Easy Curses for Beginners
Tumblr media
Here are some simple yet unusual curses for beginners. These curses are low-energy, easy to perform, and require minimal tools. They are subtle and perfect for those just starting their baneful practice, but still pack a punch. Always be mindful of your intentions—curses can carry karmic or energetic consequences. Always start the curse process by protecting yourself and end it by cleansing yourself. Remember to do your own research before using baneful magick.
The Rotting Fruit Curse
Causes a person’s luck, relationships, or finances to decay over time.
Needed:
• A piece of fruit (apple, orange, etc.)
• A slip of paper
• A black pen
• A dark place (cupboard, drawer, or under the bed)
Instructions:
Write the target’s name on the paper. Place the paper inside or beneath the fruit. Hold the fruit and focus on your intent—imagine the person’s life slowly rotting just like the fruit will. Place the fruit in a hidden, dark place and leave it to decay. Once fully rotted, dispose of it far from your home.
The Knotted Thread Curse
Traps a person in misfortune, confusion, or stagnation. The target experiences obstacles, delays, and problems that keep them from progressing in life.
Needed:
• A piece of black thread or string (12 inches long)
• Your voice and breath
Instructions:
Hold the string in your hands and focus on the target. With each knot you tie, say a phrase like:
• "With this knot, I trap your fate."
• "With this tie, your plans fall apart."
Tie nine knots while envisioning the person becoming stuck, unable to move forward in life. Hide or bury the thread somewhere secret.
The Echo Curse
Makes a person’s words return to them, causing gossipers or liars to suffer their own consequences. Their own words work against them—exposing their lies, making people distrust them, or causing them to face social backlash.
Needed:
• A mirror (small handheld one works best)
• A marker or lipstick
• The person’s name (or just "liar," "gossip," etc.)
Instructions:
Write their name (or a word representing their offense) on the mirror. Hold the mirror and say:
"What you say returns to you, every lie and every word untrue."
Place the mirror facing a wall or inside a dark drawer, so their energy is reflected back to them.
The Cracked Egg Curse
Causes a person’s stability to fall apart—relationships, money, confidence, or mental clarity. The target experiences instability, whether emotional, financial, or personal.
Needed:
• A raw egg
• A marker
• A place to smash the egg (outside, near their path, or a trash bin)
Instructions:
Write the person’s name on the egg. Hold it and whisper your curse into it, such as:
"May your life crack like this shell."
Imagine their stability shattering like the egg will. Smash it on the ground or in a trash bin.
The Slipping Shadow Curse
Causes a person to lose focus, forget things, or make mistakes. They struggle with their memory, lose track of things, and make more mistakes.
Needed:
• A black candle
• A piece of paper
• A pencil
Instructions:
Write the target’s name on the paper. Light the black candle and hold the paper over the flame (don’t burn it yet). Whisper:
"Like a shadow slipping through the cracks, your mind stumbles, your focus lacks."
Let a few drops of wax fall on the name, then crumple the paper. Blow out the candle and throw the paper in a busy place (so their energy is scattered).
The Splitting Roads Curse
Causes confusion, indecision, and emotional instability. The target struggles to understand what's happening and make the right choices.
Needed:
• Two twigs or sticks
• A piece of string
• A crossroads or a place where two paths split
Instructions:
Tie the two sticks together at one end, so they form a V shape (symbolizing a forked path). Hold them in your hands and say:
"Your choices split, your path unclear, may confusion follow near."
Leave the sticks at a crossroads or place where two paths meet.
The Ink Spill Curse
Causes a person’s words (spoken or written) to be misunderstood, ignored, or turned against them. Everything they say becomes misinterpreted, loses power, or backfires.
Needed:
• A pen
• A piece of paper
• A cup of water or ink
Instructions:
Write the person’s name and a word representing their harmful speech (ie: “lies,” “gossip,” “manipulation”). Hold the paper and whisper:
"Your words twist, your message lost, what you say will bear the cost."
Drop the paper into the water or ink and let the words dissolve. Dispose of the soaked paper in running water (sink, river, or toilet).
The Cold Shoulder Curse
The person experiences social isolation—people ignore them, avoid them, or lose interest in them. This will eventually lead to profound loneliness.
Needed:
• A small ice cube
• A photo of the person (or just their name written on paper)
• A freezer
Instructions:
Place the ice cube on top of their name or photo. Whisper:
"Like ice, you freeze in place. No warmth, no friends, no welcome space."
Wrap the paper/photo in a piece of cloth or plastic and place it in the freezer.
