Triaina: Academy Update (12/29/2023)

Hello everyone. It's been a long time coming hasn't it. But I am very happy to announce the new update for Triaina: Academy, which incorporates a whopping 81k words, even larger than I originally anticipated, to provide ya'll with a series of unique developments for each RO during the Day of Independence Festival.

It was far longer than I had originally anticipated, and took far more time in the development stages than I wanted it to due to my own scheduling complications and lack of effective time, but you are all nontheless justified in your concerns over the lack of progress.

I anticipate upcoming updates to be on a far reduced scale, both to decrease my workload and provide a bit more consistency in my presence.

For those that have been anticipating this update, thank you for your patience. I hope you thoroughly enjoy all of the new content that's been added, and be sure to let me know what you enjoyed most!

How would each RO's fan base react if MC dates their idols? And what would MC's fan base think if they date some RO? 😅

Blade's fanbase: I think reactions from his fanbase are mixed, ranging from either envious and salty (like "nooo I was supposed to be the special one who unlocked his ice-cold heart, this isn't fair!!") to resigned acceptance because the special treatment was obvious to anyone watching closely enough, so it's not exactly a surprise

Trouble: completely non-surprise, it was sooo obvious for so long, they'd most likely "adopt" MC as part of their fandom and ship/worship them from afar as a couple... except for Rovyn, if you've read Trouble's latest day off 😭

Tallys: I think it would mostly be mystification, like "HUHHHH since when were they interested in each other?? what made Tallys break down her walls and go after MC, who's not even another Elf??" I think they'd be more rabid for details and consumed with curiosity than anything!

Shery: there would be much wailing and gnashing of teeth, it'd be like watching a much-beloved daughter go off on her own and marry into a different household, the mourning and loss would be intense 😭

Riel: honestly I feel like 90% of his fanbase would be very happy that Riel can actually find romantic happiness with somebody, I think his fans worry about him and his health and want him to find someone because they mostly entertain no fantasies that that person would ever be them, lol, if they're fans of his then they're already well aware of his impossible standards 😂 So they would be very pleased for him and likely approving of the relationship!

Chase: there would be much salt from his fanbase and many mutual reassurances along the lines of "don't worry, we know his pattern, it's just a hookup, this won't last, no one panic!!" and the longer it went on and the more committed and in-love Chase acted, the more the confidence would die down to a sour 'we all agreed not to talk about it' lol

Red: I think there would be much salt and bitterness, I'm guessing that in the case of fuckboys and players that the fans accept/love/embrace that aspect of them (believing that they'll never settle down and will be perpetual bachelors), and then when that changes, there's probably a sense of betrayed outrage, like they're not the same person or something anymore, lol. I imagine that the salt would be increased even more if Red and MC are exes!

Ayla: I think there would be a sense of noble acceptance and acknowledgement about it, like, "ah.... my fair Ayla... if that is your path to happiness, I can only step aside and wish you well from afar......" So generally they would just be happy that she'd found someone and could only wistfully observe her changes in demeanor as a result of finding love with MC from a distance, and with a faint sense of pride and approval, like

Briony: gnashing and writhing, tearing out of the hair and sobbing into pillows and etc. There are probably angry muttered discussions of challenging MC to a group (?) duel that never actually come to fruition

Lavinet: melodramatic theatrics and public declarations and fervent letters sent to Lavinet along the lines of "My dearest Lavinet, I thought what we had was special! How could you betray me thus? 🥺 What have I done to deserve such scorn from thee???" It's not personal to MC, it's just that Lavinet had a LOT of admirers sending her love letters and they all thought they were the only one lol

MC: I think this would depend on who MC was dating! If it was someone higher up in the ranks, like Blade or Riel (aka a co-Commander) or someone like Lavinet, Trouble, or Tallys (old guard, noble, etc.), it would be like "yeah I guess that makes sense... :/" but if it was someone less obviously "deserving" or "equal" to MC, there would be some "make it make sense!!!" feelings of shock. After all, MC is the Hero of Haven, they deserve someone who can equal their greatness!!

The free version of the demo is finally here. It is at an entirely different link than you guys are used to but all demo links have now been updated.

This is for the first three chapters of the story. The full game will be released September 1st 2023.

Your closest ally since childhood. They hold the County of Belleme, on the east-southeast border of Ribaur, and often have to face border raids from Imperial forces. Their title was originally a Marquisate, but after their father protested your parents’ death sentence it was demoted. Though they try to keep a bright outlook on things, their circumstances are beginning to weigh on them. They only came to power a few years ago after their father passed of old age.

