I didn’t realise that fondness equated to an automatic, mutual agreement to a romantic partnership. It is possible to be incredibly fond of someone and not need a label or boundaries.

I know. I’m really sorry. I’m letting my problems leak out and you don’t need that. You probably have your own things you’re dealing with. I mean, you were sick recently and I haven’t even asked if you feel better. I just got sucked into a self centred bubble. I’m sorry.
What is going on, Bunny?

August cannot come soon enough, I need to get out of this city and away from the polluted air in this heat. Does anyone else find it harder to deal with bullshit in the Summer?

Selene, I get that you have things going on but you can’t just expect people to drop what is going on in their own lives especially if you don’t vocalise that you need someone. You obviously need someone to talk to but when asked how you are you’re always vague. You don’t give a real answer. At least not to me.
Now I’d be more than willing to listen to whatever is going on with you right now but in order to do that you need to actually say something instead of blowing up.
There’s a booth at Asmodeus with your name on it if you want to talk but i’m not letting you make me feel bad about having my own shit to deal with.
Your argument makes total sense to anyone who knows nothing about mental health, Lucas. Not everyone is capable of expressing themselves so easily as you do. I never knew our friendship was predicated on the ability to ask for help.
I have no desire to talk to you about my problems now because I certainly wouldn’t want you to ‘drop’ everything to have to deal with them.

They are. I have jobs lined up for them so they should be here permanently now. How are you, Selene?
That is impressive, did they have to wait on the green card system?

Well, I know you’re a bit of a poet, but… what if I read you… The Brothers Karamazov, or maybe The Count of Monte Cristo again. I wouldn’t mind reading almost anything.
A bit of a poet? Poet is the noun with which I would describe my entire being, a bit of a poet. Oh Thane. I am happy with what ever you might choose.

Dear Selene,
I have found myself thinking of you a lot this week. Has anyone told you how unique your mind is? I always am truly fascinated by you. I am not the most artistic of people, so to hear your poetry, to be able to get a glimpse inside your thought process is amazing. You have brought a new puzzle piece to my life. You are one of the center pieces with the grooves and notches that makes it so difficult to find. But putting that piece in the puzzle is the most fulfilling. I think you have brought art and gentle calmness into my life where I was lacking it. I hope that I too am filling a small spot in your puzzle.
Selene, you have such a talent that I have a happy envy of. You are so brilliant with your words and your mind operates on a level that is so rare these days. I so love your soul, and the things you do.
Truly,
N.R.G.
Selene stared at the note, her eyes tearing up. They had written again and again they had touched a dark empty place and put something warm and light there. It wasn’t just the sweet words, it was knowing that someone saw her, really saw her that was a strange painful type of joy. Selene still had no idea who it was or how she could possibly reach out to them. In the hours that followed she tried to work out the riddle of the signature but nothing became clear, in the end she simply printed it and stuck it to her wall along with the first one, a reminder of another little light in her life.

Why not that picture of all possible pictures? It was simply because I wanted to. Contextually the photo didn’t go with tacos, I don’t really care. But the photo comes to make more sense when I talk about the heels and my height. Since I’ve talked about that before on here, my first post actually, it doesn’t seem illogical. You say you’re not attacking and I don’t necessarily feel attacked but you’re nitpicking and reaching at something. Sounds more judgmental than curiosity. Whatever it is, fine by me — judge away.
Judgemental? Not at all, like I said, I have no problem with posting what you like, I am simply trying to understand. Forgive me for being straightforward with my questioning, I am not one that often likes to beat around the bush. Are you often in the habit of convoluted conversation starters? It seems an abstract way to approach life, I can appreciate that.

I think to properly understand the nature of the lectures, you would have to attend one, and I get the impression you would not be very open to that. In essence, I spend the majority of such lectures providing scientific evidence against some of the theories presented by astrology experts. I don’t stand there telling people their horoscopes.
Well, my favourite poet is Phillip Larkin, and I have heard him described by many as an inflexible pessimist. Poetry isn’t about working to a goal, it is about the now, and what is happening in your mind in the moment you are writing.
You are quite wrong there, I am open to a great many things and I would be open to attending one. I am just curious about the reasoning behind it, I appreciate that it is scientifically based content, I just would not have thought many people were interested in the disproving of something widely held to be untrue. What areas of astronomy do you focus on in your other lectures?
Why Philip Larkin if I may ask? I know a few of his works but have never much been able to connect with them. That might be for some poets, mine is much more rooted in memory and sensation of experience. In a way I document what has been, what I have felt rather than the moment my pencil hits the paper if you take my meaning.

I am not entirely sure why it is something that they deliver. Personally, I prefer lectures on Astronomy, hence why I will be completing my paper on the topic for my doctorate. I’m not a believer in astrology, however enough of the people of LA seem to be interested, and so the observatory have taken the opportunity to get a wider audience.
Good for you, do something that makes you happy. I like that outlook. Any ideas about where you will be focusing your energy? Or is it just wherever the tide takes you?
If you’re not a believer in astrology, you must find it difficult to lecture on the subject. I wouldn’t have thought many people would be open to hearing it be scientifically dismantled as I’m sure your Astronomy training and sensibilities force you to do. It seems an odd choice for the observatory to engage with, it can’t be good for their reputation within the scientific community.
Happy? Some days, not always. I am a poet so I spend the majority of my time working on that, but it is not really to any end or goal as most people seem to be orientated towards. I am just going one day at a time at present.

I think you missed where I said it had no relation and then I went on to mention the heels. If the picture, for me, was highlighting anything then I pointed it out. I could’ve posted a picture of tacos but I didn’t want to make myself too hungry.
No, I didn’t miss it. I read your whole post to make sense of it, but nothing genuinely explained the visual choice. Why that picture, of all possible pictures? Posting pictures of tacos would make much more sense contextually, so I am curious as to why you decided to go down such an illogical route. Like I said, I am not attacking you for it, I am just honestly curious.