The Crumbling Foundation Curse
Causes a collapse in a person’s relationships, home life, or work environment. The target experiences instability in their personal life making it harder for them to maintain relationships or stability.
Needed:
• A small handful of graveyard dirt
• A piece of paper
• A black pen
Instructions:
Write the person’s name on the paper. Hold the dirt in your hand and whisper:
"Your foundation weakens, your roots unsteady. That which holds you crumbles already."
Sprinkle the dirt over the paper and then fold it, with the dirt inside, like a little packet. Throw into running water or the rubble of a collapsed building.

Right next to you…
“If the world was ending, I'd wanna be next to you…” - Die With a Smile
Tumblr media
Kang Dae-ho x Gn!reader
Warnings: Grammar mistakes/Cannon typical violence
Established relationship
You and your Boyfriend end up in a game of life or death, but at least you are together.
Tumblr media
𖦹You were drowning in debt from a large loan you had taken out from a shady loan company a few years ago for college. Your debt that you were in was not something you were too proud of.
𖦹Those were some of the worst years of your life being in debt but also losing your mom but through those years you met your loving boyfriend Kang Dae-ho, he was a great boyfriend always taking you out on little dates. They may not have been the most expensive but they were still very nice. He would buy little trinkets for you and make small things for you like little paper flowers. It was the little things that made you know that they love you. He was a great boyfriend.
𖦹It didn’t take long for him to open up about his debt, falling into a bad gamble with some marines. On your way home at the train station you were stopped by a strange man with a briefcase offering to play ddakji for some money. You should’ve ignored him but the idea of earning money was tempting. However you lost now owing more money to some guy. All this did was create you more debt, but through that man he gave you this strange business with three shapes. Maybe just maybe you could get the money to pay off your debt and Dae-ho’s debt and you guys could live a normal life not worrying about loan sharks or debt collectors. It would all be worth it.
𖦹You should’ve walked away. These games were not normal games, these were death games. The first game was intimidating, it was nothing until the first bullet rang out but then came the screams. With those sounds you froze like a deer in headlights. People started running back to the entrance just to be shot down.
𖦹Right next to you a man with a bullet through his head in the back of your mind wanted to scream but out of fear you stayed still. You had to get out of this place; this was just a death sentence.
𖦹 At least we have a choice: we could vote to stay or leave and end these games. The money had been accumulated already from those dead body’s. It’s not much but if I leave now I could walk away from this hell with my life. With the money I could pay a good chunk of my debt and also his debt.
𖦹In your train of thought you forgot that the voting had begun. “389 please cast your vote… 388 please cast your vote…” The square guard said. Lost, you didn’t notice the familiar face walking down the aisle. “What?” You muttered. I'm going crazy, the adrenaline is getting to me. He would never go behind my back. I'm going crazy. “300 please cast your vote…” The same monotone voice came back. Another person voting to stay these greedy people risking their life for money. You were next. “298 please cast your vote..” The square guard said. Feeling all the other players eyes on your back but you could feel a special set of eyes on your back.
𖦹Your hand hovered over the X button but the idea of staying for just one more game one more was tempting to get more money and pay off all their debt. No, I have to get out of my life. You pressed the X button and the red illuminated your face a few more X’s and you could leave with some of the money and your life. “297 please cast your vote… 290…270..240… 232.” Said the guard. We are so close one more vote, one more vote and we could go. “Player 001 please cast your vote..” Said the monotone voice. As if there was a long pause as if nothing could be heard but people’s breath, and then another O. Another game to be played, life or death. All you could hear is the groans of the X side and the cheers of the other side.
𖦹As you were walking back to your little corner by little corner you ment little space between the tall bunked beds until you felt a familiar hand on your shoulder. As quick as you felt the hand you turned around. You see a face. “Y/n?” “Dae-ho?” You said at the same time. There was long silence between you both; taking in each other's features as if you hadn’t seen the other in forever. “What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here!” He was the first to break the silence. “I should be the one asking you that!” You said. “I’m here to settle some of our debt! Why are you here!?” He said.
𖦹“Same reason you are but why didn’t you tell me!” You weren’t angry at him, you were just disappointed. Why didn’t he tell you? In thinking that you were being a bit hypocritical you were worried now you were both trapped in this death sentence.
𖦹“I didn’t want to lose this opportunity! I thought it would just be simple games to win and get money and I could pay off both our debts and we could live a normal life together and if there is any money left maybe just maybe get married!” The idea of living a normal life again with him and possibly getting married sounded so great but how would we even make it out.
