Yeah, I agree. It needs work.
I've got a LONG way to go before I try a costume if I can't even make a decent pillow! I'm gonna try and make one for my stepdaughter tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. 😂😂😂

Day Two!
I made a thing!
Okay, so my husband did half. But he showed me how to make a thing. That counts, right?
I found myself back at the machine this morning, thinking I didn't thread the needle right. Of course, my son followed me in there and started shooting questions at me like I'm the Master of All Things Sewing™.
That brought my husband back into the room to wonder what the hell was going on. Then he tried to help.
He helped me properly thread it and showed me how to make a pillowcase! (I love this man.) It's not proper, cause I'm just messin around tryin to learn things, but I'm going to go buy some more fabric and try to make another today.
I'm super proud of myself for getting started on something that's obviously such an arduous undertaking. Mayyyybe I can make some money off of this one day??

Welcome!
So, one of the things I've always been interested in is cosplay. I wanted to be able to create the amazing costumes I see online and feel comfortable in my own skin while doing it.
How*ever*...
I have no idea how to sew. None. Zero. Never touched a sewing machine in my life...
Until today.
I bought this beauty (I'm sure most sewing addicts are lookin at me silly while I type this) at my local Wal-Mart and finally whipped it out tonight while my kids played. One of my dear friends informed me that it's a decent starting machine to learn on, so that gave me a little confidence as I made my way home.
Until I opened it up.
What the hell have I gotten myself into, I asked myself as I pulled out several items that all have names that sound familiar, but I have no actual idea what the f*ck any of it does and oh my god, my kid won't shut up and the toddler is trying to push on the foot peddle and...
-deep breath- You get my point.
I managed to get my needle threaded? I think?..
Take two starts tomorrow. The machine works. That was the goal today. One step at a time.