As a fellow direct vassal of the Liege, the political/legislative support of Count/Countess de Alençon, however you feel about them, is a great boon, and they are all around a great ally. Their economic support and trade know-how have helped Akize when the profits of the port city of Grimaldi suffered, and the Akizian army has helped defend the mountain passes of Belleme many a time.

Often sarcastic and lighthearted, C’s more serious moments are to be either cherished, or feared...

It's about 5 days until the update, and I'll go through a bit of what you can expect from it!

The festival has two parts to it.

The first part is the general festival date. This lets you go between four different locations, that either being looking through a small food court, trying out game stalls, browsing shops, or visiting a fortune teller's tent.

Though these are the same options for every RO, the specific romance route that you are in will determine completely different outcomes for each option (I.E. E checks out souvenires in the shop, L will be interested in books, while F inspects a flower shop). These scenes showcase different lore regarding each character's interests and various worldbuilding that ties into their route.

The second part of the festival is the character specific scene. This is an extended scene exclusive to the character's romance story in which a couple things will happen:

You will meet secondary characters tied very closely to the romance route you're on. Your father/fill in will appear, and meet/confront your chosen RO.

For some, the specific routes are very sweet (Hospital visit with E, Hairpin exchange with L, Running from the guards with S) While others are definitely steeped in malaise (V's betrayal, P's defeat, Raven's identity breakdown). Then there are others that have a little of both in them.

Overall, each one presents very substantial strides in the RO's story, and I'm both happy in how they ended up turning out and excited for you all to experience both the happiness and sorrow of this festival haha

I love the thought of the MC telling the RO's that they kissed Guard kun and offered to meet them later to gain entry into the city and Chase just going "Nice" while Blade on the other side of the spectrum just being absolutely appalled that the MC had to go through such lengths lol.

Blade: *immediately stewing on how he can use his power to get Guard-kun fired for corruption and abuse of power... ironically as he kind of abuses his power to do so LOL* *in other words seething with hate and jealousy and annoyance but channeling that into professional career-based murder*

Trouble: I don't think he would register right away that "MC offered to fuck a guy to get something out of it," his brain would just get stuck on "that guy was not nice to MC/put them in a position they shouldn't have to be in" and he'd just blankly looking over his shoulder while his brain went must put the beat down on that man now... Like his feet would automatically already be redirecting him back towards Guard-kun! MC: "waIT--"

Tallys: she's silent on the surface but inside she wants to tear Guard-kun to pieces with her teeth

Shery: I think she'd be quite shocked by this revelation, especially by MC's hypothetically-casual delivery of it! It'd make her wonder how often this sort of thing happens and it would make her feel very naive and sheltered about the way the world works... Overall she'd feel bad that MC was put in the position where they felt like they had to offer sex just to get into the city, but because they said it so lightly, she wouldn't be sure if she should remark on it or offer any sympathy or indignation and would just awkwardly let the moment pass without comment!

Riel: he wouldn't really give any outward reaction, like he'd just be like "oh. interesting." but he's probably getting that guy fired IMMEDIATELY lol what if he's doing the same thing to other people!! this cannot stand!! Also he'd be giving MC just a little bit of a side eye for so casually offering sex to a stranger, but also that'd be commingled with a little bit of respect for their resourcefulness and cunning!

Chase: "oh yeah the old 'I'll have sex with you if you give me what I want' trick. I am familiar"

Red: I think he wouldn't really know what to make of that information at first... I think he'd be mostly appalled that Guard-kun did that and would judge him for being an overall gross scumbag, but also he'd be like, yeah it's MC, realistically who wouldn't fall for that

Ayla: unfazed. "oh dang. so did you do it or... no? yeah, I don't blame you, you could do better. that mustache is fucked up"

Briony: she'd be righteously indignant on MC's behalf and would loudly be asking if she should go fight the guy. she'd also be a bit jealous, so her desire to fight him would partially be moral outrage because he tried to take advantage of MC and also "you bastard, why did MC offer to sleep with you and not with meee 😭 I'll kill you!!! 😭" (In a crushing stage!)

Lavinet: if they're just friends, Lavinet actually respects this as a baller move LOL but if they're on a romance route, Lavinet is simultaneously SHOOK that this happened, jealous, huffy, annoyed by her own jealousy and huffiness, and just generally would not take this very well! She'd be stewing but she'd try to let it pass, mostly just out of pride and desire to show that it didn't affect her!

To answer your question, you're not locked out of romance if you had a thing going with one of your flashback friends!

If you later choose to be struggling to come to terms with what happened to your partner/crush, then it changes future romantic options and will generally make them slower to initiate, but it still doesn't lock you out.

And don't worry you aren't stupid, nothing wrong with asking questions <3
