huh!? Wait, no.... Wait! What? No, that's not what I meant... Wait? Huh? Uh.... Hello!? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Hold on-- ....... Rokuya Nagi: Oh? ...What's the matter? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ......They said they're fine with voiding your contract, Hanamaki-san. And that Yaotome Productions should take responsibility-- Hanamaki Sumire: Yay! Thank you! You saved me, Tsunashi-san! I really owe you one! Please take care of me from here on out! Rokuya Nagi: To think that he'd succeed in negotiating such delicate matters in one phone call and in a matter of seconds.... Rokuya Nagi: After all these years, I have finally lost faith in my own charms.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ......Was it really because of my charms? Is it okay if I think that? Wait, but that's not-- Hanamaki Sumire: I'm begging you, Tsunashi-san! Please help me! I don't have anywhere to go! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ....... Rokuya Nagi: This is utter defeat. Please make her happy, Tsunashi-shi.... Rokuya Nagi: Adieu. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: W-wait, Nagi-kun! Don't you think something's a little off...? Rokuya Nagi: Oh! Excellent question. A beautiful woman chose to depend upon you, and not me. The world must be amiss, is it not? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: That's not what I was talking about.... Blonde Young Man: Nagi-san! Rokuya Nagi: ....... Blonde Young Man: I've been looking for you. Blonde Young Man: You informed me that we would be meeting in Akihabara, but you shook me off on purpose, didn't you? Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: An acquaintance? Rokuya Nagi: ......Yes. Of the troublesome variety. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: ......? Blonde Young Man: Nagi-san. Please take me to your dormitory. Just as you promised.
Yaotome Sousuke: Hanamaki Sumire wants to switch over to our agency!? Anesagi Kaoru: Yes. Yaotome Sousuke: As if we could sign a contract with a ticking time bomb like her! If we put her out there, we'll incur the wrath of everyone in the industry. If we don't, then we'll get backlash from the fans. Yaotome Sousuke: However, I am quite thankful that Tsukumo's lost their top seller. That damn Tsukumo gotten awfully full of himself, even though he's an old geezer now. All of this is a direct result of that. Yaotome Sousuke: Where is she right now? Anesagi Kaoru: I sent her home. Nothing good will come out of keeping her here if we're not going to have her sign with us. Yaotome Sousuke: You let her go? Just like that? She must've done something strange to Ryuunosuke. Have somebody monitor her activity! Anesagi Kaoru: President! We're in trouble! Yaotome Sousuke: What is it? Anesagi Kaoru: She just announced that she's switching over from Tsukumo Pro. to Yaotome Pro. on her blog! And that the deal is almost settled! Yaotome Sousuke: Goddamn it! Is Ryuunosuke's name there? Anesagi Kaoru: It is. "I’d like to thank Tsunashi Ryuunosuke-san from the bottom of my heart for helping me out..." Yaotome Sousuke: She must've intended on dragging Yaotome Productions and Ryuunosuke into this issue then!
To be continued....
TL Notes/comments:
THANKS @kuriiii FOR PROOFREADING!!! I AM FINALLY ON BREAK AKA I HAVE TIME TO DO STUFF WOOHOO! ! !
The title literally translates to 'trap flower' or 'flower of trap' but I wanted it to sound snazzier so here we are LOL
(1) 聖地巡礼 (seichi junrei, lit. pilgrimage or visiting holy grounds) refers to the act of going to the irl equivalent of locations of landmarks, views, or even objects that you saw in a game/anime aka Anime Tourism. Examples of this would be people visiting Karatsu (the irl equivalent of Hasetsu from Yuri on Ice), Iwami (irl equivalent of Iwatobi from Free!), Shinsengumi-related-franchise fans paying respects at Hijikata Toshizo's grave, i7 fans visiting the University of Southern California (WHICH IS FEATURED IN THE NANAIRO REALIZE MV)(sadly a little far from where I currently am) Anyways here's a cool article on pilgrimages! (2) I couldn't find a nice english equivalent for lit. “please give me your hand” that wouldn't have marriage-y implications so cue me frantically googling what people say when they offer their hands to u before like ballroom dancing or smth etcetc yeaH. So it’s more implied here than anything but hopefully that came across!!!!!
