As this project continues to balloon out of proportion, I'm starting to think I should do a oneshot book idea first to find my feet as a writer. (Like everyone and their mother suggests new writers do)
I'll still be a massive weeb about it and prob write my own villainess take, but ya know, it'll be shorter! So there's that.

while I get the hard and soft magic distinction, they are SO unhelpful for sevsuns magic system. It's a little anoying when its assumed ALL magic fits this dicotomy. Makes it hard to find resorces on how to handle it. IG i'll be flying mostly on my own insticts for that one.
I see sevsun's magic more like painting. Sure there's limits in what colours you have, how much paint you have, and your skill with it. But what you can do? What you can make? Nearly limitless. If you can imagine it, you can make it... you just figure out how to apply apply the magic to do it.
If I tried to apply a hard/soft dicotomy to it, different parts of the same system would be hard and soft within the same spell. So IG the systems like... medium???? But no ones talking about rules for medium magic!

listen to me. i am speaking directly in your ear. if you write a masked character you have to commit to the bit. they stay masked forever now. no face reveals. it adds to their sex appeal. trust me.

Me: I should keep things fairly simple world building wise so I can get into writing as soon as possible. It's my first book after all!
Also me: so anyway I started work on the biosphere and ecology cause I felt the world really needed a fleshed out one. For vibes.

I'm more or less set on the fantasy races probably. The main ones anyhow. I'm still debating if I wanna add the furries or not.
Like I've already got the Ilyani, the Sha'del, the Humans x2, and the Dinn. I feel like that's enough, I don't wanna over crowd it.
But!
What if kitty ears? You can see my dilemma.
I also gotta work on like... ecology flora/fauna etc unique to this world but that requires learning so much and I'm so tired already

Oh my gosh. I just found this website that walks you though creating a believable society. It breaks each facet down into individual questions and makes it so simple! It seems really helpful for worldbuilding!

Logically I know I will have to name all the different books in the series, and theoretically I could put that off till I reach each one.
But also what if I just called them book 1, book 2, book 3, etc? Wouldn't that be sooooo much easier?

Theoretically, sevsen will take 12-15 normal books to write. I'll prob just do a more western style and split certain arcs into part 1 and part 2 if it's getting a bit long for that arc.
Amazing what can get done in a day of obsessive research, reflection, and planning
Been thinking a lot about how to format sevsun, cause like.... it's def a series (I say having yet to write 1 (one) book) but how should I do it?
Like should I move forward as a more western series or would an OELN be better? Mostly it's about how much goes into one book and thus the structure of each book. I just genuinely don't know which would serve me better ^^;
Like naritively, I know sevsun is looooooooooong and is more based in an LN way of doing things, but I'm also more familiar w a western book layout/stucture as I've read more of those. Decisions decisions....
Frankly it's hard to find any resources of how one should structure a series :/
