In my conversations with customers with furry friends 🐶 I know that summer days can be tough on a dog’s skin. The summer allergies like pollen, dust mites, mold, and flea saliva, can take its their skin by causing lots of itching. The long winter days are no exception. It’s the cold dry air along with the home’s heating system can rob your dog’s skin of moisture which creates dry, flaky, itchy skin. By bathing them with handmade soaps made with plant-based oils like coconut oil and olive oil will add moisture back to their skin while rejuvenate their coats. Every year on November 1st through 2nd, in many Mexican households “Día de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) is celebrated. Día de los Muertos is a holiday to remember and celebrate loved-ones by enjoying their favorite meal and drinks as you would when they were alive. As in most, if not all Mexican celebrations, food and drinks are the center of attention. Typically, families prepare the deceased favorite foods and are placed on an altar along with colorful ofrendas” (decorations) like candles, bright yellow marigold flowers 🌼, photographs, drinks, and incense. Día de los Muertos is a tradition my family and I look forward to every year - admittedly we started celebrating it more consistently a few years ago. It’s a great way to remember loved-ones and of course, another reason to celebrate anything with family.😊😋 Sharing and creating new memories is what family gathering and celebrations means to my family and I.