𖦹These aren’t regular games, each game more money is accumulated but at the cost of dead body’s and who is to say that it wouldn’t be one of you. “But who is to say that either of us will make it to the next round even see the end of the game! Heck you even voted to stay! I can’t even entertain the idea of losing you!” In a flash you were pulled into a tight embrace.
𖦹“Look you know I love you, I know this is a really tough situation for the both of us and we may not know the outcome of all this but at least we are in this together.” He said with a tone of seriousness you haven’t really heard from him. The hug was really needed. He always knew how to calm you down in any situation. Hearing the rhythm of his heart beat grounded you back into reality; but most importantly it reminded you that he was there and he was with you and you weren't on your own.
𖦹“Remember that time I told you if the world was ending, I’d wanna be next to you? I really meant it throughout any situation, life or death, I'd wanna be next to you.” He said with passion like he really really meant it which you knew he did. “I love you and we are in this together.” He said as he held your face gave you a soft kiss on your temple. “I love you too and we are in this together…” If there was anything left to have hope for and live for was for him to stick together and see the end of these games.
- “If the world was ending, I'd wanna be next to you
If the party was over and our time on Earth was through
I'd wanna hold you just for a while and die with a smile
If the world was ending, I'd wanna be next to you.” -

I learnt the intro to this song on guitar!!
I haven't picked my guitar up in over a year /gen, so learning the start to this song in about 20 minutes felt like a massive achievement! I've been really struggling to play for a long time.
Here's a video of me playing it because nobody in real life seems to care that I managed this, and I think some praise or positive feedback could really help. I don't want to give up on the guitar again.

Worshipping vs Working with Deities
Definitions Worshipping a deity is all about respecting them, honouring them, living in a way that represents their domains and aspects. Working with a deity is exactly as the word suggests, a working relationship plus worshipping. A more personal and in-depth back and forth between you and the deity you work with on a long-term goal or in life generally but the specifics are between you and the deity.
Do you need to ask to worship? No. Deities are just that, deities! You can worship whoever you want and feel drawn to. You can ask them for favours, provide offerings, and pray to them.
Do you need to ask to work with a deity? Yes, but you don’t need to wait for them to reach out first. You can always express interest in working with them for whatever reason, provide an offering, and either ask for a specific sign or perform divination. A no now doesn’t mean no later, so if a deity says no to working with you, don’t worry. It doesn’t mean never, just not right now!
Can you make an altar for a deity you don’t work with or only worship? Yes, and as always, make sure you respect that space if you are dedicating it to a deity.
Working vs Worshipping example You work with Apollo in the musical aspects of your life, having more personal guidance and support on learning your chosen instrument and playing in a band. You worship his twin sister Artemis by lighting candles to honour her and care for wildlife with bird feeders, hedgehog homes, birdhouses, and an outdoor ceramic water bowl.
Which is more important? Neither. Whether you worship or work with a deity, both are equally important and just because you don’t work with a deity doesn’t mean your relationship with them is less than. Respect, honouring, and religion specifics are always important in both.

The red top
Summary: You slept with Marhall and in the morning, you meet the ray of sunshine: Kim Mathers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N wakes up in a messy room, the sheets are a tangled mess and her clothes are scattered everywhere. She stretches out her right arm to the empty side, then opens her eyes. Marshall isn’t there. She sighs. But then she catches a glimpse of a post-it note on the nightstand. She picks it up and reads, “I’m so not a chef, so I went to buy breakfast. I’ll be back in a bit.”
Y/N smiles and gets up to explore. She tries to find her clothes. She lies down and sees a glimpse of red fabric on the floor. She picks it up—it’s torn up, lying on the ground. She blushes, remembering why... Marshall had ripped it and kissed and licked over her chest... She’s interrupted by the doorbell. She finds one of his shirts in his drawer and throws on the first one she finds. She also grabs her leather pants that aren't torn and puts them on.
She rushes out of the bedroom and takes in the view of his place. He lives in a gigantic penthouse. His penthouse was huge. There are no walls, only windows with a view of New York City. She heads toward the door and opens it. Her eyes widen when she sees it’s not Marshall. There are two little girls, around 8 or 10 years old. They look pretty alike. One of them looks a little older, though. Behind them stands a blonde woman, glaring at Y/N.
“Who are you?” she hisses.
“Uhh...” Y/N stutters.
“Hey!” says one of the daughters. “I’m Hailey. What’s your name?” she asks. Y/N realizes who they are and gasps. This is Hailey Jade, the one Marshall wrote ‘Mockingbird’ about?
"Oh my gosh, you're THE Hailey?" y/n said full of excitement looking at the famous girl infront of her. "Yeah yeah yeah, this is the girl he wrote Mockingbird for, can we come in? Or not?" asked Kim, trying her best to act kind.