As usual, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!
Thank you for reading!!

SORRY I AM WORKING THROUGH MY BACKLOG AT GLACIAL SPEED BUT ANYWAYS SEEING HOW CH19 REFERENCED THIS SONG I FIGURED I SHOULD PROB POST IT
I THOUGHT IP OSTED IT BUT APPARENTLY NOT IM A DUMB GOLDFISH IT WAS FINISHED BUT JUST ROTTING TEHRE IN MY PASTBIN
ANYAWYS
SEEING OFFICIAL LYRICS HELPED SO MUCH WITH UNDERSTANDING WHICH LINES ARE A PHRASE AND WHICH LINES ARENT, also seeing the Actual Correct Lyrics helps a lot with some of the weird phrases I had no clue what to do w/ when I did it by ear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In case it wasn't clear, writing in the notes aka adding in the music to the lyrics is what they're talking about during Tamaki's first solo line! I had translated it literally as sound because I misheard kakitashite as kakidashite but if it's kakitashite (literally writing in additional stuff, like you would a postscript on a letter), then it makes a little more sense if it's musical notes and not like some weird synesthesia-type stuff like physically writing out sounds idk
BACK TO BUSINESS
Goddamn, This Song Is Beautiful
I combined the sougo-mitsuki + yamato-nagi line in first verse because I realize that makes more sense than both of them as stand-alone lines
NOW I KNOW WHAT KAKIKESU it is, 'erase' it is! somehow, this song is bittersweet, bleak yet hopeful......
the tears/scars line's last part is interp because the orig is just 'miteru'/watching, vague subject??
'Semete haru no ame ni nurenai you ni' - Just wanted to note that cherry blossoms tend to bloom, but scatter very quickly. They're very short-lived blossoms, and oftentimes the spring rain causes them to fall away as well. Anyways, I'm p sure that's what this line is referencing!
'Chiri isoida to shite mo' - I added in a bunch of words since chiriisogu = 'rush to scatter' (this is a cherry blossom reference) and I needed 2 get the point across man
I THINK IT'S VERY PERTINENT THAT YAMATO AND NAGI HAVE THE SOLOS THAT THEY DO IN THE LAST PART OF THE SONG, IN TERMS OF PART 3 PLOT...
For Yamato, think Part 3 Chapter 5........ BOYYyyyyyyyyy
also nagi’S LONG SOLO : ^ )  IN REF TO CH19
As always, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!

Translation below the cut!
Anesagi Kaoru: I feel like TRIGGER has been getting less and less work lately.... Well, it's not significantly less, but still. Anesagi Kaoru: They've been getting more one-time jobs and less regular positions. Maybe it's because all the TV shows are switching over for the new season? (1) Anesagi Kaoru: Just this month, however, we don't have any CM-related jobs for them. Yaotome Sousuke: It's because we continually turned down job offers after we added more dates for the Last Dimension musical, among various other things. Yaotome Sousuke: You better make them sell out. Anesagi Kaoru: Understood. But if we think about it this way, I'm glad they can get a little bit of rest in before the end of the year. Anesagi Kaoru: They barely got any breaks last year.... Oh? We have a visitor. Yaotome Sousuke: ....... *door opening* Tsukumo Ryou: Why, hello there, Yaotome-san. Thank you for the gift you got me the other day. Yaotome Sousuke: ......Well, if it isn't President Tsukumo. Congratulations on your promotion. The previous-- No, the former president's predecessor took very good care of me. Tsukumo Ryou: Not sure why you're telling me this, but I don’t mind if you feel indebted to me. Anyways, let's cut to the chase. Let's talk business. (2) Tsukumo Ryou: How much is TRIGGER? Yaotome Sousuke: .......
