former depressive person

I have noticed the last 2 years that i’ve joined tumblr, alot of posts and poems and pictures being posted , by teenagers mostly , with the main theme of depression and how cool depressed people are and how cute scars and self harm is….

as a girl that has been through, (and still trying to get over) depressive disorder, i have to tell you that it sucks , it’s not romantic, it’s not beautiful, it’s nothing that you can talk or post about because you are embaressed of it , you can’t show your scars because you are embaressed about them , you can’t show it , you have no motivation for life , no inspiration , you are numb….being depressed also is not that obvious to others , you can make jokes, go out , have friends but its like a shadow behind you , wispering to you all the time ,that none of this can make you happy , none of these people can make you realy smile…. 

depression  is not a fashion statement , depression is an illness …. so if you think you have it , stop posting your scars and all those dark , half romantic txts and photos that talk about “the girl with no soul “ or “the boy with the dark eyes” saying that it’s totally you , ASK FOR HELP AND STOP USING A SERIOUS ILLNESS TO GET LIKES

sorry for my rudeness but i’m tired of seeing all the teenagers posting about depression like if they were talking about their new crush…. this is serious
