I'm alive 🥳

Hello everybody 🌞,

I'm alive (and very well) ! 🎉

I've finally finished my formation (in advance, but it's for the best 🏃) and I'm feeling stress free (what is this feeling, is it even legal to feel as such?).

I still haven't the final result, 🫣 but given how mortified I was and how thourough I've done my work, I have no pessimistic ideas about this.

Anyway this is just a quick update about my life right now. 😌

What is important is... I can write again ! 🥹🎉

I've done a few lines today and... Writting is like doing sport. A little time without doing it and you're going rusty xD 🫠

But fear not, this will not deter me. I'm going to stick with this. 💪

I'm actually seeing in a positiv light the time I didn't hit my keyboard for anything other than coding. It gave me the opportunity to think and research. 🤓📑

Think about the setting of the story and my characters.

Research around all of this. I want to give it my all. 😌

My writting is going the be slow to begin with, but we'll get in there with all my new ideas. 🐌

For now, and to reaquaint myself with Twine and my keyboard, I'm going to write the "Bonus" stories (which are the (free) background stories) of my characters. 👀

And then I'm going to open this Google Sheet I dread to open. 😭 It's the one which is filled with the "Report Something" Google Ask. Yes. This one. I haven't opened it in ages, because I fear nothing but those lines. 😂

Well, I think I have written a long enough life update.

But I'll do it. With chocolates nearby preferably, for moral support. 😌🌼

First of all, yes, this issues : The keywords system 🥲

I will patch this up, and hopefully, for the next up-date (because there will be a next update 😌) you will not shed tears of blood whilst playing 🥹

[And no, I will not remove this system simply because it will help in choice to make 🙄, especially during conversation, and I have crazy interactions ideas 😂].

And I heard you, my sweet sweet readers, I will put some more work into the clues system so that you will be able to navigate this better and not being lost 😌

Besides, I will do my best to release solution to the keywords next to stories update, both on Tumblr and the Development Log directly on the game page 😉

I'm sure you all noticed, in the navigation menu, next to Credit, something called "💎 Extra"

No, Gustav, keep your credit card in your wallet 😂

It's Extra, not because it will be paid content, but because it's extra stories : POV, glimpse into some characters's, thoughts…

It will be unlocked as you play, and your relationship with said character : The closer you are, the more stories you unlock 🤗

I wanted to keep it in the game so that it will be personnalized, with your detective name's and all 🌼

I have started to write some of this stories, but, as things stands, those extra stories are too shy to make an appearance yet. You will, of course, be kept updated once the system is ready !

Well, I have to say, I had a little writer's block. A tiny one. So tiny. [No, I'm guilty as charged, I confess 🙈]

But now it's over 🥳

So I'm rewriting ✒

And correcting. With the help of your reports ! (I cry and cringe a little when I see the mistakes you spotted 😂 I'm like : "There's no way I wrote that !" "Was I drunk ?" 😱)

I'm writting, writting, and I will threaten nicely ask my friends to proof read so that you will have something as polished as can be once it's done 🌞

Even though, to be honest, december-january holidays are tough periods on my part 🥹

Long story short, I had to move out faaaaaaaaaar from my family and loved ones for study and work, and prices for transportation to visit them are, well, during holidays, not affordable 😭

Well, Internet and Video calls do help, but It's been years since I was able to spend the holidays with loved ones—or even enjoyable holidays at all 😌

Though, I take it as just a period of my life where I have to bear with it, clench my teeth and think about less fortunate and try not to complain 😊 (or not think about it at all 🤭)

That little ask in my box though is a little sunshine in this cold winter, so thank you very much for that Anon 🌼🥰

I have a question about the line, "You're surprised to see no distinguishing sign of appartenance to any religion at all." Did I miss something that would suggest he should? Cause otherwise I don't see why that would be surprising. A lot of people go around without anything on them to identify their religion.

Ohhh, yep yep, indeed. This line is there because this project was initially something else (oriented priest vs exorcism of sort (yes, it has a past, a past we shall not get out of the closet xD ), and the characters and atmosphere were different then. So it made a point at this precise moment. When rewritting, I didn't see this piece here. Now, it has evolved, so yeah, this line of text is out of context and now irrelevant. I'll note this down in my to-do-list (which is only ever growing) and modify this 🤭

Update diary : August |Notice of hiatus

Hi ! Hope you're all doing well.