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I wonder if this place is good enough.... Ah, there she is! Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Good evening, Hanamaki-san. I'm sure Torao-kun has already introduced me to you, but I'm Tsunashi Ryuunosuke. I think we've met a couple times before because of work. Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Huh? Where's Torao-kun? Guess he's not here yet. Hanamaki Sumire: ....... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Are you okay...? You look really tired....... Hanamaki Sumire: I.... I want to go back to the countryside.... Hanamaki Sumire: I want to quit singing.... Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: .......
Yaotome Gaku: Good morni-- Tsumugi! Takanashi Tsumugi: Good morning. It's been a while since we last saw each other, Gaku-san! Yaotome Gaku: Yeah, long time no see. Are things settling down at the office? Takanashi Tsumugi: Yes. I just finished training the new hires, so I can finally go back to doing manager work! Takanashi Tsumugi: I look forward to working with you again, including the upcoming charity telethon. Yaotome Gaku: Yeah, same here-- Staff: See, look.... Staff: Oh my gosh, it's true.... Yaotome Gaku: What the hell...? They're staring real hard at us.... Yaotome Gaku: I look forward to working with you too, Takanashi-san. Anyways, I gotta go now. Takanashi Tsumugi: Alright, thank you for today! Yaotome Gaku: .......
Yaotome Sousuke: Haha. You must be joking. Yaotome Sousuke: TRIGGER is the main star of our agency. I'm terribly sorry, but we are not taking any offers for them. Tsukumo Ryou: Yaotome Productions couldn't have established itself as an independent agency without Tsukumo's help. If you turn me down, isn't that being a little... Ungrateful? Yaotome Sousuke: Well, if I did take on your offer, then everyone will see it as Tsukumo forcing Yaotome Productions to yield. Yaotome Sousuke: Both of these would cause quite unsavory rumors to spread. Tsukumo Ryou: Now, that I don't care about. Honestly speaking, I just want to scare everyone a little bit by seizing TRIGGER. Yaotome Sousuke: ....... Tsukumo Ryou: You see, I need fear on my side so I can do whatever I want. I’ll end it a way that'll send chills down everyone's spines. 'What!? No way, I can't that happened to the Yaotome Productions!' Just like that. Yaotome Sousuke: ......Tsukumo-san. Tsukumo Ryou: Everyone will ally themselves with Tsukumo Productions if Yaotome Productions is together with us. We'll even watch over you all and make sure nobody gets scorched. Tsukumo Ryou: That's just how power works. At first, everyone will be bursting with righteous indignation. 'How dare they! We'll never forgive them!' Tsukumo Ryou: But it's just like a game of Othello. As more and more people turn to my side, all of that courage will disappear and they will submit to me, one after another. Clink! Clink! Black, black, black. Tsukumo Ryou: Give TRIGGER to me. Don't worry, I'll show your son plenty of love. Yaotome Sousuke: Please leave, Tsukumo-san. Yaotome Sousuke: Anesagi! Show him out.  Anesagi Kaoru: Y-yes, sir.... Tsukumo Ryou: I take that as a no? Yaotome Sousuke: Do I have to spell it out for you to understand, you brat? ......Forgive me, that was rude of me. The exit is that way. Tsukumo Ryou: I saw a picture of you the other day, from back when you had first joined Tsukumo Productions. So, who was that beautiful young woman next to you in all of those photos? Yaotome Sousuke: I have heard all about you from Momo. Including the fact that you used to work in an business of unknown nature alongside hired muscle. Yaotome Sousuke: I hope you exercise some caution and make sure that doesn't become a scandal. Tsukumo Ryou: Oh? So you're close with Momo? I see, you must be part of the Sports Club too. Yaotome Sousuke: Sports club? Tsukumo Ryou: I'm gonna go home now. Thanks for the coffee! It tasted like dirt, so much to the point where I actually feel sorry for you. *slam* Yaotome Sousuke: ......Anesagi! Throw some salt!! Anesagi Kaoru: Are you sure about this...? Yaotome Sousuke: As if it matters right now! Anesagi Kaoru: Well, I vote no because I'm the one who has to clean it up later-- Yaotome Sousuke: I will personally vacuum it so hurry up and throw!! Anesagi Kaoru: O-okay! Yaotome Sousuke: Also, make sure you call him and tell him to come to our agency right this instant!
