I have to admit that my jaw still drops at how viciously, openly, and proudly antisemitic this site is. Every plea for basic human decency to be extended to Jews gets shouted down by freaks on here who view their bigotry as akshewally social justice praxis, because they somehow think they’re special as opposed to belonging to humanity's long, ugly history of deeming the targets of their bigotry as inhuman and therefore ineligible to receive human rights. That’s how tumblr sees Jews: ineligible for human rights.

marketing guy: hmmm yeah we need to make vodka soda branded as “gay water.” make sure the packaging looks like diaper packaging.
other marketing guy: maybe we should add funny little stickers, like–
both at the same time: racism is small dick energy!

the weirdly vengeful and petty tones aborted babies take in pro-life propaganda images are so funny like this passive aggressive "was it worth it mommy?" and "it's a shame you can't join me in heaven mommy 😔" like do you ever wonder if you were aborted for a reason you little bitch ass baby

been thinking about it and i think afton is the kind of person who'd insist that his childhood was totally normal and fine but (very occasionally) drop details about it that are so horrifying you have to take a second. because like, 1) nobody is born a monster; you don't end up fucked up like that without something happening, and mental illness is less a switch and more a boiling pot; and 2) yeah, if he went through shit as a kid -- had a shitty family, got treated poorly by his peers, hell just had bad circumstances -- him owning that as an adult would allow him to paint himself as a perpetual victim, casting himself as the hero of the story valiantly going on despite his past suffering... but it would also mean admitting that this did not start with him. that something else held power over him in way that he recognises as wrong. that he was not only failed, but hurt in a way that he cannot recover from.
and here's the fun thing about afton: he exists on a constantly shifting spectrum; his personality and personal narrative -- the one he tells you -- morphs depending on the situation, which is how he always comes out on top. he will suffer immense losses and still be winning because he can twist the story until it looks like he is, and he does this both out of an obsessive need for control and because that control is all he has; he is empty beneath the faces he wears as masks and he knows it. this is why he targets children the way he does: he is the ultimate patriarch exerting his authority over the family he has created, be they flesh or steel. the pizzeria is his playground and they are the toys he uses to give it life, and he loves them for what they are to him.
(it should be noted here that he seems deeply childish because he is, emotionally -- which is to say that something went wrong, be it because of his own brain or actions that happened to it, and he never learned to do the shit that adults do easy, like process emotions and form attachments. he's angry because it's easy.) (notice how the two primary ways we see him express himself -- the violence and the creation of machines -- are external things? he can't turn his gaze inward. he does not recognise the limits of his self in the mirror.)
so: would that man recognise that something he went through was wrong, and that it affected the adult he became in a way that was harmful, and that it would be wrong to start that cycle again... or would his own limited experiences (how is he supposed to know it's wrong if he knows nothing else?) and ~twisted mind~ lead him to think of it as not that big of a deal -- that whatever might've happened was just a fact of his life? and, most importantly: even if it weren't... if he was capable of introspection enough to see it... would he ever admit that to someone else?
but of course, saying that means i've nailed him down, so he's no doubt already shifting to wriggle himself out of getting perceived once again. the bastard.
(also: by "bad things", I don't even necessarily mean something more obviously wrong, like getting physically abused. kids are sensitive and brains are complicated, and something as simple as not paying enough attention to your baby can fuck them up for life. neglect leaves kids to teach themselves -- and the self-taught can make habits of mistakes that the experienced could have corrected. it's just as harmful as a belt.)
