‘Mech post number 7! Time to start the clan invasion!
My love of light mechs dictates that I had to start by painting the light clan mechs first. Starting with the Adder Prime.
I got into liking Clan Ghost Bear just reading through their lore, but I am also a sucker for a good blue scheme and I want to try improve free handing their clan symbol.
My first attempt is a little let down by the claws but I think I’ll be able to improve it on my next few mechs. I think I want to try painting the Hellion next.
This posse is a kind of wild-west meets classic fantasy necromancy. From left to right; a big boned farmer, a vampiric mayor, the priest who found the old gods’ bones to revive them, a Frankensteined Undertaker, and an animated set of armour possessed by the town’s blacksmith.
I wanted a proper grimdark set of minis for Forbidden Psalm, a game that’s compatible with Mork Borg that I’ve been getting really into.
One of the darkest sets of miniatures I’ve ever painted, here’s an example of the colour balance;
(As you can see here how small my miniatures usually are, Northstar on left, Gamesworkshop on right).
Like a bunch of miniature kitbashers I know, I decided to hop on the bandwagon of building a bot for BillMakingStuff's new wargame Bangarang in the Gutterlands!
Bill's style and vision is so well defined - a rusty and surreal post-apocalypse. Since that's less my vibe, I wanted to take his style of scratchbuilding and combine it with my JRPG fashionista approach.
Not an easy build, though - those legs were killer! Greenstuff was needed for its posability, but a lot of patiently holding it in place and haphazard superglue was needed to stop the whole thing from collapsing under its own weight. I'll have to do some cleanup of stray glue and greenstuff before I paint it!