Producer: Ah, there you are. Takanashi-san! Takanashi Tsumugi: Good morning! Producer: So there's this new concept for a show I have in mind and I really wanna have TRIGGER's Yaotome-kun in it. How about the two of you come grab dinner with me some time? Takanashi Tsumugi: Oh, is this about work? I'm IDOLiSH7's manager, so.... Producer: See, here's the thing. Yaotome Productions turned me down. But weren't you super close with him during that party? I figured I'd get a good response from him if you were there. (3) Producer: It'd be dinner at a hotel serving French cuisine. If it really comes down to it, I can just conveniently leave too. So, how about it? Takanashi Tsumugi: I am terribly sorry, but negotiating work for another agency's talent is outside of my jurisdiction. Producer: Aw come on, you just have to sit there. That's all. Takanashi Tsumugi: I apologize, but I simply cannot accept this offer. More importantly, what was the idea you were thinking about? And would it be possible for IDOLiSH7 to do it? Producer: U-um....
Staff: Cut! Let's check the footage. Yaotome Gaku: ....... Stylist: Let me give you a quick touch-up, Yaotome-kun. Yaotome Gaku: Thank you. Stylist: Soo.... Is it true you're going for IDOLiSH7's manager? Yaotome Gaku: *cough* *cough* What are you talking about? Stylist: Oh come on, everyone knows. How about I set you guys up? Stylist: It's way too easy to get found out in Tokyo, but I could call her over when we're shooting somewhere away from the city and have her stay for a bit. Maybe you guys could have a little bit of fun. Yeah? Yaotome Gaku: ....... Yaotome Gaku: That was obvious as hell. Stylist: Huh? Yaotome Gaku: Who's paying you off? Is it another agency? Or is it the press, desperate for something to talk about? Stylist: ....... Yaotome Gaku: How about I do something fun with you instead? Who knows? Maybe you'll like having cameras chase you down, day after day. Yaotome Gaku: So tell me. What will it be? Stylist: Sorry, sorry. I was just kidding. No need to get mad. Yaotome Gaku: Hmph.
Momo・Yuki: Good evening, we're Re:vale! Yaotome Sousuke: You're here too, Yuki? ......I don't remember inviting you. Yuki: How cold. We were at the gym building up stamina together for the charity telethon. Momo: Yuki looks super handsome when he's exercising! He even swam 25 meters down the pool! Yuki: I swam 25 meters. Yaotome Sousuke: My son did that when he was in the first grade. Yaotome Sousuke: I called you over because of Tsukumo Ryou. You were close to him, Momo. Correct? Yuki: ......So you're still hanging out with him? Momo: I'm not!! Yaotome Sousuke: Momo. There's something I'd like to ask you. Have we ever done sports together? Momo: Sports? I don't think so. I invited you out for a round of golf and you never came. Yaotome Sousuke: At the slightest hint that you and I were close, Tsukumo asked me if I was in the Sports Club. Momo: Ah.... Basically it's a bunch of people who come together and play sports together from time to time, both entertainers and people in the industry. Momo: You can really get a feel for a person when you play games or sports with them! Like, there’s people who care more about the atmosphere than winning, people who blame others for mistakes, and people who have a really broad perspective on things. Momo: And if you get closer to them on a daily basis, then you'll know if anything happens in the studio just from their face. Like 'Oh, that dude's one of those people. Watch out.' So on, so forth. Yuki: Ryuunosuke-kun and Mitsuki-kun kicked off the Idol Sports Club with him pretty recently. Yaotome Sousuke: There it is. Momo: What is? Yaotome Sousuke: Do you understand why Tsukumo tried to get close to you? Momo: I really don't know. Maybe it's because I don't suck up to him even when he bullies me. I guess he thought I was interesting? Yaotome Sousuke: No. It's because of Chiba Salon, the coalition of actors and young directors born out of a desire to fight against the ones in power in an oppressive industry. Yaotome Sousuke: Thanks to Chiba Salon, working conditions substantially improved for the actors who had been under the beck and call of industry powers. Yaotome Sousuke: You have a very expansive network. He must have mistaken your Sports Club as this generation's