I am on my part. In the last update in July, I told you I was doing a bit of research and such. I have discovered some plot holes and such, I must uncover. Besides, English is not my first language (I'm french), so I'm doing a bit of research about Great Britain and customs. On top of it all, I'm going to take coding classes, as such, I'd prefer to wait and learn how to code better before taking over my work again.

I'd like to take my time and do something as best as I can and for that I'm going to remove my deadlines. So as for now, I don't have a particular update in view. That's why I'm putting my work on hiatus.

I'm still going back and forth daily on Tumblr (mainly because I follow @interact-if ), so if you have questions I'll receive notice of it.

This work is not abandoned. I'm working actively on it !

But I'm also in a plot hole hunt to sew them all shut. And I'm elbow deep into working on world building and doing the associated research (being historical, environment...) to back everything up nicely.

Wow....just wow...

This was something...I think you've created something incredible here, a real interactive game. The sound design is so high quality, the UI is really great, so much information & tabs to explore. I never spend so much time in the menu before 😂 just reading every bit I can, the relationship/character tabs are so cool, the case tab & clues as well.

& of course the story it self...is so great! Very intriguing, mysterious & it kept me on the edge of my seat. The fast choices gets my heart beating like crazy but I love it, it's another layer of complexity. The characters are very interesting & I cannot wait to get to know them...

Helloo there! I'd like to give lots of love for this story! I'm a fucking pusset, and I avoid horror with all my might, usually, but your story has been really intriguing and I'm, above all else, deadly curious! I think there's only one other horror IF that I actually like, and now there's yours too! The story seems to be pretty interesting and the MC being a private investigator only adds to that (me loves sniffing around where I shouldn't). When I read the whole swamp scene there was a giant storm here, and when we reach the parking area, the lights started to flick here, the game's sound made it a whole lot worse and I was like "Well, damn you wendigo sir, you already found me". 😢

I looved Elias, he's a real grumpy and my MC was so terrified that she resorted to violence, never my first option, but I loved the outcome. And I'm sooo curious about Shepard, and literally everyone. As Elias said "curiosity killed the cat" and oh man I'm in for a ride, no regrets.

Thank you so much, I'm looking forward to learn more about the world, the characters and the story as a whole. Let's love these guys/galssss and enjoy this amazing writing!

I kinda appreciate the positive early ending, tbh— most games like to punish you for it (either by giving a bad ending or forcing you to the very start) so I'm glad my curiosity did not end up with me being horrified or made feel bad for it.

But also, it's very funny that a mundane person would not meet these creatures ever in their lives in this story's universe, and MC never saw anything like that ever again. Life in ignorance of the supernatural from then on, what a bliss for them. They write the swamp off as a bad dream and continue living a normal life.

Yeah, I wanted to put this ending here because it felt right, in a choosing kind of way. But I couldn't make a branching from that, so I left this simply as an early ending.

The reason why such creatures will never be met ever again will be explained further in the story :3

Hey there, I love the demo so much! It actually scared me since it was around 3am when I started to play 😆 I stopped at the shower scene tho since I started to get frustrated with what to type aofbwkdj The hint only works once and can't be retyped again, I also didn't realize there was a stats page since I thought it'll only show once you were out of the forest like the other games do- This demo is a bit too complicated for me since I normally dislike it when you have to type in your answer and you'd have to stop reading just to find it😭 I rlly love it though! Sorry for rambling or if I didn't make much sense- My brain's still a bit mushy

Well, I'm surprised and at the same times I'm not 😂

I just didn't expect Elias to be THAT popular. 1/3 of you want a piece of him, he'll be happy to know that 😂 And his ego will be too.

Second position is Owl, now I wonder if you know you'll gonna suffer on this road. It'll be like walking, barefoot, on black asphalt in the middle of a hot summer day. After it has rained.

Sheppard come third, this one is a surprise. I would have expected Yu in third position. But who doesn't like an edgy [insert species here]? They'll choke on their water if they'll know of this.

Now now, fourth position is held by both Yu and Iolrath 😂 Yu will pout for sure. Like mad pouting. And act all dramaqueen. Iolrath will just elegantly allow themselves a smile. How bright it will shine, now this is a sight to behold. Minus the slight smugness of course.

We then have Anya in fifth position, if this was a marathon, she would be that friend we don't know will be last or not and cheer all the way. She'll be wheezing when running. But in truth, you'll see more of her in case 02 😉

Mbaya is last. Well. Poor them 😭 I guess the lack of description has undermined them. I'm curious how this will all play out in the future 🤔