“Uhh, yeah, come in,” y/n says, letting them in.
“Girls, go to your rooms and unpack. Mommy wants to have a talk with your dad’s friend,” says the woman to the girls, giving y/n a smile that sent a shiver to her spine. The girls ran upstairs and y/n heard the door shut.
“What are you doing in my husband’s penthouse, wearing his shirt?” the woman asks. y/n has never met her before, but this gotta be Kim.
Y/N scoffs, “He's not your husband anymore,” y/n says. She makes a face.
“We’re separated,” She says. “We were supposed to try to make things work, Hailey’s sake.”
Y/N raises her eyebrow and nods. “You really tried when you cheated,” she says. The woman looks like she’s about to attack her, but just then, Marshall walks in. His hands are full of bags from a bakery, and his mouth holds a holder with two coffee cups.
Y/N goes and takes the coffee cups from his mouth, and his face turns red. Y/N could feel the tension shift. It was suffocating. The woman stood with her arms crossed, lips curled in a scowl, her eyes scanning Y/N from head to toe with nothing but contempt.
”What are you doing here, Kim?” He asks. Yep it is Kim.
"Dropping of our girls” Kim spat, stepping further into the penthouse. "Like what the hell marshall? You bring some random girl into your home while the girls are visiting? Are you serious right now?"
Marshall scoffed, setting the bags of food on the counter. "First of all, Y/N isn’t some random girl." His eyes darkened as he turned to face Kim, his jaw tightening. "She grew up next to me. We went to high school together. You just never noticed her because she wasn’t getting high all the time."
Kim looked at Y/N for confirmation, and she nodded. Kim let out a sigh. "Oh, don’t start with that holier-than-thou bullshit. What happened with trying to fix things for Hailey’s sake?"
"Fix things?" Marshall let out a bitter laugh. "You mean pretend everything was fine while you fucked other guys? Yeah, real solid effort, Kim."
Kim stepped closer, her voice dropping to a sharp whisper, though the venom in her tone was unmistakable. "You weren’t exactly the perfect husband either. You were gone all the time, locked in the studio, drowning in your own demons. What was I supposed to do, Marshall? Just sit around and wait while you self-destructed?"
His hands curled into fists at his sides, his chest rising and falling with controlled anger. "Yeah, well, at least I owned up to my shit. What did you do"
Kim let out a humorless laugh. "Oh, congratulations! You want a medal for finally getting your act together? Meanwhile, you’re still making the same damn mistakes."
A movement in the hallway caught Y/N’s eye. She turned her head slightly, and her stomach dropped when she saw Hailey and Alaina standing there, watching the fight with wide, nervous eyes. Y/N took a step forward, attempting to defuse the situation.
"Guys, stop. The girls can hear you," she said softly.
Kim’s head snapped toward her, her glare cutting like a knife. "Ohhh, now you’re the parenting expert?" She took a slow, taunting step toward Y/N. "What, you think you’re a better mom than me now?"
Marshall’s entire body tensed beside her. He stood in front of y/n. His voice dropped, low and dangerous. "Don’t. You. Dare. Touch. her."
Kim smirked. "Oh I hit a nerve there." She was smiling now.
Marshall inhaled sharply, nostrils flaring as he tried to keep his composure. Finally, he exhaled and spoke in an eerily calm voice.
"Get out, Kim. Now."
Kim scoffed, grabbing her purse. "You’re pathetic, Marshall. Just wait till Hailey sees you for what you really are."
Marshall’s expression didn’t change, but his voice turned ice-cold. "Oh yeah, that's why she's begging to come and stay at my place all the time. Wondering why she doesn't like your place." he said.
Kim stormed toward the door, yanking it open so hard it nearly slammed against the wall before she disappeared down the hall.
The silence left behind was deafening. Marshall dragged a hand down his face before turning to his daughters. "You girls okay?" His voice had softened, losing all of its previous edge.
Hailey nodded but frowned. "Why do you always fight?"
Y/N knelt beside them, offering a small, reassuring smile. "Sometimes grown-ups don’t get along, but that doesn’t mean they don’t love you."
Alaina looked up at her dad. "Dad, are you okay?"
Marshall forced a small smile, ruffling her hair. "Yeah, kiddo. I’m good. Let’s eat."
Y/N followed them to the dining area, relieved that the tension had finally passed. As they sat down, Marshall’s gaze landed on her, his expression softening.
"By the way," he said, smirking slightly, "where’s that top you were wearing yesterday?"