Chiba Salon. Momo: ....... Yaotome Sousuke: It might not even be a mistake. After all, you have only selected people you trust to be in the club and even more so since Re:vale doesn't have any major company backing them up. (4) Momo: It's way too early for him to be setting his sights on us. We're just a little community. But.... Momo: If he's under the impression that we might be an organization trying to oppose him, then Ryuu-chan's in danger. Yaotome Sousuke: You invited him to the Sports Club? Momo: I did. I made him our event coordinator too. (5) Yaotome Sousuke: That was absolutely unnecessary. Momo: Okay, but Ryuu-chan's got a good head on his shoulders! Yaotome Sousuke: I don't give a damn! Yaotome Sousuke: Hmph. So be it. Tsukumo is no longer the industry powerhouse they used to be. We'll seize this chance and split from them. Yaotome Sousuke: With the way Yaotome Productions is right now and with TRIGGER's current momentum, we have more than just a fighting chance against Tsukumo. Momo: You're signing yourself up for trouble if you lump the current Tsukumo with the old one. Even though Ryou-san looks like that, he's really sharp. Yaotome Sousuke: He's nothing more than an impudent, conceited greenhorn. If he forces our hand, then we will make your Sports Club into a real Chiba Salon and fight back. Yuki: Could you stop talking about Momo's friends like they're some kind of army? Yuki: I don't hate you, Papa. But I'd really like it if you stopped thinking so selfishly. Yaotome Sousuke: You're the last person I want to hear that from. Momo: That's so mean! Yuki's a gentleman! That, and I agree with Yuki. Momo: Even though we all come from different backgrounds and positions, we're friends working together towards one goal. Right? Momo: If you keep on thinking like that, it'll come back to bite you someday. And the ones who'll take the fall are TRIGGER and all of the other talents at your agency, Papa. Yaotome Sousuke: So long as our agency continues to assert its dominance, he'll come begging at my feet. There is absolutely no need for us to yield. Same goes for you, Re:vale. Momo・Yuki: ....... Yaotome Sousuke: TRIGGER will surpass Re:vale and Yaotome Productions will surpass Tsukumo Productions. We will become the best in Japan. Yaotome Sousuke: I have no intentions of changing my ways.
To be continued....
TL Notes/comments:
FINALLY HAD A FREE WEEKEND TO DO A LITTLE BIT OF TLING before i am tossed back into a shitstorm \o/
Thank you @kuriiii for proofreading!!
(1) I googled 編成期 and the first result that popped up was 改編期, which is the period of time in Japan when TV/radio shows are switching over, predominantly in March and September (aka spring and fall). Basically, shows typically run for ~1 yr in Japan and when you enter March or September, a bunch of shows that air during prime-time come to an end and new shows come in to replace them. Until regular shows fill them in, there's 2-ish hour long "connecting" special shows that are broadcast during those time slots. AT LEAST, I think this is what anesagi's line is referring to since PT3 takes place around fall-ish (THANKS SARAH 4 CONFIRMIN) so this makes sense, or they're talking about how trg is in the middle of editing or in some transition period bc they don’t have any new stuff yet...? which also makes sense but that’s way too many assumptions from one sentence LOL
(2) Ryou says "I'm not the one who took care of you, but I don't mind if you feel indebted to me" literally but that dont quite sound right so there’s some fixes
(3) as much as I like entertaining the idea of gaku going to frat house ragers, this is referring to the party scene like wayyyyyyyyy back during the beginning of part 3 (aka the Yay! Yay yay! scene)
(4) I figured this was in reference to Tsukumo backing up Yaotome, esp since Okazaki Productions is a small family run business SO rather than relying on business connections as a fall-back (like in the case of Yaotome), Re:v needs to rely on personal connections and good networking to stay afloat? smth like that
(5) 幹事 can mean like executive secretary, organizer, etcetc. Event coordinator sounded like smth typical to clubs and stuff so! Yeah.
As usual, if you see any mistakes/mistranslations/etc, please message me!
Thank you for reading!!
