You guys remember when Johnny called Kenshi ‘tattoo’?

I thought it was a weird choice of word during the first playtrough, ngl I even cringed a little.

But second time playing it, I found it even more weird. Why was that the first nickname/insult that crossed his mind?

Johnny’s only seen Kenshi’s bare hands, and sure the tattoos cover a lot of skin, but I don’t think that’s enough to warrant it.

Johnny has to have seen more than that, be it during a heated spar or because they were roommates during their little training arc (fav HC) - I believe he has seen the rest of Kenshi’s tattoos and it left an imprint on his brain.

Just imagine Kenshi letting his guard down around the others, no longer as cautious due to the lack of Yakuza in his surroundings, and just taking off his shirts during a spar out on the courtyard, too distracted by the sizzling heat, unintentionally showcasing the endless amount of tattoos across his arms, chest—tattoos that just completely cover his whole upper body, and Johnny’s neurons in that moment went HAYWIRE

That moment, the picture Kenshi makes, all sweaty and roughed up, sun gracing his skin and making those intricate tattoos damn near glow just as bright as that glimmer in his eyes, taking deep root inside Johnny’s brain and making him incapable of coming up with a better retort😔

TLDR; Johnny has seen Kenshi shirtless, and that did something to his brain cells so the first insult he could come up with during that one scene was tattoo