Y/N arched an eyebrow at him, casually taking a sip of her coffee. "You tore it. Remember?"
"oh yeah" he said as he gave her a big smirk. Hailey tilted her head curiously. "Why did you tear her shirt, Dad?"
His entire body stiffened. Eyes wide, he looked at Y/N like a deer caught in headlights.
Y/N grinned "He’s dumb. That’s why." she said dipping her spoon into the whipped cream on her plate before flicking a dollop onto his face.
The girls started to laugh. Marshall smirked. He leaned in to kiss Y/N, but she quickly pulled back, laughing. "No," she protested, giggling, trying to protest by stopping him with her arms. Marshall smirked at her attempt to stop him, grabbed her arms and put them away and pressed a kiss to her lips anyway.
"Marshall!" Y/N squealed, pulling back with a gasp. The girls laughter filled the room. She wiped her cheek, now covered in whipped cream. "I told you no!"
He just laughed, being pleased with himself. "Too late," he teased. Alaina leaned closer to Hailey and whispered with a grin, "I really like her."
Hailey giggled and nodded. "Me too."

Yes, I am totally a beginner. I tried to paint a tree. I like the way the trunk came out. I, definitely, gotta work on the leaves. It took less than 10 minutes so next time, I will spend more time on the painting. I'm just trying to paint without thinking too much right now. Just letting it flow. I'm gonna paint another one and pay more attention to the leaves. This is sooooooo different from painting with acrylic paint. I can't wait until I understand how the watercolors will act. It just does things. It's very cool and a bit intimidating. 😁 It's still a lot of fun and very relaxing.

hi! sorry to bother you, but i would like to get into pop culture paganism and am intimidated by all the.. everything people are talking about that i dont understand. do you have the most basic, "explain it like im four" crash course for learning PCP? [i feel the need to specify, i dont think im interested in being a witch at this time, i just have a pop culture deity id like to venerate] [i think thats the right word? worship? work with? idk]
thank you very much!
I'll happily help, anon.
WARNING! This post is a very, very basic introduction to Pop Culture Paganism, and I'm writing from my own perspective. There's no way I can cover everything. Please let me rest.
Let's start with some abbreviations:
PCM = Pop Culture Magic, the usage of elements of pop culture in one's magical or spiritual practice
PCP = Pop Culture Paganism, the usage of elements of pop culture (including but not limited to pop culture deities or characters-as-deities) in or as one's religious practice
PCD = Pop Culture Deity, an entity who is worshiped as or is a deity in their source material
PCE = Pop Culture Entity, any entity from a pop culture source (any PCD is a PCE, but not all PCEs are PCDs)
And some of my own definitions (yours may not be the same!):
Veneration/worship = including a figure in your religious practice
Work = creating an agreement with a figure in a magical or spiritual practice, which may or may not be religious in nature
Devotion = worshiping one deity above all others, that deity becoming your patron
All of these have been greatly simplified for ease of use in this guide.
PCP can be done in addition to or in place of other religions. Due to the nature of the phrase "paganism", a polytheist approach is implied but ultimately isn't necessary - there are plenty of pop culture pagans who only worship one PCD/PCE. I practice both PCP and """mainstream""" polytheism.
PCP can be done in addition to PCM, but the two can also be mutually exclusive. I, personally, practice both PCP and PCM.
The primary appeal of PCP is that it is deeply personal. Many people who engage in PCP find that starting their religious practice from the ground up, or in using familiar religious practices from their culture that they're used to, is a lot of fun. Others love the source material(s) that they're drawing from so much that practicing PCP is just a natural way to continue expressing their love for it. There are a thousand reasons to practice PCP.
Some of the """mainstream""" polytheism issues appear in PCP, too. Gatekeeping, cliques, the insistence that deities have to "choose" you...a lot of toxic ideas tend to show up, just because of how online spaces work nowadays.
"That's great, Jasper, but how do we actually do this?" I'm getting there, dear readers, I promise.
Decide your approach. What pop culture source are you drawing from? A video game? Music? A book series, or even a standalone book?
Outreach. Do you build an altar or shrine? Make an offering? Write a poem or invitation? Pray? Wait for the PCD/PCE to reach out first? Do you create them yourself?
Set expectations. What are you going to do? What do you expect? Do you want to communicate back and forth, or just pray and not expect a direct answer? Figure out what you want.
Continue developing. Your PCP practice will likely not remain the same as time goes on. Let it grow, and let yourself grow with it.
Hopefully this is a very beginner-friendly 101 style post! For further resources, please check out my Pop Culture Magic/Paganism Resources Masterpost.
~Jasper
